This morning. The CDC is telling us there have been 57 confirmed listeria linked illnesses in 18 states including Georgia. Now, people who eat Listeria, tainted food can get listeriosis which can be especially dangerous for pregnant women and the elderly. So among the symptoms, fever, headache and nausea, the CDC says this is the US s largest Listeria outbreak since the one was linked to Cantaloupe in 2011. At least eight people have died after being infected with listeria from boar's head deli meats. The CDC says the new death toll includes two deaths in South Carolina plus one each in Florida, New Mexico and Tennessee. At least 57 people have been sick and taken to the hospital because of this outbreak. The food poisoning outbreak led to the recall of more than 7 million pounds of boar's head deli meats including ham beef, salami bologna, and more.
