for for Coach sides in this team Clark comes back at answers I saw the adjustment when you're not seeing them mark from way out to carries it more on the offensive end three players in double figur Clark again with another three the Indiana Fever have already secured a playoff position thanks to the combined efforts of Aaliyah Boston and Caitlyn Clark however they are not taking their foot off the gas pedal at all in fact they totally dominated the Los Angeles Sparks to earn their 18th victory of the Season as the postseason approaches despite a strong performance by Odyssey Sims and Derica Hami the West Coast Squad had little chance since the rookie was so desperate to win and in this game Caitlyn Clark showed us all once again why she is so incredibly good and this hasn't gone unnoticed as basketball Legends LeBron James and subir slammed the Caitlyn Clark haters they did not hold back one bit in their feedback for the haters first up Caitlyn Clark has had a crazy debut season how much crazier can it get she was able to earn three records out of this triumph over the struggling Sparks her first accomplishment was her second career triple double on 40 minutes of action she knocked down eight out of her 17 attempts from the field for 24 points this matched her for the game high with Aaliyah Boston she also tallied 10 rebounds and 10 assists more impressively the fever star stole the ball three times preventing the Odyssey Sims lead Club from getting forward traction she reached reached a second major Milestone her four three-pointers that found the bottom of the net propelled her to become the fastest player to reach 1003 pointers made per stat Mamba that is not all the third record she broke entailed dropping dimes the rookie from the fever system is the only player to dish out 200 assists while simultaneously making 100 shots from Beyond The Ark Clark is most renowned as a strong offensive facilitator and knockout shooter however it was her late game defensive heroics that enabled the fever build a significant lead despite Odyssey sims' 20-point performance and Di Ham's 16 points it was a superb defensive read that allowed her to take the ball from Sparks Kia nurse's errant pass with 25 seconds left probably sealing their Victory she also threw the outlet pass to Aaliyah Boston increasing the fever's Advantage we were just trying to get stops I thought our defense got a lot better there at the end of the game but we need to find a way to get consistent there for the fourth quarter so I'm proud of our group because we found a way to get it done but somebody had to get the rebounds AB was joking we always joke about getting each other's rebounds Clark said the fever's Brilliance will undoubtedly make its opponents quiver by the start of the playoffs aside from the records the rookie leads the league in assists with 8.4 per game however basketball is a team sport and WNBA star sub bird reminded supporters that The Fever had other terrific players such as Kelsey Mitchell despite the Caitlyn Clark craze in a recent episode of her a touch more podcast bird also praised Clark's colleagues which the fever published on their official X account you can't talk about the fever without talking about Kelsey Mitchell who is on an incredible streak shooting the absolute you know what out of the ball the former Seattle Storm star said definitely High Praise coming from one of the greatest WNBA players of all time after falling to the Minnesota links the fever have won five straight games bringing their record to 18 16 and securing the sixth spot in the playoffs Caitlyn Clark has also done an outstanding job of setting the stage for her teammates while scoring threes from Beyond The Arc while the rookie Superstar is the offense's driving force her teammates have also made significant contributions Kelsey Mitchell the fever's second longest tenard player has averaged 27.8 points in the team's previous four wins furthermore Mitchell has scored 129 points in the team's five straight wins shooting 68.2% from the field and a scorching 47.2% from three she's also shot 90% from the charity stripe according to stat Mamba Kelsey Mitchell became the first player in WNBA history to score 25 or more points on 50 4090 splits over a five-game winning streak while it remains to be seen if she will complete the season in the 50490 club making her only the second WNBA player to do so she has secured her place as one of the League's finest players her shot making and offensive efficiency have also made her an ideal compliment to a talented playmaker like Clark if the fever make a deep playoff run this season subd is correct that Mitchell deserves as much credit as Caitlyn Clark despite all the hype still the rookie ability is undeniable at this time Clark had her second career triple double against the Los Angeles Sparks tallying 24 points 10 rebounds and 10 assists she is the first rookie in WNBA history to record a triple double much less two at this point with the fever Prime to make a playoff push Spectators such as Robert Griffin the third may be correct about Caitlyn Clark she might be rookie of the year and if she wins it won't be close and who knows she might even be in the MVP contest as well but what Sue said wasn't all she also took some time to talk about the Clark detractors what do you think of what's going on with that rivalry I love it I love it um I think basketball in in in the women's game we've had rivalries for forever yeah you know we've had competitiveness we've had trash talk you name it it just wasn't getting the looks it wasn't getting you know people wen't covering it so the fact that these two they literally stole the college stage both with their play and their trash talk and then they're taking it into the WNBA it's just going to mean good things for the for the rest of the the the landscape of women's basketball so I'm all for it I think it's great um they've come in and and they've taken over is you're going to have some stretches that don't go your way you're going to shoot bad your team's going to lose and and how do you respond to that so I'm sure she would would like those two games back everybody's clearly got their defensive game plan built around her which is a compliment um but you got to figure it out from there definitely uh let's not forget that she probably has arguably the most pressure that any you know woman's basketball player has ever had coming into the WNBA I mean sometimes it feels like the weight of the WNBA is on her shoulders um that is both like I said earlier a compliment and warranted in a lot of ways uh but also maybe a little bit unfair to put so much on her and what are your thoughts on that are you on board with Sue's words on Clark but that wasn't all she had to say say there's been some people that that have you know basically put her at the top of the mountain right away and I think that does feel disrespectful to to current WNBA players um but at the end of the day I mean sometimes these conversations are good for sports like you want people going back and forth even though it can be hard for the athlete at times I think it is good longterm for the sport um but now everybody's saying the WNBA is obviously a legitimate professional League I don't know what people expected you know Diana kind of touched on this it's basically it's the adult grown woman part of this people you know I've been playing this game for a long time yeah and she took a lot of heat you're talking to Diana about Diana terasi by the way your mega cast the two of you together a lot of fun Sue by the way for that you're very welcome uh she took a lot of heat for saying reality is coming um and kind of proven correct over the first two games again this is just it's it's a long League we're marathoning we're not sprinting but nobody was questioning Caitlyn's ability nobody was questioning Caitlyn's popularity what she's done for the sport How Could you um I think at the end of the day it's just competitive athletes talking about what they've already been through are you on board with Sue's words here should people just back off of Caitlyn and enjoy what's happening right now but as said at the start of the video she wasn't the only ball Legend to talk about Caitlyn Clark in recent weeks even the King James joined the conversation LeBron James the Los Angeles Lakers star has been a vocal fan of Caitlyn Clark and his recent post on X praising the fever rookie Supremacy demonstrates his sustained enthusiasm after her excellent play against the Los Angeles Sparks on Wednesday night James offered Clark some love Caitlyn Clark provided another great effort guiding the fever to a 93 86 victory over the Sparks the rookie Phenom recorded her second triple double of the Season scoring 24 points 10 assists and 10 rebounds on an 8 of 17 shooting night this recent accomplishment adds to her impressive season averages of 18.7 points 8.4 assists 5.6 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game LeBron James praised Clark's performance on his Instagram story writing hi haters I love it on his story addressing detractors who may question Clark's ability or effect in her first WNBA season I mean who could even begin to or stay hating on Clark after her recent performances if they can keep the this up the fever might be a serious Championship Contender and next year they'll surely be able to fight for a top four or three spot in the regular season if not higher right and what about Clark's achievements it's absolutely insane and james' support for Clark has been steady with comparisons to his own professional basketball debut in 2003 James like Clark entered the league under tremendous scrutiny and expectations and his strong support indicates empathy for her present situation Shannon sharp brought out this connection in a recent edition of ESPN's First Take highlighting the considerable excitement surrounding both Sportsmen when they entered their respective leagues the kind of hype that LeBron came into the NBA with Caitlyn Clark came into the WNBA with the same kind of hype and she backed it up she remarked Kurt Miller head coach of the Los Angeles Sparks is the latest to shower rookie Prodigy Caitlyn Clark with roses following the game against the Sparks Miller praised Clark's contributions to the WNBA and identified who he sees most in her game she's really special I don't have a lot of comps Miller said I have different breakdowns of people within her game but she has it all when sub bird was in her prime Su bird played with Incredible Pace one of the things that probably didn't get talked about enough is how fast sub bird was when she was in her prime I got to coach Becky Hammond when she was in college and Becky Hammond had such a unique ability to put the ball in the basket when she got open and got any kind of space you just counted it Clark has been fantastic since returning from his Olympic Hiatus she won the rookie of the month award twice and was named Eastern Conference player of the week for the second time in a row in the fever's four wins the rookie averaged 24.3 points and nine assists per game they also have an incredible 16 eight record after beginning the season 1 eight Clark and Hammond are quite similar in terms of three-point shooting ability while Clark averaged 8.7 attempts per game Hammond had comparable stats she has 11 Seasons with four or more three-pointers attempted both made a lot of Threes but Clark may be in a league of her own the fever star is shooting 47.1% of her three-pointers without assistance essentially she is designing all of her own appearances from Beyond The Arc the fever rookie greatness stems from more than just her three-point shooting it's also about passing she had the most double doubles as a guard in a single season Clark also leads the WNBA in assists 8.4 as Miller observed the likeness to bird is striking despite being superb passers both play at an astounding Tempo bird has a unique ability to control how the defense played she was extremely careful with the ball recording just her highest turnover rate per game during her rookie season despite the criticism of Clark's 5.5 turnovers like bird it's only her rookie season there's still potential for improvement and the Sparks coach understands the value of having her in the WNBA she's a special player and we're really really fortunate to have her in our league Miller informed the crowd Crow I mean they're all right aren't they Caitlyn Clark is something special and we're all here to see it unfold and to think she's still only a 22-year-old rookie is insane we've got so much more to see from her and as I said earlier next year we'll see the true power of a synced up Indiana Fever this must scare the whole league what do you think is Caitlyn your Rookie of the Year and perhaps even your MVP and how far will they come in the playoffs for the title let me know your thoughts in the comments down below
