all right Gamecock fans not the game we wanted to see yesterday right everyone thought South Carolina will be more dominant against ODU well one stat did it come up that um I didn't even really know about until it was talked this week about Old Dominion and close football games 11 to day 13 games last year ended in less than one score uh finals whether that was a win or a loss they were used to playing tough football games hanging in their all four quarters and we saw that yesterday right we I was expecting for sooner or later South Carolina to wear down this ODU team and it it never happened and one of the issues was we were never consistent enough on long drives to tire out their defense um we just didn't see it now I know game cop fans have y'all calmed down have you put the pitch for forks and rs and knives and whatever else you had out cuz I watch Shane Beamers I waited till today to watch the press conference so I could listen clearly without showing any type of emotion or anger I had some anger during the game yesterday you're going to see frustrations out of me during football games when I don't understand some of the concepts of what we were trying to do especially on offense I just it was so predictable it was so now and I did mention in other video videos talking about I thought South Carolina would try to be very vanilla in this game and keep things basic because you didn't want to put a lot out on film for Kentucky to see playwise um well before we get into that let's we'll break down the game here in a minute go kind of go through the stats and then I'll give my opinion on the game and you guys don't forget to leave your comments on your opinions on what you saw what you liked what you didn't like um there's always something you can find positive in the game even with maybe you're one of the fans that just always put out all the negative um but appreciate everyone for subscribing uh the South Carolina gcck live stream was a really great success almost 3,000 people viewed uh the live stream yesterday and I appreciate every one of you guys for stopping by viewing hitting the thumbs up a lot of views off of uh X also uh thank all the people that follow my channel on X and just listen over on that side of things but I want to say thank you um at the end of this video I'm going to talk a little bit about some changes that probably made to the channel in the future nothing big nothing major but it is to try to get more involvement uh with more fans and people into this Channel and more members um but let's get back to the game South Carolina big play got a turnover scored early in the football game at that point the height was there right where we're all excited here we go South Carolina from this point forward is going to just you know take over this football game they're going to completely dominate this well then we give up a really big pass play 72 yards Old Dominion scores uh with a quick strike 72 yards over the top we saw this this last year and I it did not make people happy that there was a safety on a wide receiver well when you play that type of offense ODU runs the Tennessee type offense and they have a lot of wide receivers almost to the sidelines they spread the field out tremendously your DBS end up sometimes you're going to get a matchup where you end up with a safety on a wide receiver and it never seems to work out well for South Carolina now on other side of that that was one play after that they kind of tightened that thing down and you really didn't see a whole lot of uh just big plays against South Carolina's offense they they really Old Dominion just chipped away at us right uh let us make mistakes on offense kept their offense in the game uh the whole time and never got to where South Carolina just kind of walked away from them you know then of course South Carolina kicks a field goal this was a struggle we saw yesterday in the red zone or when they they could get the yardage to get down to the 30 to 20 inside the Red Zone but just the offense died once we got to that point why I think a lot of people want to know what happened happen why is our our red zone offense or when we get down there in scoring position we couldn't move the football well of course the field is condensed you always hear that more players are a lot closer together you can't spread the field out as much this is where everyone thinks this offensive line should have been dominant over odu's defense and our rushing should have been better now according to Shane Beamer a lot of this had to do with tight end blocking and it had to do with some perimeter blocking from the wide receivers uh I have to go back and slow the game down and kind of look at that to see if that's what I saw um maybe but I don't know we ran the ball up the middle over and over and over it just got where they almost knew what the hell play was coming uh either L Norse was going to keep it run around the edge rocket was going to run up the middle it kind of got really predictable on that um we did see a Jared Brown going in at running back one time they handed it off very successful play now South Carolina sh have had more success in this game we kind of shot ourselves in the foot in certain situations one was the fake field goal should have been a touchdown call back due to a penalty um just it seemed like every time we did something positive or successful there was just a a penalty or something that we just we just shot ourselves in the foot I mean I'm not taking any credit away from ODU because ODU stayed in there they did what they needed to do they hung in his football game and gave themselves an opportunity to win um that coach at ODU will be a a at a bigger school really soon I mean I really expect the way the ODU played disciplined football you didn't see penalties out of them I know it's older team they they went to a bowl game last year but it seemed like a really good disciplined football team that didn't make a whole lot of mistakes South Carolina was able to create Mistakes by getting turnovers and stuff and the defensive front looked really good which we knew that right that's the older group as the defensive front but we did have Dylan Stewart we everyone's talked about him in the offseason the five star kid or whatever just showed out yesterday KY Canard showed out yesterday these are kind of the defensive ends I think that everyone thought would be the two guys that would really um show out for us and they did right give them credit they both got game Boss from Beamer yesterday uh the defense appreciate what it did Nicki Warrior warry looked like the Nick that we were used to seeing played really well yesterday Jaylen Kilgore played really well yesterday the one mistake by DQ Smith on the long pass was kind of a killer other than that their quarterback was successful at running the football I somewhere in the middle there they spread you out they open the field up you know we saw the long run uh from Garrett Wilson 36 yards and and score a touchdown he made a play you know what I mean that sometimes players just make plays the field was open the kid made a play he scored a touchdown Which then you know it only put him down by three they came back got a field goal um it was 1616 and then they drive back down another 33 yard field goal ODU at that point control this game Lenor sers comes out uh we get to turnover after Dylan Stewart punches the ball out three yd run touchdown South Carolina Goes Up 2 3 to 19 and that was the story of the game as far as the scoring right I know everyone wants to fire Shane Beamer today let's not tear this thing down uh after game one don't panic I mean all offseason all everyone has talking about Vegas has South Carolina 5 and a half wins over and under the best most people have predicted for this football team was 6 and six 7 and five to me is where I put them but I said if they go anywhere from there I don't think they get to 8 and4 but they could still shock me uh it would be more 6- six to 7 and5 range everybody's like oh we're going to be in trouble against Kentucky calm down a little bit we'll see Kentucky does not run Tennessee's offense they don't spread it out like that the def our defense is good their defense is good it's going to rely on both offenses I know Kentucky won last night wasn't a close football game but sometimes maybe being in a battle like South Carolina was last night is an advantage L nor sellers excited says he wasn't that excited you could tell he has a nurse throwing the ball high there was there was catches there to be made if the ball would have been in the right spot right uh Harbor the catch he would have made on the sideline the ball was just thrown a little bit too far outside by the time he went up and got it he could not come back down in bounds we did see some drop passes now brown dropped one in the first half wouldn't have mattered anyway there was a penalty on the play it would have had to come back but that was a drop and when people see wide receivers drop balls we Panic these are supposed to be really good uh college wide receivers they should not be dropping balls a name I didn't hear a lot yesterday Tashan Russell where was he at he should have been in that rotation he wasn't there I don't know why U maybe he was out there just didn't make any plays or do anything we'll go back through the player stats and and we can call out some names that I think um people really thought they would hear that we didn't hear a lot out of last last yesterday um you know we got outperformed on offense by a few yards South Carolina 288 um and Old Dominion had 305 not a big discrepancy in the yardage overall um so I I don't know you won the football game I don't know where you really want to go from there I mean we can look at we'll look at these stats real quick South Carolina 288 passing was not good for South Carolina 114 yd passing where was where was the running back pass yesterday I saw that in the spring game where they were dumping the ball off to the running backs and and the running backs were able to get some run where was that at yesterday I I I never I never saw that in the game plan I didn't see it uh I didn't see you know I don't know what we were doing I mean if we were trying if I have any questions about yesterday and I have to look at and point to finger somewhere in here is what was the offensive game plan and where were the plays that were called to do I I I understand you don't want to give everything to Kentucky but you almost messed around lost to Old Dominion by what I saw was not very good play calling and then if you did call a good play it was a penalty or something like that and I know you can't do anything about that both teams had five penalties yesterday for 33 yards that equaled out to each other both teams punted six times total plays South Carolina had 79 uh ODU 72 not a big dist fourth down efficiency South Carolina was two for two ODU was one for one third down efficiency not good for South Carolina we were only five of 18 on third Downs that has got to improve we could not convert on third down it just I I don't know first down South Carolina at 18 uh ODU 17 yards per play ODU was better 4.2 South Carolina's 3.6 rushing yards look great for South Carolina 174 yards uh ODU had 108 one of those was a 3 plus yard run by the quarterback for the touchdown that we saw time of possession South Carolina owned it 35 to 46 didn't convert it into points uh fumbles lost they lost two we lost one interceptions thrown they threw two we got two it's just uh turnovers helped win that football game yesterday and you cannot depend on that every week to happen you dominated in every area really except for passing yards and uh you just really didn't dominate the scoreboard you didn't you didn't do what you needed to do on on third down that was a killer yesterday play calling on third down is questionable and D loggin has to figure that out I don't know what we need to do but something has to be figured out on converting third Downs that that that's a problem I know everybody say well rooster you're always positive I am positive but I will note problems when I see them if you cannot convert on third down you're going to have some long football games and you're going to tote some losses in there um so I know everybody in the comment section on Beamer's press conference last night basically fire Beamer tear it all down after game one uh tear the stadium down rebuild everything rebuild new rebuild and uh think you're going to be Alabama or or Georgia come tomorrow not going to happen boys that ain't going to happen here we know everybody oh well you're excuse last year sh Beamer was the team is Young and this year the team is young again think about it guys what is our offensive line if they're not young you got a couple transfers this is their first year playing in this offense and with this team uh that have some age on them but you're some of your offensive linemen are true sophomores you got a true freshman playing um case Henry hasn't had a lot of plan he was starting but he didn't have a lot of a play time you know everyone still has to Jael together you've only played against your own team uh through scrimmages and practices guys this is game one and everyone's having a meltdown they got the pitchforks out burn the house down Run The Three Little Pigs off whatever you need to do uh everyone's a coach and knows football and uh we should have just B away ODU because Vegas put out a line that said South Carolina should Blow Away ODU Vegas also put out a line at South Carolina over and under his five and a half wins guys think about that think about it um he said rushing Aaron Young was good for them he had 56 uh yards rushing or whatever I don't know I think don't they have to Grant Wilson that messed up wasn't he was the quarterback that ran for 30 something yards against South Carolina was he not for the touchdown it's what it said back there in the stats what are they going to call it though I don't know he didn't catch the ball so I don't know if that where that or was it somebody else that had the long run I don't know I thought in the game stats it just told me Grant Wilson ran for 34 yards but maybe I'm confused maybe I'm confused let me go back and look again Grant Wilson did he run for 36 yards I think it's Grant Wilson 36 yd run okay maybe deducting out of his sacks because South Carolina did put a lot of pressure on him I forgot to deduct out for sacks um and South Carolina's yardage don't look as good either you have to think about this uh you took three knees at the end of the game and you dropped back 8 nine 10 yards every time so you probably cut uh about 30 yards it doesn't really matter at the end of the day you just wanted to win right you wanted to win the game um but yeah I mean you lost probably close 20 plus yards of offense uh by taking a knee but we gave up some big sacks too man uh we got to figure out third third third and long obvious passing Downs for us not not a good not a good stat um basically let's see on there uh one wide receiver had eight reception 115 yards uh average of 15 yards and one touchdown Which we know that guy had the long catch for the touchdown most yards came on that 74 yd reception uh miles Alon was 5 for 40 Pat two for 22 Aaron Young two for n uh it just goes down stats there their defense ended up with uh mariio Thompson ended up with two and a half sacks Patrick Smith half sack KO natola had a half a sack and I mean that's about where they were like I said they got us they got us on some third and obvious passing Downs um with some blitzes man they really did get us with some blitzes uh we got we got to figure that out somebody's got to figure out how to uh uh figure that one out all right Lenor sers passing was 10 of 23 no doubt we have got to and he had some open that during the game he was off on some of his reach right he was high on some throws he was off on his throws a little bit but there were some other players where he threw in Windows if he had just checked uh went through his progress progressions and checked there were some wide open wide receivers uh that did not have the ball thrown to him so maybe they got to work with him again about going through progression not trying to lock lock in on on one uh one guy on a certain play um rocket Sanders 24 carries 88 yards 3.7 um rocket in his interview also said he he wants to do better he thinks he left some yards on the field we really didn't we got to help him out some with giving him some better breaks but they ran him a lot 24 carries uh Lenor sers had 22 carries so there's 46 of your carries right there here uh for a little over right around 155 56 yards Juju McDow sellers tripped him up juu was about to house one or at least he thought he was about to take one to the house uh just kind of one of those freak things during the play just another thing that a freak weird thing that shoots you in the foot right you got a a quarterback trying to make a block to help his running back runs kind of Clips JuJu's foot a little bit Juju loses all his momentum hits the ground um and I don't know I kind of looked at the replay I don't know if if Lenor did get his foot or not it was kind of hard to tell or whether he just tripped up on the on the grass I I I'd have to go back and really just stop the play to see if he was touched in that play but it was just one of those freaky weird things that some days man things just don't work your way in it that play didn't go our way not the way we thought it would anyway uh leading receiver of course vanus Jacob uh two receptions for 59 yards maio Bennett also had two receptions only 18 yards that's what I'm saying there were some names kind of in here Payton mangram Devon Campbell and Michael Smith all had on there Josh Simon only caught one pass I expect more passes to the tight end you when we only threw to the tight ends three times you tell us about all these tight ends and the great tight ends that we have we only threw them to them three times uh running back position rocket caugh one pass for 10 yards there's not one other running back name in here that caught a pass there something I I don't know I I don't understand it because I saw it happen in the spring game and it worked in the spring game and it was never in this game planing against ODU and I don't understand why I'm not the coach they don't have to explain it to me but my mind why was that not in the game plan is that something they're leaving for Kentucky didn't want to show it in this game whatever you almost got you almost lost this football game when it comes to that you got to get a different mindset guys um I get why people are mad but let's not pitch fork and throw the season away already off of judging one football game which was the first football game of the year with a lot of new pieces and a very young quarterback that hasn't started or seen a lot of action in a live football game so everyone calm down the Panic no need to go out and jump up and down on your your neighbor's car flip it over or anything uh we're okay just calm down villagers we will be all right um like I said KY Canard had two and a half sacks yesterday uh I think he had four for loss um but four tackles one assisted tackle and then he also uh Dylan Stewart with one and a half sacks yesterday uh three time tackles one assisted tackle um odonnell Fortune also had three tackles one assisted one interception uh Jaylen Kilgore with the other interception um did get a lot of players in on on some defense yesterday there's some offensive players in here too that had to make some plays what about Harbor's play to push the wide receiver out and then go right back and South Carolina gets the intercept um on the next play uh good hustle out of Nick haror right that he he had to he just turned on the Jets and went push the guy out tonkaway had a sack also yesterday um linebackers play well Deo five tackles two assisted Demetrius snight had five tackles de how about DeAndre jwes stepping up with five tackles yesterday big DeAndre jws uh Nicki five tackles yesterday and then of course we talked about Kyle Canard with four Dylan Stewart three some assisted uh odonald fortune 3 like I said just from there went on down but yeah there were some big expectations Debo Williams five tackles no surprise there Demetrius Knight so the linebacker cor performed uh DeAndre jwes performed well on the defensive line uh and Nick back there in the defense so if you look up here top tackles you're really looking at the linebacker core and the uh defensive line and uh your safety of course Nick and wary who is a hell of a tackler uh Nick does very well at tackling you don't always want your safety to be one of your leading tacklers but Nick is also a lot of times up around the line of scrimmage um like I said some other guys Michael Smith had two catches yesterday but only four yards on his two catches uh Jos Simon won one hunt Brady hunt dropped one I know it might have been a little bit of a tough play but being a tight end has played a lot of football I know he missed last year due to injuries he's getting back into the swing of things too you got to catch those um but I mean before let's just not burn it down like I said Jared Brown had to won kry for 16 yards Juju had two carries 16 yards Oscar outway only had four carries and five yards they there is some blocking that has to be improved um we know that everybody's in panic mode there's no way we beat Kentucky um if we play the way we played yesterday and that may be true it's only going to be tougher right you go to Kentucky you're on the road you got some holes that you got to fix some things you really need to fix uh from this past week and one is we got to get more consistency on offense we got to be able to convert on third down you're not going to be able to run the hand the ball off to Rocket Sanders and run in the middle of kuy's Defense so your passing has got to be better you got to figure out the wide receivers who's going to be out there who's catching the football and we got to get Lenor to go through his progressions we don't you know we talked about it in the offseason I even argue about how much Lenor sellers would run the ball and I didn't think they would design run him the way they did yesterday um but they did and that I don't know if that should be part of the game plan I know be said well he's this this and we're going to use him okay but we never saw Robbie Ashford come in on any packages yesterday which I thought we would see maybe they're saving those I'm just saying if you were trying to save stuff for Kentucky it almost cost you a win yesterday that can't happen man you have got to settle into a game plan and we have got to find the guys that are going to to be consistent this this dedication sometimes we show The Players uh by putting them on the field when they really shouldn't be on the field at that point in time I get it love your guys put them out there but you have got to put the most consistent players on the field punishing a kid well maybe he missed a block and then you punish him and he missed the Block in practice you punish him by not playing him at all on a Saturday um I I don't know I kind of heard that in Beamer thing that kind of ticked me off a little bit um pulling kids they're not blocking they're not this I I don't know same old Beamer you're the coach man you got to make the decisions uh ain't nobody trying to hear no they want to see Improvement in this offense the defense I got to give Clayton white credit and I'm going been a kind of critic of Clayton white the defense looked really good yesterday if it wasn't for the long long run and the long pass Old Dominion didn't really move the ball that well on South Carolina either you think about it those were two the the 75 yard pass you got to give them credit uh strike fast did it quick uh the running play was a quarterback made a play man there was nobody there they vacated the space if he got through past the defensive line there was no one in the area to to catch him and the kid does play athletic so give credit what credit is due the quarter those guys made plays on offense when they needed to we didn't make plays on third Downs when we needed to um and and just got to got to stop the whole shooting ourselves in the foot with penalties man uh like I said it was only 5 for 33 but it's when the penalties fell uh that was damaging when you take points off the board because of a penalty that hurts you man that hurt you so it's the timing of the penalties not just always the yardage of the penalties or how many but anyway I'm going to get off of here uh I'll be back later to live stream to LSU Southern Cal like I said please don't forget to hit the thing there but appreciate everyone that always comes hangs out this video I know in about 30 minutes but I wanted to go through some stats I wanted to talk about some things I saw some areas is I I just still have questions we all still have some questions I think that we would like to see answered um I just know trying to do this right after a football game when emotions are high maybe a little alcohol is involved not the best time to do shows or videos uh got to sit down look through the stats kind of see what happen get an understanding what it is before I come on here and just rant and rave all negativity and let's just burn down Williams BR Stadium fire Beamer before he can cross the street to get to his office all these things the anger and emotions from a football game are a game that we thought we should have performed much better in uh does not bode well for doing videos after football games but anyway y'all have a wonderful rest of your Sunday hopefully you guys show up
