The Voice of a Generation - Superbad (In 5 Minutes)

intro gangsters what's up guys in today's episode I'm going to channel my inner 9mm and rapid fire my way through the iconic and Timeless lessons to be learned from this classic comedy and hopefully in record time let's go I got The voice of a generation to catch a glimpse of these warlocks Let's Make a [Music] Move super bad is Iconic and today I'm going to break down why I think this movie is the voice of a generation and what we can still learn from it plus maybe some of the movie's best moments and we'll get all into it but first super bad follows Seth played by Jonah Hill Evan played by Michael Sarah and Fogle played by Christopher mince plassy as they embark on a journey to celebrate their last high school party in style and hopefully win over the ladies their pining for by buying booze Superbad / Themes for the party and cementing their reputation as high school legends let but of course it's never that simple Mike Snider's ID always works Soul mine man Mike Snider's ID doesn't have one [ __ ] name on it part of this movie's appeal to teenagers and young adults in the mid 2000s is the film's endless supply of quotable lines both written and improvised by the cast and filmmakers these lines perfectly and oddly charmingly captured many of the thoughts that we had at that age but couldn't Express without sounding like Fogle talking to the police how old are you MCL old enough old enough for what party there's an awkward authenticity to these actors and their performances that resonates with The Unbecoming teenager in all of us we're going to get our drinks on we're going to party and get crunk and rock out it's not too bad I mean it should be okay no I'm not too worried about it really don't worry about it I'm not worried at all the [ __ ] I'm getting that for show you guys know a guy named Jimmy you totally look like his brother mlov mlen mlov that was between that and Muhammad why the [ __ ] would it be between that and Muhammad that's badass it is badass I flip my boner up into my waistband it hides it and it feels awesome the film was written by now legendary comedy writing Duo Seth Rogan and Evan Goldberg who wrote this film in high school and Loosely based it on themselves this explains why the movie felt so real and relatable to us as high school students about to enter the real world and looking back on those years is always slightly uncomfortable and hilariously awkward hence why this movie stays funny on the rewatch people don't forget do you want to hear the best part themes like out growing your childhood friends and being afraid to face it or the pressure of not entering adulthood as a virgin are at the core of every adolescent High School experience and as such they remain at the center of our memories of the Glory Days by the time College rolls around I'll be like the Iron Chef of pound and vage the Brilliance and what sets this movie apart from others like it is the added perspective of officers Slater and Michaels all you guys take note that's how you take down a [ __ ] that's right see as teenagers we relate to Seth and Evan and maybe we had a friend that reminded us too much of McLovin I told her what time it was but as adults we're the nostalgic adults wanting to go back to the most fun memories of our childhood when we sign in a liquor store today we just I guess we saw a bit of ourselves basically the movie made sure to relate to the kids that loved it then and the adults we became who love it now makes me feel young again realistically this movie could be compared to other runchy teen comedies that came before it like porkys Revenge of the Nerds Animal House Wet Hot American Summer or even American Pie but this movie is remembered for its ability to transcend the generation and truly appeal and relate to audiences of all ages that's the coolest [ __ ] story I've ever heard in my entire life that's insane can I hear it again well guys that was super bad and hopefully just under 5 minutes this movie is a Outro classic and one for the books if you're ever looking for a quick laugh bye [Music] [Applause] [Music]
