Introduction so after reportedly being in the works for over 10 years at this point we finally received our first ever look at the official Minecraft movie and people are not happy at all that is why in this video I'm going to be taking you through everything we've received so far about the official upcoming Minecraft movie as well as that we're also going to be discussing not only what this means for the future of the franchise as a whole but also the next planned major Minecraft update 1.22 with that being said if you are hyped or horrified do not forget to drop this video a like and let's dive straight into it so as mentioned even The new Minecraft Movie official trailer back when I was playing the free light version of the game on mobile probably over 10 years ago at this point we've been hearing reports of the Minecraft movie which allegedly started straight from the creator of Minecraft itself Notch and here we are on September the 4th 2024 we did receive this completely out of nowhere saying be there be square the Minecraft movie only in theaters 2025 below giving us at this point the infamous trailer which everyone seems to be talking about ever since its reveal The community reaction & backlash to the Minecraft Movie Minecraft has been non-stop trending and it does seem like it's all for the wrong reasons because this trailer did instantly drw up controversy with one of the most liked responses to this entire thing simply asking what the heck did I just watch I'm sure you've all seen the trailer by now it is everywhere but just in case you haven't one of the key issues with this Minecraft movie is that it is half animated in a very let's just say unique art style whereas on the other hand they also have liveaction actors in the same world which makes them just look extremely out of place it seems like what M Jang was trying to do here is represent the Minecraft Community by transporting real people into a stylized World which does represent the game in people's imagination but it seems to have not paid off in the slightest with Ekko a legendary Minecraft content creator simply saying bro what have you done to my boy the pink sheep and this is by far one of the most disgusted parts of the entire trailer because the mobs themselves have actually become nightmare F to many people most people seem to have one of two takes right now and that is either the trailer looks horrifying or it just looks cringy and I kind of agree with that I have a bit of a controversial opinion I think where if you take the liveaction actors out of the scene out of the frame and you just look at the animation itself it does take a bit of time to get used to but I can understand the direction they were going for however when you then just place real life actors into the scene it just destroys any and all immersion that you could have had possibly looking at the animation another popular post is this by Tommy in it saying first Sonic no Minecraft sheep realistic animation will ruin us all and I've saw this basically everywhere where people are comparing the original Sonic the movie trailer to this first Minecraft movie trailer and I definitely understand that The biggest issues with the Minecraft Movie Trailer pink sheep going back to this example of the pink sheep I think it just falls into that uncanny valley where just the teeth and the mouth I think are just completely scary and horrifying especially to younger audiences now that's a who is this movie targeting it can't be children because much of this animation will probably terrify them and it can't be adults because the movie and the acting in general just seems to be too cringy so what many people are currently Our hopes for the upcoming Minecraft Movie hoping as of when we just received this trailer is that they will receive the feedback let's put it that way from the community where then they will recreate the Sonic movie situation where they go back to the drawing board change around some of the animation and then release a new trailer where hopefully it just matches a bit more with what the Minecraft Community imagined for a Minecraft movie so with all that being The Minecraft Movie story & Minecraft Legends concepts said I saw some people holding out a bit of Hope saying well maybe the story at least could be interesting whereas based upon what we've received so far it does just seem to be a copy paste of the recent failure of Minecraft Legends with potato man of MC confirming over on Twitter fun fact the piglins riding guests in the Minecraft movie was original a concept for Minecraft Legends but it didn't make it through to the concept art phase still I'm always a huge fan of this and to be completely real the part in the trailer where the piglins were riding the guests into battle I think that is awesome such a cool idea but as shown this is not even an original idea it was planned for Minecraft Legends so I did mention in What the Minecraft Movie means for the Minecraft 1.22 update the intro that we would be talking about what this could mean for Minecraft 1.22 The Game's next big upcoming update and I definitely think there's quite a bit to talk about here because as posted on September the 4th we do actually have an official release date only in theaters April the 4th one thing I find really interesting about this is that it does fall slightly short of the expected release date of the upcoming Minecraft 1.22 update meaning that most likely in some way Mojang is definitely planning on capitalizing on this movie's success over the past few years we've been hearing Rumblings of a new animation update or shaders update or environmental update for the game bringing all new shaders lighting graphical effects and possibly even Next Generation ports of the game for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox series consoles one really interesting Theory I've saw thrown around is maybe Mal Jang were planning this next Generation R tracing super Graphics update to be released around the time of the Minecraft movie because if you actually look at the official key art poster for the movie we can see a super realistic adaptation of a creeper now this is really interesting because if you go back to like original concept art and Designs the creeper is meant to be some kind of a grassy Spore monster which actually spawns from nature itself one thing that's really The upcoming Minecraft Animation frustrating though and this has already been talked about by basically everyone at this point but Mojang Studios does actually have an incredible animation team I'm sure you saw them throughout this video alone the animations and just the storytelling the Expressions that go on Within These animations are simply incredible so many people are questioning why they did not choose to go down this route for the Minecraft movie itself which leads me to a very crucial Point earlier this year on May the 30th it was confirmed that from Netflix and mang Studios and animated Minecraft series is officially in the works so for everyone wondering why this movie is not actually animated and they're choosing to go down a very different more stylized route for it just remember this is only one adaptation of Minecraft and I'm sure there will be many many more to come as the years go by since it's official Will DanTDM be in the Minecraft Movie? reveal though we've actually saw a number of legendary Minecraft content creators come out and publicly talk about their involvement with the Minecraft movie itself with some of them even being flown down to New Zealand where the movie itself was filmed so who knows maybe Mel Jang are hiding some of the best parts of this movie from us potentially we
