[Music] what's going on jeromes T.J hackinson is a top three tight end in the National Football League and he ain't three and last year he was on Pace for a 100 and 1,000 uh season uh but unfortunately dirty Kirby Joseph did his dirty Kirby Joseph thing and you could say sure is a one-off freak accident it's unfortunate it's a collision sport yes but then he did it literally like weeks afterwards no no no no no but hackinson hackinson is one of the few Hawkeyes that can actually stand so it's like T.J hackinson Caitlyn Clark Denny green rest in power that's it that's it I know people are going to complain what about Chad Greenway and Jerry Burns did I stutter yeah I'm just kidding Chad Greenway fantastic but uh with Hockinson it's really unfortunate the way that he got dinged up he's a major part of this Vikings passing game he Jefferson and Addison formed that Holy triumphant the the MF and tripod in terms of pass catchers for the Vikings no matter who the hell is under Center you're going to have a chance uh chucking it up to these three uh but Hockinson since his ACL did happen late in the season I mean his availability to start the year was certainly up in the air and uh will rag get Sports Illustrated last week sorry bar the lead uh talking about uh an article about Robert tanion who we'll get to in a second but uh in terms of uh how it's going to be with Hockinson this is what will wrote looking for additional tight end depth to help survive what's expected to be at least a four to six week absence for TJ Hockinson the Vikings brought Anon and blah blah blah blah blah so expected to be at least four to six weeks now I I never claimed to be a journalist or reporter but people tell me things because I have a very trusting face and that that is syncing up with things I think that uh I do think that hackinson is odds on favor to start on the pup list and uh the pup rules so uh what what is the P physically unable to perform uh designation for players who are physically unable to perform I just said that football activities due to football related injuries now the NFI list nonf football injury list is for I don't know if a player gets yeed by a jet ski in the offseason that's what happens man or if they have an injury away from the team facility that's what happens but anything on the field and practice in the facility that that's on the pup how does it work so blah blah blah basically you have to be on the pup list uh to start training Cam and you don't count towards the 90-man roster limit uh and if you want to be on the regular season pup list uh you have to be on the uh on the training camp preseason active pup list otherwise he can't just put players there just to Warehouse them uh so they don't count get to 53 but so there you go and I I do think it's going to be a spot where hackinson is on the pre-season training camp pup list and then uh he's transferred to the regular season now you used to have to miss six games before 2022 uh now it is four games uh go going forward so you know with hackinson the thing that I like about Kevin McConnell and Company is that they're very cautious with injuries uh so if he misses the first four uh weeks of the Season be the Giants ners Texans Packers would be eligible to return uh in London against the Jets but if he skipped that game uh he would be able to return after the bye-week week seven uh and eventually after four weeks uh you can choose to activate a player he can start practicing you have a three-week window uh before adding him to the 53 man rooster otherwise he reverts to uh injured reserve for the rest of the season but I I I think that it is a spot where they're going to be very cautious uh with hackinson as evidence how Jefferson returned from his hamstring last year as well as how Brian O'Neal came back from his partially torn Achilles uh last training camp so that's something that uh is fantastic about Kevin Aon and Company and there's a couple extra complications with hackinson recovery timeline number one it happened so late in the season and number two uh Hockinson and his doctors actually waited a month uh to perform the ACL surgery because they wanted to let the MC heel on its own uh before they wi in and cut so that could impact his availability to start the season and you know with tanyan so I I I do like the tight ends inhouse uh banan does have experience well definitely has experience around the NFC North but also he has been a high volume pass catching tight end before as Evans by 11 touchdowns uh in 2020 I did have his own ACL in 20121 it sort of hampered things with him uh but he is a decent blocker he is a decent receiver uh and can be a decent uh spot starter at tight end so I do think it's going to be a legitimate competition between Johnny Mt and Robert tanyan uh to get those receiving reps from hackinson and we've said this a bunch like uh I think Oliver's role uh is set in stone I think that he is that Jim Klein saucer saucer red Ellison blocking tight end and I I I don't think that hackinson out is going to change Oliver's role per se uh but also may maybe young guys like Nick Muse or Trey Knox uh can into can get into the mix as well but I think that yeah tin and signing you know really showed how the team feels how they're going to progress with Hinson going forward where two is one one is done Johnny Mt the coaches like a lot and he filled in fine last year but uh competition never hurt anyone so bringing T into the mix uh does make sense but your thoughts are thoughts uh
