the following portion of living local Carolina is sponsored by Florence County voter registration and elections well guys you know we're getting closer and closer to election day and that's why today I at the Florence County voter registration and Elections office I'm joined by Julian young thanks for having me again today absolutely thank you all right let's get right into it all right Election Day is coming up soon there's a lot that people need to know and a lot that you're already busy doing right now right walk me through the full Gambit all right so I want people to be prepared as much as we're going to be prepared to have them come and vote but they need to look and see if their their um address is correct uh if they they may have moved a month ago and they just haven't thought about it but we need to get that address changed if by chance they forget to change your address and they still come up to vote with their photo ID Etc and their card that's not an issue we can change good change of address real quickly as once we identify that they are that person they say they are and um but we would love for them to try to do that beforehand because election day is a busy day to be changing addresses and all that it is a little cumbersome so uh please uh check your registration card make sure that everything's correct on there that you know that uh sometimes they change lines and redistrict so you may be voting instead of on the corner you may be voting two miles away just depends so check that out make sure if you have any questions we do have a new app that you can go on and ask questions where where do I vote um and I will tell you what that's called it's called Uh text my gov and text my gov is an app that they can opt in and they can go in once they uh get started and then they opt into flowco and all this information is online uh they can go in there and ask questions and it will take them to the right answer whether it's on my site or the SEC site which is yes so it really is full of information if you don't want to pick up the phone you can get a lot of information that way yes absolutely um but basically get your registration in order uh and get ready to vote now as we get you ready to vote we're going to get ourselves ready uh to produce the uh the whole gamut of voting and our machines will be ready to go they'll be shipped out to the locations they'll be sealed from top to bottom uh that people can't just jerk off the seals you know and tear them off it'll be sealed uh we we will have train all of our volunteers who have come in and said I want to be a poll manager and once we vet them we uh their applications they're signed up and they're ready to go and then we take about two weeks for training all of our 450 people and once that two weeks is is finished out we're ready for early voting which comes in October so yeah we're really excited about that so uh we'll be prepared for and we just want them to get all of their information correct and if they have any questions now is a good time to call call and let's correct and get all that straight we want 17y olds to come in and register to vote uh if they're birthday is going to be 18 before 30 days of November 5th which is what October 4th or 5th or so then they can vote for their first in their first election I know that happened to me when I was a teenager so I was all excited I was 17 when I registered um you will get uh a card in the mail automatically the day you turn 18 SEC sends when from Colombia and that'll be your first registration card now we love 17y olds to register but we also want them to work if they want to help us out in the polls so we'll talk to them about that gotcha as well very quickly walk me through absentee voting this is something that a lot of people need to know about right yes there's the law allows uh so many uh I mean allows people with certain obligations or problems to be able to call in and ask for a ballot to be mailed to them because they can't come in person so again if you want to go over that list again on the different qualifications there's a lot of information on the web that you guys provide as well as SC votes right we have all of the sites that the South count Election Commission has on SC votes.gov we have on our County website which is Florence County uh and you know.org and they can go on there and look under voter registration the following portion of living local Carolina is sponsored by Florence County voter registration and election s
