it doesn't get much more iconic than this after 11 long years we are finally back at the home of golf here in St Andrews so we have a lot to chat about I'm hope Barnett and you're watching LPGA now presented by Surf Pro let's get into it the fifth and final major of the year is on Deck here at the AIG Women's Open and only the best of the best are teeing it up this week they call it the home of golf for good reason it is literally the oldest golf course in history and the last time we teed it up here Stacy Lewis hoisted the trophy but right now in 2024 it's Lily a Vu that is defending her title you just don't ever get over that feeling of other past players being there and so much golf has been played here so yeah it's a surreal feeling and I'm trying to soak it all in at the same time being focused on playing the tournament Lilia spent the beginning of the year out with an injury but is back and better than ever alongside Lilia we have the likes of six-time 2024 winner Nelly Corda aaka Foodway Lydia Co Hannah green and of course last week's winner Lauren cogin and so many more and let's not forget that Lydia just earned her final point to be inducted into the LPGA Hall of Fame by winning the gold at the Olympics I think before I was so frustrated that it was windy and rainy and all the things combined and know the condition um could play a big factor in you know how our rounds are played but I think I've slowly gotten to love it more and uh you know I love how that you have to be so creative when you play Lynx golf you know numbers are sometimes very irrelevant so yeah it's um it's fun and I have to mention the 2018 Champion Georgia Hall who was actually the lam at St Andrews 11 years ago but if we're really getting into the nitty-gritty here let's look at the KPMG performance insights Ali ying and aaka Foodway are both 12 under par in the majors in 2024 aaka also has an incredible 10 top 10 finishes this season Esther hinel is another player to keep an eye on this week with a shiny silver medal from the Olympics in hand and a second place finish at the last tournament don't be surprised if you see her at the top and of course last week's winner Lauren cogin who has won her first two LPG titles this season at the age of 31 so as I've said many times you never know what might happen out here on the LPGA so be sure to tune in and watch on USA NBC Peacock and come back right here to watch LPGA now presented by serf Pro
