it's great to talk to you love to see your character's Journey um token when he wrote The Lord of the Rings story he did not see it as a anything religious or spiritual at all uh but then when he looked back at it later from what I've read uh he saw that there was a spiritual undercurrent uh underneath the entire story do you see that at all as you're going through this story or is it uh how do you feel about that I mean I sort of feel like the the the interesting thing about acting for me is that we are given like we're given one tiny strand of an enormous story and we're custodians of that strand only like we can't influence uh each other's work um and the joy of that is that you get this whole team bringing together all these strands and then it makes a a sort of an overarching um final piece and so for me I try not to think too much about the the whole thing and try to stay with the present of the of my line and if I do I feel like if I do that to if I do that honestly and with commitment and energy and you know I pour myself into it that that will then be part of the overall um the final sort of piece the final artwork uh and then it's up to the audience to draw their conclusions from it so I think it's a bit it's a bit difficult to it's a bit difficult to get on top of for me the whole thing um and I think that might slightly skew how I try and play one tiny character because at the end of the day I'm playing a tiny part of a of a really big story uh so I try and just stay a little bit out of the way of the whole and let the the show Runners the the writers the people who are structuring that have that in their heads and and then offer it up to an audience at the end I don't know what you feel yeah um yeah no I would agree and I would also say as you say it's interesting talking looking back and then said that he found that there was undercurrent in that sense is that I I would say that perhaps that Rings true for audiences too and and as we evolve and grow and look back at stories and the seasons that we've done uh that we might look at things from a more objective point of view but when you're making it it's kind of just focusing on the truth of the story and and letting that kind of lead you
