first of all I mean how's the transition to college been from from high school um it's been it's been good we came out here in June been working uh we had two days in June stuff like that weights uh practice and it was been it's been good the transition hasn't been as bad because I went to prep school last year and so it definitely helped me out so the basketball part is nothing nothing has been hasn't been hard at all what are some of the main differences you may have noticed from high school lifestyle faster pce for sure I mean and uh strength on the court is is definitely up there too but I mean it's it's more of a IQ thing I I feel like I'm pretty smart on the court so it hasn't been that hard of a transition but yeah i' say the pace and um just being in the we room getting stronger has definitely been one of those things to get on court yeah you got R Bott you know coming into his fifth year something that's been for a long time what are some of the things that you've been able to learn from I mean him RJ even um some of the transfers kind of take me under their wing um asking a lot of question questions uh just just gaining knowledge I mean they've been in college for countless amount of years so they know they know how it works so I just picking their brain about certain things like that awesome what would you say ultimately made you choose um just the culture uh basketball culture coach Davis was really um he's really caring and giving to my family loving and so I that's what I wanted to be a part of as as a uh basketball player I wanted to improve my game and I know that coaches here can can definitely do that so yeah absolutely and I know when you came to visit you mentioned that it was the best visit you had what made it the best I mean just I don't know I just I felt like the vibe around the the campus and it when I came on my visit it was a storm so I didn't get to do as much but like even then like I still felt I still felt like love around the campus so it's ultimately what made me choose here you have there been any you know surprises at all you kind of talked a little bit about the transition and things like that but is there anything has there been been anything where you're like oh I and in what way like anything basketball school all not yet I mean I I know live action coming up next next Friday will probably be like that get probably get that feeling a little anxious a little nervous for sure but uh I mean I I don't know not not not yet I'll say I'm it's too early for me probably do you see a team that you watched a lot growing up yeah a little a lot and I watched them last year so I know how they what they went through last year um kind of giv given us as a team an edge a chip on our shoulder to win the national championship this year going off that a little bit I mean is that a you know what kind of messages have they been sending not just to you specifically but you know what's kind of been the overall message among the that the little things matter um that you could tell someone on the court to do something and they don't take it get in their feelings but it's just love at the end of the day like they just trying to help you out but I mean other guys they've been they've been really good about trying to teach me the path um to be great so it's been good you mentioned uh you watched a little bit of UNC growing up Marcus Fage obviously is here on the what's it like been having him having him uh Marcus is cool he his workouts are intense too I like I like working out with Marcus um yeah he's a cool guy and he's kind of he's kind of our age so it get along there too but yeah he's cool I love Marcus can you describe a Marcus P workout what's that look like um I mean for the guards it might be completely different but it's more ball handling cuz you know he's a point guard um get a basket finish around the rim he was great great at finishing um obviously getting up shots and stuff like that I mean it's been his workouts are are good does he get does he SC at all he doesn't he's not allowed to I don't think so he yeah what would you say it's been like to play with other highly talented freshman like ellot um well I played against Elliott in the national championship last year so we weren't cool um until we both got got to campas but it's no bad blood between us we we both I love Ellie my my roommate my um my dog but I mean he's he's I knew I knew what he was capable of before we both came in so nothing really surprised me about his game because I knew how talented he was you said your roommate yeah he's my he's my sweet mate um it's been good he's he's I don't know how to explain that but he's he's cool yeah he's cool any funny stories or good moments um no I had to get back to you on that yeah no problem for sure both you guys being freshman um this is a team that you know has a lot of experience maybe from different places but a experienced team what kind of added Dynamic you feel like you and Elliot being kind of um I mean yeah we have a lot of older guys so it's it's kind of me ell are two young guys on the team but at the end of the day like like when we're on the court like we're all just hooping so I don't know it's we like the energyy is still high for me and Elliott that just cuz we're freshman we don't go out there and and act like like we not on a team or whatever but I mean it's it's fun practices get real competitive so y'all yall probably going to see today
