the greens have postponed a special meeting to decide whether daring Tanner will be booted out of parliament Under The Walker jumping legislation Tanana sought an injunction yesterday to stop Sunday's meeting senior political correspondent Jenna Lyn joins us now Jenna what happened today yes so the special general meeting was to go out to the party membership to decide whether or not to use that wer jumping legislation not a requirement of the law but a requirement of the green party because they very much oppose this piece of legislation but pump the brakes darling Tana rocked up to the high court today seeking an injunctions to stop them from having that meeting both of the parties agreed in court to defer the matter until September the 12th so no decision on the injunction but the greens decided to postpone the meeting until after the legal matter was dealt with their explanation for that was their legal advice showed that was the best way to avoid protracted proceedings the longer this goes on the question does start getting asked is this worth it for the greens trying to use a piece of legislation they morally opposed and continuing this monthlong fight with a rogue MP Ricardo M's March the party Whip or as the greens call it masterer argues yes that they are standing on a point of principle they don't believe darling Tanner is fit to be an MP Tanner refused to comment on the case outside court today okay Jenna thank you for that update
