The Untold TRUTH About Tulsi Gabbard

The Untold Truth About Tulsi gabard hi there Crypt Van Dick algy here it's another beautiful day here at ethereum place in Hawaii this story speaks to the character of Tulsi gabard it is a firstperson account something that I was involved with when I was a reporter at the Abc affiliate here in Honolulu I can't remember the exact date I think it was around 2005 or 2006 Tulsi gabard would have been I think at that time in the state legislature she was um the youngest representative in the state legislature youngest female representative she later was on the city council and then the uh us uh uh Congress congressional representative for Hawaii so she's been active in politics for many years and I was a longtime reporter I interviewed Tulsi a lot interacted with her a lot know her father Mike interviewed him a number of times so this this is a story that involved tulsey gabard my cameraman and I used to go to a Thai restaurant and um we were friends with a waitress that worked there and this waitress was an immigrant from Thailand who had two young children and Hawaii is an expensive place to live so she lived in not exactly the most upscale part of town and one day we were in the restaurant and interacting with her and she said dick could you do a news story I said yeah about what she said well my kids can't play outside because somebody's dumping old tires in the neighborhood next to our apartment building and the tires are collecting rainwater and mosquitoes breed in there and at that time there was a Deni fever outbreak in Hawaii so she was afraid to let her kids even go outside because there were so many mosquitoes because of all the old piles of tires I said that's a great story I took shots of the tires we took shots of the kids I interviewed her showed the apartment building and I called the mayor's office thinking hey the power the press to get something good done so I called the mayor's office and uh the city and county pretty much blew me off they didn't want to uh do anything about it apparently and so I put the story on without that without a good Landing was like the kids can't play and the tires are still there mayor never got back to me mayor's office I'm not going to name names it was it was whoever was mayor back in the mid 2000s and uh so we went to the Thai restaurant again a few weeks later and the waitress said Thank you kund dick thank you thank you uh why she said well the tires are gone they're they're uh they're all gone said how did that happen she said tulsey gabard got a hold of me came to see me and arranged to have them all picked up and cleaned out tulsey gabard who was the state legislature this was City and County's um jurisdiction but Tulsi got it done so I called tuls gabard and I said telsey you got to let me know when you get something like this done we'll have the cameras there we'll get the video of the tires being hauled away you can hug the mother and we'll interview you and this is a feel-good story and like good press all around and Tulsi said no no no no no I don't please don't do a story on it I said Tulsi this is this is a great story please let me do it we're all going to look great here tulsy said I don't want to look good I I I I really don't want uh I don't want any notoriety for this I Didn't Do It For The Press I didn't do it to get my face on TV I just did this cuz it touched me that that poor woman's kids couldn't go out and play and I wanted help so we got it done and we'll just drop it here so tulsey never took credit for that but uh Tulsa's in the news today and she is undoubtedly being attacked but I just wanted to speak about her character and this was a personal story and she would not take credit for that and finally all these days I want to speak up and say tulsy uh because her good heart used the position she had without credit to help this lady that's what kind of person telsey Gabbert is uh I respect her a lot so that's our story [Music]
