to turn it over to him but my my favorite thing that he does and I think he's done it repeatedly is when Congressional hearings are held you know what he has up there on some of the hearings he has up there right on the podum on the bench in front of him it is the Jim Jordan subpoena non-compliance clock and it just keeps picking and picking and picking somebody ought to take a licking behind not complying with a congressional subpoena so with that let me turn it over to uh Congressman Eric swall well thank you Glenn Anda for convening all of us uh for a cause that is worthy of celebrating here I brought uh two guests I brought my mother Vicki and my aunt Nancy my mother uh was married uh to a police officer my father uh and is the mother of two current police officers who walk the beat every single day and know what the cause of justice is I was also raised by Republicans and if I wanted my parents to see me on television I had to go on Fox News and I'm happy to continue to do that and to make the case every news station every corner of the country because I think at the end of the day we all want the same thing a rule of law that holds every person accountable no matter who you are how little how how much power you have or how little power you have we all should have to follow the same rules 73 days to go are you guys up for it you up for it we've got work to do we've got work to do we know what the stakes are we know that there is an individual who thinks he's above the law that he has absolute immunity he has at least three justices working out of his palm and there are so many rights that are on the line so many rights that have been robbed from women so many rights that have been robbed from voters so many rights that have been robbed from our children who want to be free from gun violence in their classrooms that's what's on the line and we have in our Justice Warrior KLA Harris I've known KLA for 20 years we both actually got our start as prosecutors in the same District's attorney's office the Alam County District's attorney's office and we both were trained by and subscribed to the Earl Warren code of justice because Earl Warren was the district attorney nearly 100 years ago in that office and the Mantra of that office was we don't seek wins we seek Justice she put a lot of bad guys away some of the worst people in the community but boy did she show mercy and compassion to people who were worthy of it and as Glenn knows and many of you know I know Frank FY is also here that's our job as prosecutors is to always seek Justice kamla is tough she's real most importantly she's ready and as you are all seeing she can have a little bit of fun it's okay to have a little bit of fun right now I'm having fun and bringing back joy to this journey is something that I think we all should be up for college sports is how I was able to go to college and be the first in my family to colle to graduate from a four-year University and I always saw on col sports that the team that has the most fun is the team that wins and I think that's the same in politics and right now we're having fun because we're on the right side we're on the side of justi Glen mentioned being an impeachment manager and it was actually the second impeachment there's many experiences I'll never forget Glenn from that second impeachment and as I tell h je and my colleagues who were a part of the first impeachment it was the only sequel that was better than the original but the day before we started the trial this it vendor came in to set us up in a room just off the CER floor and because it was in the midst of covid we were only allowed to have two managers on the floor the rest of us had to wait in the side and so they set up this it room for us they showed us how to work the printers how turn on the TV of course is one of the youngest on the team I asked for the Wi-Fi password and this young man from the IT team said it's under the account name network name managers and I was pretty impressed by this team because we had just impeached Donald Trump and they had set up this fully functioning room and the IT vendor team they're not partisan they they're just contractors who work for the capital and so I pulled this 20-some it you know Geek Squad guy aside after he gave us this presentation and I said you know this is pretty impressive we we just impeach the guy and you have this room that is fully functional ready to go and without any irony he looked at me and he said well you know sir we were the team that did the last impeachment and we figured you all would be back so we just left everything may we never Inspire so little confidence in the Next Generation as to who our leaders are but finally I I do want to thank uh two people who are here uh tonight uh and use their courage I hope as an inspiration for what you have to do over these next 73 days uh and that's officer Mike fenon and also Danny they are two dear friends they saved my life they saved the lives of many they allowed us to continue to count the votes and they allowed our democracy which was on life support to go on and be resuscitated and what you have to do in the next 73 days is not what they did you don't have to suit up and body armor you don't have to suffer blows to the head you don't have to have a Confederate flag taken to you as a weapon you don't have to have a cattle prod put in your neck you're not going to lose an eye or a finger as some of the officers did you're not going to lose your life in the days later you're not going to suffer a stroke or heart attack you don't have to do any of that for your democracy but if you show the same passion the same Vigor the same Integrity that they showed for our country on that day I promise you we will get out of this darkness and we will write a new better chapter for our country thank you
