welcome to the banks of the red seedar East Lancing home of the Michigan State Spartans where the fans have been ready for hours in anticipation of this big one we have coming up what a game and what potential drama we have in store you've seen this script before top 10 team goes into a cauldron of emotion on the road and just hopes to be able to get out and tell about it as we'll see the number one team in the country the Ohio State Buckey taking on another team from the Big 10 the Michigan State Spartans for EA Sports college football ree Davis with you along by David po and Jesse Palmer time to get this game [Applause] started the Buckeyes will kick it away to [Applause] start that's not what he had in mind and they'll give up good field position as the kickoff goes out of bounds kick out kick ball will be placed at the 40 after that kick out of bounds all right on first down here comes this offense go they'll try the Run finally run out of bounds but he has this offense rolling with a first down for the Ed the play fake now to throw and they get the sack right out of the gate and the defense coming through with the first sack of the day and I tell you what this defense they get so many negative plays and they play so fast sometimes you think when you watch them on tape they got 12 guys last week they pitched a shut out this week playing a great ball again you know when you're playing against the defense of this caliber you're going to have to have some of balance right you can't just drop back and throw at every single play nothing going on that last run they're going to have to find another way to get it going hand in the ball the Spartans will putt this one away the punter going to get his first work of the afternoon first one is away and boy did he put him work in that loss last week kicking it five times everybody stays in their Lanes well enough and they stop him at the 31 yd line so Ohio State's offense will go to work for the first time today as we take a look at our impact players for this one what are you looking for Jesse for a guy to make an impact well these are simply put the leaders of this football team in generally games go how these guys play if they make plays they've got a shot to win this one no doubt they got to show up these are the team leaders these guys have to play well if they're going to win the football you can barely hear yourself thinking here as they're trying to get this defense off to a good start he'll be stopped at the 41 but give him 10 on that play yeah and a really nice job by the QBC linebackers a little bit soft pass give the rock hand it off let the running back do the rest the offense lines up at the 41 with a first and 10 used the play fake now to throw he uncored one deep he's go so close to that end zone he could almost taste it but it'll be first and goal for this offense well he is an absolute blur out there and it doesn't take him many grabs to have that yards per catch through the roof sort of like Harris Campbell was done or David Boston back in the day and these are the guys that scare the absolute mess out of you cuz they can fly they run right by you and you're a corner you're backing up because you're so scared of their speed and you and he takes it to the house touchdown Buckey touch this offense is so good man they can hurt you in so many different ways and they do it so quick so explosive they can put small Drives together big Drives together they've really had a great year that's why they're a top 10 offense lining up to tack one more onto that lead and he's got the extra point and it's 7 nothing to start this one quick strike offense on that three-play scoring drive and it was closed out by the short yardage touchdown and he'll just takeing KN in this drive will'll start at the 25 the Spartans have it back on offense hoping to play some good ball David the punter got some work last time they'd like to keep him on the sidelines in this drive yeah it's not something you want to say very often you don't want the punter out there this offense needs to get back lathered up and get a little bit more of a rhythm best way to do that identify where your best players are and just get them the football give these guys some touches to Kickstart this offense they make the stop but not before he takes a chunk out of what they need to move the sticks offensive linemen love to run the power why you run power you run power then you can play action you don't want that defense to be sitting there saying it's a pass it's a pass having the pass block every play and the pass rush is effective and they tick him at the 19 and after that last sack man you could just see it they are feeling themselves after pitching a shut out last week after dominating early in this game just seems like they're playing with a different aggression and a different level of intensity than what their opponent is they have been so dumb fourth down and the punt team sends it the other way he's got great speed can they catch him he will score touchdown Ohio State a dynamic explosive return the sliver of daylight exploding through it just vaporizing and reappearing on the other side and housing it and P returners are so quick you can play Touch football in an elevator with them and lose you can't even get your hand on there so quick so elusive does such a great job making people Miss but still going full speed up the field to get all the way to the end zone and score the TD and the extra point pushes the lead to 14 so his big play capability was on full display in that one as he took that punt back for the touchdown a rather inauspicious start with the kickoff out of bounds and great field position for this off kick looks like a penalty on the kickoff as the ball goes out of bounds they've got the Big Fellas out there a three tight end look on First and 10 the give to the back he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three well we know this offense obviously really struggled their last time out and they knew coming into this one they would have to be better at running the football and that just has not happened in this game they're simply not physical enough offensively at this point not what they had in mind to start this drive here comes second and 13 getting some heat the short hands it's Foster he's brought down solid pick up but a little bit short of the first down here on third down from the gun wants to pass and the quarterback is snowed under we talked to the offensive staff coming into this one they knew up against the top 25 defense with respect to sacks per game that [Applause] they job protecting the QB but they have not been able to get that done so far they've already now allowed three sacks in this game and the Spartans send out the punt unit to kick it away hauls it in looking for space they'll get down and put a stop to the return at about the 28 yd line here comes the Ohio State offense onto the field boy David they would love to stack another touchdown on top of that last drive and this offense did such a good job on the last Drive everything in R hit the afterburners kid inside the 30 he's at the 10 touchdown Buckey he broke away from the defense and they couldn't catch it how efficient have they been as they extend this lead here in week five and coming into the game you look at the stats and you say top 10 offense in scoring so they better be able to create what explosive plays another explosive plays they've been doing it all year long those plays are back Breakers defenses just can't contain this offense about to kick it off after punching it in for the touchdown and it'll come out to the 25 no attempt at a return Michigan state has the ball back here comes the offense to say this has been a slow start it's a bit of a an understatement and they really need to get it going here Jesse that's right the opponent they're firing on all cylinders right out of the gate offensively for this unit they've been slow and struggling they need and they get to the quarterback and knock him down back at the 16 man this defense has been so impressive to watch look at him get to the quarterback get the sack they play so fast it's like they have 12 men on the field another good performance going down right now coming off of last week putting a goose egg on the board against their last opponent well just nothing doing on that last run and they knew coming into this one they were going to be challenged right this is one of the best defenses in all of college football for them to have any shot they're going to have to do a lot better running the football pressure coming and the defense gets to the quarterback well I think one of the biggest reasons why this team is finding themselves in a hole here in the first half is this has been a sack party they can't keep the defense off of their quarterback they haven't been able to get the ball deep down the field throwing it with the consistency they want because they can't keep their quarterback stand up straight makes a move he make the Stop and that is exactly what you want out of your punt cover unit the Buckeyes roll that offense back out there then that last drive if you want to call it that was efficient one big run for a score David see if they can do it again yeah and I find it hard pressed not going to give it right back to him you break that long of a run trying to burn this defensive back grabs it inside the 10 and he eluded the defense and he'll take it all the way touchdown Ohio state that touchdown grabbed the 25th of his career not surprising either when you've got this guy's ability at that position quarterbacks are going to be looking for you 25 touchdown cches that's an impressive figure yeah he's definitely one of those guys that have been so big time Big Time moments clutch plays you know makes those contested catches he a guy that can do everything and that's why he's putting up such great stats Z if you can do that I don't know why you don't do it every time reduced the risk banged it out of the back of the end zone though didn't play at the 25 the Spartans have it back on offense hoping to play some good ball maybe they learned something from their opening script of plays David but other than that this has been an abject disaster and I think they learned what not to do I mean this has been an abject disaster they haven't done anything right offense defense C this one's ugly and it's still early yeah I'd normally say well it's first quarter just don't worry about it there's time but worry this is the worst start you possibly could have happened so they need to score a touchdown right here a first down as they get set to snap it time winding down here in the quarter let's go from the gun running back to G they'll knock him down behind the line and that's how we'll end this quarter well guys Ohio state has the lead here really strong performance so far to be able to build a lead here in the first period as we look at the stats now the challenge here they've taken a punch but they can't let that out of hand as we start the second after losing a couple on that last play here's second and 12 here's the [Applause] handoff they can rely on this guy to pick up solid yardage when they need it and he's out to the 43 keep pounding away at this defense and make them play the run if you can get this many a chunk they're going to have to get more guys to the Box more guys to the run and you open it up for the passing G he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three the Spartans will punt it away on fourth down they may have to pay him overtime he's punting for the fifth time today this guy is a daring punt return man he's not going to settle for the fair catch a solid return gets a little bit of ground for the offense here comes the Ohio State offense onto the field this this offense has really been clicking in the game so far Jesse no doubt everything their play caller is dialing up these guys offensively have been able to go out and execute D yeah and it's just maintaining the lead keep doing what you've been doing you got a big lead let's just keep piling it on he's going up top and the pass is complete he's got it at the 20 touchdown Buckey reeled it in and just made the house call number two well this offense is top 10 in the country in points per game because they've got a lot of speed and they've got home run hitters they score fast they don't need 10 plays to go down the field you saw it right there they've recruited well they've got Playmakers they are going to be a problem for defenses all year long he'll try to tack on one more and with the extra point they push the lead out a little further we check in with Kevin Connors what's going on Kevin guys let's take a look at what's happening in a great college football matchup Sam Houston is currently a big right now I got to think Huntsville Texas is ready to party long into the night they're up 14 over Texas State we promise to keep you posted on what goes down in this exciting college football matchup and how about that one Kevin will be keeping an eye on everything going on elsewhere caught in the back fields Carter and the defense coming with bad intentions knock him down for a loss they need something that goes forward this time on second and long from the [Applause] 14 off the play fake unloads to the right and you'd like to think this sophomore wouldn't make a habit of trying to force passes into double coverage like that you make up the game plan and not a lot on the play sheet for this third and long from inside their own 20 and he will be sacked at the 6yd line you can just see the excitement this defense has every play they're almost wishing this quarterback drops back to throw because they know they're going to get home to them that's the sixth time they've registered a sack and the Spartans will try to pin them back with the punt three and out they got stuck in Reverse they hope the punt can bail them out he gets it away from his own End Zone here's a return from Midfield and they'll h down the returner to start us on the next Drive the Buckey roll that offense back out there they torched this defense with an explosive passing play for a score last time out let's see if they go right back at him going for it all snags it and he's into the end zone touchdown Ohio State St you know often times in college football the best offenses are the ones that can create explosive plays just like you saw right there they're top 10 in the nation in points per game because they don't have to drive the field they've got dudes scattered all over this offense that can take it the distance on any given play the kick is up and good and put one more on the lead that drive not too taxing on the Playbook One play put it in the end zone just like that about to kick it away after scoring the touchdown on the run from inside his own five and good work by the coverage team to knock down the Return Man Michigan state has the ball back and here comes the offense their Drive chart is starting to look a little monotonous punt punt punt David and their defense is starting to get a little frustrated too just keep putting me back on the field possession after possession Jesse this offense needs to get their heads out of there you know what the is on the sideline with the oxygen mask right now he's been playing so much he's not used to this this offense they just got to stay on the field they've got to put a drive together and get some balance going running and throwing the ball gets it out fast and he was fortunate not to lose yardage on that play able to wedge it back to the line of scrimmage now on Third and 10 if they can move the chains here maybe they can get this drive started looking to throw it's child he puts a lot of air under it down the side line and they couldn't connect on the Deep shot let's see if things get worse there's a flag on the field which way is this going to go you just can't hit the quarterback like that that is a dumb play and the defender got caught red-handed threee yards first down for the offense after that penalty leaves it with the back he stopped after getting a yard out to the 30 all season long we've been watching this defense dominate against the Run they're the number one Rush defense in the entire country with a big lead in this game you cannot run the ball and expect to win and get back in it didn't get much on first down it's second and nine he's looking to throw and the pass is incomplete Jarred Loose by the hit this offense just has to find a way to find a rhythm here they're playing at home and they want this crowd to stay involved and be asset in the game but they need to start making plays they can't keep throwing incompletions this early third and long and he'll try to throw for it he lofs one down the sideline another incompletion on third down that's why it's so important for this defense to win first and second down you set up third and Longs like that you can show your exotic looks you can get the pass rush going everybody in the back end expecting throw that's how you force incompletions and Force four stands slips through the line just finds that little crevice oh my goodness he's still moving he'll be guided out of bounds but not before a Nifty return on that one here comes the Ohio State offense onto the field going up top on first down fires toward the end zone and he's got it touchdown Buckey touchdown a a lot of Glorious Days in the history of the Buckeyes and this might put this guy right at the top of the list for a single game and that list of names is incredible like we can go down the list of so many guys that have been such great Playmakers so Dynamic so to think about putting yourself in that category we're going to be talking about winning trophies and this guy being an allam by season's end lining up to cover the kick after that touchdown Drive from inside the 20 chance for great field position able to find enough room to get it out across the 25 he's brought down at the 26 line gets set first down motion from the [Applause] offense and this one will be stopped for no game I like the idea on offense you want to get this guy the football in as many ways as possible you throw him the screen quickly to see if he can make somebody Miss doesn't work there but that should not be the last time you run that play and it's on the ground and the defense jumps on it they get that turnover well this is just the type of field position this offense wants to the air it's Howard a shot toward the end zone and it's caught touchdown Ohio State touchdown oh St really nice job working the route and getting himself open he was able to locate the football snag it out of the air and this guy now has five receiving touchdowns on the year and he tacks on the extra point that's taking advantage of a golden opportunity set up with great field position and they struck quickly for the touchdown the kickoff team out there and ready to go that's a kick off looking for blockers and the returner runs out of real estate as he goes down Spartans have it back on offense hoping to play some good ball these guys have taken some body blows in the first half but now a chance to do something to feel a little better going into halftime Reese they got to respond now they they they got to put points on the board right here cut into this deficit create a little bit of momentum cuz this one's going to get out of hand otherwise yeah there are a lot of offenses out there that might just say okay let's just regroup and figure it out this offense doesn't have time time to do that they've got to be aggressive they've got to throw it down field they've got to score points oh he drops it right down the middle of the field and he couldn't make the play on third down going up [Applause] top pocket starts to collapse and down he goes back at the three that is now the seventh sack on defense this off offense cannot protect their QB it doesn't matter if the defense is blitzing or if they're just winning one-onone seven sacks that's just ridiculous the Spartans will call on their punt team doesn't say much for your drive when you're looking forward to the punt takes it on the return returns like that are why you don't settle for the fair catch if you don't have to picks up just a little bit of yards to help out the O they'll start this drive at their own 48 here we go wants to throw on first down and they got him for the sack and the Buckey want to crank the tempo using his legs it's Judkins well they're going RPO nice job handing it off and really good Vision there just getting what he can get right puts his foot on the ground gets forward helps this offense find positive let's see what they find in the playbook for third and long from the [Music] 43 Y Yankee looking downfield and he needs a bunch they get to him as he throws and the ball is intercepted and he's wrapped up after a solid return on the pick really tough on the offense third and long long it's tough to you know you're passing the football they know you're passing the football I'm going to rush the passer I'm going to drop back deep make you throw the ball underneath but you know quarterback's also want to force that football and try to get that first down he does there and that's why he cigs the turn there's a time out called as this offense tries to find a way to draw a little closer snap is going to come from the 23 on First and 10 back to throw it's child he makes the connection we've got a timeout here late in the first half and they'll try to get more points on the board before the break I think really good wide receivers do a good job of making every route kind of look the same you could tell he this looked like a vertical route so if I'm a DB I'm bail and the defense makes a play and they get the quarterback down at the 26 they'll use a timeout right before halftime maybe time for one or two more plays and it's third down but they're going to go ahead and try the field goal and try to get points before the break he'll try to put up the three ball from 43 yds away it's good there is a flag on the play now if this is on the defense it might not change that much offens already made the long field goal so the offense more than happy with the result of the play will decline the penalty so they get the late field goal right before the half and not much time after this kickoff for an answer he'll bring it out it's Smith not nearly as much as he'd hoped when he brought it out of the end zone he'll be stopped at the [Applause] [Music] 15 one more snap coming before half time he's going to pass going to let it fly oh and he gets downfield for the Mig catch nothing but green ahead touchdown Buckey and once he got away from the D they had no shot at catching him and and I love this offense man staying aggressive just because you got the lead you know people can score points in bunches this offense keeps the foot on the accelerator scores again on the final play now this offense has even more of a cushion going into halftime and they tacked on the extra point first half in the books time now to join Kevin Connor and our time update all right guys looks like we've got a fascinating one going on in East Lancing an entertaining first half and we've got a multi-p possession lead to break down thanks to the surgical Precision of this offense might honestly take more time to talk about what didn't work than what did the running game the passing game Gadget plays have worked now it's just a matter of finishing the job and with that let's head back to the place they they've been playing football for more than 100 years Spartan Stadium and the Spartans will kick it away to start the second half away oh he's going to take a chance he stopped at the 23 a couple yards short of where he would have been with a Touchback will take over the Buckey roll that offense back out there opening play of this drive will come from their own 23 they'll open the second half with a run still running at the 40 all kinds of Running Room at the 20 touchdown Ohio State and the punishment has been extended what an explosive eruption into the End Zone by this running back and this back does it a lot D he makes big plays when you can make big plays like this it makes everybody's job easier oh we can play action oh we can throw it but it starts with a run game and this guy setting everything up and for a quick update let's go to Kevin Conor's in the studio boys if it's happening in college football we've got eyes on it check this out Texas A&M is trailing right now but but it's only a couple of points that quarterback just needs to show the Poise of a young Johnny Manzel and they are right back in this it's a touchdown game they're trailing by seven to Arkansas any big developments in this one we've got you covered with the best studio team in the business gentlemen thanks for the update on that one Kevin let us know when it goes final how about the defender being a heat seeking missile he was on radar lock found the football and flew down with some bad intentions to the air it's child going to try to pop one on the screen bringing the heat they make the stop but not before the screen has hit him for a first down and much more really good execution by this offense Ed the play fake now to throw slips away and this sophomore able to wak some havoc and get the sack the name of the game is protecting your quarterback he can't have success or complete passes on his back let's get the quick passing game going maybe hand the football off but whatever we're doing let's go the opposite direction and knock him down after he picks up five out to the 34 a lot of times defense is Blitz to stop the run this very play right here uh blit the linebacker but man the offense did a great job everybody understood what they saw running back understood could pick up a nice fires and picked off going the other way and he's got room he's at the 20 touchdown Buckey the defense put six on the board with a big time interception return he made that look a lot easier than it is when you break on a football you got to see it and go at the perfect angle the free safety leaves his spot goes and gets it and then does the hard part takes it back to the house for six they're lining up to kick it off after the pick six and that defense will come out feeling it he'll start the return inside is five good job by the coverage unit to stop the Return Man St will over Michigan state has the ball back and here comes the offense the big thing now don't get rattled by that last pick six David N it was a big mistake uh obviously the defense took advantage of it but you got to put it behind you Jesse I'm sure you know a thing or two about throwing a pick six and and how to rebound I believe I've only thrown one in my life but yes I do because of that singular instance I'll say this you can't let that play Beat you twice you got and the pressure gets him back at the 8 yd line and this offensive Line's got to do a better job man you got to protect your quarterback listen this offense is not playing great but they got to somehow find a way to start to get something to together here in this second half grabbed in the back field it's Marsh really strong job by the defense a negative play on third down the Spartans will bring the punt team onto the field three and out and not much choice but to get rid of the ball let's see what he can do with it he only needs a sliver of daylight he did a great job finding some Running Room on that return and was able will set up the offense with good field position here comes the Ohio State offense onto the field looking for a productive play on first down easy to the ground with the back they're trying to send a message with this running game he stopped after a pick up of four to the 33 well this offense came into the game knowing they wanted to be physical they wanted to establish the line of scrimmage and they're running downhill right at this defense and they're churning out positive yardage early Brown will throw it wide open downfield and chunk plays are the name of the game and they get one here before the defense finally makes the stop well they execute the end route and how about the arm strength by the QB that was an absolute bullet on that completion looking to move it through the air touchdown Ohio State and The Stomping has commen and it's so underrated the the relationship between a QB and a wide receiver the timing the ability to know where he's going to be and be accurate with the football that's what leads to nice touchdowns Jesse well the chemistry between these two guys has to be great when you're throwing into the end zone because coverage is going to be tight the throw might not be perfect but this is something these two guys have been repping in practice over and over and over and it's paying dividends now on game day looking for those open spaces and opportunity and The Return Man reaches the end of the line and down he goes the Spartans have it back on offense hoping to play some good ball boy three and out last time David they'd like to be more productive this time around yeah in the last Drive nothing oh and the ball squirts out near their own goal line how about that alert play from the defense to Corral that fumble is this Christmas is this the giftgiving season an absolute gift in the end zone and the defense takes advantage recovering the fumble for the touchdown you know the defense is all about stopping teams but when you have a chance to swing momentum scoop it and score yourself it is such a huge play yeah you just go over the offense be like bro we don't need you today we got this we we'll score ourselves if we have to great job by the defense doing what they need to do and then go talk a little trash to the offense looking for daylight from inside his 20 not a lot of space to be found good Hustle by the coverage team and they stop him at the 21 Michigan state has the ball back and here comes the offense they'll go to the ground and that's a very productive first down play and bringing up second and three one running back in the back field and he has it they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one I got to be honest I am shocked at just how well the defense has played in this game especially stopping the Run we talked about statistically how they've struggled this season but they have put the clamps down in this one and they're just playing with a ton of intensity looking left it's caught downfield they'll get it to the 48 no need to measure it to first down well look that wasn't a touchdown but that was a massive play for this offense they needed some momentum they needed to find a rhythm in what better way than converting on third down awesome job by the quarterback getting K progression man it's been a surprise today for this offense like coming into the game we all talked about it we thought they'd be able to run against this defense that's been run on a lot and this offense just can't get the running game going it be interested to see what they do to try to change it up but somehow someway they need that physical ground game we coming up third down conversions are a huge stat and this one would be a doozy if they can pull it off to throw it's child feeling some heat and he can't escape and down he goes and it's been a long time I mean there's not much to point out to this offense has done well they're behind huge and they got no shot if they can't somehow find a way protect their quarterback and the Spartans line up to punt it away he'll try to really get into this one great contact on that ball as it just hangs up in the sky he gets a block he's brought down but a really solid effort to pick up every bit of yardage he could on the HT return the Buckeyes roll that offense back out there [Music] [Applause] [Music] line gets set first down used the play fake now to throw Jo the arm strength to the left and he bats it away it falls incomplete well the defender got his hand on that one tipped it up in the air offense man they're lucky that one wasn't [Music] bad let's see if they go back to the air on second down [Music] now on the run it's Henderson listen defense is about energy it's about passion it's about physicality they need a little bit more of that get the guy on the ground you can't guys break tackles what could have been set up on a long yard situation now it becomes an easier situation because you couldn't get him on the ground as they get set to snap it just about to reach the end of the quarter off the boot bag wants to throw it buying some time as he moved left they get him on the ground and that'll be the final play of this third period Well guys Ohio state has the lead here this has been a complete obliteration so far as the third quarter stats will show you so will the beat down continue or is this a comeback for the ages in store we'll see as start the fourth the Buckeyes will send out the punt unit wouldn't call it a shank but I don't think he'll include it on his Greatest Hits everybody stays in their range well enough and they stop him at the 31 yd line the Spartans have it back on offense hoping to play some good ball they just didn't quite find the Rhythm on that last Drive Jesse they had to punt it I think they got to be more physical dve I think up front they got to do a better job getting blocks and establishing this running game and how easy does football become if you're the more physical team if you can threaten the run and then then run play action it opens up the whole offense at your disposal to the air it's Charles he looks that one in nicely and they'll slot it at the 45 that's good enough for a first down here's this offense with a fresh set of downs to the air on first down throws for the tight end got him and nobody is close and they got the defense on that one and they get it to the 29 yd line the offense has struggled they're not going to win this game but trust me this coaching staff is still trying to find things to build off of for next week and after an explosive play like that maybe they can generate just a little bit of momentum and gain a little bit of confidence that they can keep coaching up heading into their next game how about the job by this defense they knew what they were getting into a really good running back we talked to him this week it was the main focus point of this offense stopping the Run game stopping the Run game boy have they showed up and showed out and answered that challenge got stuffed on first down it's second and 10 the give to the back nowhere to run on that one he loses four on the carry looks as if we have an injury on that last play and we'll take a break to check him out they line up and it is a long way to the sticks from here blue 22 blue 22 on Third and long he's going to have to turn one loose down field and that pass is intercepted and they'll drag him down after a good return on the interception and as a defensive lineman late in the game man when you know it's passed you're pinning your ears back trying to get to the quarterback and DBS are trying to do this pad them stats get the int nice job by this D here comes the Ohio State offense onto the field on the ground trying to pull the plug on this clock they get him stopped at the 32 that's a gain of four it's just simple simple first down run showing your physicality setting your offense up in a good spot after the productive first down play it's second and six at the 45 on it way oh and the defense in Chase mode and they finally get him down at the 35 yeah defensively you better be ready to run east and west when you're playing against this offense in their running game that time the offense was able to outflank the defense to the right side for a big play they just dialed up one big play Let's see if they've got another one on First and 10 from the 35 a designed Run for the quarterback the whole point of running the quarterback on these designed runs is to get an extra blocker you should be getting more movement up front but that time guys were getting knocked backwards and as a result they actually lost to lost one on that last one it's second and 11 the playaction fake unloads it downfield touch down Buckey and the beat down has ensued they give themselves a little more cushion as they try to reel off their fourth straight win man this has been a complete performance the defense has been lights out and the offense obviously just continues to pour it on this is what you call having a great day putting it all together offense defense complimentary football almost ready to kick it away after scoring the touchdown and they desperately wanted to attempt a return but decided not to instead they'll take the touch back Michigan state has the ball back and here comes the offense boy they had that last Drive moving a little bit David but then the mistake just crushed them yeah those mistakes are going to happen you going to throw the football you're going to throw interceptions but I think I stay aggressive with this offense I get back to what I did in the first part of that drive what made me successful I agree David just turn the page if you're a quarterback right on this drive you did a lot of good things there leading up to that pick forget about it move on play the next part it's first and 10 from the 38 yd line wants to throw it's child he tosses one high and deep down the left side and that's just the kind of game it's been for this quarterback in this offense you got a great game planing all week long you're watching it throughout practice you think you're going to have a chance to light up the scoreboard but they're just not able to hook up you got to give this defense a ton of credit they've done a great job in coverage they've been breaking on passes they've had their number and that's why they're leading by as much as they are misfired on the last play they'll go back to the air and he is finding wideopen Defenders all over the field his third interception of the day and he's going to score on the interception touchdown Ohio state with that the lead nice and comfortable and they're cruising toward a 40 start dude this you didn't think it could any worse right you thought this game's over as it is anyways offense still throwing the football still trying to make plays and the defense just continues to pour it on gets the pick makes its way all the way to the end zone he'll try to add another to their lead exra point and he does it again misses another extra point that's three today they're about to kick it away and the defense probably can't wait to get back out there after the pick six from inside his own 10 let's see what he gets didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 the Spartans have it back on offense hoping to play some good ball well the good news is they threw a touchdown pass last time it was just to the wrong team Jesse well that's an unfortunate part of the game for quarterbacks but guess what they do happen so you've got to be able to turn the page here and Lead this offense why I think you know this defense is going to be aggressive they're going to jump routes they're going to play aggressive you got to take advantage of that maybe use that this time to your advantage trying to get a rhythm in the passing game now on second down looking to throw it's child they're bringing Heat and the defense makes a play sacking him back at the 10 we've reached the two minute warning and we see miracles in college football all of the time and they could use one here not exactly the ideal situation for this offense third and long backed up inside their 20 he's looking downfield to throw and man is that a just indictment of the day your quarterback getting drilled late in the football game this offense has sputtered they haven't found any kind of good Rhythm they haven't done things that that really gives your coach confidence and and makes you want to believe in them this offense has a lot of work to do before their next football game not able to pop the big return but they've got the ball back and ready to go with a fresh possession the Buckeyes roll that offense back out there they're in command of this game now let's see if they tried to rub a little salt in the wound or happy with getting the W yeah and listen this this makes the postgame handshake fun sometimes if you do choose to rub a little salt in it and keep chucking and keep scoring I'm here for it Jesse like your job is to score points it's my job to stop it keep the foot to the accelerator keep trying to play ball I agree a th% that's like Steve spur news they score yet another touchdown with that last touchdown they remain undefeated and what can you say about this offense one of the most explosive in the entire nation and they're coming in I think every week with the mindset that we're just going to outscore everybody we are okay going into a track meet and that's really what we saw in this game today but opponents just cannot keep Pace the pressure gets to him again another sack the defense puts the exclamation point on the day they have had a wonderful day man doing everything great just you could tell they were dialed into what was going on and now just throw another sack in the equation hitting the quarterback being disrupted they've been all over the field the Spartans will line up to punt it away three and out they got stuck in Reverse they hope the punt can bail them out he's got great speed that's a perfect example of not settling for a fair catch pick up whatever yardage you can and help out the offense here comes the Ohio State offense onto the field final minute this game's on Ice they can take a knee and run out the clock this defense has to feel great with how they're able to go out execute and perform big plays all game long I think it's sending a statement pass on the way it's picked off bringing it back and a big return after the int sets up the offense for this possession obviously this game hasn't gone the way they would have liked but coaches are always looking for positive moments and things that you can build on how about that young man going out getting an interception yeah they're being blown out probably not going to win this football game but that is the type of play that as a coaching staff you can build on for next week's G an ill advised play by that Defender as he makes contact with the quarterback well after the throw and it'll cost his defense the offense comes back out with a new set of downs after the penalty come on set he'll come out throwing on first down and that pressure just engulfed him a sack for this defense man I've been there before as a quarterback sometimes you just wish the game would already be over right you've had nothing go your way all game long you're trailing late they're still getting sacks and you just want to go back to the locker room you want to get in the ice tub and start healing for next week and now on second down for
