Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin nety who is calling for open-ended control of gaza's border with Egypt as part of a ceasefire deal it comes on the heels of new Israeli strikes in the occupied West Bank Palestinian Health officials say six people were killed including the son of a prominent jailed militant ABC's foreign correspondent Marcus Moore joins me now from Tel Aviv Marcus what's the latest in the the occupied West Bank as well as in Gaza well here in Tel Aviv you can see just behind me the flags and uh caskets flag draped caskets that are going to be carried down the road here through the streets of Tel Aviv um these are the families and and Friends of some of the the hostages um who are still being held in Gaza and those caskets you see there are to represent those hostages who have lost their lives in captivity so a very somber mood here this evening as these family members plan to March to the front of the um def defense department headquarters as they have done weekly since the October 7 Terror attacks and what they are trying to say the message they're trying to get across to the government is that there needs to be a deal the families who we whom we have met the the friends uh who we've talked to who've gathered in the streets in these several these past several days are adamant uh they're almost desperate for a deal uh but they don't have some of them don't have much confidence in the current government Benjamin Netanyahu many of them believe that he's the reason why you see some of these caskets going behind me and that he is the one who can bring a deal and bring the rest of the hostages home and so Diane uh this March will go on for quite some time this evening again they're going to March uh from here uh to the head of the the defense department headquarters where as you know over the past several days we have seen massive demonstrations and all of it really seemed to to escalate and grow in size following this weekend and the executions of those six hostages over the weekend I all right Marcus Moore thank you
