I'm in Costco today and I'm going to share some appliances with you we're going to start off with the Samsung and of course now they've moved their handles down below this particular unit has the water and the ice down below it's a separate door that's a smart decision on them and I'm still not fond of the handle down below they're actually making this Samsung a little bit better than they have been this is their bespoke line that has the multiple ice in the bottom and They're copying this from LG as far as I can tell very similar companies LG and Samsung very similar problems in their refrigerators both with the ice maker and also with the the compressor this is their induction range that they're showing here at Costco and notice it's only a four-burner a little bit disappointing but when's the last time you used any more than that I don't know uh it does have a large very large one here so that's kind of nice but um I'm not crazy about the look of Samsung's controls on this particular range but I do like induction technology you just have to be careful when you're touching the pan while it's working the microwaves will actually begin to terminate in you and so you can actually get radiation from it then we're going to look at more Samsung here's their laundry the bespoke line don't let that 20-year warranty fool you that is for the motor only parts only that does not include the labor to have it repaired and as always with Samsung I don't recommend them on their washers and I know people think I'm being unfair but I'm really trying to save you some money I wish I could say there's one brand that's always best unfortunately I can't just today I was at another big box store looking at appliances and there was a couple looking at this particular Samsung and I came by and I said don't do it don't buy it and the lady said why not and I said cuz it'll break and I explained how the suspension will have problems it will cost them money a couple hundred to have a technician repair that and she said I don't care we'll just put it on the credit card what a poor attitude I hope you're not buying appliances just for appearance you want to buy for durability now we're looking at some LGS this is that cool one you knock on it and the light comes on you can see through is that really a feature that you need kind of like the Samsung back there with the TV do you really need that feature is it something worth paying for now on the LG IC maker it's in the door I'm not very crazy about this and I'm going to do my best to show you why it still has plastic components holding the gears and the augar look at that so you're going to have a problem with that eventually that's going to break and it's going to cost you to have it repaired that's the problem they've had in the past now they do have the additional ice makers down below if you can see it here and this is a much better design it appears like others are copying that design here's their gas range they have at Costco the knobs feel good and overall it looks good it comes with The Griddle option that's pretty smart on their part this is the double oven and a lot of people like that purple appearance that Sapphire and I do too um you know they have the slide out rack which is a great feature when something's hot still not crazy about LG personally although I know they have a lot of good reviews now here's one LG item I would like to try this is for steaming your clothes and this is a really neat system it's a neat concept it's kind of a throwback mayag used to have something similar to this back in the day and LG's kind of streamlined it for those that wear dress clothes and office clothes and I wouldn't mind trying this unit I think that'd be kind of cool now the LG stackable I don't typically recommend I don't like front loaders generally speaking I know that's my preference doesn't have to be yours um LG has gotten better on their washers I'll never understand why somebody would pay extra money for a little washer inside of their washer that's just one more thing that can break I I don't recommend that you do it moving over to GE I got to say profile they've got a good look these days they've changed the design and the layout uh the touchscreen is very intuitive most of the GE ranges are made in Georgia in the rer plant that whirpool was shutting down so I applaud them at least for keeping American jobs uh most of these cheaper appliances are keeping Americans active but in the repair industry this is their new profile this is the most basic profile and overall this is a pretty good dishwasher I don't have any complaints about it easy to use has bottle Jets it's also going to have silverware Jets which is great for its price point when you compare this to other washers I still like the GE how it has the piranha hard food exposer Down Below in the pump that's going to save you a major service call one day where you won't have a technician overcharge you for a pump this is their basic counter depth refrigerator very simple not a lot to say about it um I would get it if I had to um actually I think I would try one of these also I want you to see this this is a very interesting machine this is a whirlpool and look they have it for $900 but I want I want you to notice this the size of it is odd it's a 38 in now most side by sides are actually 36 in this thing is huge and you can tell just by looking at it how large it is this thing is fairly large I would try this fridge if you're in a pinch and you're in Costco right now and you're looking for a machine to get I would get this over most of the french door refrigerators because this should be more dependable Dia chest freezer super basic the Hamilton Beach I find this one interesting garage ready look what they're doing everything has its own bin that's an easy way to keep it stored a lot of people have complaints about shelving so that's kind of smart on their part continuing back down the line again GE Profile is doing better on a lot of things their Ultra fresh vent system to prevent the mildew smell but as I've seen machines coming in after a few years in the field a lot of them still have the the smell so either you got to run the load yourself still clean it out and do the maintenance how long does the microband help what does protected with microband mean does that mean a thin coating that wears off after so many uses probably so now again it has that ventilation system that's supposed to help GE Profile washers that they're displaying in Costco don't have an agitator I don't know why you need an agitator if you want to get your clothes clean moving over to the kitchen a this kitchen a is a good look fridge I do like the appearance of it it seems to have these easy Glide racks this wood look the metal look a lot of neat things happening here now it's cheap when you touch it you can tell but if you notice this also they changed where the air comes in for their ice maker so they have actually updated their ice maker I don't think whirpool is going to have as many problems with this one as they did on the last one so they have solved some of the problems they used to bring the air in from up top and it caused a water leak and a series of other problems on that fiveo fridge all the handles at Costco are loose I think that's just the people putting them together I like the extra level of storage tray very smart on kitchen Aid's part but the question is do you need to spend the extra money finally we get to their dishwasher and I'm not as impressed with it I like the concept of having a place for extra cups but it seems to be missing some essential things like silverware Jets and everything just kind of seems cheap moving on to the kitchen aid range and of course the microwave a fairly large facade comes with some extra parts and dishes Kitchen Aid hasn't been as good as they have in the past um I want to vote for them cuz they're still americanmade but we know that media is threatening to buy them out and they have the power to do that I wish Kitchen Aid felt just a little more durable like the cafe does there's several things I wish that they could get straightened out cuz on some KitchenAid products there's no real difference between it and a basic Whirlpool finally your Whirlpool washers will end here and again this detachable agitator um I think it's a total gimmick I think it's a waste of time everybody asks for it on other machines they that's one of the things they ask for now does it have a detachable does it matter when's the last time you really needed to do that your blankets should be around an agitator for proper load balancing their front loaders are about midar not a lot better than whirlpool in or I'm sorry GE in my opinion I think they're about the same anything that you get here I'm going to recommend get the largest warranty that you can get an extended warranty finally what you don't want to do is get this Samsung or this Samsung you definitely don't want to get this Samsung frontload washer they're going to lie to you and tell you 20-year warranty but if you pay attention that is a partson warranty so whatever you do don't get Samsung if you do I'm afraid you may end up regretting it and uh people are rough on their stuff I'm not trying to abuse these machines but I want you guys to think about what you buy don't buy the Samsung to save money it's going to cost you in the long run and you're going to regret it so I hope this helps you save some money
