"On the Move!": Queen Egbo 1-on-1 with Wes Hall

Queen egg bone number four on the team I'm curious when you found out that you were going to become a part of the Washington Mystics organization how did you get that call who is on the phone like and what was that experience like um well we were actually at the airport and I was pulled to the side and they just told me like hey Queen wait here we're gonna see if you're gonna be involved in a trade and so I was just like oh okay and they came back and told me congratulations you have been traded to the Washington Mystics and I was just like oh my gosh like what is going on it was the first time in my career so it was overwhelming I was stressed just because I was more so comfortable in Indiana I had everything there but I was really excited to be in Washington um and just getting to know the girls and having I feel like a real veteran team and being able to learn from so many different people it was a win-win for me but it just had to take that next step of being uncomfortable to grow in the way I wanted to so so you talk about this being your new home What are like the things for you that make a house a home because now you're here and you want to be here and fully invested what does it take to get you comfortable to where you feel at home my team I feel like anytime I'm really close to my team and I know them personally I'm the most comfortable or just people around me my environment I feel like every day I've grown and gotten more comfortable here and so it started to feel a little bit especially now that I have my own apartment I was in a hotel before so definitely starting to make me feel a little bit more like home but yeah you say that you year and so you're getting acclimated and you know that Shakira Austin going down is a component to doing so how do you try to replace that productivity in the front court for this team just trying to be active on defense you know Shakira brought a lot to this team she's long she's athletic she can do a lot she's versatile so just trying to kind of fill her shoes a little bit I know what I can bring to the table I know what the team needs so I feel like it's it's putting me in a more comfortable situation when I know my role and what they expect me to do rather than just throwing me into the fire they've done a really good job of like talking to me and communicating what they need for me good
