talking BYU and their quarterback situation trying to figure out exactly who their guy is going to be Aon rodri says hey I'm going to take my time hey what is the unspoken rule on people's H people having speakers in public places o did you see that video I retweeted I did not okay so it's it's a couple they're on a cruise ship okay and they're out on a shared deck right on and there's this couple that has their portable Bluetooth speaker but you know one of these that's about the size of our remote box here yeah and they're thumping it fairly loud and this woman from the other table gets up grabs it and Chucks it off the boat good for her and and starts to run away cuz yeah yeah she didn't want to face the consequence of it but she chucked it I've got a story I've been irritated by it a few times this one got me really bad so I took that trip to Hawaii whatever it was two or three years ago and there was this beautiful waterfall hike that's like a four or five mile hike so it's you're putting a lot of effort to get into the waterfall and the hike is Serene and it's picture perfect and you're through all these heavy wooded areas and all this growth that you've never seen before unless you're from Hawaii and you come into this open space and it opens into this massive pool in an undercut stone with about a 180t waterfall and here's this idiot playing his stupid music top volume on a dumb Bluetooth speaker with him and his the lady friend that he was with and they're sitting there thinking that they're incredible and that they and there was like six or seven other people and I'm looking at these these people like how dare you you pukes you scum you think that every one of us wants to hear your stupid playlist I don't care if it's Barry Manalo I don't care if it's Neil Diamond I'm not coming in with my playlist because I know you don't want to hear it while you're trying to experience something that you got to experience for the first time uh yeah rude disrespectful and needs to stop like I even have one of those um uh what do you call it the little thing you hook up to your golf cart that has a speaker attached to it wingman wingman and I've never used it because I don't want to be the guy well Frank well let's be honest I haven't golfed in a while too to use it but I don't want to be the guy that uh is blasting music while other people are trying to play golf it's just not right it's not right and I've been to the beach I try to get to the beach a couple times every year yeah and feels like without fail there's some idiot family that sets up their tent they think they own the beach and they set their stupid speaker up and they think that pumping whatever music they want to pump is just fine and it's like hey that isn't what I want so why why do I get to sit here and listen to your stupid music yep like how happy would you be if I'm pumping John sakata and just another day and we're living the 90s right here in front of you do you want to relive the '90s and you can buy those speakers for pretty cheap it like I was looking at want a Costco the other day I was like holy smokes that's a nice little speaker you can get for 50 bucks that can just blare out the entire neighborhood with that sucker man what is wrong with the disgusting entitlement of people all man and it seems like it's gotten worse I don't know if it was Co or what but we all got sheltered in place for you know a couple months and then all of a sudden everybody left their houses and being like I'm going to do what I want and you can't stop me and it's like wait a minute no where's where's some human decency at come on knock it off if you are blaring your stupid speaker in public look around if you're in an airport and you've got your phone volume up flipping through Tik toks realize you're an idiot y stop doing that I would love to play devil's advocate here I would love to be like you know people have in no no you don't you go out in public you got earbuds you got airpods you can find headphones really cheap these days pop them in listen to whatever you want this it'll sound better in your airpods anyway it'll sound better if I was I don't even like guys that even have the Bluetooth things in their ear and they're on the phone walking through the airport you know I'm lucky enough making Million Dollar Deals I know I'm I'm lucky enough because I fly enough I get a you know I get access to the like the Delta Lounge thing and uh would never pay for it but you know fortunately I got the miles I can sneak in there and there I mean that's like the uh if if you think you're even remotely important you're like Buy sell this stock it's like hey buddy nobody cares what you're doing like go they've got these little like phone boosts you can sit in and have private phone calls go go in there there I don't want to eat my um you know my little pre-made sandwich and hear you have to talk about whatever stock deal you're putting together shut up nobody cares we used to work with somebody that did this frequently until all of a sudden the phone rang he wasn't actually on it he was trying to act like he was on the phone like he was making some deal of some sort yeah well if you are doing this check yourself if you are playing your dumb music in public places check yourself realize you are a scumbag if you're doing that because nobody wants to hear your stupid playlist nope and a lot of people are trying to enjoy the walking trails or they're trying to enjoy their public spaces or there and when you're doing that all you're doing is absorbing it's just it's so egotistical I got to see this video you have it on Twitter yeah I retweeted it and I'm just telling you right now if I were to run against Governor Cox for governor of the great state of Utah my platform would be legalizing the ability to abuse people's speakers in any public place where it's being played at unreasonable volumes without penalty um and phones speakers and phones you know you know you know I love my guy Spencer but you got my vote let's go run on this platform and let's make a change oh man she really hefted that thing oh yeah making the announcement that Isaac Wilson is the number two quarterback what's the rationale here's Kyle explaining it right now cam Rising number one Isaac Wilson number two that's where we're at three and four still working through that but without much debate cam is one and Isaac is two Isaac is continue to get better each day he's seeing the field better he's making better decisions he's got a live arm ball comes out of his out of his hand like it's supposed to very mobile and that's another facet that is really strength of his is being able to have escapeability in the pocket and senses the rush very well and is able to get himself out of jams and still make a play on the Move well there's no debate no question Isaac's really separated himself that much yeah from number two to number three and Scotty I do think that there is a study in all of this not just for the quarterback position but any position battle especially at a young age when you're trying to prove yourself as a freshman and I think somebody could put together a thesis on this because I know if I'm talking to my son and I'm trying to help him as a true freshman grab a starting position on an offensive line at the D1 level there is a set standard on things there's a checklist and we start right out of the gates and I say from day one in Camp number one day one in Camp you do not false start period yeah not one of them because one false start as a freshman is like five false starts as a seconde guy one false start now you could do the same with running backs and you could say number one do not fumble because one fumble for a freshman is like five fumbles for a seconde guy yep okay so quarterbacks have the same standard now this is where it really comes in handy when your brother is an NFL quarterback and a draft pick your dad is a video analyst genius and it understands the quarterback position it has for years and you've got access to some of the best quarterback coaching whether it's on this current team or it was in your high score wherever you've got your quarterback access and you know what your standards are so I would say number one not a single false start because that'll bench a freshman that'll put you third that'll start to lower you fourth two of them and you might as well just chalk it up that you're not going to be playing yeah so number one you can't have a false start number two let's say he's going for the offensive tackle position number two at no point in this entire Camp can you give up your inside leverage ever not once I'll let you run the hoop I'll let you get beat with speed I'll give you outside Rush all day the one thing I'm not going to do as a freshman offensive tackle is let anybody beat me across my face and get to inside Gap number one no off sides number two we're not getting cross our face not giving up the inside Gap and when you start to build these things because of what we know about football and you put it in in front of Jim Harding or you put it in front of Kyle Winningham or you put it in front of um Andy lwig You' got to understand what it is that makes you look polished enough as a true freshman that I can trust you to be QB number two and it's obvious he did it yep and and I think we all know what it is you can't turn it over yeah that's that's number one for Kyle he's not going I mean you're that's number one for quter you're already a little bit behind the eightball when you're a true freshman yeah now the fact that he showed up in January certainly helps his case he's able to go through Spring ball but Kyle Whittingham if there's one thing we know about him he cannot handle turnovers because he knows he has elite special teams and he knows he has Elite defense every year you can set your watch to it great defense great special teams offense always a little shaky here and there but with Cam Rising you feel a little bit more comfortable if Cam's out then it comes down to run the football protect the football play great defense play great special teams and will still win the majority of games and will still be right there for a chance to win a conference Championship they've won Pack 12 titles they've got Rose bows with that philosophy run the football protect the football play great defense play great special teams that is a time honored Tradition at the University of Utah and if you have a quarterback in there whether he's a senior or a true freshman that you're worried about turning the ball over he will not see the light of day he won't even touch the field yeah and so he's got to feel comfortable that Isaac Wilson won't turn the ball over so next thing why is this Proclamation so big and so bold well and probably tougher to do than what we're giving kaam credit for which was naming his number two quarterback unabashed and very prophetically you stand the true risk of losing Brandon Rose yes he's going to transfer and he's just a sophomore and he's 6'2 he's a big body and he's a high Prospect and I'm sure that there are tons of things that they love about him but we just named a freshman the number two above this guy that was fighting to potentially be number one at one point and now he's number three or maybe number four behind hu because as you heard Kyle right there we're not ready to talk about threes and fours but we got you one and we got your two so you stand the risk of losing Brandon Rose but you know what you can't sit there and wallow in that fear you've got to be bold because you've gotten where you are because the decisions you've made and you've put your foot down you you make that decision yeah I mean look let's be honest if Cam stays healthy and Isaac stays number two Brandon will enter the portal in December in January December whenever it opens up he will and that's fine he's totally his right and I'm sure his DMS are blowing up right now from schools being like hey man they did you dirty just know we were on you during the recruiting process we still have a spot for you we'll love you up get on in here let's get you going and and that's cool that's the world he's in and he has totally has that right um and Kyle understands that too and that's why you got to make sure that heward's going to be ready to go or whoever you have you coming down the pipeline I'll tell you where I get a little bit nervous with Utah now they're going to have to go portal shopping after this year because oh yeah they're going to lose cam Rising yeah they're going to lose Sam hu they're going to lose Luke batari and why do I say Luke barari well we've seen him have to step in and play him quarterback forgot about that oh yeah so you lose Rising Huard batari probably Rose because you've named Wilson I forgot huard's only got the one year yeah yeah so right now you've got Wilson yep that's it and as a true freshman named the number two he's pretty much being named the air parent that's hard to go get a guy when he knows well GH I got the Golden Boy here I don't know if I can are you really going to give me a real shot to compete against this guy yeah which is going to be a fair thing to wonder so after this year there there's going to be a some pretty tough things yeah answer to and to deal with head coach Morgan SC is going to have himself some decisions to make and by the way and by the way I bring this up because I want to emphasize the difficulty of doing what KY Wham just did yeah yep you know how not easy that is you just you've got to know that's why I'm pretty sure Isaac Wilson has separated himself quite a bit from Brandon Rose because you don't make that Proclamation just like Yu hasn't made that proclamation of the starting quarterback you don't make that Proclamation unless you really um with that said we are now deep inside the 15 uh top 15 of the top 60 and 60 we are down to number 14 so let's get to it this is the top 60 and 60 60 as the Zone counts you down to the start of the 2024 college football season and now it's time for today's election as voted on by the local sports media and you the fans as a freshman the next election started 12 games last year for the youths along the offensive line as he established himself as a dominant Force for Utah and now he's expected to have an even better season this year coming in at number 14 from the University of Utah 6'5 305 lb of defensive lineman Spencer funo University of Utah head coach Kyle winam Spencer funo started for us last year all season long at left tackle as a true freshman which is uh not not an easy task we're going to move Spencer over to the right side this year looking for a big season out of Spencer tremendous athlete great foot speed everything you want in an offensive tackle that is Spencer this is the top 60 and six presented by fstar painting on 975 the KSL Sports Zone hands um you were there recording Kyle Whittingham on this audio I'm just going by how he sounds in the uh how how his voice sounds I wasn't there when he recorded it I got to imagine there's some people that we've heard Kyle Whittingham talk about was like yep linebacker good player need good things from him this year that's about as praiseworthy of anybody that we've heard him talk about yeah he gets animated you could tell he was very excited to talk about Spencer Foo a big offensive lineman who really held down the fort as a freshman last year really excited about what he can do this year those big uglies up front that can help him run the football he's really fired up about those guys when do we record that audio when did I grab that that was probably end of May early June I think it was two or three days we right before we uh right before we started the countdown okay so post spring you know post spring yeah I always have a hard time remembering when I get up there and get that audio from him because it's I get up there a few times so um the reason I bring that up he said in that audio we're moving him to right tackle and we're got a somebody coming in left tackle and he told me at that point that they were going to be moving Caleb lomu into that left tackle spot and he was talking to me about Caleb Lomo and Caleb Lomo did not make the list of 60 yeah because we just didn't have any film and didn't know a lot about him but he had already made that decision so you think about the decision making process from KY Whittingham he doesn't leave a lot no to well you know maybe well let's let it and we'll kind of and I don't know try it it's like he's moving to right tackle for us we've got our left tackle and this and that's exactly how it's gone yep you know that is pretty spectacular to have that recognition to be able to make those calls to shift it into gear and say this is how it's going to be and that's how it is and moving Spencer Foo to the right tackle is brilliant because that's where he played all through high school that is the most familiar hand down position for Spencer Fano he he's flourishing in it and as good as he did at left tackle as a true freshman I'm expecting him to have an all Big 12 level performance Yep this year I expect him to either be all Big 12 first or second team that's how much I agree I expect from Spencer how how difficult is it to make and now granted you know he's had spring well I don't know if they they probably start working him in there in Spring and then uh obviously all fall Camp is that really a is that is that a difficult transition for a guy to make no going from left to right no it's not that bad okay no not that bad at all in increasingly so with him having played there before at some point in his life yeah yeah now playing inside and then going outside there's some adjustments there because you're working more in space but the tackle position is all about it's all about understanding that space and knowing what the speed is that's presenting in front of you how much I need to shut off the hoop and how quick I need to shut off the inside and how my body can react to those different levels of speed it's the same as a quarterback learning the speed difference on safeties or Corners in zone and I'm gonna I'm going to try to feed this dig in let's see how quick this guy can recover off of what I see his depth and get to my dig throw and so you start to learn the speed on that and that's that's all the tackle position is and it's transitional from left to right so I don't think it's a very hard change at all all right hands and Scotty let's at least get to a good good the bad the ugly Olympics let's go back to that US Men's Basketball Gold Medal game against France now remember that was in the middle of the day on Saturday um and it averaged 19.5 million viewers on NBC and peacock that's the most watched gold medal game since the 1996 Atlanta Olympics you got to go all the way back to 1996 to get a gold medal basketball game that pulled in that kind of numbers the game peaked at 22.7 million uh viewers um the number one rated Market in America in terms of watching that gold medal game West Palm Beach Florida San Francisco number two got some Steph Curry viewers there Kansas City number three Sacramento number four Cincinnati number five interesting markets there uh you go all the way down to number 25 Salt Lake City was the 25th highest rated Market watching that gold medal game 25th yeah y with an 8.9 rating and a 47 share so what was that share is enormous that's number if you just go by share that number is number two off that B that gold medal game yeah yeah you said peak was 22 million 22.7 million yep just to help everybody have a little bit of perspective we've talked we've raved about Caitlyn Clark and her ability to draw numbers so that Iowa Yukon game yeah it drew 14.2 at its peak so big it was historic numbers I don't think will ever be touched for women's college basketball for women's college basketball um her first game as a pro that we talked a lot about because the WNBA was not getting numbers hit 2.1 million viewers so that gold medal game I think it crushed it yeah you have to go back how how far to 96 the gold medal game in the 96 Olympics all right so what brought us that's was it LeBron is it I I think wemy played a bit Steph Curry and the fact that people anticipated a good game and they got a good game and that held it and it's been going hard for two years they've typically been fighting inside a 2005 Toyota cion s c o n cion cion yeah okay so they've they've been holding their fights inide the Toyota Scion and everything is legal to use you can use a seat Bel to wrap around the neck not a big vehicle by the way no it's it's not it's not there are three rounds they are 5 minutes a piece and there is no punching no striking but essentially you need to pass somebody out or break a bone get them to stop wow okay and I did watch it this morning K Jitsu is not fun to watch it's it's horrible in a confined space dudes grabbing seat belts wrap it around necks trying to grab gese trying to pull it you know pull it through the mouth trying to stop breathing crazy armh holds so this is how they start the fight both sitting in the front seat both have the buckles on so you got to get your buck it's person that can get the Buckle off the quickest the most efficient and start into the grapple you see a lot of guys try to use the steering will to you know leverage a head or a throat against or an arm so if you're the driver does that like having homefill Advantage yes okay yep exactly so you want the driver's seat so you can utilize the steering wheel and all its mechanisms the the gear shifters and all those things you can plow their head into it and not not in a headbutting fashion but you can use your arm to push it into and and really wedge a like a like a gear shifter into a forehead or a you the blinker turning signal thing into the forehead what are we doing so couple things when the fight gets outside side of the window because you can roll down the windows and you can use open windows to try to roll people up in when it wow when you get outside of the window as soon as somebody touches the ground then it's a stoppage and you have to start back in the front seat and you start it's like wrestling and somebody goes outside the circle that's right you got to so if you're really struggling you're trying to get out yes now the third round if you do get to the third round it starts in the back seat and it starts in the back seat with both buckles on and so you just backseat third base in the back seat yes okay exactly so it's uh car Jitsu and it's the latest and greatest and it's it's hideous I saw some pretty bad arm breaks wow and some terrible chokes uh I guess would you watch it I'm gonna probably watch it during the break cuz I'm fascinated by this it is crazy watching two dudes brawl inside of a Toyota seon oh man the stuff we do for entertainment
