Chicago Bears Just Got Great Kiran Amegadje News

the Chicago Bears just got some great news on essentially a fringe player a guy that we've all forgotten about and that guy is offensive tackle Karan amaj man we're looking at the Bears concluding their 2024 preseason schedule this is going to be a Thursday game against the Kansas City Chiefs and um we're kind of looking at that the Bears haven't made any Declaration on whether the starters are going to play or not but this last preseason game is usually for guys On The Fringe guys trying to make the team and also guys trying to make their Mark for more playing time and to get that spot on the 53 man roster and we're looking at amaj as you guys know the 2024 third round draft pick of this last draft and man this is such good news and it looks like he might actually figure into the Bears long-term plans for the offensive line I mean he had an injury that was known when he was drafted that kept him out of training camp that kept him out of even OTAs but there was a a lot of talk from the coaching staff that amaj was their standing their um absorbing data absorbing plays um right along the sideline with the coaches and that he was such a quick study and he was in the film room and it looks like he might be able to kind of hit the ground running and Adam hodj he posted the original story on Twitter the Bears activated third round offensive tackle Karan amaji from the Mi NFI list the rookie can start practicing and uh he just put in a limited session at practice he wasn't full bore but hearing from offensive coordinator Shane Waldren before practice he said looking forward to him smart guy smart tough and reliable that can start off with a good base already but there's no substitute for getting out there and doing it that's the biggest thing and he participated in light individual drills on Monday he didn't make it onto the field for team drills but that is just huge and we're looking at kind of a light load to start and that's kind of Coach eberl's moo he has a policy of like gradually ramping up the work for players that have been out for quite some time and uh you know he's been out for the entire offseason you C you can't really blame him for being cautious but um walren and insinuated there won't be much of a ramp up period for amaj like I said he has made sure to stay on the sideline within earshot on the field taking mental reps and he's super plugged in during meetings and this is to hear from our offensive coordinator he stayed so locked in in every opportunity he's had so now it's just about going out there and doing it and if you look at this line it's it's pretty much set right I mean from left to right braxon Jones Tevin Jenkins Coleman Shelton Nate Davis Darnell right that appears to be the starting lineup and huge blessing that Nate Davis is healthy I don't know for how long if you go by previous things that have happened but it looks like the guy's healthy and dialed in and that is just incredible um and also the biggest question marks right injury to Ryan Bates that means that Shelton has gotten most of the snaps at center with the first team offense lately and um if you look at what Davis has done he's really hasn't done himself a lot of flavors right um lack of availability as coach flu says the biggest ability the best ability is availability but he was able to play on Saturday against the Bengals he struggled quite a bit but he was able to play and I think that he will get up to speed because he looked like a fantastic player with the Titans before he signed with the Bears and that's why we paid him big money so let's give him the benefit of the doubt let's pray that he is healthy and yeah that could be a really good thing but with the injury debates with the injury history of of uh man why can't I think of his name now of Nate Davis trying to put that name out of my head it seems all the more important that a player like amaji is there because he can absolutely play multiple positions I mean it's not really a big surprise that the bear selected him but it didn't really make much sense at the time because am Aaj he was projected as a as a left tackle right that's that's where he was projected in the draft with a prototypical left tackle body and it was kind of it didn't look like Ryan PS even said verbally wasn't really expecting amaj to totally contribute essentially taking a red shirt season but I think he's going to be the replacement for Jones in future Seasons I mean that might be on the board but he can also be the replacement at Right Guard the guy play both positions he's super versatile and he's just a mammoth huge human being and um if we kind of look back here and I want to take you back a little bit to a story on Wendy City grid iron let me see if I can get here um bear with me here I am my own producer here here we go you guys thank you for your patience um this story kind of goes into how um athletic trainer at exos um he went into saying what he thought about Kiran amaj and he's the physical therapy manager at exos Sports Performance training and Golf Breeze Florida he had a chance to work with amaji on a regular basis starting all the way back in December and he stated this about amaj he's honestly one of my favorite athletes to have worked with and have gotten gotten to know and um he has a physical tools obviously just a physical beast but one of the reasons he was noticed and he was put on the lineup uh on his on the radar coming into the draft is that he's simply he went to Yale so he's a smart guy but on top of that he is a guy of High character and this is a little more from Mitchell we work together on trying to get him feeling healthier and getting to a good point and we continued that from early December through March I spent more time with him than anybody else in the building and he was just a fantastically hard worker just a good kid if you guys have checked out his Twitter page he has been a Bears fan his whole life and it's actually kind of fun to look back at his post he has been living and dying by the es and flows of this franchise mostly mostly what would it be mostly flows is that the negative part oh maybe it's AB I don't know I don't care it hasn't been great and you can see by amag's social media that he has constantly posted things about his up and down relationship with the CH Chicago Bears and it is actually a lot of fun to read you guys do yourself a favor read it um we're looking at a guy who did couldn't participate in the Senior Bowl I mean he couldn't do anything but do the bench at the combine and he wasn't able to ever work with him with Mitchell at his full strength due to the injury but um a lot of some of the things that came to surface spoke loudly and Mitchell was impressed by his dedication his work ethic his coachability even though amaji wasn't at full strength with from an athletic perspective the tools were obvious when working through exercises and drills and he just gushed about the character of this kid I could tell that his strength and his power and his determination off those things I think he would have tested really well at the combine and I think he could have tested probably near the top of the offensive line group that's obviously something I'm I'm taking a guess at but he's a very athletic guy and when you do work with a lot of different people you get so you can identify traits and qualities about how someone moves even with very submaximum exercises and be able to know if they've got some papernut kiran's a guy who's definitely athletic he would have tested very well so you guys know I'm going to refresh you local kid he made good Hinsdale Illinois long-term addition size and strength combination Elite footwork for a man of his size I'd say he's a dancing bear prototyp typical NFL left tackle but he's really uh he's really in a place that he can prove himself at multiple spots I mean he's he's able to play guard he did so really effectively at Yale as well we all know the injury issues with both tev jains Nate Davis if they're blessed with good health this year the Bears have a formidable line but it also hasn't fully happened yet it's been concerning and amag gaj is such a blessing he's the perfect fit to provide insurance at either spot and high level play at that level just uh just a steal by the Bears and once again Mitchell agrees um I love his Integrity um and I've also got to mention that we've got Tory Taylor and Austin Booker also showing his huge steals as well I'm really excited for amagi's chance to hit the field possibly against the Chiefs if the Bears um allow it to happen and to just really show his worth and I think it's a fun time to be a Bears fan this is great great news on this particular player and U man Sky's a limit for this offensive line if we can get these um even the reserves healthy and the reserves contributing and a guy like Kiran amaj locked and loaded and ready to go for the regular season that's a very good thing and I hope it happens you guys bear down let me know what you think and uh hey it's been great
