things I thought were perfectly normal as a daughter to Immigrant parents going into work with your parents genuinely I do not think I understood the concept of a daycare until I was like 10 because my parents always brought me to work it was in a Chinese restaurant but I literally still did my homework in like the back of their office taking like two-month long vacations back to the motherland during school breaks or honestly just like taking two Monon long vacations to a place in general I used to go to Taiwan every year for summer and I would go for two months at a time I totally thought this was normal but now that I'm 25 and I understand how jobs work I'm like how are people able to take two months off to go have a vacation and most of the time they can't it was just normal for me in my childhood by the way I also know like zero pop culture before 2010 I feel like a lot of immigrant parents are very business oriented and so I thought it was normal for one parent to live where the business was located and then the other just raised a kid by themselves but they weren't divorced Apparently that is not normal or at least not very common
