DECLUTTERING AND ORGANIZING MY PANTRY/ Plantinh mums and hunting for rocks 😍

hello hello hello OMG welcome back to my channel so excited you are here thanks so much for clicking on this video I appreciate you it's jod Dunn bringing you a new weekly video and I'm actually in the house for this video well part of this video it's going to be part working in the house and uh part working in the yard so I have a very messy Pantry that needs some organization needs a little bit of decluttering I need to check some expiration dates make sure everything's still in good standing it hasn't been that long since I've done the pantry well probably like six six to eight months something like that um but the main thing is is sometimes we just have months if you're not aware I am an extreme couponer I have a whole couponing channel that is always linked down in the description box and the month of August was absolutely incredible for rebates and couponing in general and I got way more snacks we don't get like coupons for produce or meat or things like that normally when I'm couponing I'm focusing on laundry detergent toilet paper um personal care products things like that I save so much money with that um but sometimes we do get some snacks some good snack deals and I got so much and I have 10 boxes of snack bars right now sitting on my counter because I didn't have room in my pantry to put them in here and this was last week that I filmed this I think it was last week uh we had heat advisories cuz it got there's all the snack bars we got we had heat advisories it got super hot super humid and we ended up having rain like I don't know 4 days so it was really hard for me to get in the yard a few days so I thought let me take care of this cuz it's driving me nuts my husband absolutely loves these m soft baked bars they're quite delicious um and he's on the road all day for his job so he'll usually just take a box with him and the box is gone in like two to three days so uh I got 20 boxes of those mod spars for totally free it was just an awesome awesome month of couponing I'm not a decanter I'm not going to take them out of their boxes and put them in bins or anything like that um will go through those boxes fairly quickly so I'm just using the top shelf of the top area of my pantry for my pasta the snack bars and I think I put some rice up there that I got a really good deal on as well and I guess I shouldn't say I'm not a decanter I decant very few items um where the boxes just are way too bulky and take up too much room but for the most part I do not like taking things out of their original packaging even though sometimes it might save space most of the time I find it doesn't if you are new and you just found my channel I am so happy that you are here would you please say hello to me and let me know you are me today definitely leave me a hello cuz I'd love to say hello to you as well so on this particular day I had about an hour and like I said I couldn't get outside I think it was raining in the morning and then it did clear up but it was so hot like so hot again we had heat advisories I think 5 days last week um which I don't mind working out in the heat I mean I'm in Michigan and our Winters are long and our summer seems so short so I never mind it being too warm um but I really needed to get this done so I'm getting it done and it felt so good once I did have it done and then like I said the rest of the video after I get the pantry done we'll be moving outside to do some things in the yard which of course always excites me I would love to hear what's going on with you this week how's your you're going to recognize some of the items in my pantry like all the reron the macaroni the M soft bars ah it was it was a super fun month of couponing and rebate shopping in August and probably a lot of you have some of the similar items that I have and it feels like I say this every time I get in this pantry and clean it out I need to do it a little more often like once every 90 days would be good I ended up finding I have I think it was six boxes of penet pasta because the pantry got a mess and it got shoved behind something and I didn't think I had any and so then I bought two boxes we'll definitely go through it but I was like oh my gosh you just bought two boxes they were on sale for a dollar so that was a good deal but I was like geez you got you already had four and you just bought two more so I'll be showing you in a little bit um the things that I've decided to get rid of I'm going to donate a little bag full of stuff that I just don't think we will go through before it expires and you know expiration dates are always just they're kind of a guide if something's been expired for over a year I'm probably not going to donate it nor am I going to keep it I probably had about maybe six things that were spired but most of them were they had already been opened um like maybe a box of crackers and they got stale and I thought I was just about done with Panter then I remembered I didn't do this top shelf yet so I got to go through this top shelf I think we're all different when it comes to expiration dates uh for instance my husband if it's expired one day he's like it's bad and I'm like it's never been opened it's not bad yet I promise you but then you'll have some people that are like well it's only 2 years old and it hasn't been open where I'm like M that's pushing the limit for me no thank you but like I found um a package of cookies in here Keebler fudge stripe which my girls love and I love too it expired 3 months ago and I was like it hasn't been opened yet I think it's still going to be fine they actually ate all of the cookies cuz I had put them front and center so they could see them they ate them all and something came up about things being expired the other day and I was like yeah those cookies that you girls been eating they expired in May and they were like Mom and I'm like they're fine I have exciting news I can't remember if I shared this yet I don't think I have but vivana went through driver's training this summer and she now has her permit so uh I'm making her drive me around everywhere so she's getting lots of experience so uh she's only taken segment one of driver's training um they have to have so many drive hours before they can take segment two to get their actual license so she's been driving for about two weeks now I think two three weeks now um so it's been going really good she's doing actually quite amazing all right so I think I'm finished uh with that pantry I looks so much better so these expired in May so that's been what June July 3 months I tried one it tasted fine so now that we know that we have them uh Donna loves these so I'll just put them in the candy drawer and those will get eaten these expired in May I think as well they were hidden in the back which my girls love these anyways they haven't been opened so yeah May um so we'll open those I'm sure they'll be fine these expired in February they've been open I tried one they were super stale so I'm going to throw that away so this is all just stuff I need to break down and recycle um either it has just a teeny little bit of stuff left and so I'm throwing it away because it's stale or expired um and then this stuff over here is stuff that I'm donating that I know we just won't eat but it's still good uh the coffee I'm not I just need to put that in a different spot I only have this here for guests cuz we don't drink coffee this was an item I got through couponing probably would have never bought them um had it not been for getting them for super duper cheap I think like 30 cents these are delicious I just tried these the other night I got them like a month ago uh super good I really liked them so highly recommend uh these are another thing I got through couponing totally free and they are really good as well so highly recommend these another thing I got through couponing is these Club minis parli parmesan garlic got these for free I haven't actually tried these yet I think I got two boxes um the hubs has tried them and he said they are so good so I probably would have never bought any of those I just stick with the things I know that we like but it makes it fun to be able to try new things some things I don't like or we don't like as a family and other things we do so definitely would give those a try and these a try all right let's take a look at some before and afters all right didn't even take me an hour to complete it uh this is what it looked like before it was total chaos and don't forget I had 10 boxes of snack bars sitting on the counter cuz I couldn't fit them in here and then we're going to head outside so now after I got in here and just rearranged things got rid of some things got a little bag for donation I can see everything it feels so much better it looks so much better and I'm so glad I took the time to do this today day all right we're going to head outside and the first thing we're going to do is say hello to sweetie I wanted to give you an update on how her foot is doing hi good morning cutie how's your foot hi yes I got one okay you're putting a little bit you're still dragging it a little bit hi good morning hi there you go you're putting a lot more pressure on that for sweetie that makes me so happy oh my gosh she's eating sitting up you guys that is big oh honey your foot's feeling a lot better I'm so so happy oh my sweet girl I'm so happy look at her sitting on those back legs eating just like a regular old squirrel oh honey I know you're still dragging it a little oh okay but you're doing it you are doing it I'm so happy sweetie well I spoke a little too soon I mean not really she just kind of flopped down yep see she probably can only do it for so long and then you know it's still healing um hopefully it just heals up all the way I'm sure it will it's only been what like a week and a half what do breaks usually take to he are you coming to get another one hi yes you're moving around really good yes come on I got got some water out there for you too hi hi my sweetest girl hi there we go here it is why you looking at my shoes honey what happened I think she has trouble seeing come here here you go honey yeah it's right here he right here hi honey what happened come on oh here here you want me to just drop it for you no come on come on my sweet girl there we go yes there we go there we go okay okay my sweet girl oh she going to sit up yes you're going to sit up in all right so I purchased some mums um my grocery store had them out for uh $6 so I got four I tried to get ones that weren't flowering but I did really want a yellow and they literally only had one yellow left and it's majorly flowering um this is a purple one it's just starting to get some flowers and that is an orange one so I thought they're Hardy to zones 5 through n so I want to put them in the ground um I don't want to buy mums anymore I've done it for a couple years um and they just die so quick so anyways I'm going to pop these in the ground I have seen the foliage in the summertime before they're blooming and it is gorgeous foliage so I thought I'm trying to decide do I want to put all four in this bed or do I put three in this bed um anyways it's the end of August so I think if I get them in the ground now they should establish and hopefully come back next year I'm so excited to put some dang mums in the ground I've been wanting to do this for a couple years and I just I don't know I know do it so I'm just kind of spacing them out and trying to figure out where I want them um I'm I'm certain I'm probably going to run into you know I got my dead tree here um so I'm probably going to run into some tree roots and things like that I've never planted anything in this bed this high up I've only done like last year I had daas around the border and this year I've got my rud beia and blackeyed Susan around the border so I'm sure I'm going to run into some things because it's getting pretty close to the tree um but we'll we'll just figure that out and deal with it and as you can see first place I try to put my shovel in I am struggling I'm using my root Slayer my favorite tool it does cut through the ground a lot easier than a regular shovel at least for me um but I'm I think I'm running into a tree root already all right I got a pretty big tree route here so my shovel is not cutting through it so I grabb the loppers um it's from this dead tree here so obviously I'm not worried about cutting it it probably even if the tree was alive cutting one small little root probably would be just fine but let's just get this out of here there we go probably going to run into this with everyone H so it didn't that didn't seem so thick I'm surprised my shovel wouldn't go through it but it wouldn't I tried so we'll fill this with compost of course that's what I do every time I plant something give it a little feed and help amend my soil my very clay wet soil from all the rain uh a little bit let's see it's big enough these are just little guys so hopefully they will grow big and beautiful almost hi bumble okay all right I got a bucket of compost I'm just going to throw some down at the bottom and then also fill the sides okay all right She's a Beauty she is a beauty going to look at the tag I think they get don't know quite a bit bigger than this once they grow probably not whole I won't expect too much growth this year but um hopefully we'll get a little bit and then next year once she blooms I saw these in my friend viven's Garden um and the foliage is just so beautiful even though it didn't have flowers when I was there over the summer I was like what is this she's like it's a mom and I'm like oh every fall I kept thinking I need to plant the mums in the ground and then I just wouldn't and then you know they die so quick so now hopefully I'll have them for years to come even if I decide not to keep them here I can move them all right let's get the other two in the ground well three I'm going to put three over here like I said I've been saying for a couple years I I need to put the mums in the ground and then I never do it and when I was at Vivian's house this summer and I was just walking through any anytime I go anywhere I walk through people's Gardens cuz I want to look at them I want to get inspired and I could not believe how pretty this mound of foliage was and to find out it was a mum I'm running into something again and I'm also struggling with the dang weed barrier I hate the dang fabric weed barrier it's giving me a lot of trouble right here this I don't think is a tree rout I think this might be a rock cuz it is I don't think a tree rout I'm going to try see if I can yeah oh it is a rock look at that oh we found a really nice rock for our halfways oh we got to wash it off look at that big old rock okay that was fun finding a rock I'm much more conscious now when I find those things to save them because I know I will use them oh got to put compost there's my compost that's a nice size Little Rock okay that hole actually is a little too deep now let me break up some of this stinking clay actually don't mind the clay soil I mean for some areas it's not great um but I'm just slowly amending as I go with compost basically um so there okay I'm going to W need to get some more compost this stupid weed barrier probably already said that when I was editing it is the worst the worst I'm never ever use that again I'll always do the cardboard I think because breaks down you're it's so easy to plant around it and I mean within 18 months of laying this weed barrier though we've got weed so it it doesn't matter if I have to replace the cardboard every couple years I got to replace this and it's virtually impossible would you throw mulch over it and lung strips with you know the fabric um what am I trying to say the Staples like the things you use to hold it in place it's like virtually impossible to get it all up so anyways all right we just got one more left all right so those are in the ground um the red one and the yellow one are blooming I lost a couple oh hi Chickity hi hi chity I lost a couple of the yellow flowers um which you know that's just to be expected I don't now I'm thinking maybe I am going to plant the fourth one I was just going to leave it with three um I think I am just going to put the fourth one over there I was kind of thinking I would put it look at these dang Cosmos they're finally starting to bloom but I don't know how tall that one is uh 5 and 1/2 ft tall and it hasn't bloomed and remember last week I got that little teeny baby thing that's like a couple inches tall and it bloom anyways I was thinking yeah you can't even see overall the cosmos I was thinking of putting the purple one under this tree cuz I have nothing planted here yet of course I haven't redone this bed yet and we still got wood chips to disperse um but as you can see the Sun hits under this tree quite well and I was thinking what do I do I want to plant something underneath that tree I think that would look pretty um but you know what never mind I'm just going to put it over there all right they are in the ground so I have purple orange yellow red once they all Bloom out I think that will look lovely and they should get bigger I think the tag what does the tag say um uh height 18 to 24 in space to space 12 to 24 in so I'm not going to water them right now I'm water I'm later but I'm not sure if we're supposed to get rain again today the pots were very wet um and we've had so much rain and they've been sitting just in their pots right here plus the soil is super wet right now so I've got two buckets of dirt cuz I used compost to fill most of the hole um so I'm going to take these buckets of dirt to the back and fill some of the holes I'm trying to fill back there and wash that rock off you know the holes we created from digging up some rocks in this bed that we moved and so while I was back here I thought well let me just go on a rock digging Expedition and see what other rocks I can potentially get up from this bed that I can manage by myself while my husband's at work and I don't even know how many rocks are in here again remember I told you last video I think it was the previous owner had like a little Pond right here and the whole Pond was lined with rocks um and the pond was a pain in the butt it was just a mosquito magnet and we ended up filling it in so we have use for these other rocks um that I would like to put somewhere else so I'm going to see what I can find [Music] that's a nice one big but not too big but I can't move it all right see rocks over here digging up rocks and moving them around is OMG such hard work it doesn't I mean even that rock that I just dug up that was buried it doesn't look that big but dang they're so heavy I need to start lifting weights I'm I'm realizing I need to build my muscles up because oh my gosh I can't believe this Little Rock Hunting Expedition how hard it was and plus remember I told you we had heat advisories so it was I don't know 85° this day but the humidity was like super superer high so you know that also plays a factor in it that's a nice one too okay so I'm just going to keep digging and get everything I can up CU I want to finish this bed um hopefully by the weekend maybe my husband can help me um get some of the bigger rocks that I just can't move by myself like that one that's been sitting there the one that's I don't know the one that's you can kind of see um right there I don't know that might be too big for me then I found a a massive one that was buried well I say massive but it was massive for me just by myself to do it I don't know how much it weighed 40 lb maybe well heck EJ weighs 40 lb and I still throw him up in the air so it must have been more more than 40 lb okay ow that's a heavy one okay one two three I got a lot I'm sweating there okay let's wash these rocks off well and this was a mistake not washing the Rocks off I wanted to wash them off but I shouldn't have done it in this bed cuz this dang dirt just turns into mud so then one of them got stuck I couldn't move it but look at how nice these are they're going to look great on a pathway lining a pathway that one I could pick up pretty easily this one I had to roll it I did end up picking it up I don't even know how cuz it was so dang heavy all right that one I shouldn't have I should have just rolled it off there before I tried to wash it off cuz this stupid dirt my husband put over here just turns into mud so now I can't move it so I'm going to need to wait for his help with that but I did get these two big ones washed off for the most part that one's got a little bit of moss on there that's fine I'm just going to keep it there um all of these this is the one that I pulled from the front bed um and then I got all of these so I got a lot of rocks now uh let's see if we can figure out something to do with them while I'm back here I thought I would just show you this well first of all remember this guy yeah he looks terrible he started after I caught him back or her back whatever uh flushed out just beautiful just the way I wanted and then we got all that rain and it's so completely water logged that it's dying I don't know if it's I need to poke holes through maybe the soil is too compact but then we got more rain H the poor little thing but anyways remember I showed you mirold holy crap I cannot believe how big oh no it's so big one of them's falling down I wonder if it broke look at how pretty oh my gosh I'm just completely floored did it break I can't tell if it broke I need to try to support it um it's just massive just Absol absolutely massive and it just my husband was like oh no you got a plant that's leaning no that's just the way it grew I potted it in there it was just a little teeny thing and the stem just grew up sideways but oh she's just beautiful I will definitely plant more of those I must have not thrown any seeds or they didn't germinate cuz the ones that did germinate are I had two colors you can see those over there let's go check and see if anything else is germinated over here well Zena looks good Zena looks good Miracle looks like that just started germinating where's my little baby did I lose my little baby Cosmo there's another Zena yeah it looks like maybe I lost my little baby Cosmo yeah cuz she was right by this one oh there it is right here she must have been done flowering um the marles look lovely I wonder if something would have eaten that maybe I don't know I had the deers here this morning I'll pop a picture up on the screen I had just taken the girls to school and my husband text us in a group chat um which of course I didn't see until we got to school cuz I don't check my phone while I'm driving um four deer a mama and three babies were back here and I was like a they're so cute please don't eat the hostas I mean they've already they've already eaten all of the hostas back here that's looking beautiful look at how pretty that flower is it's very small but that's very pretty yeah they got one leaf looks like maybe I got some new hostas that are starting to grow here from the all the eaten ones all of my hostas well I shouldn't say all a lot of the hosta is eaten there we got I told you B lots of rain and we had 60 mph wind so my yard is just full of sticks and leaves and that's a fairly large branch that came down there um all these poor hasta over here have just been eaten down like all of the leaves are gone and this is where I have oh there's two little couple little leaves there I think that one back there is a different kind than the rest of them there's more over there they've all been eating oh do you remember the video where I planted some hanging pots and I did this uh double impatience oh my wow it I almost was going to put something else in the pot with it and then I was like no I think it might get big oh oh yes it has gotten big it is beautiful I mean just beautiful I put it on the swing set because it gets a good amount of shade over here it needs shade and every time I look out the window I see it it's just oh my gosh so pretty all right let me uh I don't know let's move on to the next thing in the video which might be placing those racks yep I figured while I was out here I don't know I lifted that one I don't even know how I got it up in the wheelbarrow but I did so let's start lining this pathway that we just recently created with these rocks that I just dug up from the back I mean it's not going to take me very far but at least it'll be a little start and give me a little bit of a vision of what it will look like if I line this area with rocks cuz I wasn't sure how I wanted to line it and so I thought well let me just try the rocks that I can find and see if I like it like that and there was no way I was going to try to I don't know again don't know how I got this lifted up into the wheelbarrow I'm just going to dump it out I'm not trying to lift it out [Music] and then I just got a couple more um little ones that I'll place down and then I remembered you know how I put in the back one of the back Pathways I had some logs um that I just put down there cuz we didn't have enough rocks at the time to line that and I thought I think I have just a couple more um logs back there and I did I just had two I don't know if I'll actually keep these here but I'm just going to put these down right now cuz I'm not doing anything with them anyways all right I had two little logs left so I just laid those down it didn't hardly cover anything but I think it looks really pretty I think it will look really pretty once I go all the way through um it'll look way more intentional that's just wow I can't believe how much work it is for just what little I covered and I was thinking man I need a lot more rocks cuz I got to cover that side too and I definitely have some more in the back um but then I was looking around I got rocks all like all lining these Beds which I think my husband has moved a lot to line them but I don't know that I want to line all of these beds um I think some rocks in here intentionally placed or just you know wherever um um would look pretty because I'm planting flowers and things in here so maybe I'll take some of these and that will help not some of the like these big ones in the front are not moving we are not moving those well probably not uh but some of these these will work I think for a pathway um I've got I've got a bunch of smaller ones lining all through here that I mean I already have a liner down um and that's precious planting space I could be using I don't know I got to think about it but I think that might look good if I can get this lined all the way down what do you think so um all right that's it we're going to finish the video out I got the pantry back to organized looking so much better uh got some rocks we went on a rock digging Expedition rocks dug up still got a couple more I need my husband's help with that'll add a couple of big rocks over here and uh we'll finish off with looking at the beautiful mums that I got planted I hope I was able to keep you company while you're working on a project uh or I hope I inspired you to maybe work on a project but we got the beautiful mums planted in here and those should be blooming out with probably within a week or two uh so I think they're going to look just beautiful uh once they get big so thanks so much for spending some time with me today I appreciate you and I am
