Episode Four

it's really exciting because things are starting to happen so much has changed since you've been here last I'm going to take you through check it out all our appliances are starting to arrive from appliances online we've got all our Heating and Cooling from there so we've got our sparkies here today installing which is cool as you can see jib rock is on the wall so now the room starts to take shape which is cool we've got all the insulation in the ceilings and in the walls and it I don't know if you can hear acoustically but this is a sound check installation it's a little house so we wanted to make sure that the room's quiet uh kitchen's happening you can sort of see the space here Ron Lux is up check out this cool Skylight crafted by the Ron luux we love it and then come on through here into our new hallway a little bit smaller than before but makes so much more sense for this house again insulation in the walls acoustically it's so quiet and then into this is going to be the bathroom that's servicing the bedrooms and again we've got that natural light coming through the Skylight which I love the next exciting phase is obviously getting tiles on the wall so I can't wait to see my vision come to life so [Music] exciting can I can I break this go through it it's bit aggressive why was that so satisfying okay W that's very grety well it was oh okay so these are the floor tiles okay these are from bont yes now now I want to demonstrate something to you you can make a circle right yeah obviously but then I also want it to be like random as well what I've got some I've also ordered just some plain Colors oh my gosh so the the idea is for it to be like super random you know what I mean like it's not me to look I want some circles some plain pattern pattern pattern pattern to a certain height and then we got to figure out whe we're going to do it that way or that way well I don't think that's going to work cuz it's a different thickness well what do you mean it's a different thickness I don't care you got to make it work what it work what do you mean if if this is a different thickness oh you're lucky luy it's the right otherwise I'd just be calling in an expert Tyler who could figure it out for me who would say they can do that because you see this is where designers go wrong they go and pick two different tiles one could be 10 one could be 8 Ms your job as an expert Tradesman is to make my vision come to life and if anyone can do it it's the r dog let's go do you know what I mean okay now basically I'm going to measure this bathroom I'm going to give you the dimensions and you're going to go outside and you are going to lay the tiles well well I might just give you an idea of what I want and then you know I probably trust no I want every single tile a because I know what's going to happen if you leave this to me you're going to come once it's already glued and say that's and I will not be touching no you're pretty creative with this I will not be touching your tile okay so you want these tiles on the ceiling so you want these tiles on the floor t on this wall yeah Tazo on this wall y this up to about here and then Tazo we'll play with this yeah yeah I don't think it's going to look very good because you're going to have that tile running all the way up there you going to have that tile running up the shower didn't think about that one did you C that's awward just run it up to that line in the shower run it up to that line in the shower yeah that yeah that'll look good that look good I can't wa I love these tiles from Bowmont tiles they're an artisan tle Australian made they come in lots of different patterns lots of different color combos I've gone for the circular pattern because I think it's very mid-century so it's really on point for this particular renovation now the idea is to lay these in a very random pattern but I'm going to just mock it out here and I'm going to get Ronnie to follow it exactly so I can't crack it again you [Music] know [Music] look look look look look oh wow that is amazing it's cool hey can we just leave the onsite out here so what I then want you to do is just transfer that pattern on the wall up onto the wall and then like repeat once you've gone 1 2 3 4 5 six repeat So when you say repeat if that's the floor do you want that tile here then go up that way yeah yeah okay we put put all the tiles out in the living and dining space because I don't have time to actually think about it once the glue goes onto the ground I don't want to be thinking oh is that pattern look good because once I put it down that is zip it's not coming up so she had a great time doing this and what I'm doing as I'm putting the tiles down I'm crossing them off so I just recently did these two tiles boom so now I'm on to the next next line um it's a little bit tricky tiling but there's a couple of tips and tricks uh it's all about where you start and where your main lines are and guys this laser I keep on banging on about this laser but you cannot screw it up with the laser you honestly can't because it's completely Square um it was a little bit tricky around the the drain all of those were cut by hand with an angle grinder and I'll be honest with you if I haven't followed the pattern of George's she's going to make me rip it up so this would be fun but what I am going to do I'm going to leave one and I'm going to switch it I'm going to not going to tell which one it is and then I'm going to throw away the plan you'll never know I feel like you wake up in the morning and you go today how can I s Georgia this is like your life goal I feel like I wake up and I think to myself today's going to be a good day what can I do to piss Georgia off yeah it's not true darling it's just it's it's just you know it's what I do it's what have we've been doing for the last 20 years it's the bickering it's like the stiring I find that fun sometimes it turns me on sometimes doesn't wow we went there come on let's go find money where's the Run Dog come on Ste girl I mean George you pretty impressed with the tiling only took a couple of hours haven't grouted it yet obviously but there was a slight I'm going to say is this the pattern that I chose well can you move out the way I've kind of Switched one pattern move I've kind of Switched one tile and I'm not going to tell you which one it is it's here it's this line here no no that what that that's not it I had to make an executive decision and I think it I un nailed it cuz it looks absolutely incredible looks so good looks so good can't get out of here really love it when you come to work babe come [Music] on around the corner I [Music] start do you want to hold my hand they actually look really good today M E I think you're a bit sweaty and dirty from I really love the construction listen Focus I'm focused now doors cladding I want to look at the fireplaces that's what we need to like lock in today I'm in my happy place here so be nice to me okay do what you told and I'll be nice to you so we're painting the internal doors well I think this K is kind of just you know your it's just like a contemp very modern profile but it's also got a little bit of character to it I think that that will work really well for our okay and it's um and then we are going to um paint that okay we I mean you okay and then external door I think that's a really nice front door going in and we are definitely going to do this a fun color because we've got those green geometric tiles on our veranda and we're going to do like you know how the Palm Springs they just have those really cool colors it's like pop pink doors almost orange do yeah not i' go more like Tan t t this color tan this color definitely not this color no in between I love I love this setup I love this this is gas cool oh it's not even locked they don't even lock it here get a beverage get a beer I don't want a beer I just want um like sparkling lemon she I actually wasn't going to open mine what that's naughty this is water do it's not alcoholic so we're we're in there you know justor we we're in the section that are selling highend five places this is what people who are actually buying the stuff B so so this is how they do it they give you a drink you sit down here and then you just decide from here I kind of like that one butab should we go to where the electric ones are this is all gas love you're in the wrong section just give me a minute just give me a minute you are way too familiar you can't just help yourself to like I don't think you understand I'm part of the furniture at Suba restoration that's the every anytime I feel down and I need a little lift me up I get in my car I drive to subie I get and I talk to everyone there cuz I know everyone that's not the first time I've opened up that fridge door my friend I actually believe that I think I believe that normally it's a beer but this time it was just like a nice refreshing lemonade fair enough yeah that's that heat's on there now so 2 Kow so good good for 20 m one one room or the immediate area of an open plan area so so electric all you need for this is a power socket yep just a 240 Power Point yep tring plug yep yeah and the price point for something like this um $15.99 retail so I feel like that's a really good price point for you know cuz we're doing a rental right so we're not Chuckers and we also don't have gas there yeah perfect so I mean your equivalent gas fire in that sort of size would probably be 5 to 7even G so it it's very good compared to that so it's going to give us the look without the price tag correct yeah beautiful all right so we'll just take this one so we just take you want in BO please good luck Ronnie Legend this um surround paneling yeah this is their easy craft so I'm pretty sure that's like pre- primed sheets that it comes in so sheets so they're not individual they come sh and you just m I'm going to feature that around our fireplace and then I'm also going to connect it into our bedroom M no no I think I just do it in the master bedroom okay does this look familiar to you Caribbean Coral I think we've used this before do you not remember this was our whole block backyard F versus faves this is the decking we used that color yeah oh wow and we're going to use it again it's such a good color it's really neutral soft and warm so I want to definitely use this um and what I love about this product is it's like you put it in you forget about it so in terms of maintenance on a rental like you don't have to ever do anything again yeah you know how many people ask me for that color people Caribbean Coral Everlast that's the color so many I got so many DMS what's the color what's the color see I get DMS but they're not asking for colors you make you you wish come [Music] on
