All right. If you are looking for an easy but thrilling series to watch, the perfect couple is now out on Netflix. It stars Nicole Kidman, Lev Shriver Dakota Fanning and many more. So this story is set in Nantucket in the harbor just hours before a very lavish wedding is set to begin when a body is discovered in the water and everyone in the wedding party is suddenly a suspect. I had the chance to talk to Lev about the series. Take a look. Am I under arrest or can I go get something to eat? They're rich, kill someone and get away with it rich. We are the perfect family love. Thank you so much for joining us here for great day Washington. Congratulations on the perfect couple. What's it like to have it out there and all the reaction coming back now it's been a treat. I, I uh you know, um, it's, it's, I, I haven't worked in a while and I was on my bike yesterday, uh uh with the kids and uh I could just see that people have been watching the show. It's been, it's been really fun to get the reactions everybody seems very positive about it. We've all been under a considerable amount of stress because of the accident. It's such a shock and we're all very upset. Your character is pretty complicated though. How involved were you in the process of putting him together? Um, uh, you know, I credit, uh Suzanne beer with everything and, and Nicole who, uh, was sort of the, the, the god godmother of this project. I'm capable of saying anything today that would pass muster with you. Well, what you're capable of and not capable of seems to be over expanding, doesn't it? I just, I've known Nicole for years and have always wanted to work with her. I didn't think it would ever happen. And, uh, this came together, I'd seen Suzanne's work on the undoing things like the night manager and just a big fan of hers and I was just really thrilled to, to work with this company. Um, and, you know, once, uh Suzanne, uh made it clear how, uh, dark and funny she thought this show was, uh, I, I was really excited to take it on. I, you could kind of see that because the opening song kind of dance that you guys do. It will be the ending of an episode that's really dark and you're like, how bad is this family? And then it comes to that opening, you're like on the beach. I remember reading somebody wrote about that, that it was, it was very unserious and I love that, that it was this very serious unserious piece. And like every time you see the dance sequence you're reminded of how chaotic this world is, which is one of the things I love about it. Yeah. Oh, I, I love that. That was part of the artistic decision. Um You mentioned Nicole Kidman. I heard there's a lot of improv and you talked about how she kind of surprised you with some of her improv. What was it like working together? I always knew she was a great actress. I just didn't know she had that depth of timing and comedy, um, and spontaneity and, you know, frankly inappropriate, you know, she did a lot of stuff that was really, really gutsy and, and fun and it kept it alive and it, and it kept us all on our toes. And I think that's the, that's the, you know, that's the obvious benefit of improv work is that it feels fresh and exciting and, and, and you're taking risks. So I was very grateful to be her scene partner. So, but I mean, but it's like that for the whole family, isn't it really? I mean, we have teamwork. Yes, teamwork. Absolutely. I mean, after I know it doesn't sound all finish each other's sentences. Did you hear that? Bless you case in point, I just gotta think that it's more than just teamwork that and a healthy sex life. I think that's, that's really important. Good to know. Good one. A beautiful location to film. Um Is this someone's actual house? Did you rent this out while you filmed? Yes, we rented it from a very nice couple in Cape Cod. Nantucket is complicated because it's an island. The, the show is actually set in Nantucket, but we shot most of it in Cape Cod, some in Los Angeles and a little bit in London as well. It's gorgeous. Was it cold? Like the wind that is constantly showing? There's a scene. Yeah, because we, we were shooting uh, early spring for summer and there is a sequence where I'm where I'm, uh, I'm polishing a kayak and I'm having a, a scene with my son and you can see that my face is literally purple. Uh I was, I was, I was very pleased to see that they left that in the show. Um My, I'm like literally frozen solid in that scene. It's such a great scene. What you say to your son right there? It's so good. Uh Thank you for your time today. Uh I, I'm sure everyone's gonna watch and just not be able to stop. Appreciate it. Thanks very much. When you said Cape Cod, I'm like Kristen. I know my favorite place. I'm really curious where they are. I did see some places in Nantucket, the Dock and everything that looks familiar, but so far I'm a few episodes in, it's really good. I got it I'm like, I need the last episode. It. Who did it? It's really good. All right. All six episodes of the perfect couple are now streaming on Netflix.
