there anything you would like to address with the court okay however let's start from the very beginning while Florida is no stranger to Crime having produced a long list of Infamous Killers 2019 would prove to be another horrific moment added to the state's history of crime and it all began with Wade Wilson on October 7th 2019 25-year-old Wilson met 35-year-old Christine Melton and a friend at a Fort Meyer's bar in Cape Coral Florida after a great time out together the trio decided to hang out at Melton's apartment unfortunately this is where things would take a very dark turn not long after Melton's friend left her apartment Wilson turned on Melton and strangled her to death as she slept in this case the totality of the circumstances indicates the defendant with premeditation beat and strangled Christine Melton in her home before stealing her vehicle and driving to meet his girlfriend Melissa Monson he then stole her car and drove to meet his girlfriend Melissa Montanez after she refused to get into the car he assaulted her but she managed to escape before things got worse she would eventually testify against him at his trial I went to the driver side window he wrote it down I said where are my keys where's my car um he was calm and just saying get in the car get in the car and it escalated quickly not long after he drove back to Cape Corral Wilson saw 43-year-old Diane Ruiz walking to work along a street he then pretended to ask her for directions lured her into the car then attempted to strangle her like that wasn't bad enough he drove to an empty lot and began to attack the mother of two when she tried to flee Wilson stopped her strangled then pushed her out of the car and ran her over 10 to 20 times when he Tri when she tried to exit he then drove to an empty lot strangling her into unconsciousness at least one additional time on the way there when she tried to flee from the car he drove over her at least one time inflicting mortal injuries to her spine ribs and neck her body was found in a field 3 days later as vultures circled overhead the craziest part Wilson contacted his biological father Steven Testa several times and confessed to the murder of Ruiz in fact he seemed very excited about what he had done and said he wanted to make Ruiz look like spaghetti Testa contacted the police but then Wilson attempted to flee from the police uh did Wade Wilson get in touch with you through phone call that day yes ma'am and what was it that he told you when he called uh the first time he said um he needed help he he had done something that he couldn't take back after an intense investigation Wilson was finally apprehended on October 8th 2019 the evidence was overwhelmed whing DNA surveillance footage and witness testimony all pointed to him on October 11th 2019 Cape Coral Police confirmed that Wade Steven Wilson was the person of interest in Diane ruiz's and Christine Melton's deaths although Wade Wilson has been connected by investigators comments to the murders of Diane Ruiz and Christine Melton he has not been charged actually with killing them Wade was eventually charged with first-degree murder grand theft and burglary among several others and when the case went to trial it quickly became clear that this wasn't going to end well for Wilson during the trial Wilson now known as the Deadpool killer showed no remorse and instead of showing any signs of guilt it was as if he was determined to play the role of the villain to the very end by June 12th 2024 the jury had seen enough and Wilson was found guilty of the murder charges against him after it was determined he had simply murdered both women for the sake of killing and what does a guilty verdict for two first-degree murders get you in Florida him under control however nothing they did worked Wilson grew up in Tallahassee and attended Dear Lake Middle School and Lon chills High School presumably graduating in 2012 for 2013 according to those who knew him in high school Wilson was a pretty rough kid woman even claimed Wilson and his group of friends were responsible for passing around marijuana in the school and that he was the first person she ever smoked marijuana with when she was 14 years old she also said Wilson from a young age did not respect authority whatsoever and was expelled from high school because he was smoking weed in the bathroom and caught the toilet paper roll on fire another classmate added that Wilson always pushed the boundaries as far as crazy things he would do incl including allegedly trespassing and breaking into cars and all that stuff After High School by the time he was a teenager Wilson was already known to local law enforcement petty theft vandalism and run-ins with the police became routine for him it was clear that Wilson was on a dangerous path but at this point no one could have predicted just how far he would fall in his early 20s Wilson's criminal activity escalated in 2015 he was arrested on charges of sexual battery and kidnapping after a woman told investigators he raped her in his SUV after they met at a party in Tallahassee Wilson denied the charges and a six-person jury acquitted him at trial in 2018 Wilson emerged as a figure in the trial of Denise Williams in Tallahassee who was convicted of first-degree murder and conspiracy in the death of her husband Mike Williams and plotting with her lover ran Winchester to make it look like a boating accident his disappearance in 2000 was one of tallahassee's most vexing Mysteries until investigators finally leveled charges against Winchester and later Williams Winchester who testified against Denise Williams told jurors he tried to get Wilson who was his jailmate at some point to fabricate evidence in the case he said Wilson went so far as offering to kill Denise Williams who was eventually sentenced to life in prison Miss Williams I do adjudicate you guilty of count one and two on count one I sentenc you to 30 years Department of Corrections on count two i s issue to life in prison around June 2019 Wade Wilson's ex-girlfriend Kelly Matthews made a series of Tik toks revealing how violent he was and even alleged that he had tried to kill her most recently Matthews has been vocal on Tik Tok I dated this man Matthews claimed Wilson choked her in a car two or three times on February 18th 2019 in another incident she claimed Wilson pushed her on the floorboard of her car cut off her clothes with a knife and told her to stay down there until he put her in the back of the car and allegedly sexually assaulted her she also claimed he gagged her tied a shirt around her face and tied her hands and feet together with a used garbage bag inside the car he kidnapped me and almost killed me Matthews reported the alleged assault assault to police who she claims failed her so severely by not arresting Wilson at the time Wilson and his former girlfriend were under a no contact court order so investigators opted not to pursue the rape and kidnapping allegations despite his growing rap sheet Wilson always managed to slip through the cracks short jail sentences meant that he was back on the streets sooner rather than later and with each release Wilson's descent into darkness grew more pronounced fast forward to 2019 and Wade Wilson's name would soon be known far beyond Florida and for all the wrong reasons on October 7th 2019 Wilson then 25 murdered Christine Melton assaulted his present girlfriend and then brutally attacked and ran over Diane Ruiz within hours Steven Testa Wilson's biological father said he received a call from Wilson that same day while at work according to Testa Wilson asked for help and said he did something he could not take back the next day he was arrested for the gruesome crimes he committed if you thought Wilson's story ended with his arrest think again because what happened next shows just how deep his descent into darkness went once in custody Wilson didn't express any remorse for his actions in fact he seemed to embrace his new status as a notorious criminal it first started with him altering his physical appearance while behind bars when he was arrested in 2019 for the murders of Melton and Ruiz his face was completely clear of markings but as he appeared in court for his trial and sentencing years later he had a sickening array of tattoos made up of swastikas threats of violence and movie quotes several swastikas can be seen across his face and head head one was spotted under his right eye and it's now news that the swastika is the symbol of Adolf Hitler's Nazi party and is one of the most significant and notorious hate anti-Semitism and white supremacist symbol for most of the world Wilson also had the number 14 tattooed on the right side of his neck for the white supremacist Mantra known as the 14 words we must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children he also had the number 88 on the left side of his neck which is the numeric code for the eth letter of the alphabet H with H meaning H Hitler it is believed Wilson got in with the white supremacist prison gang The Unforgiven during his time in Lee County Jail in Fort Meers Florida where he was being held he also has the word spread for war underneath his chin which again indicates his willingness to get violent on the left side of his face a large skeletal figure can be seen saying the words why so serious the Batman referencing Heath Ledger's portrayal of the Joker in Christopher Nolan's 2008 film The Dark Knight his appearance wasn't the only thing that changed despite being behind bars Wilson grew even more dangerous on September 30th 2020 deputies at the Lee County Jail received information about a possible escape attempt involving Wilson and his cellmate Joseph Katz his defense team will likely try to make sure the jury doesn't hear about it Wilson was charged with attempted escape and criminal mischief on April 20th 2023 a k9 identified narcotics at the Lee County Jail near an area where landscaping rocks were laid authorities recovered a gray grocery bag with two ziplock bags inside each bag contained loose cigarettes suspected narcotics lighters and pills both bags tested positive for methamphetamine and it was determined Wilson was working with other inmates to plant the narcotics at the Lee County Jail during his trial Wilson displayed a level of callousness and manipulation that shocked everyone involved he taunted the victim's families with his smirks and generally showed no regard for the lives he had taken his legal team tried to argue that his behavior was result of his troubled upbringing his addiction issues and his mental health struggles but the jury wasn't convinced the evidence against him was overwhelming and Wilson's lack of remorse only solidified their decision he was found guilty of the murders and sentenced to death the totality of the reason it's easy to wonder if he is perhaps the scariest killer to have been convicted in recent times we're talking about a Man convicted of brutal murders that shocked an entire Community but how does he stack up against other notorious killers of our time first let's compare him with Nico Jenkins the first death death penalty imposed since Nebraskans voted to bring it back a name that still haunts the state of Nebraska if you're unfamiliar with Jenkins prepare yourself as his story is the stuff of nightmares unlike Wade Wilson whose crimes were driven by perhaps mere Fascination or even personal rage Jenkins claimed his murders were acts of ritualistic sacrifice this panel finds that the death penalty is appropriate should be and is hereby given for each of the four murders by the purchasing ammunition similar to what was used to commit the murders Jenkins eventually confessed to the murders claiming they were acts of sacrifice to apus an ancient Egyptian deity he also blamed the killings on mental issues and claimed he had schizophrenia bipolar disorder and obsessive compulsive disorder after being declared competent to stand trial Jenkins represented himself at trial and his courtroom Antics included speaking in tongues howling and laughing as prosecutors recounted the details of his victim's deaths on April 16th 2014 he was found niiko Jenkins guilty of all four murders and in May 2017 Jenkins was sentenced to death as well well as an additional 450 years on weapons charges connected with the murders this panel finds that the death penalty is appropriate women despite his claims of Innocence he was sentenced to death at the Maricopa County superior court that the Senate should be sentenced to death Brian Patrick Miller was responsible for a series of brutal murders in the 1990s but it wasn't until decades later that he was finally caught his crimes took place in Phoenix Arizona where he targeted young women and left their bodies in or near the Arizona canal in November 1992 Angela brusso was killed on the eve of her 22nd birthday and 17-year-old Melanie bernas was killed less than a year after brusso and bernas both disappeared appeared while riding their bicycles along the Arizona canal in North Phoenix according to authorities police believe the killer knocked braso off her bicycle stabbed her and dragged her off the trail her naked body was found decapitated near a bike trail 10 months after bro's death police said Bern's body was discovered floating in the canal bernas was not decapitated but her bicycle was missing what makes Miller particularly frightening is how long he evaded capture DNA evidence collected in the aftermath of both crimes showed the attacks were linked to the same suspect and Miller was eventually arrested for the murders in January 2015 according to police Miller denied any involvement although he acknowledged living in the vicinity of the killings at the time and said he rode his bike on paths in the area he was also implicated in a third murder although no concrete evidence linked him to the crime his fascination with violence extended Beyond his crimes he was deeply immersed in a subculture that glorified horror and Gore Miller took part in Zombie walks in Phoenix and fashioned a homemade costume with a menac mask and a fake Gatling gun he also drove a tricked out old police car with the words zombie hunter on the back like Wade Wilson it seemed Miller's crimes were driven by a deep-seated need for control and dominance over his victims very much like Wilson Miller's lawyers attempted to blame his troubled childhood for the person he became it was revealed that Miller's mother had abused him as a child he also continued to deny his role in the murders of bernas and broso but was found guilty regardless in June 2023 he was sentenced to death that the defendant should be sentenced to death while Miller's ability to blend in with Society for a long time added an extra layer of Terror to his crime does that make him more scary than Wilson let's also look at the case of George Brinkman who committed a series of crimes in 2017 that shocked Ohio for a long time we do hereby impose the death penalty he eventually faced Justice at the Ohio Supreme Court but let's find out what crimes he committed that make him a terrifying killer what makes brinkman's actions particularly terrifying is that he knew his victims suzan Taylor was in fact his Elementary School classmate and both remained friends as adults yet on June 10th 2017 Brinkman held Suzanne and her two daughters captive inside their home and killed them one by one he first killed Suzanne in front of her daughter by stabbing her in the head and slitting her throat he then murdered one of the daughters by smothering her with a pillow and the other by strangling her with a phone cord he fled to the johns's home in Stark County Ohio Brinkman had known the John couple for more than 10 years as he had formerly dated Jean J's daughter and had previously worked as a phonebook delivery person for Jean Jon's business on June 11th 2017 Brinkman got out Jean J's 45 caliber handgun and loaded it following a mini argument with Mrs Jon he then ordered the couple to an upstairs bedroom one that was farthest away from the neighbors and shot them multiple times Brinkman then stole $40 from Mr Jon's wallet and $100 from Mrs John's purse so that he could flee the state however he was arrested the next day and charged with murder he pleaded guilty to the murders and in July 2022 he was sentenced to death for murdering the John couple on May 31st 2023 he was once again sentenced to death for murdering Suzanne Taylor and her daughters we do hereby impose the death penalty in the end who is the scariest it's hard to say definitively as each of these men represents a different kind of horror Wade Wilson's cold calculated brutality is terrifying but so are the crimes of Jenkins Miller and Brinkman it's safe to say the scariest killer is the one whose crimes haunt you the most when it is told and it could be any of these men however what's certain is that their crimes remind
