welcome to Boon picking Stadium Still Water Oklahoma home to the Cowboys of Oklahoma State Pistol Pete ready to start firing those pistols for the battle we have in store today we have one of those games that test your focus top 25 team against an unranked opponent can you take care of business as we'll see a squad from the SEC the Arkansas Razer backs taking on the 18th ranked team in the land the Oklahoma State Cowboys for EA Sports college football I ree Davis joined here in the booth by David poock and Jesse Palmer and guys let's get this thing [Music] [Applause] started and the Cowboys will kick it off to get us underway he'll start the return inside his spot really disciplined job by the coverage unit to got down there and make the stop at the 19 so the Arkansas Razorbacks offense takes the field for the first time today and here comes the big fella a staple of this aerial attack Jesse and he's a guy that can line up all over the field David there's matchups out there waiting to be taken advantage of yeah and it's so nice to be able to do that it makes it easy to play quarterback when you can feature a guy like this that's fast big and strong and he gets it to the 44 yd line it'll be a first down now and I love right out of the gate this offense is going to be creative and they're going to try to get their best players the football out in the open field you saw it right there the Razer backs will hustle to the line from the gun the running back tries to hit the hole and I think they'll give him two on that one second and eight coming up and offenses want to continue to feature the Run they want balance even if it's not super successful you can take it little bit at a time just to keep that defense honest this crowd trying to make life miserable for this offense looking for a crease to the left they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one linebackers have such an amazing responsibility got to play run got to play pass how about this seeing the Run aggressively getting downhill and getting in the back field and making the tackle for a loss better find the ear pluged here comes the noise backing this defense on third down the play action fake slings it downfield all kinds of room to throw that one in there they just gashed the defense on that one they've got it down to the 23 well after that last play you can see how electrifying this guy is and how specially is after he makes the catch if I'm on offense I'm trying to find a lot of ways to get him touches in this this game and the Razer backs are rolling down the field to the air on first down he makes a grab takes it to the house touchdown Arkansas you want to talk about a great way to start the game and set the tone early it's so nice to have a quarterback just get himself into the game and get himself established you make a couple throws you lead your offense down the field you score right off the bat could not have been a better start for that QB now they'll line up for what they hope is automatic and he's got the extra point and it's 7 nothing to start this one a very efficient five playay scoring Drive and they finish it off with a touchdown toss from the 23 they're just about ready to kick it [Applause] away he'll bring it out from inside his own 10 really disciplined job by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the 19 the Cowboys offense will go to work for the first time when you have a weapon like this on the outside and a guy in the secondary whose job is to take everything away it's going to be a great match up up guys it's so fun to see how you attack great safeties in the middle of the field are you willing to do that or you going to try to live on the perimeter this offensive matchup will be great yeah normally you'd say receiver versus safety the receiver is going to win this safety though got the speed to run with this guy and he's going to make it interesting back there after getting knocked back to open this drive it's second and 12 back to pass it's Bowman gets out fast they stop him almost immediately short gain there and still a little ground cover to pick up the first glass half full glass half empty guys obviously great they got a completion you prefer that over incompletions or interceptions but glass half empty I mean they made that third down a bit more manageable but not by much they line up with some serious work to do if they want to convert this one and the incomplete pass will bring up fourth down it's so nice when you know it's third and long you know a pass is coming you worked on it all week get your feet set at the sticks understand that quarterback's got to be rushed get him off of his spot nice execution by this defense the Cowboys will punt this one away the punter going to get his first work of the afternoon he only needs a sliver of daylight looking for Running Room he'll get it to the 43 yd line before he stops and Arkansas ready to send out this offense Jesse looking to take it down the field for back-to- back touchdowns I think it's really important for them moving forward to to have a lot of balance right you want to be able to keep this defense guessing call yeah and you got me searching for answers after that last drive you stack another drive on top of this their defense's heads are going to be spinning all over the place after losing a couple on that last play here's second and 12 he's looking to throw quick completion on the out oh he left him grabbing plenty of room on that play and they find their way to the 36 this Proficiency in the passing game can take you back to yester year one of the great quarterbacks in Arkansas history and Joe Ferguson yeah just slinging the pill just being able being able to provide balance being able to attack down the field get people out of the box and and not be predictable that's a really good job by this quarterback to the air it's green and that incomplete pass caused by the big hit on first down second down coming after the misfire now on second down he's looking to throw catch in the middle it's sategna and the catch was one thing in the Run even better a big pick up on that one the defense needs to have a plan for this guy they weren't ready for that one drag route running all the way across the field the DB just can't stay with them because of his speed and as a result they give up a big one the Razer backs have it with a first and 10 the running back has it shakes off the defender they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one great running backs consistently make people miss and he did a really good job of breaking one tackle but he couldn't do it to the next and to the next and the next the offensive line going have to do a lot better job giveing them some more space so we can get out in the open field and make some plays for this offense running back goes in motion they'll run it from the gun they'll put the brakes on him at the 21 give him a yard all right well the offense here they're trying to get this run game established they obviously don't break off a l long run there but they're just trying to find their footing at this point just outside the red zone at the 21 but it's third and long from the gun wants to pass escapes the sack didn't have much of a choice just had to throw that one away it'll be fourth down really nice third down sub defense there that time it's third and long they're expecting pass and they're mixing up their looks they're trying to change the picture pre- snap to post Snap to confuse the quarterback now forcing the incompletion setting up four and on fourth down here comes the field goal unit and he'll Envision the ball flight as he lines it up from the right hash and 38 yds out tried to give it enough Body English but he missed it and the margin remains at seven after the miss [Music] [Applause] [Music] Oklahoma State hoping to get the pistols firing on offense boy three and out last time David they'd like to be more productive this time around yeah in the last Drive nothing really clicked no rhythm got off the field really really quickly they need to put something together here yeah David bad execution on that last drive so they got to take a collective breath and start playing like a unit on this drive didn't get much on first down it's second and nine hand off to the lone back finds his way ahead for five and now they've got it at the 28 let in bus for a long one but now third down becomes very manageable it's not third in eternity now the whole Playbook short passing game long passing game all of it's available here they come trying to convert a third and short from the 28 wide receiver shows motion to the air it's Bowman they're bringing heat couldn't find a man and just had to throw it away to avoid a negative play third down and short they choose to pass it they got the whole Playbook open because it's third and short on their own side of the field you could tell the QB wasn't going to make a mistake he did not want to force the ball make a bad decision he throws the football away lives to fight another down and the Cowboys will try to pin them back with the punt this will be the second time they've had to kick it away running it back it's sategna that's a perfect example of not settling for a fair catch pick up whatever yardage you can and help out the offense he wants to start this drive with a pass caught on the outside it's sategna and he'll step out of bounds after a very productive play and the wide receivers have to understand what part of the field they're on I got to make sure I have enough space when I run those out routes that when I break I can catch the football and try to get up field get a few more yards he runs out of space but he got the catch and got some positive yage really nice stop there from this senior leader third down [Applause] Debs Rising as the crowd Gets behind this defense on third down looking to move the chains they throw it complete to the left nice job to pick up the first down and they'll spot it at the 42 it's tough on the defense there third down you're in zone coverage everybody's watching the quarterback and you're trying to make a break on the ball but he just got it out of his hands too quickly and the throw was too accurate really nothing you can do there and it's now a fresh set of downs pulls and fires it complete to the right they make the stop after the catch and still some work to do to pick up that first down I love offenses and quarterbacks that are willing to take the easy stuff take those easy throws that are guaranteed to get positive yards yeah I'm going to take big shots down the field too but don't forget it's easier to pick up second and five third and five than it is when we start getting those long yardage situations open space at the 25 man I want to be a running back in this offense when you take that hand off to the right and you see that blocking and all the holes open up that's a good sight for a running back you've heard of Reed and react I think the defense read it they just didn't react very well well when you got that kind of a line just all that push they're getting on that right side they just just pushed the defensive lineman back got in the linebacker laps and man oh man it was it was brutal up front looking for a man it's green and good hands there by the defense on that shot to the end zone well that last incompletion is a good example of why your timing has to be so good as a quarterback because the windows they open and they close so quickly in this part of the field defense rose up deep in its own end on that last play now a second and long coming wide out in motion the run up the middle looking for the score he'll be brought down at the fivey line and this defense is on its heels all right so now you're in this third down situation close to the goal line and it just feels David like they're going to have to throw the football in order to score a touchdown here I like maybe trying to get the quarterback outside on the perimeter and give him a run pass option I like that too get the quarterback on the move and here's the thing if I get close and I get stopped it's Fourth Down fourth down means go for it that's all that means now today in college football it's broken up and almost intercepted on that shot to the end zone it'll be fourth down and if the kicker can put one through this will be a successful drive from the right hash and this distance makes that angle not quite so severe oh that one will leave a mark no good and the margin is still seven after the Miss guys well that's one the kicker would like to have back that's a kick he should be making in [Music] his Oklahoma state has it back and the offense is on the field that last Drive won't go on the Highlight Reel after ending in a punt they'd like to be more productive this time David and I think this offense has to be a little bit more balanced find a little balance between the Run Jesse and working in that pass and I think too David it's just going to take a spark it just takes one play to get this thing picked up after that last completion it's second down this time they'll go to the running game he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple and the defense was locked in you could tell they saw it they reacted right away got the running back on the ground immediately facing a third down and short from the 26 gives it to the back on the draw and the defense had his hands full but they finally wrestle him down short of the first down this offensive line better figure out a plan for this D tackle he is tough to block with one guy you might want to start double teaming him he's going to be a problem moving forward you saw all of his ability on that last the Cowboys will send out the punt unit looking for a block it's sategna and he'll work his way on the return out to the 35 yd line before he stops the hog send that offense back onto the field you want to talk about taking the wind out of your sails driving the ball down the field and missed the field goal David you know what don't leave it up to Kickers execute better offensively I I think you move the ball nice you got to keep that in mind but Palmer I think you got to stay aggressive and don't settle for field goals yeah because you got to know there's just no margin for error right now you just have got to be able to execute at a higher level they'll line up right at the 48 yd line on First and 10 wide receiver coming across in motion try to get the edge with a quick touch pass well and on these little push passes timing is so important you're trying to snap it right as he's getting a full head of steam when he gets the ball he's hitting the outside and David it puts the defense in such a difficult spot you immediately have to be rotating when you see that motion so everybody's got to communicate and kind of bump over that's why offenses love to run it just it makes the defense communicate and see if you can just get him out of a spot grabbed over the middle it's Armstrong he's brought down quickly minimal gain there still a bit short of the first down well this offense knew coming into this game they wanted to try to attack the middle of the field in the passing game and they're able to execute the end route there Here Comes This Home crowd as the defense tries to get off the field on third down they'll try to get the first through the air lets his slip right through his hands and it'll be forced down after the rare drop from this dude great job by the defense there they weren't surprised by that they call there on Third and short they were expecting pass they took everything away and forced the incompletion and the Razer backs will line up to punt it away he ought to be able to use this first punt to pin him deep and that is textbook instructional video out of bounds right around the goal line they'll put the tight end in motion they'll run to the right you just can't go backwards there he did and they swarmed him for a safety oh and how about this defense understanding where they are in the field they got a chance to put points on the board and they [Applause] do so after taking the safety they'll line up for free kick from their own 20 free kick out of bounds kicking so the decision has been made and the coach will take the penalty fly gets set first down p and finds his man on the left and the defense had that one well covered just a short game there [Applause] second down coming up that's the end of the quarter and Arkansas has the lead and we've come to the end of the first as we take a moment to check out the stats so far heading in the opposite directions now as we Crank It Up in the second went to the running game on first down now here they come again got in the middle it's Wilson nice pitch and catch there and they'll have enough for the first down the Hogs getting it done through the air evoking memories of Ryan Mallet and that's what the fans of Arkansas want to see they always got that physical ground game they always want to have a little bit of balance and when they get that balance they get that offense cooking they get everybody pretty excited you might even get a woo Pig s the give on the inside after the pick up of nine it's second and one coaches always harp about staying ahead of the chains and when you can run with that type of efficiency on first down man you are doing just that the big pick up on first down leaves them with second and one they'll go right back to it the Razer backs pick up the first down you got to have short area quickness that running back there doing what it takes to make sure he got that first down and the Razer backs are on the Move he's looking to throw it fires to the wide out holds it in and they reacted well to the completion but it was too late to keep him from getting the first down and listen you get Zone coverage and you can hit that curl route and he comes open continually keep hitting it this might be a play to come back to the Razer backs with the first and 10 the back goes in motion grabbed in the back field it's Russell and he goes out of bounds after a nice pick up on that one and this offense I think will do a good job in this game divvying up the football and distributing it to different guys in the passing game it won't just be receivers it's not going to be tight ends this running back he's a weapon too after he catches it you saw it right there 6yd pickup on first down leaves him with second and four trying play action unloads to the wide out makes a connection and they make the connection and he's got it at the 10yd line set up with a red zone opportunity well this offense told us coming in they were going to challenge this secondary early and often they were going to use their speed to their advantage should take advantage of this quarterback's touch and arm talent and they already in the second quarter they've got over 200 yds thrown comes out throwing on first down he's got it and still on his feet and he'll haul it in and take it to the end zone touchdown Razer backs look it's still early but we have some real distance being put on the scoreboard right now you do it's early but you got to find something positive right now everything going in the other direction so how are you going to respond when you've been hitting the mouth early in this football game got to find something positive quick he'll try to add another to their lead and the extra point will tack another one onto this lead a 70 yd touchdown drive and they finish it off by connecting from 10 yds out about to kick it away after scoring the touchdown Ki away what kind of field position can he help him with on the return nice job by the kickoff team everybody stayed in their lanes and they'll stop him at the 16 [Applause] they'll leave it with him ran to that daylight to pick up six to the 22 it's going to be important this offensive line is able to get a little bit of push just got to give this guy an inch a little crease and he can make yards for it got six on first down now a lot of options on second and four they'll leave it with the lone back and and he's brought to the ground but not before he gets up for the first down you wonder now on offense have they found something in the Run game finally it's been tough for them to get the Run game going but they picked up a nice gain on that last one let's see if they go back to it and the Cowboys want to crank the tempo on the move it's Gordon showing off the arms and and he broke one tackle on the way to a solid pick up there I think tackling is about effort most of the time it's about how much passion how much physicality you can bring to get your guy on the ground refuse not to get him on the ground that's not a big back you got to get that guy on the ground you can't let him pick up an extra couple yards and stay ahead of the [Applause] sticks out of the shotgun they go to the ground and they drag him down but not before he picks got the first down that has got to be demoralizing if you're on defense because they just ran the ball right up the middle down your throats and they gashed you finally this offense starting to show a little juice they've got a first and 10 out of the gun the inside G that's what you expect from a senior don't give them any extra yards great tackle there man that D tackle as a freak athlete did you see him come out of his stance and beat the offensive lineman getting to the running back catlike quickness didn't get much on first down it's second and nine they go right back to it and they're able to shove him to the turf as they stop him for a short game and those physical runs take a toll it might not be a big game now but down the road third fourth quarter late in the ball games they tend to turn into bigger runs now facing a third and long to the air it's Bulman coming after him under heat he gets rid of it and the third down pass is incomplete what a nice effort by the defense there they knew that the QB was in an empty set there was only five guys blocking him so they didn't get to him right away but because the quarterback just kept holding on to the football they were able to pursue and get a hit on the Cowboys will punt it away on fourth down fourth time tonight we've seen this guy come on to punt you'd think they would have had a good chance to down that one deep but the bounce carries it into the end zone for the Touchback they'll throw it on first down takes the easy throw in the flat and he'll run across the sidelines after the good game yeah and you see running backs in today's football they play a wide receiver basically for you but you got to find a guy that you can throw it to and you know he's going to catch the ball consistently line getting set on second down they'll see if they can find some Running Room on the right here he's dropped by behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three defense is about firing off hitting the offensive guys and staying in your gaps everybody knowing where they're supposed to be you could tell the defense everyone was right where they're supposed to be nowhere to run fairly manageable distance here on third down from the 27 they'll try to pick up the first through the air he makes a catch and he almost ran away from everybody on that one a huge pick up on that play on third down offenses have their plays what they like in third and short what they like third and medium third and long great job by the offense having success now it's incumbent upon the defense to learn their plays and try to shut it down throughout the game from the gun they'll give it on the inside still running at the 40 really nice pickup on that one is they get it to the 36 it'll be first down and the Razer backs are flying down the field back to pass it's green gets it out quickly nice completion here to this wide receiver and you're going to see this receiver line up in different spots all over the field all game long defense has got to keep their eye on where this guy is because they know he's a big part of this offensive success ready to fire from the pistol off play action got his man quickly didn't pick up a bot there moved it Forward just a few they were able to make the completion but he had to pick his way for just a little bit needed a little more help to Spring him for some yardage yeah if you're going to have success when you throw it outside like that you're going to need some more blocking and better blocking downfield give the defense credit though they were able to rally and made it tackle on Third and short they'll try to pick it up with the pass finds the tight end they make the stop but not before they do their work up top and pick up a first down love the way he didn't just run to a spot he found the cushion in the zone and got himself open for the first down yeah and you're taught to find that space don't run right into a Zone Defender who's sitting there looking at the quarterback and looking at you so much creativity with routes now and of being able to just have subtle moves One Way come back the other way nice job by and he Motors into the end zone touchdown Arkansas one of the reasons this offense is so exciting to watch they've got guys that are dangerous after the catch if this quarterback gets through his progression David he hits you in stride these guys will take it to to the house man it's your job to do the rest right you hit me in stride where I don't have to stop running I don't have to break down it makes it so easy the connection between quarterback wide receiver you can tell this is a good one and that's why they got six on that [Applause] play P unit on the field is on for the extra point and with the extra point they pushed the lead out a little further so a drive there of 82 yds and they Clos the deal with a 20yd pass for Six almost ready to kick it away after scoring the touchdown kickoff the returner will field it and bring it back nice job by the kickoff team everybody stayed in their lanes and they'll stop him at the 16 Oklahoma State hoping to get the pistols firing on [Applause] offense he found a hole got about five he's down at the 21 I I like it just frustrate the defense get that five to six yards make him onor the Run make them know that you're willing to run the football and run it effectively halfway there on first down it's second and [Applause] five he'll keep it himself he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple nice job playing assignment football by that defensive end knowing what my job is not letting that quarterback get out get loose making a good play and most importantly being there in the right spot and getting him on the ground wow this offense is doing nothing they've already punted four times in staring at the possibility of a fifth pulls it in it's Gordon excellent job working through the air there finding a hole in that defense and picking up a first down well look that wasn't a touchdown but that was a massive play for this offense they needed some momentum they needed to find a rhythm in what better way than converting on third down awesome job by the quarterback getting through his progression single back formation and they give it to it finds his way for three out to the 33 now that's what you're trying to do as a defense limit those damages when they run the football get them on the ground short gains to set your defense for positive situations down the road got three on first down it's second and seven they'll give it to the back shakes off the tackler just W his way for a couple out to the 35 Third com these are of the types of plays where offenses impose their will third and short from the 45 back to throw it's Bowman quickly complete and he's down at the 41 that's a first down we've made our way to the two-minute warning and now they'll try to at least cut a little something off of this lead before the break and the Cowboys come to the line with a fresh set of downs trying to find his man on first down caught over the middle it's Presley and just a short safe pass play they pick up a few and I love when my quarterback sees zoned and knows exactly where to go with the football sees the wide receiver running the drag route knows when to throw it pulls the trigger for the easy completion the Cowboys racing to the line in the hurry up on second down they'll take to the air got his man to the left and a nice grab there big pick up down to the 35 yd line wow they've been waiting for that play right they haven't been throwing it a lot they've been real sluggish they've got no points on the scoreboard and now they come up with an explosive play in the passing game to get them in a position to score some points here hopefully a touchdown before this first half closes out he's brought down solid pickup but a little bit short of the first down routes like that are great times to be quarterbacks I got great fast Speedy guys on the outside quick drag route get the ball in his hands let him do the rest trying to get a rhythm in the passing game now on second down he's looking to throw oh he drops it right down the middle of the field and he couldn't make the play they're trying to get their receiver on a drag route and work him through all the bodies in traffic but there's just too much happening I don't think he saw the throw real well and it falls incomplete third and short from the 28 let's see if this is four down territory or if they just pick up the first here looking to throw for it grabbed in the middle it's pressling a timeout it's called as this offense tries to find a way to get more points on the board before the half well we know this guy is special and because of that his quarterback is looking to him on critical down and distances there on that third down there was no question it wouldn't have mattered if he was single cover fires deep toward the end zone and he's got it touchdown Cowboy man nice job getting the passing game going this is big man going to the half and listen I know you're trailing but building some momentum maybe this second half we can keep airing the football out cutting into this deficit and who knows what the heck will happen [Music] [Applause] [Music] ling up to add another is on for the extra point splits the upright they put it in the end zone with a 12pl scoring drive and the scoring play comes on a touchdown pass from 22 yds out trying to fight their way back into this thing down 16 and about to kickoff returner going to try to see what he can get and they'll bring him down to get the offense started on the next Drive okay so here comes the offense returning to the field they're going to open this drive with a pass snagged in the middle it's sategna quick timeout called by the offense after the play that was a nice pick up running the drag route and finding that quiet soft spot in the zone yeah drag routes not only work against man coverage they work against zone two if you can find the soft spot the quarterback gets it to him early he can turn up field and you saw that right there they finally get him stopped but what a good job by that front wall to set up the screen and create some Lan for their running back well this defense has tried to find ways to disguise their coverage and mix it up try to confuse the QB it's not working there that last completion he's now get over 300 yd passing makes the catch it's Jackson there to make the tackle but the big throw is good enough to give them a first down they built this offense around finding mismatches and just get the ball to the back and let him do his thing yeah it it didn't have to be long down the field like it threw it right near the line of scrimage but you know I got a guy when he gets in space he can make big plays happen nice decision by the QB offense lines up for a first and 10 from the 43 he wants to throw they're trying to get to it and it's incomplete it was wild high and wide on that one after the quarterback and receiver failed to hook up they'll try it again on second down back to throw it's green feeling some heat and he'll Chuck it into the cheap seats there and save the down nobody getting open [Applause] [Music] there time dwindling away as they try to put points on the board right before the half and with this place rocking the the crowd forces a false start false start off the officials offer the deal and the coach accepts it they will take the penalty on Third and long doesn't need to take the check down the quick out and man coverage when they get up in the face they make things hard you want to be able to attack the whole field and get him lean in One Direction and then break outside like you did there nice out rout contion nice Chemistry Between quarterback and wide receiver and they're running out the kicker to give it a try he says he's got a big leg he's going to have to show it from 56 yds out that thing would have hit a string in the middle of the uprights perfect and they'll push that lead out a little further well that kid just showed off his hammer for a leg 50 plus and he did it with ease so they get the late field goal right before the half and not much time after this kickoff for an answer from inside the 10 yd line he'll bring it back he he was looking for more Running Room but none to be found as he stopped at the 23 it's first down but the offense is just going to take a knee and go to the locker room first half in the books time now to join Kevin Connors in our halftime update all right fellas looks like you've had a very enjoyable day there today in still waterer and we have to start this halftime breakdown by addressing the play of this Elite wide receiver this is clearly a young man who once he's finished playing on Saturdays he's going to be playing on Sundays the kid has different gears he has a knack for finding gaps in the defense and I can't remember a college player with that kind of catch radius with that said let's send it back to the guys at Boon picking Stadium [Music] all lined up and ready to go for a great second half ahead let's see if he can make a play on the return he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 Oklahoma state has it back and the offense is on the field they start this third quarter in a big hole and they have to start climbing out right now and they're going to have to be really aggressive like this offense when I'm playing from behind every possession means so much more and if you look the other side the defense they haven't given much resistance yeah nothing has gone their way in the first half offensively and you know now based on how this defense is playing with their confidence that you are going to be challenged on every single snap so buckle up get your mind right and get ready to come back in this game and how about that interior defense stuffing the run for nothing if you're going to stop the run game you better be physical up front on the defensive line they've got some MERS they've got some dudes with bad intentions nice play there wow this offense is just stuck in the mud they've already punted four times and it's third down now got his man downfield running wide open down the gut of the field touchdown Oklahoma State and once he found daylight it was ktie Bar the Door baby this guy is so dangerous because of his speed he can take the top off the defense and he did it right there on the post great armed Talent getting the throw out in front of them it didn't matter how many DBS they had deep on that one I don't know think they could have stopped [Applause] [Music] ready to try the point after for the exra point and it's up and good quick strike offense on that three-play scoring drive and the Capper was a bolt of lightning a touchdown pass from 84 yds out now really back in the game here leads down to 12 as they're about to kick it away he'll bring it back from inside his SP not a lot of space to be found good Hustle by the coverage team and they stop him at the 21 and Arkansas ready to send out this offense man how comforting is it to know that even if your offense stalls out a little Jesse that field goal kicker can knock it in from a long way out well he's one of the best in the country re no doubt but this offense would like him and for him to kick an extra point on this drive and to do that David they've got to have more Rhythm on defense yeah create some more Rhythm create some more explosive plays and maybe some more balance and listen it's nice to have that weapon and kick long field goals if you kick too many field goals you don't get very many W's from the gun leaves it on the inside with the back and they'll get it to the 39 yard line and they'll move the chains wow the running back there showing you his skill set as he's able to rip off that one for a first down from the 39 yd line it's first and 10 to the ground he's got it again they can rely on this guy to pick up solid yardage when they need it and he's out to the 43 and it's just simple simple first down run showing your physicality setting your offense up in a good spot after the productive first down play it's second and six takes a hand off it's Jackson he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three man oh man am I upset at my offensive line to give up penetration that fast man we blinked and missed it he barely got the ball and just got destroyed immediately what a great play better find the earplugged here comes the noise backing this defense on third [Applause] down he showed it all there a little elusiveness a little power and he's got the first down and that's a perfect example of why offensive coordinators like running the ball in third and long situations because you're expecting the defense to be in a big prevent Zone coverage type scheme and it makes it so much easier for these running backs to get into the second one quarterback on the keeper they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one they're trying to go option and they're trying to put that defensive end in the bind but he's just way too athletic and he guessed right the quarterback was keeping the ball he knew it and was able to make the tackle in the back field lost one on that last one it's second and 11 they'll switch it up here and look to throw catch in the middle it's h and he was loose and in the open field and on his way a tremendous pick up on that one that's a really nice looking throw and I'll tell you he fits in great with this offense because there's been this philosophical shift recently in the secc offensively it used to be you had to run the football eye formation three yards in a cloud of dust if you wanted to win but today though you have got to be able to throw if you're going to win you think about all the great offensive play callers now in the SEC all the high Trophy winners that have played recently at the QB position you got to do it through the air and this guy in Arkansas gives them a chance this offense trying to quiet in the crowd on first and goal and they are not cooperating dropping back it's green can't make the grab as he was going for six right there oh and the QB so lucky but that one wasn't picked off these are small Windows to throw into down here in the red zone defense tipped it up in the air lot of Defenders lurking around lucky that ball hit the ground these fans raising the volume on second and goal looking for the score and he can't quite make the connection as he was trying to pay off this Red Zone opportunity sometimes as a quarterback when you're feeling the Rhythm and you're feeling yourself you just want to keep taking shots right this guy's already thrown three touchdown passes he saw a look he liked decided to Let Her Fly haven't seen a lot of balls falling complete especially deep down the field that one did but I'd expect this guy to keep letting it go looking to The End Zone on Third and goal and he'll race it to the house touchdown Razer backs he didn't see anyone open said no problem I'll take care of it myself yeah I've been there before been there done that not my first rodeo I've been in this kind of situation down by the goal line I'm getting outside and I'm taking it in [Applause] myself they'll try to attack one more on their score exra point and the extra point is good the lead is 19 so it's an 80 yd drive and Clos the deal with a three yd touchdown runlah the kickoff team takes the field to boot this one away number 36 set to kick it off on the move from inside is five he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 Oklahoma State hoping to get the pistols firing on offense makes the quick grab and the defense coming with bad intentions they knock him down for a loss we'll give the defense credit on that one cuz they knew coming into this one that they were going to try to get this receiver the ball in a variety of ways they were ready for the screen there and they create a negative play didn't get much done on that first play of the drive it's second and 11 wide receiver now comes in motion looking to throw it's Bowman using the quick game they make the stop trying to pick up just a little bit at a time to get to that first down marker I tell you this slot receiver he really does give his quarterback a nice option runs really good routes he's got nice hands you saw it on that last play and this offense is desperate to keep this drive alive trailing by multiple possessions and it's getting late shotgun snap on third down and that's incomplete a Defender all over him knock the ball to the ground fourth down coming up this is a point where you just got to be able to focus and the critical down and distances in this game like that third down right there when it's a good throw you got to make the catch you've got to be able to make that play and the Cowboys will bring the punt team onto the field they've been busy out there to punt for the fifth time today he'll call for the fair catch here the Hogs send that offense back onto the field leaves it with the running back he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple I love when you start bringing linebackers up near the line of scrimmage and you start sending them because those guys have serious speed they can come catch anybody up and down the line of scrimmage the linebacker you could tell he had a good clue what was going on he knew it was a run play fired pulled the trigger came downhill and attack the running back trying to impose their will with the Run they bringing down and he's going to lose a yard on that one I think that might be an example of the running back maybe trying to do a little bit too much everybody wants to try to bounce the ball outside to hit the home run but in college football at this level you just need to do a better job taking what the defense gives you and the running game has been going in the wrong direction they'll try to get their first positive play of the drive here on third down getting some heat he'll try to do it himself can any one catch him and he'll finally slide after the long run I'm not sure if he wanted to avoid the hit or he just got tired this guy just gives you nightmares I mean he's just got so much electricity he just pulls it down and chews up yards like it's nothing that's a quarterback a quarterback doing that to your defense the Razer back's getting set on First and 10 they'll move the running back to try to force the defense to adjust he finds his man that's about as close as you can get to that marker and it will be second and just a few breaths away from the first down yeah and Palmer I don't know what his great is going to be but hitting over 400 yards on the day I I think coaches are going to be pretty impressed with the day this young man had no doubt I think for defensive coordinators moving forward now you're going to be charged with having to find answers to try to slow this guy down today we've seen this defense try blitzing Zone coverage man coverage they've mixed up Personnel none of it has worked this guy has carved them apart and the Razer backs are on the Move off the play fake on first down wants to throw got it in the middle it's h you know I know it seems like an easy pitch and catch but for the tight end there that route potentially changes if it's man coverage so good job by him knowing it's zone I'm just going to sit down this is basically like a checkdown right let's just take the easy pitch and catch and keep this drive coming operating in the Red Zone here on second down from the gun the G looking for room and he get him on the ground he picked up about four yds and the ball spotted at the 10 and you know when we talk about great third down defenses it really starts with them getting stops on first and second down you've got to get those stops early in the drives to set up third and long so that's a missed opportunity on that second down with this defense on Third and short they'll go to the power running game they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one it's hard to run on a defense that comes off the ball like that and runs to the football like that good luck no holes anywhere looks as if they'll send out the field goal [Applause] unit and it's right down the Boulevard and now the lead is even bigger that makes the score arkas 36 over home 14 hey keep pushing that lead out and the kickoff team's getting some work on the run from inside his own five really disciplined job by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the 19 Oklahoma state has it back and the offense is on the field David the punter got some work last time they'd like to keep him on the sidelines in this drive yeah it's not something you want to say very often you don't want the put this offense needs to get back lather up and get a little bit more of a r best way to do that identify where your best players are and just get them the football give these guys some touches to kick start this offense now on second and [Applause] short unloads quickly the Cowboys gaed up for the first [Applause] down and that's a first down offense working from the pistol on the run it's Gordon defense there to stop him after a 2yd gain to the 31 I never know if it's grammatically correct to say a team is being out physical you hear it a lot in football though that's happening in this game they are just not getting the push they need all game long up front to have any success when they decide to run it after picking up a couple it's second and eight looking to throw it's Bowman fires to the middle got his man and he gets it to the 45 yd line and that'll be a first down wow the quarterback knew he had to get that one to his receiver quickly on the end route did you see the velocity on that throw now a first down from the 45 yd line used the play fake now to throw and boy was that pressure in his face immediately down he goes but when it's a playaction pass that quarterback he really has to sell the fake he can't tell his offensive lineman's getting beat right away while he's selling the fake he had no shot [Applause] that's the last thing you want as an offense a negative play a sack on first down on second down looking to throw missed receiver there it's incomplete incomplete third and this offense can ill afford to come up empty on this drive already trailing by by multiple possessions he'll try to pop the draw and he's not going to make it the defense denying him the first [Applause] down and the Cowboys send out the punt unit and these guys have been busy sixth punt of the day makes the tackle really strong disciplined job and now we have one period to play and talk about spreading the ball around everyone getting a chance to show off the hands based on the number of targets we've seen one more quarter to go and it looks as if we are ready to play and Arkansas ready to send out this offense and to settle for the Chip Shot field goal goal last time Jesse they'd love for this one to pay off bigger yeah it just comes down to execution too did a nice job out in the field stalled a little bit once they got down to the goal line so they just need to be a little bit more crisp here yeah and listen I I think the first part was the most important part you got to put the drive together first to get down there now when we get down there focus on execution and getting six points six- yd pickup on first down leaves him with second and four he'll try it again really nice stop there from this senior leader y [Music] third they've got it at the 41 third and short trying to keep the chains [Music] moving fires to the big fella the Razer backs have enough for the first down no reason to panic when you see those extra bodies he coming just find the big tight end well and the great ones do that I think the great ones are okay you want to Blitz I know my answers I'm all right I'll stay patient find the matchup this time it was the tight end finds the tight end throws a strike gets the first down the give to the tail back still on his feet at the 45 and you want to dominate the football game like these guys have all day dominate the line of scrimmage you know turn and hand the ball off to your running back it's a good re it makes every quarterback better it makes every OC better just turn hand the football off especially when you're winning the ball game and the Razer backs have this offense rolling right back to the well not much working there it'll be second and nine he's taken down at the second down coming up when with the running game on first down now back at it from the gun the running back has it he has an extensive Juke library and he exhausted it and still didn't pick up much they'll need to get this one to the 31 here on third down a little pre- snap eye candy for the defense he got a hand in there knocks it away incomplete yeah and third and short that choose not to run throw the football and I think a lot of that has to do with they know they're in field goal range they can take the three points on the board now looks as if they'll settle for the field goal try this is going to have to be Unleashed from 54 yds out and the try is no good guys they didn't get the field goal there but still a 22-point lead to work with not the day that this kid was hoping to have here after that Miss he's now only two for five he's cost his team nine points [Music] already Oklahoma State hoping to get the pistols firing on offense they hope to be able to cash in on this Drive David after having to punt it last time yeah and I think this offense needs to start it with the first play you need to be successful and productive on that first play and it gets you in less predictable situations no doubt to don't you just feel like there's a little bit more sense of urgency on this drive it just feels like they've got to be able to put some points up on the board here they'll spread the defense out going five wide on second and 10 scanning the field it's Bowman the throw to the outside is complete makes a catch and knock down well and here's the problem offensively because you're trailing by so much so late in the game the defense now is going to be playing big Zone coverages and they're going to allow you to throw the ball underneath in the middle of the field rally to make a tackle and bleed the clock it's going to be hard now for this offense to claw their way back in this one out of the shotgun on third down fires a b and now it's picked off trying to take it back he's at the 20 touchdown Arkansas the defense puts six on the board with a big time interception return D this you didn't think it could get any worse right you thought this game's over as it is anyways offense still throwing the football still trying to make plays and the defense just continues to pour it on gets the pick makes its way all the way to the end zone lining up for the p is on for the extra point the kick is up and good and put one more on the lead that makes the score Aransas 43 they're about to kick it away and the defense probably can't wait to get back out there after the pick six the returner will field it and try to do some business he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 Oklahoma state has it back and the offense is on the field trying to get to him catch in the middle it's Gordon and good coverage by the defense just a short gain you just got the feeling this defense is going to make it hard on them right they've got the lead it's late and they're going to try to tackle everybody in bounds offense is going to have to really work for this and be smart you got to attack the sidelines you got to throw first downs you got to keep this thing moving vertically down the field to throw it's Bowman he's got his man and a good job of coverage by that defense just a short pick up this offense has their work cut out for him man because the coverage has been so tight and if you're not throwing to the sideline or you're not getting past the sticks this defense is going to tackle you inbounds like they just did on that last play and bleed the clock now looking for that first down on Third and short from the 26 he'll try to get it through the air grabbed over the middle it's Foster and he's brought down at the 40 yd line and that'll be a first down and that's why QBs love their tight ends so much right especially when they're athletic because they make short throws turn into long Gams because of his ability after the catch it's so unique and special he is dominant in this offense the Cowboys will snap it on First and 10 he's going to pass he lobs one high down the left side and he'll pull it it inside the 20 he's showing it all the juice the Jets the moves and he's got it down to the 16 yd line and the Cowboys are moving quickly down the field on the ground with the counter able to get one down to the 15 brought down at the 15 yd line [Applause] didn't get much on first down it's second and nine he's looking to throw into the end zone and it's caught touchdown okahoma State nice pitch nice catch and listen maybe this helps next game right like we're trying to find the Rhythm find something that works find somebody to go to and this offense is struggling you're down by a thousand but I like that they continue to [Music] [Applause] [Music] fight he'll try to tack on one more extra [Applause] point smashes it through for the P 18 so that scoring Drive took only six plays and they finish it up with a 15yd scoring TS lining up to cover the kick after that touchdown drive and he takes this from inside the five he was hoping for something a little more Dynamic but they get him on the ground at the 20 the Hogs send that offense back onto the field the give to the back finds a little bit of space gets three to the 22 small game I know but again the defense knows he's going to run the football he's willing to run the football not just drop back and pass make him on to the Run game you got to do a lot of this after the three- yd pickup they come to the line Second and seven power football with the run into a mass of giant bodies we'll call it a one yd gain to the 24 third down [Applause] coming and now on third down after that last run off the bootleg and rolling out grab near the marker it's h and it's a first down they'll mark it at the 44 he's been so lucky in it seems like any pass called is a guaranteed chunk play yeah and and winning late like this in the ball game keep trusting him keep spin it you know why because stats matter late in the game you want some postseason Awards keep chucking it keep getting those [Applause] stats now they'll line it up from the 44 on First and 10 leaves it with the back able to scr three yards out of that one somehow it's second and seven it's just so nice to know you can start off on first down with positive plays positive yards hand the football off set up a good second down got three on first down it's second and seven there we go right back to the Run showed off just about every move in the book except the forward move stopped for a short [Music] game they'll run this play from the pistol on Third and long he's going to have to throw for it looking to scramble trying to make magic with his feet when you've been around like this guy has you know how valuable picking up the first down with your feet can be it's going to be tough on this defense containing this guy because he's got that six sense to get outside the pocket and at that point he's throwing it and hurting you or you can take off and run that time able to get the first down big challenge for the defense moving forward they'll keep it on the ground the clock is on their side and a nice solid pick up there before the defense wrestles him to the ground really nice awareness by that guy too because it looked as though his momentum might carry him out of bounds might stop the clock but he knew to get down he was fighting to make sure he fell down in the field to play and as a result the clock keeps ticking got six on first down now a lot of options on second and four he'll do it himself and the defense stopped him just short of the first down maybe needed a few more chain lengths to move this St quarterbacks generally guys we know they're not as big and not as physical Runners as running backs so it is going to be trickier for them to break tackles I like the idea getting the designed quarterback run game going moving forward let's see if we can get him out to the perimeter on Third and short the power run here they'll pick up enough yardage for the first down they've got it at the 30 everything going the offense's way they're trying to ice this game late they've got a really nice lead so you just want to run the ball high percentage throws and keep the chains moving and they're doing that this has been a beautiful drive to watch offense continues to stay in a nice Rhythm here late the Razer backs will have it first and 10 they're getting this guy lathered up and I'm a fan of this man run the football eat the clock we got the lead this offense has put together a nice day man like just balance Rhythm timing play calling everything is worked that's why they've built this lead they've had a great day today after the three- yd pickup they come to the line Second and seven the give to the single back a strong tackle and wrap up from the Junior and the defense is still fight they they haven't had the day that they dreamed of you know talking to the coaches coming in the game like they thought they had a good plan they'd be ready to attack and and and limit some of the damage this offense has done they haven't done it today though they got to go back to the drawing board figure some things out cuz this wasn't a great day to the ground with the back and maybe he'll get back to the line of scrimmage but no more than that stopping the run is about physic cow it's about I'm bigger than you I'm stronger than you up front really nice job by the defense showing their strength Bo up stuffing the run and the field goal unit is going to give it another try the old College try just keep kicking surely one will go in never doubt
