very wildly making the leader of the House the the the the subject of his unwarranted and complete misplaced di tribe Mr Deputy speaker sir honorable through you I would like to to tell the honorable member honorable Shakil Mohammed that we have no lesson to learn from an opposition who have broken all records of absenteeism in this house honorable Shakil Muhammed is making irrelevant references again he's stepping out of the par which you yourself uh Mr Deputy speaker sir rightly put uh forward at the beginning of the debates of this motion he's he's making irrelevant reference to where the Prime Minister should be sitting for lunch and God knows what other criteria I mean I wouldn't be surprised it would not come as a surprise if uh if uh um the the new speaker would be blamed for today's dismal uh performance of the leader of of the opposition with his pnq fizet that we the leader of the opposition Inspire this is the leader of the opposition who is inspiring zero confidence in fact I congratulate The Honorable zavier ljal for having fabled a motion of no confidence because he he inspired zero confidence especially today during the pnq and I think the whole population got a chance to see that Mr Speaker sir the opposition who have tabled the motion of no confidence against the speaker the new speaker where was this opposition when this government this prime minister was busy bringing bills to this house bills to the effect bills that are going to be setting the scene for our future generations and yet today they were absent in case they don't remember where they were they were either doing uh press conferences outside this house or yelling in the precent of the the assembly today this opposition has the audacity to strut in here and table okay in all you right table a motion of no confidence again a new speaker who has been elected and dragged to this chair with all the uh provisions of the law being respected in fact we will remember that when the election of this new speaker was taking place again I repeat adhering to all the provisions of the law what did we not witness the population as a whole witness circus that happened on that day members who were suspended falsely claiming that they had received summons to attend that day's session which is a lie Mr Mr Deputy speaker Sir with your permission I am I am refuting points that have been put forward by the opposition we had we had members of the opposition commenting on where the Prime Minister should sit and have his lunch I mean there could be nothing more irrelevant to the motion than that we have we have witnessed um how the opposition who again through this very weak method or trying to to cling to some semblance of political existence maybe because through tabling a motion of no confidence against the new speaker and making frivolous accusation there are very troubling accusations that have been made in the house today Mr Deputy speaker sir and they're more troubling because of the total absence of evidence to support th those accusations you yourself have ruled uh against those uh those accusations today so Mr Speaker sir they are refusing to accept except one simple fact a simple fact that the people has already placed their faith in this government they have placed their faith in our institutions and they have placed their faith in this assembly when we talk about the assembly we talk about the legislative process we talk about the fairness we talk about the Integrity of the house we are talking about the integrity and the role of the speaker so the the the the the motion of of no confidence towards the speaker holds no water whatsoever Mr Speaker sir what has been spoken words that have been spoken here goes down in hanset it goes down on record but history is not only going to remember words history is going to remember actions history is going to remember what has been witnessed within the walls of this August assembly history will recall the absence I to be to to be very honest Mr Deputy speaker sir I don't even think that the seats occupied that by the members of the opposition ever had a chance to even get uh taid or even warm because they have never been here they're always absent Mr Speaker sir the opposition today is clinging is clinging to a straw they are drowning they have no substance they don't even they cannot even articulate a vision of Their Own like I said earlier on today this motion of confidence is the only way to have or it's either that or go and have uh um press conferences at uh every every minute and every hour of the day the you the new speaker Mr Speaker sir the moment he has assumed his his duties he himself has reversed some of the uh decision of the previous speaker Mr Speaker Sir Mr Deputy speaker sir the newly appointed speaker elected speaker has brought in uh Innovative measures about uh uh digital Innovative measures to be brought into this house so instead of uploading these new initiatives and we are talking about a a new speaker who has already carried out successfully and admirably well duties of Deputy speaker in the past so what we are seeing today Mr Deputy speaker sir is just another addition to the list of by the opposition of course another addition to the list of is no good when they are in opposition this is what this motion of no confidence it is the same the sole objective of that motion of no confidence Mr Speaker so they talk about respect they talk about um how the provisions of the law um was were not respected their own colleagues previous um speakers of this August assembly have come forward and said No in fact you members are of position you are wrong all the legal ways have been respected in the election of this new speaker so Mr Speaker sir I am not going to dwell too long on uh um on the the embarrassment that is the opposition and what they're trying to achieve Mr Speaker sir it is a motion that has resoundingly been rejected by the population who's following these debates resoundingly so I don't think there is an Iota out doubt that uh at best at best this motion is merely um applo to gain some political brownie points but at worst it is characteristic of the abor ploy of the opposition the opposition today has come to this house like I said to gain some uh political survival to obtain some serum to talk about I heard honorable Shakil Muhammed earlier on say papa p i mean how de basing is that him to withdra every no but he did make the reference withdra it is no longer part of this is the whole Mr Deputy speaker I speak under your correction before honorable Shakil Mohamed how many of the members of position have made reference to uh the new speaker being the son of a member of this Parliament of Maus realize that new speaker has brought Serenity and peace in this house which has suffered for such a lot of time I take my hat off to him he has been able to keep calm I would not have kept calm he have been able to keep cool I would not have kept cool even in the face of the most calamitous attacks that you can imagine a young man of 34 years old has never attack anyone in this house never be subjected to such demeaning words hurtful words from people and they are Ka Mr Speaker I will tell you why they Capo because they attack the speaker because they fear to attack the Prime
