that more there's some crazy plays that could come off in this game I personally am rooting Andys Game Plan for them when it gets to a certain point in the game plan we're going to hit that coming up later as well as the idiosyncrasies and the standouts from the depth chart first unofficial one was released yesterday we'll go over that in detail coming up next but we start with what Andy's plan is for preseason game number one and it comes from the fact that there's only three these days and I think we're all still getting used to that I think the staff still are too he made some comments yesterday when he enveed unve um concept of you kind of have your roster set after the first preseason game you generally set it then you see what happens in preseason game number two and that pretty much locks it after that anything in preseason game number three where you're not going to see a lot of the starters for very long it's it's those just wow plays the only thing that can really move the needle there so it's much more compressed what he said today was that his plan is to let everybody play in kind of a quarter segment one's in the first quarter backups in the second the three should start the second half and then the fourth on the depth chart should get the fourth quarter now that's all well and good said and gone but there's going to be a lot more rotation to that so you're going to see some overlap in that kind of thing and I personally don't expect the starters especially on offense to play the full force quarter I'd like to see a drive out of Patrick Mahomes and maybe four or five passes what do you think and what are you expecting I'm really curious to see what they do because I think that this is a situation where they actually need to maybe have momes in for most of the first quarter uh it's going to be I know that they generally haven't done that in the past and that leads to me thinking that maybe they won't this time but you have so many different weapons on this team that you need to get acclimated and you need to get on the same page and they all need to get an idea of what this game is going to be like playing for the Chiefs uh I do think it would make a lot of sense to get you know Hollywood out there and Xavier out there and rasid rice and M with momes uh for you know two drives uh and they've done two drives before when they haven't been successful but I'm talking like a second Drive potentially uh after going down and scoring maybe you come out for another Drive uh and see what you can get done so I'll be curious to see if it happens uh it also wouldn't shock me if it's a situation where you have everybody playing except for Mahomes and maybe Kelsey uh after the first drive because they've done that several times uh and actually in some ways that would actually work to their advantage because you need to get uh Carson Wentz some snaps with those guys so he has that experience and I do think that that's important he since he hasn't been playing in Kansas City for long for very long agreed that building that connection is critical and I do think that that's something that they should look at as far as the the rotations there's always going to be some overlap because you're not just going to play three receivers in the first half you're not just going to play three corners in the first quarter qu whatever it is there's going to be some some I don't want to say conditioning because they're in shape they've been practicing but game speeds a step up and there's going to be some more churn so what I'm really interested in is you're going to see the top three at both those outside positions roll onto the field but who's the first guy off the bench my expectation is it's probably Justin Watson but maybe it's not on the wide receiver side my expectation is that it's probably Jaylen Watson on the corner side but I don't know if he might even get a start there's several things there that we're going to have to pay particular attention to when it comes to the outside positions and you talk about Jaylen Watson I I messaged this out on our Insider line earlier I'm not sure he plays in this game mainly because he has been practicing he got off the non- contct but it's still pretty quick from when he's coming back from his injury I don't know if they actually Haven him play in this game if if they do fine I mean they have a better idea of where he is than I do I'm just kind of guessing that they're not going to have him play but since we're talking about it I wouldn't expect to see Nick Bolton who didn't practice uh Kary Stony didn't practice Chris Jones didn't practice uh there's several guys that I would not expect to see let's see Bolton Chris Jones uh jiren Hayek Kelvin Joseph and Tony uh sway Boseman got hurt in hyper accented his knee and I'm also throwing Toney and naughty in that boat I don't think Toney plays uh I think that's pretty obvious but I also don't think Derek nauy plays after just coming off the injury list uh I would expect him to get gets next week that's just my guess sure could be wrong but based on injuries that's kind of where I'm at right now yeah I agree with you especially on tun and naughty no reason to rush those guys back plenty of experience there and you got other things that you need to evaluate um the question is going to be for me King Su miti is going to get all the one reps with the tackles uh with the the offensive line at left tackle not not a problem not crazy thought right but one Morris had a knee injury today he ended up pushing through the practice right so what I want to see is does he get left guard reps is he actually ready to go what can they do where W and when he plays is going to be really critical for me well and does he play I mean that's the other question he went back into practice uh we don't know we haven't heard anything as of this recording whether or not something more comes from that knee injury obviously it was a knee injury that is potentially pretty big but since he went back in you would think that he's probably going to be okay and probably going to play uh and I agree with you I think that it's going to be curious to see if he gets in there and plays left guard next to suam Mata uh you know and the other question really becomes do you leave suam Mattia in there a little bit longer knowing that these are really his first reps going up against people that he hasn't been practicing against uh and he is a rookie it could be good for him to get some of that time I I agree like I could see a little bit of a elongation of his time in there just to get exposed and to work with the twos a little bit more uh hopefully get a little bit lower level of competition had a good day out against George kofus and mik Dana today so he's definitely progressing now tomorrow folks we're going to break down and give you our our in or out on will guys get this season I'm excited because uh you know an unofficial depth chart is an unofficial depth chart particularly in Kansas City but it does give you some information that will stand out and kind Depth Chart of make things a little bit different so I'm going to bring that up for folks if you're listening on audio make sure you go back and subscribe to the YouTube channel so you can see this as well and uh we're just going to take a look at it together uh and see what stands out um nothing surprises me about the starting wide receivers being Hollywood Brown and Rashi rice um that makes perfect sense the backups quote unquote if you're only in uh two receiver sets being Xavier worthy and Justin Watson that's pretty much exactly what we thought after that it gets a little interesting doesn't it yeah it does and I'm kind of interested they've also changed up the way that they're doing these because it used to be that they used to have three wide receivers listed and three CBS listed and I don't think that's the way that if I remember correctly because I looked at this earlier today that's not the way they did CBS either right they only have two so they changed up completely the way that they they did this yeah yeah they they're in base Personnel in both with a three linebacker starting list and a two Corner starting list and I will tell you why here in just a minute folks because I'm a little bit overly excited about it but on offense after the top four it comes down to this listing putting Sky Moore ahead of micole Hardman who's ahead of kader's Tony at one position and Justin Ross being ahead of NCO ramio and Cornell Powell on the other side uh now again when you're playing 11 personnel that all kind of mixes together um but these Five Guys now five guys playing for two spots by my mind what catches You by surprise here well I mean there's six but uh yeah it's going to be it's it's a battle I don't really okay sorry Cornell there's only oh I get what you're saying I missed it sorry little missed that you're right Cornell is not gonna make the team uh but the other there's another guy on here that's that is not on your list because he's back over to the other side side it's mant Washington who's been making more plays than Cornell Powell uh and Kyle sheets and then you know Philip Brooks and jiren Hayak uh Washington's been looking great in Camp whenever he's been getting chances you look at what it's going to mean for the rest of the guys uh you know the five that you were talking about it's hard uh you I looked at I talked about the Sal cap the only way I think that they get rid of Tony this year is if they trade him uh because they're going to be on the hook for his money regardless now it's only $2 and5 million dollars so maybe I'm wrong on that but uh mle Hardman doesn't have any guaranteed money uh skymore they could basically save I think double what they would lose in in dead cap space so uh to me I think the and it's not a ton of money on skymore either so to me it looks like a situation where probably kader's Tony is five and I still think ncoic rigio is ahead of Justin Ross because I think he's going to be a kick Turner um I completely agree with you now as you reviewed this what else stood out to you um because I'm not gonna I'm not gonna lay it out there yet well obviously uh Su matii in LT1 I mean that stands out to me because uh we've been saying that since day one that we thought he was going to be the starter well not day one but pretty close uh in OTAs that he was going to be the starter and uh I think that that's probably cemented at this point they don't generally put rookies in that uh in in the starting position unless they're going to be that guy so I think that he's really got that uh and if you look at some of the Reps that people have been putting on on X he's looking better and better with every single snap that he takes so I do think that there's a lot there cindo being LG2 uh I'm not going to buy that I'm not going to say that that's wrong I'm just going to say I'm not sure that that ends up being the case because you're putting people in with Hunter NORAD and CJ Hansen and other guys that could be playing and they're uh they're being listed at other positions so is it possible he's LG2 yeah possibly it could also be that Hunter NORAD is going to be LG2 and but he's the backup center so they're going to list him there so right uh to me that's those guys are flipping I think and could play either role right absolutely uh but the one that really sticks out to me is is Clyde is still rb2 and I still don't think that based on everything I've seen in Camp and everything that's been reported that's the case he is like because he's got a guaranteed contract but yeah and the experience I don't think I don't think we think he's going anywhere but generic Prince has been taking all the the bulk of the reps with the ones while Clyde's either been sidelined or just in the rotation uh and a little bit surprising to me was the ingrams listed above L ree damit um good for him but the big thing that stood out to me is not only ammani Bailey having disappeared but for the first time in the comeback Trail folks there's a fullback listed on this roster his name's Carson steel and we're almost back we are this close I will say this Andy had some nice comments about him as well he's listed as a fullback but we know that he can run the ball as well he did that successfully at UCLA and uh Andy did point that out so Andy sees Carson steel exactly how I do and I'm really intrigued to see when he touches the ball and what that looks like in this game yeah and I had somebody asked me on X about Clyde Edwardson whether or not he could be on the practice squad he is eligible obviously to be on the practice squad uh but again I think the thing that keeps him and I know the experience you would think would keep him but I think the other thing that keeps him is he's got a guaranteed contract so they' basically have to pay him another $200,000 Plus for uh on top of what they're paying him for his base salary so I think he's on this roster uh even though I don't know how they're going to keep everybody that they want to right yeah I mean when you look at the defensive side not a lot stands out to me here the top four corners being exactly who we think they are um in McDuffy Williams Watson and nazy Johnson that's listed as we expect what gets a little interesting is that uh that you have Jack Cochran in there at Middle with Kur Jacobs on the side cam Jones not listed in second tier uh that's a bit of a surprise to me but that's recently changed I think in the last few days he's getting less reps we're going to see what's going on there I'm intrigued to see how he plays uh Mikana Turk uh up front with uh Chris Jones obviously don't think Chris Jones is gonna play but that's due to the the naughty thing and Neil phell listed as a backup tackle not a third Stringer another thing to keep an eye on maybe you're going going end up being right but the last thing that really stands out to me yeah I it's all a starting place right especially with this many guys on the defensive tackle group out the thing that really stands out to me is though he was listed behind Justin Ross on the wide receiver dep chart niik Romo listed as the primary kick return specialist and I think that is telling not maybe in the depth chart at wide receiver but about who has a shot at the 53 yeah and I think that makes a lot of sense Justin Ross is probably a better wide receiver than nikar uh but again it's it doesn't come down to that it comes down to who's going to be able to contribute to your team and I don't think that they can keep that I don't think that there's any way they can possibly keep seven receivers this year um and I've said this from the start if if rice was suspended maybe you could get another guy obviously at that point but I but it sure looks like he's not going to get suspended before the season starts there's not even a a trial date for his situation one of the things that sticks out to me is tamari Connor being that uh third corner there uh which makes sense behind aie Johnson uh based on the fact that they're in a base defense and they're not showing uh you know their three wide receivers or three corners which was something you kind of mentioned that you were going to talk about and you excited about earlier but you haven't gotten into yeah I I think you know we'll save that for the next segment because uh there's a lot there to unpack but that's our first look at the depth chart of what I think is going to be something that is very malleable so so not only Game Time are there going to be crazy plays but there might be some crazy changes we're going to get to that coming up next Summer's in full swing and we're getting ready for football season it doesn't matter whether you're a lot of fun this is fun too we're going to get into some the craziness right here but just to to Echo what you were uh finishing the last segment about I do think it's a little bit crazy but we heard Patrick Mahomes kind of hint at it today in that this designation of uh Bas Personnel on both sides is something that Patrick emphasized today knowing that yeah we're gonna we're gonna throw the Deep balls we're gonna take our shots but when they move back we're going to throw those intermediate routes and we're going to run the ball and that's what he said purr right out of the the horse's mouth today and maybe that's what's leading us towards uh uh toward this this different lineup with only two listed wide receivers and two listed Corners interesting it shouldn't shock me that that is why you so excited about it is because he said he's going they're going to run the ball um that that is so on brand uh for what what we're talking about and and you know I get it to an extent it's just it's so different than what they've done in the past when you start looking at dep charts and maybe this is just something that they're going to do for the preseason and then it'll be different once the regular season starts we'll see uh but it also makes it a little bit more confusing to me because then you start getting in a situation where you are questioning okay who's going to be in when you know when you get into four five and six who is your four five and six because it's a little bit easier to break it out if you start looking at okay well here's our top three and then here's the next four five and six where are those guys going to be where are they going to line up and I think that there is I I don't know that Kansas City is going to focus on it but I do think that there is obviously going to be a slot corner or slot receiver uh position on this team and it's going to be curious to see who's going to fill that on a regular basis uh I would expect it's going to be worthy that's just kind of what we've seen um but it may not always be worthy so who else is going to be there that that's yeah right is is Nico going to be that that type are they going to look at him in that respect I would guess that's kind of probably where he would end up being sure that makes perfect sense and and to Crazy Plays take it to our topic that player might be in position to receive some of the craziness that I do believe is going to go on this season it's been hook and laders City this week Travis Kelce wants to pitch this ball like there is nothing I'm more certain of in in this training camp is that he wants to pitch this ball more the whole play against the bills to Tony that got called back last year I think he's still pissed about it he still thinks about that so could worthy or rominho be one of the guys that catches that outside of obviously uh the running backs um that's one crazy play that I think we might even see this coming week and certainly this season but it's not the only one what else do you like about some crazy plays and which ones have you seen that you think they might actually use I don't know that they'll use any this week because they usually go pretty vanilla uh I do think they're going to try to take some deep shots but the one that I saw that was really interesting on W was Patrick Mahomes completed a behind the back pass in practice to PCO for a touchdown yeah hey it's preseason let's Behind the Back Pass let's go for it I I want him to pull that out now and just see if it's viable why not you got nothing to lose right it's just crazy that we're talking about somebody actually doing a behind the back pass in an NFL game and like he's done it like he he shows that he can do it and he's done it and kind of drills it at times but he's never done it in 11 on1 this was actually an 11on 11 snap where it was one of those situations where in the past it's been Pacho or Clyde or somebody like that or even jet uh McKinnon I think was supposed to get one in the Super Bowl when they threw it out to Hardman out wide uh where it's one of those plays where the running back basically goes up and gets right next to the goal line turns around and Mahomes pitches it to him for a touchdown usually uh that was the type of play that this happened on so it's going to be fun he's going to pull it out at some point in some game and that isn't a very long pass uh but there's a guy out there James Palmer's out there tweeting about how he seen Mahomes complete some deeper passes with his behind theb back passes and some longer passes with his behind the back passes and I know Ryan's just sitting there cringing but it's fun we'll see it's going to happen at some point really if you go back and watch uh his first start against the Broncos that was almost a situation that pass where he switch it over to his left hand that was almost a situation where he could have done a behind the back pass true I mean he's evolving even qb1 can get better let's let's get after it um I'm not sure if I'm ready to see that are you guys do you want to see the behind the back thing are you are you ready for this we we'll
