J mu Homecoming fans want no tricks but only treats from their dukes this afternoon as the dukes begin the second half of the see a schedule with today's homecoming contest against the Rams of Rhode Island obviously very pleased with the way our team came out played today thought that we had a very good bye week but we had a great week of practice and I was I was a little worried about being too jacked up you know they won't cover sworn-in and you know we had a meeting at the hotel I think they're 15 minutes early the team meeting and everybody's in there but the bounce off the wall so I knew they were tired of practicing rate of play and they came out and played you know the big thing we really challenged them to do you know last night and we talked about all this week was we felt like we had not played a complete game maybe since Morehead State you know where we really finished the ballgame and so we wanted to start fast and just you know really play well all day long not but they came out and did a great job with that in all three phases today I think one thing that really helped us was we got our legs underneath us playing seven games in the road take a toll on anyone especially in the lead that we play in we know that that kind of catches up to you eventually so just coming off a bye week and having like fresh legs and having the ability to work on the tiny things we did during our firing really helped us I think that's what you saw us really quicken today that's something that we really stress to our offense and just to start fast and to everyone go out there and compute your job and when we do that I think it really carries us through the rest of the game it kind of sparks momentum for us of our defense for a special team so I think when we can start fast like that it definitely helps her entire team well you know we talked about so much I think the kids I mean really New Hampshire that fourth quarter has really kind of just sat like a real just bad feeling with them for you know a couple of weeks now and and it really ticked them off just the way that we finished that ballgame and so I think that was a lot of motivation there to where they you know really you know keyed in and listened and certainly they were hearing a message every time they came off the field they're hearing the same message you know next plate you know don't worry about scoreboards we're about the next play keep your foot on the gas and so I thought they did a good job a good job with that it gives you momentum going into it you know we're not sitting here talking about you know somebody coming back on us or anything like that we're talking about you know a game where you know we had to we had to pull the reins back there at the end so it certainly gives us a lot of momentum going into the next game excited to get the win excited to get the win on Homecoming for us so many alumni and fans and everyone coming back to Jay mu and some of them maybe seeing us play for the first time this year and so certainly that makes it a little more special you know having all those folks back here on campus
