Nelly Korda fires a 68 (-4) to move into the lead | AIG Women's Open

is it not yes yeah mhm obviously you got quite calm for the first couple hours the day but then the wind picked up again just talk about the challenge yester yeah I mean I warmed up in the rain um yesterday it was just brutally windy throughout you know the range session to about probably 16 and then today it was raining for a good bit I mean during my range session and then up until probably my second or third hole and then it was pretty calm the front nine and then once we got to probably I think actually 18 and number one that's when it started to kind of start pumping but um yeah just adjusted um didn't really take advantage of kind of the calmer conditions on my front nine the back nine but I played some really solid Golf and I'm really happy with that yeah we have a good relationship right now yeah what you hit in there again today I hit a controlled seven iron in and I just barely got it on top and made a longer put today as pitch and run a little bit down the yeah I uh I was practicing it during the one of the practice days and I was hitting with a pitching wedge but I was a little closer to the green and I just thought that um maybe a nineiron would suit better but since it was downwind kind of got a little hot on me and um went by a good bit but happy with the putt yeah did you make any changes to your bag week um yeah my putter I just have I put a new putter in the spider I just needed to look at something different and um it's it rolls really nicely um I'm very pleased with it um so I have no complaints no I had a square back yeah yeah a little bit of a mallet no they're exact same they're matched up specs completely the same they're just obviously different heads this one's definitely a mallet yeah do you feel like you have your your major back a little bit after these um I'm just trying to stay very present and not think about anything other than you know one shot at a time and whatever you know Golf and Lynx golfs throws at me I'll I'm going to take it head on it easier yeah I think when the conditions are a little tougher I mean expectations and golf you know Norm in a sense normal golf is thrown out the window and you're just trying to play the wind there there forame yeah for sure and you know there's um so much support for Charlie here it's incredible to see and the fans and the crowds have been amazing thus far and I can't wait to see what the weekend holds yeah [Music] for sure I mean I think just this year in general I've I've won on just so many different types of also grasses and in different types of conditions that you just kind of always have to adapt I mean that's the same thing in tennis same thing in life you're always adapting to your situations at hand and I think that's what's so fun about Lynx golf is like you're literally starting at like 30 yards left of your Target and you I'm not a fade player but I'm hitting massive Fades and I just think it's fun hitting like these little low drivers too so I'm I'm having fun and I enjoy Lynx golf a lot and obviously every year that I get to play it I learn a little bit more about it too um sure I I think I'm I'm more adapted the mindset of literally just taking it a shot at a time not thinking ahead of myself and trusting my lines a lot I mean you're literally hitting Slingers and I mean I hit a Hybrid 150 yards today on hole number two which that's like my 200 Club so it's all about just trusting the process and trusting what you have in your hand first my first ever link golf uh yeah the first time I ever played Links Golf was my rookie year Kings Barnes just on the road here no never no I never played any of those you want more of the same over the weekend more of the same weatherwise over the weekend that shoot you I whatever it throws at me I'll just adapt to it yeah yeah it honestly it rolls really nicely the greens being pretty slow due to the weather here they're rolling about like a 94 um I just wanted something that I just needed something different to look at sometimes you just need to switch it up and um it's been working really well and it's rolling off the face really really well it's my first time ever putting a tailor made putter in play as a pro I used to have one when I was in junior golf but you know I've won so many times this year with the putter that I had and I just wanted to kind of look at something different yeah I mean um you have a lot of 30f Footers I feel like 50F Footers out here CU you're hitting it into the wind so and then also you know the one that I had on uh my 17th hole of the day number eight it was probably like a 20f footer and I hit it almost like a 40-footer so it's all about just distance control out here and kind of getting it within a certain range so you have an easy to putt um since brenon but I've had it way before that I have a lot of Putters same like I've changed like different weights and such but before that I've I've used it for a while yeah no I think I've just learned from every situation I don't think any single time I've changed Putters has been a mistake no I just honestly I just gave them my putter to match up to my the spider that I'm using right now and when they matched it up my specs and I never even looked back like I just thought it was a really good Putter and I've putted with it since Wednesday but I mean I had a different one A little lighter um last week in Prague they made me are we good thank you thank you
