following the public outcry generated by the viral video The Metropolitan Police have reopened the investigation in a statement a met police spokesperson said we are aware of a video circulating online showing an incident in a branch of Nando in Stratford which took place in March a report of assault was made to police at the time of the incident however it appears this was not progressed promptly by officers we are working to establish why this happened and except this is not the level of Sur londoners should rightfully expect from the Met the police have since made contact with the victim and taken a statement they have also stated that inquiries are ongoing to locate the man involved in the assault though no arrests have been made as of yet this case has reignited discussions about violence against women and girls in the UK as well as the broader issue of workplace safety in the service industry
