will be another coach appreciation video for none other Miss Stephanie white okay she is the head coach for the Connecticut Sun okay they the number two uh uh team in the power rankings of the WNBA she's a phenomenal coach today I wanted to share a little bit of information about her career and her career as a coach both on the basketball side and as a coach right now so here we go Miss Stephanie white was born Stephanie Joanne white June 20th 1977 that makes her currently 47 years old she was born in Danville Illinois she stands at 5' n she's 155 PBS actually attended Purdue University which is the school that I'm currently attending right now for my degree in finance okay I attend Purdue univiversity Global online she was named national college player of the year Indiana NCAA woman of the year and Big 10 conference player of the year when she was attending Purdue she led puru to NCAA National Championship in 1999 Stephanie competed with USA basketball as a member of the 1997 Jones Cup team that won the silver medal in t tapie in tapy several of the games games were close with the USA team winning four games by six points or fewer including an overtime game in the semi-final match against Japan a gold medal game against South Korea was also Clos for the US AFL 76 to 71 to claim the silver medal for the event Stephanie white was the second leading scorer for the team averaging 10.3 points per game this is just a little bit of her Awards and honor so in 1999 she was granted the Wade Trophy and also in the same year of 1999 she was awarded the winner of the Honda sports award for basketball this is her professional career says white began her 5-year WNBA career with the Charlotte sting in 1999 under her married name Stephanie white um hyphenated McCarthy so she used to be married to some gentleman back in the day she was acquired a a year later in expansion draft by the Indiana Fever to lead the team's inaugural season roster after four years with the fever she ranked third in games played and three-point field goals and fourth in scoring she averaged 5.9 points and 2.0 assists per game retired from the WNBA in 2004 and went on to become the assistant coach at Ball State in Kansas State and the University of too I'm from Columbus Ohio okay I know a little bit of the University of too I actually applied to that school ultimately ended up going to Youngtown the ghetto before going to the Chicago Sky white was involved in all aspects of the basketball program including recruiting on Flor coaching scouting individual workouts and academic support I did not know that she used to be a coach for the Chicago Sky very interesting since 2007 white has also served as a college basketball analyst for ESPN in the Big 10 Network including Studio work and co-hosting the Network's coverage at the Big 10 women's basketball tournament again she has very great communication skills again like she did journalism and broadcasting and sports coverage for women's basketball so for her coaching career say after a four years stent as an assistant white took over as the head coach and the head coaching duties of the Indiana Fever following ly dun's retirement I you know she coached with Indiana Fever too she she made her rounds all throughout the WNBA her first season she led the fever to their second WNBA finals appearance losing the best of Five series to Minnesota Indiana went went 20 to 14 overall in White's debut season and her second season with the fever white finished the season with 1717 record and lost in the first round of the playoffs of to the Phoenix Mercury damn on May 23rd 2016 white accepted the head coaching job for the Vanderbuilt commodor Women's Basketball team she completed the 2016 season with the fever finishing her time there with a 37 to 31 overall record and a 66 record in the postseason say through her first two seasons that Vanderbilt white compiled a 21 to 4 overall record and won 725 against South Eastern Conference competition ain't gonna lie that is that's her Fifth Season at vendor built was short uh shortened in January 2021 due to covid-19 concerns injuries and a depleted roster it would eventually be her final season with Vanderbilt as a school part of ways with white on April 6 2021 again a little bit about her personal life so she did marry a man okay be funny but his name was Brent McCarthy in 1998 they divorced in 2022 and she has three sons okay but she has since again like I just said she got divorced and she actually is dating a sister okay I kind of ain't going lie don't quit playing I didn't think Stephanie was like Les me because again like you know like she was married something like okay she has three sons with this man her ex-husband but since for some time now she's been she actually been with a sister okay she with a black woman by the name of Lisa suers did youall know that Lisa suers she's a very highly respected you know really gorgeous uh black woman uh you know she does sports broadcasting journalism you know for a lot of the men's basketball uh uh games and teams you know I was watching a lot of her interviews just doing my research on Miss Stephanie white and like they make a gorgeous couple again just be in certain Clips or photos of them but um I was okay Stephanie white let's go Stephanie for the Sisters again Stephanie white is amazing um hopefully I really am hoping guys I'm rooting for Connecticut sun to come through and win the freaking WNBA Championship finally for the first time destroyed New York Liberty I can't I don't like them New York Liberty is the Ops okay they some dirty players they baby sub school um even during the freaking um Teen USA Women's Basketball during the Olympics did y'all see again I'm going to say it again to br literally ran into freaking Britney grinder she ran into Britney grinder her own teammate and she got two foul uh two foul shots called I'm like this is ridiculous something about Sabrina and ianu um they like to Baby her protect her it's like if she just gets cough on wrong right they giving her two three foul shots I'm like it just don't make no sense again shout out Stephanie white she's a you know great woman you know had a great College uh basketball career um USA basketball career WNBA career and now she is coaching she's having a great coaching career career again like I'm learning new things you know just doing my research I didn't have no idea that she coached Chicago Sky andiana fever you know all these teams I'm like okay like she really built her resume up and again like she's a sports uh journalist and broadcaster she has a lot of commentary on women's basketball so again stay tuned for that I'm sure she's on you know ESPN uh ESPN 2 I believe and speaking of ESPN they said that we are they are now into works and uh for having a daily women's basketball show all on its own so we're going to be able to like tune into ESPN of the networks you know so many of them and just see women's basketball content all day and that is glorious again shout out Stephanie White and her partner okay Miss Lisa Salter okay they are a gorgeous
