[Music] welcome to the NRL previews for round 12 of the 2024 season and Indigenous round where we're celebrating the First Nations communities who have deep bonds with rugby league and part of the fabric at all levels of the game I'm Renee gner I'm joined by Josh Reynolds to unpack all the games this weekend and we kick off in on Saturday in the nation's capital with the Raiders and roosters let's go to the Raiders first I'm obviously dressed for the occasion so let's take a look they've been making attack uh for the top of the ladder there's two wins back to back uh rer and tapar have both been cleared to play plus you then add all this youth that have just been breathing so much life back into this Raiders outfit well they've already this time of year camber already have the one up on you because it's freezing here and when you just have to travel down to cam it's double trouble so they've already got the upper hand but they had no right to beat the dogs last week at Magic ground and two players in the bin but they just find a way they are the ultimate Scrappers but one thing I feel they actually are too they they counter punch like no one else so they exuberate pressure exuberate it all and then as soon as it's their time they go bang they went up the they you know dogs had a few sets on their line held them out and then they went baging score down the other end and not many teams can do that uh and then you just add the likes of Ethan strange probably up there to one of my favorite players at the moment he just takes everyone on he doesn't care who you are he'll just take you on and yeah got the combination of Hudson young with that as well too and he's I just love him that's why I want origin team like I just he doesn't take a backward step from anyone and I think that's what we need and I think that's why cam win a lot of games because they know what their identity is they don't try and be like the roosters and be special they know what they they got and they're a great team to watch all right well let's go over to the roosters that you've just mentioned as well too uh attack wasn't a concern for Trent Robinson uh coming out of the game but they need to be working on their defensive efforts they they leaked 38 points in the last week's game and that was a big frustration for robo going into it yeah they lost the shootout didn't they uh a great game though I will say from a spec spectator's point of view but yeah I understand what Rober is saying because the thing is with the roosters I feel even when I actually see sometimes their sets you know they get a little bit off course and they sort of don't know where they're going on sometimes but it doesn't matter because all they got to do is you know give so or give Manu a bit of early ball they'll take on their Center flick past try and if doesn't work you've got TS and do young in the corners just to you know put one on their head and they can score so that's not the problem but Robo obviously means in big games like that which is a big one boys yes we can score 30 but we can't let in 30 or 28 and that's what it mean the roosters are going to be a massive threat this year but they will need a tighten up against those teams that are going to match them up front as the Sharkies did last week so who how would you say this game's going to be won between these two look the roosters I feel the roost I'm tip of the roosters I feel they'll win but camra will honestly give them give them a game it will not be an easy game camra will try and bring the roosters down to their level at home and you you offer me seaing so I'm sticking with the roosters got him finally and one all right thank you very much unmissable matchups taking place all weekend if you want to see this match live head to nrl.com ticks and if you can't get to the game you can watch it on foxtale Sky New Zealand or KO kick off is at 300 p.m. a [Music]
