Giants Add Depth: Jakob Johnson Returns, Curtis Bolton Signed! | Giants News

more positive news guys more positive news we want to give happy news because for every sad story this time Year guys there's a happy story for everybody that gets taken off the roster somebody else gets added so that's why I want to leave give you guys with a positive here so Jacob Johnson who's had an interesting couple weeks here with the Giants so you all know we signed him last week fullback they say fullback SL tight end but he really plays fullback um who's played with Carman Brillo are offensive line coach for the last 5 years in a row uh we know brillo's been preaching to the choir about having a fullback for the running schemes at that point and here's his personal fullback he likes to have we sign him a week later we cut him on Tuesday and a lot of people were very confused about that now I came on and told you guys in the videos we posted on Tuesday I said he's going to be back in this roster guys don't you worry this is a move to save somebody else or see what happens from there and guess what back at the roster the very next day so he was signed Wednesday to the practice squad just today on Thursday he is signed to the active roster again we have these injuries we talked about a moment ago with McKenzie Johnson schlapman Adams there's some roster spots there's some guys to move up so he has moved up and he is now officially on the active roster one more guy we got here on this active roster C Curtis Bolton not to be confused with Michael Bolton not sure if it's any relation whatsoever and Michael office bace not the singer of course that's what I mean yeah I love that I was definely gonna go with singer deer deer so 28 years old 6 foot even 228 PBS originally an undrafted rookie fre Ag and ofahoma not GNA see Oklahoma no no no did you just do the right New Kids on the Block is that what that was I guess so maybe that's what it sounded like the right stuff yeah but he was mostly a special teamer with the Packers there are 28 career games overall 16 tackles and like I said mostly a special teamer I think this was a move to actually replace Matthew Adams I think that's what this is again Matthew Adams special team guy now on the IR at least for the first four weeks so Curtis Bolton gets a chance at that point to prove he deserves to be on a roster that he deserves to be an actual NFL player because he spent a few years at the Packers they cut him loose and here he was now September almost you know the very tail end of August and he's available so when you're a special teamer guys you never know how long your career is going to be let's be very Frank about that because people want guys who can play defense and special teams this is a guy who primarily is a special team te so when you're primarily a special teamer unfortunately the leash is a little bit shorter for you there so you know we'll see what Curtis has got probably got four weeks to prove what he can do at that point and if he doesn't prove it he's better than Matthew Adams and Adams comes off the IR I can already tell you what what we're going to do a segment on four weeks from now yeah it'll be Curtis Bolton getting cut and Matthew Adams coming back on on the roster so it's probably five weeks give yeah give Adams just an extra week to make sure he's fully healthy from there you go I was being pessimistic yeah if you like that clip then you will love the full episodes too find us on your favorite podcast app and look for us on all your favorite social media platforms thanks so much please I'm I'm begging you please please subscribe
