[Music] what's up everybody D Gerson the da all right everybody check it out man we got to talk about the crow because the director is out there eating crow pretty upset because his movie didn't do well whatsoever not with the critics uh really not even with the audience even though you see a 65% on Rotten Tomatoes um you know for the audience score they call it the popcorn meter I guess now uh but nevertheless this thing is just an absolute disaster a big mistake even remaking this thing like I don't know who was asking for a crow remake the first one is just fine it's a cult classic just leave it back there in the 9s where it was born and that's that but they decided no we're going to try to you know get some money off of this old IP that a lot of people love and you know the guy just didn't do a good job with it uh so you can see right here on Deadline they report that the Crow's $50 million reboot uh only brought in $4.6 million in the opening weekend that is insane $50 million and that's not a lot of money mind you okay that's probably exactly what they should have spent on it but they only got 4.6 Milli which pretty much tells you this thing is already going to be a giant disaster not as big as Borderlands I think Borderlands is going to be a bigger disaster but you know you see these Studios latching themselves on to IPS and to old movies and properties and they want to remake them or they want to boot them up or they want to get them going and they just don't have any Fidelity to the source material they have no idea what the fans are looking for and when that happens you put the two of those together yeah you can expect box office results that look exactly like this and then of course the crow director he's not just going to sit there and take that lion down right uh the Crow's uh Cinema score has been revealed and the director responds to the backlash from fans who are very active online very active online which is a lot of people all right news flash genius there's a lot of people online right now on social media and they will absolutely let you know what they feel about the movie that you just dropped especially when you're coming after something that they love all right a cult classic like the crow so yeah let's see what this guy had to say all Lionsgate waited as long as possible before lifting the Crow's review embargo uh seeing as it sits at 211% on Rotten Tomatoes now at 20 right uh with the credits consensus that calls it dreary and poorly paced it's not hard to see why the crow has been awarded a B minus Cinema score putting it on par with the likes of dark Phoenix Hellboy send City a Dame to kill for Hulk the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and Punisher war zone so pretty much a whole bunch of [ __ ] all right bunch of crappy movies that didn't do well in the box office I think this has to be the David Harbor uh Hellboy reboot I think that's what this one has to be because the OG Hellboy is dope all right and I don't think that got that kind of a score I like the Hulk you know I think they're talking about Ang lead's Hulk I liked it for what it was but it wasn't a great movie by any stretch of the imagination I think the rest of these joints I pretty much yeah these are all bad movies all right especially dark Phoenix pH dark Phoenix is utter trash uh in some respects it feels like the odds have been stacked against the Crow from the beginning the response to the news of a reboot was met with largely negative reactions and the trailer received a surprising amount of scorn particularly for Bill skarsgard's appearance as Eric uh talking to Entertainment Weekly uh director rert Sanders responded to some of the backlash I think a lot of people are very active online and not so active in life he stated get out and do something and have less time throwing stones yeah look bro they was trying to get out and do something all right they were trying to get out and go watch a movie you know they always say get out of your house go touch grass like all right cool they got a a a crow movie in theaters all right I'mma go touch some grass and then you know go out and hang out with some friends I'mma get out of the house I'm not just going to sit on the couch all day playing video games in the basement or whatever all the nonsense that they always try to throw out there at these cats that are critical of them right go touch grass all right I'm going go touch grass I'm I'm do all of that stuff I'mma go outside and then you give me this trash movie and then I come out and trash it and then you tell me get out and do something they're like man yo bro get out and make a better movie all right quit disrespecting your audience how about that on top of it right why why are you out here slamming the fans like this makes absolutely no sense for all of these filmmakers to constantly be coming out here slamming the fans the fans are the ones that put the money in your pocket G do you not understand understand that if it wasn't for the fans that's out here slamming your movie all right you couldn't do the job you're doing you couldn't be a filmmaker if it wasn't for people going to movies to watch films they just happen to not like the one you did when are these idiots going to finally say you know what I messed that one up okay hey you know what if you didn't like the film you know what I'll try better next time I'm sorry if you didn't enjoy it I hope some of you guys that haven't seen it yet but you're hearing the negative reactions hey give it a chance but if you don't like it we we understand we we're going to try to do better on the next film you know appreciate everybody that went out and saw it and gave it good reviews you know because look not everybody is apparently slamming this thing again 65% on the Tomato Meter you know hey maybe some of these people will start to spread the word and then they'll turn this into some sort of a cult classic who knows but yeah if the director is coming out here and saying this type of crap a man no I don't even want to support it now I have no doubts in my mind at all that if anybody read these comments they would be like oh hell no I ain't watching it now no chance I'm going to go out there and support this jackass I mean it's ridiculous man the filmmaker added I think it would be great just for people to know that this is a reimagining and wildly different from the original and that the original is still there I haven't recorded over anyone's VHS you see the snarks I mean just the snarkiness coming out of this guy the nerve of this guy to come out and reimagine all right a cult classic and get mad that people ain't rocking with his imagination I mean it is what it is man why don't you just take some humility pills and say damn I guess I didn't really do a good job you know I came out here and I tampered with somebody else's love all right they love the crow this I mean the crow is one of the more popular movies that had ever came out of the 90s you know especially coming on the heels of Brandon Lee's death I can see a lot of people saying yo man this is like almost damn near sacrilege that you even talking about even talking about remaking this movie there's a ton of movies that are just like this there's like big troubl in Little China man don't ever remake that okay you know they live goes along with that don't ever remake that Back to the Future don't remake that all right some things are just sacred you can't touch them The Last Dragon don't ever remake the last dragon please okay there are certain things that are just sacred that are just Untouchable and you shouldn't even think about doing it and the crow is one of them but y'all did it okay hey so you got to take your medicine at this point that's all it is to it I mean straight up man um you still go to see that movie and I hope this movie resonates with people who love that movie when they they were in their teens this is my version of that text it was my adaptation of James's graphic novel which I loved telling fans upset fans to go and touch grass it doesn't seem like the smartest way to win them over though Sanders is right that this take on the crow is very different from its 1994 predecessor now considered a cult classic yeah it's absolute cult classic and you know they're right okay for once comic book movie has an opinion that I agree with telling people to go touch grass isn't how you're going to win them over I mean it's just absolutely ridiculous man look at the end of the day you know if you like the movie if you hate the movie whatever you should feel free to voice your opinion of that without hearing from those yoyos over there you know the the director and the producers and the actors and the writers those guys your job is just to produce art that's it that's all produce the art we will be the judges of whether the art is good or bad whether you did you know Fidelity to the source material whether you honored the original you know the the the cult classic of the crow with Brandon Lee whether you did any of that or whether you just [ __ ] the bed that is going to be up to the fans to decide and you just got to rock with that this is the life you chose you chose to be a film director you chose to jump into this Arena you can't get your feelings hurt man because look it's clear to me that this guy saying this mess right here all right this guy's feelings was absolutely hurt oh they're very active online and not so active in life I mean that is just wow and what's really funny is that it was the critics that was the main ones hating on it and critics gave it 20% audience is actually giving it a a fresh bucket of popcorn but he's still coming after the audience maybe you should be talking to the critics about that [ __ ] bro I mean Ser seriously you know what did what did the uh yeah look the top critics said gave it a 14% only three people liked it 19 rottens okay and then the critics man look let's see what the popcorn yeah yeah down here yeah all audience I don't understand this popcorn meter [ __ ] now it seems like rotten tomatoes is just trying to hide bad scores you know say man we don't want to let everybody know what the real bad scores are so we're just going to put verified audience only if you get your tickets on Fandango you know like why would I buy tickets on Fandango I got like AMC I can go straight to AMC and get my tickets they know how many people got the A-list those folks that have the A-list they'll never be a part of the verified audience even though they went and watched the movie you know but anyway y I think it's just hilarious man this guy is just pissed for all the wrong reasons be mad at yourself G be mad at yourself for making a movie that nobody liked and learn something from that okay be humble all right be humble just a little self-reflection this is just nothing but customer feedback you should always be taking your customer feedback and saying all right look we clearly didn't get the job done we got to go back to the drawing board and dust ourselves off and try again that's how it
