[Music] welcome to the show it's IB Nation Sports Talk we're up been running he's Jesse Styers I am Sean Styers I am in Albany New York with the Notre Dame women's basketball team sweet 16 coming up tomorrow my friends the Irish take on Oregon State at 2:30 has that showed up anywhere on any of your uh priz picks Jesse I it all baseball today all baseball and it's actually funny because I wanted to look at the women's line versus Oregon State but I don't think that they've released any of the women's stuff yet not even on FanDuel not even on FanDuel and this was yesterday so let me let me take a double look right now yeah I I'm only seeing the men's stuff which is kind of frustrating because it's the it's the last six they had stuff all the other games so it's just like yeah I don't understand why there isn't one for fo oh here it is I found it okay found it good news Notre Dame is a three and a half point favorite for tomorrow's game interesting okay over under 132 yeah I mean 132 so it's a 6565 game I think that's probably the right ballpark these are two pretty defensive oriented teams Notre Dame in Oregon State I I think that it very well could up being end up being a defensive battle with with the Irish trying to get to the elite eight for the first time since 2019 when they of course advance to the national championship game but um we are we're staying right in Downtown Albany and the arena is like a f minute walk from here maybe like it might like the actual to get to the arena is not even five minutes to get you know like around to the media entrance adds a few minutes so that probably makes it five but it's right here so it's it's called MVP Arena and you know and and um interestingly the Caitlyn Clark experience is going to be invading the hotel that Notre Dame is in uh so at some point today they could already be here Iowa is also staying in this hotel because I think I mentioned earlier this week they're going to be playing in the other the the Albany region Albany 2 region basically Iowa and and LSU are are over in that one so so uh Caitlyn Clark and and that whole group are going to be here so it's you better watch out you might find yourself on camera for like a 30 for30 documentary down the road you never know that's like a background body or something I know I know um I didn't realize how close Albany is to Massachusetts it's like very Eastern New York the Hudson river runs right by here but you're right yeah like Albany is is Northeast Eastern I don't know if it's considered North it's north of New York City anyway but it's I mean it's kind of in a tri-state area because you can get New Hampshire yeah New Hamshire is right there yep yeah I didn't you know me and geography not great so when you said Albany I was like let me pull this up and see where you're actually at Tommy appreciate your thoughts on my back it is uh I know that Jesse somebody I think Anthony brought it up on yesterday's show I was listening to Jesse and and Vince's show from yesterday and uh the back Saga it's it's actually a little bit better held up on the flight I didn't have to take any Extreme Measures you know no uh none of the uh what did you call it the pocket shots pocket shots didn't have to do any of the pocket shots although they were on hand just in case made it like 95% of the flight started started getting a little bit shaky toward the end because the seats were not the most comfortable um but it is it has held up there has been a lot of uh stretching and you know um uh what would you call it Mobility type exercises that I've been long standing because the sitting is really what hurts yeah it is it's a that's the weird thing is standing is actually better you would think that because the compression on your spine the standing would obviously make it worse but I'm actually feeling best when I am standing and moving around so I mean that's actually good for me so I just being you know being in this environment where you're in a hotel and you know trying to get work done and all that different kind of stuff not the greatest but it's held up so I'm happy about that I'm pretty happy about it today was practice day today though here and not we're gonna get some football some Jeremiah love some deal McCulla in a minute I wanted to pop this up Oregon state had some practice this morning if I can find it there it is and I'm GNA pop this up here everyone years the Oregon state center and that is her with that mask and those knee braces on right there that's a big girl yes she averages over 17 points she averages a double double 17 and a 12 points 10.2 rebounds they let us in for the first 10 minutes of practice this morning and that was it they kicked you out after 10 minutes and it's one of those it's not really a practice it's more a shoot around anyway because like Notre Dame did their practice about an hour after Oregon State you know right after Oregon States ended and then they actually left the arena to go to another school to do an actual you know closed door practice where nobody was around but they only let us in for about 10 minutes but uh that's that's beers the one that everyone's talking about she'll kind of be the focal point tomorrow she is really good I'm what I'm curious about in this matchup I think the most Jesse is just the experience Factor this is the third straight sweet 16 for Notre aame whereas Oregon State hasn't been to the tournament for a few years so they I think it's uh the three year it's been three years basically since they've been to the tournament so they essentially have a roster that's fairly young pretty good but they haven't been in this environment before so I'll be curious to see how much the experience Factor matter yeah I would be so when we've kind of or when I've laid out my case for Notre Dame you know I've said this before really good home away neutral you bring in their sweet 16 appearance you bring in the the big stage of Albany and the sweet 16 I feel more confident in Notre Dame's preparation and nerves than I am you know comparatively to Oregon State I guess the biggest thing for me would be like what did you think of beers in comparison to kitley just in in terms of like are they similar sized are they you know what I mean like is it beers is a little sturdier um there's a there is a player named River Baldwin who plays for North Carolina State and beers reminds me a little bit more of her I'll be curious to see how physical you know she can play because the thing with kitley is this was obviously before kit ley's injury but but Notre D was able to really physical with kitley and made her completely ineffective there's some similarities though between Oregon State in Virginia Tech who klyy plays for you know played for in that uh you know they both have a good Center they play inside out they shoot they shoot the three-pointer you know that's going to be a big uh a big factor in this game o Oregon State hits nearly eight three-pointers per game they make nearly eight three-pointers per game that is a lot yeah so I I think that that's something you know Notre Dame this isn't new to them they've played a team that has you know solid big players they're probably going to use a game plan that mirrors are you know very similar to that approach and at that point it's game on I trust Notre Dame's you know players I trust their experience and their coaching staff um and I I think they're going to get it done against Oregon State I think it's obviously going to be a bit closer than their first two games but I feel really good about this game in general I think that they match up up well and there's nothing where I'm overly concerned about yeah I do too I you know again I like the guard matchup the biggest factor is going to be how you contend with her can you stay out of foul trouble that's it's going to come down to that you know but really the last couple of games have you throw out the beers you know how do you how do you match up with her how do you contend with her like the foul trouble has been a question and Notre Dame has gotten into a little bit of foul trouble I would expect them to play a lot of Zone you know there's they just they can't get into foul trouble westbeld especially I think you know again I think that they'll they'll probably they'll they'll try to play probably as much Zone as they can but the three-point thing is going to be a factor as well the fact that Oregon State if Oregon state starts hitting them then that can change everything you know those those are the two biggest keys I think so should be a fun one tomorrow you want to talk some football I do want to talk some football there's been a lot of buzzz recently about different guys kind of trying out different spots you know the new offense being explosive quote unquote so yeah by the way we'll talk more Notre a in the sweet 16 and rapid fire in a little bit as well but um yeah you're exactly you're exactly right and I know you guys talked a little bit about Jeremiah Love and and the whole you know moving to receiver or not moving to receiver but playing wide receiver getting reps at wide receiver yeah I know you guys talked about it but before I left town yesterday I slipped over to practice at the Irish athletic center and also managed to uh to grab some audio post-practice from both Jeremiah Love and de Mulla and Marty BAGI actually as well and we'll hear from from Marty later on in Rapid Fire but you know this is one of those things it's like there's there's always something that happens in spring and it kind of catches on like wildfire and this was like the well you know besides the injury injuries but we didn't find out about the injuries when we went to practice we found out otherwise you know at Marcus Freeman's press conference he disclosed the injury to Riley Leonard and then of course the school released a statement earlier this week as well about the surgery that Benjamin Morrison had but this one we show up at practice and there's Jeremiah Love playing some slot receivers out there running routes and catching passes and you know it certainly caught everyone's attention and then fortunately as fate would have it it also happened on the day that we were scheduled to talk to Jeremiah love and to De McCulla as well so here's a little bit of Jeremiah love talking about playing wide receiver this spring it started shoot soon as Spring ball started so I'm trying to take this into the season or we're trying to take it into the season I'm just doing right now I'm just playing slot uh trying to get a foundation in receiver so that I can be able to move back and forth between receiver and running back INF I'm very good out in space so putting me in the slot or putting me a receiver and trying to get me the ball in space is uh fit my play style so I like that they're doing that but I also want to play running back at the same time so spring I'm going to use this as you know to set my foundation and receiver so that in the season they can maybe put together packages for me or anything like that so that I can go out into the slot and know what I'm doing and to be able to run good routes and make Place felt a little bit you know like some of some of the selling points you know that they were like giving Jeremiah love when they did it's like hey look you're really good in space we like you in space you can make plays how can we get you the ballmore that's right everyone's favorite thing get bald more yes exactly so what do you think are the biggest benefits of of moving love out to receiver um I think I kind of got into this a little bit with Vince yesterday the thing that that I would like to see is if you come out in a single running back or two running back set and you can motion love out to the slot and so you can get the defense to move pre- snap really easy right that's that's an easy coverage indicator um and Mike D Brock likes to do he likes motion and then if you go like empty or spread you can you can start with love in the slot and then of course maybe motion him back to the Back Field right and so however they have to get him the ball I don't think it matters of if it's a straight handoff if it's a pass or Kirk herb Street's favorite you know extension of the Run game that some people call it on those short screens where the quarterback is you know getting the ball out I just like the versatility of Jeremiah Love and really what it shows me is he W has to be someone that is one of the most explosive explosive players on the offense right because they're not doing this with everyone and two they have to be comfortable with where he's at in terms of being a running back because you're not going to ask a guy to go take reps at wide receiver if he Str struggling with you know his running back load and so I think it shows you know he is very comfortable in his running back I guess tool set or you know comfortability with the Playbook Etc they know what he can do and so then they're they theyve seen it and said you know hey how can we get more out of him and so again I like it a lot because of what you can do formally being being able to bring him you know in and out of the back field line him up at slot maybe that that that's a motion to The Back Field or maybe he motions completely across the formation or maybe he starts in the back field like it's just something that the defense now has to be worried about right like you you have to your eyes are looking at him you're changing you know depending on what he's motioning they're changing their stuff it just creates more pre- snap confusion as well so I like this a lot it's like it's like what they should have done with Tyrie in my opinion what we kept saying a lot of last year of instead of a an actual full-time move to receiver just do more stuff with him doing both basically yeah exactly or coming out finding ways to line up in the back field and you know motion out to wide receiver whatever it might be this is what I thought Chris tyr's role was going to kind of be last year yeah because I mean Tyrie we saw it in that Fiesta Bowl a couple of years ago he went out and was doing some stuff in the slot but he was also still playing running back he has what he has speed he has a he has that same kind of and I there were already some comparisons between Tyrie and Jeremiah Love coming out of that sunbowl because the fact that he didn't have a great game in the sunbowl when he only averaged 2.6 yards per carry on 15 carries you know it it was like H where whereas jadarian price had 13 carries Ed up for over you know over a 100 yards and averaged over eight yards per carry you know so it was like you could you could see a contrast in those kind of guys and that's the thing with price for as fast as he is you obviously want that skill set on the field you want that shiftiness you want guys to be able to to use their their full skill set but or I think I might have said price the thing with love is he's the smallest of the running backs just in terms of detail if you want just just how that kind of causes you know different uncertainty in in you know defensive assignments and those kind of things yeah especially when you're not prepared for it right you're instantly kind of scanning trying to figure out okay what are we doing and then boom snap of the ball so it's just like it's those little things as defensive linebackers like if you're not locked in and fully engaged and and and there's you know you're still trying to figure out what's going on and how to set the defense and then boom they snap the ball you're already a second behind a step behind right and that's that can be all that someone like Jeremiah Love needs honestly like he's a guy when he hits the seam he's he's out of there right like one cut and go I don't think there's he is definitely on the top of the roster of guys who just the ability to to cut and go you know what I mean like and I think that's why he's getting this opportunity at wide receiver is he's a guy who can catch one foot in the ground and he can absolutely take off right the the shiftiness the ability to get out of Cuts Etc there's no one he's got to be at least top five on the roster of just that overall speed and athleticism so here is uh de Mulla talking a little bit about this move as well Jeremiah love playing some wide receiver I was by Design you know to say he what's the opportunity to get Jeremiah some specific training at receiver like some of the Nuance things and not just say hey go line up out there in the four spot and run a Sluggo you know they got just take off R to go you know so he get some specific training there so that's what we took these last couple days to do again going back to the beauty of the room you can remove a guy like you just keep on going it's not like man you know what we need him back cuz we can't we can't run the ball today we can't do good things at running back that's not the case I mean and me and Jeremiah still have conversation still met off to the side on hey here's what because everything is still in review mode there's still things to knock dust off of what he did and a lot of that decision was based on how he was doing up to this point now if I told if I told Coach Den hey this guy been grading at 62% 71% 52% in these practices 81% the standard is you got to at least be 85% guy to even be considered to play football considered to play running back you know he was grading at a high enough clip that I didn't feel that it would be a detriment to him to say you can go ahead and go over there for a couple days and I find that you know like de Mela has always kind of been up front about you know the different jobs and the different duties of the running backs and and stuff like that and you heard him there he went he went into some other detail about his grading process and we can probably get into that a little bit next week but you you heard him right there like you've got a grade out at 85% to be getting reps at at that position you know to be on the field as a running back and and uh so if he wasn't grading out where he needed to be they wouldn't let him split some time over there at wide receiver because it's then because then it's taking away from his ability to get out there and actually be a running back but when you look at so many different bodies and like you got a guy like kedron young who granted he's been you know injured a little bit during the spring so we haven't seen much of him and anias Williams you know yet but the fact that you do have so many so many different guys who can contribute I think that this just does nothing but essentially help the Arsenal that you have by letting a guy like Jeremiah Love also learn how to play wide receiver because as he said he's not just running a Sluggo he can actually run a route tree like he he learns the route tree and he can contribute as a guy who can do actual things as a receiver rather than going out there and just being basic when he lines up you know out there in the slot or wherever it happens to be yeah sorry go ahead I really liked that Mulla you know basically kind of got into what I was talking a little bit go ago about love is like this just speaks to the depth of the running back room the ability to move guys around and still you know feel like you're fully operational you're not missing a beat um at practice and then you know in terms of of Jeremiah Love and being able to run the entire route tree that's just just that's just so good for the offense right because then he can he can he can be able to adapt to AUD hot routes changes like he's not just out there specifically to to run one route right like it that's something defenses would very easily lock on to oh you know 20's on the field he's you know we've seen him run this one route right this this entire time he's gonna run a short corner is he like yeah skinny post or you know whatever it happens but what this sounds like to me is you know Notre Dame doesn't Jeremiah Love isn't the Workhorse back he's not your power back he's not running a lot you know between the tackles you know that those sort of schemes but it sounds like they they have a Target snaps that they want Jeremiah love to get and I don't think he's fully gonna reach that at running back and so then the question had to be you know if he's getting if we want Jeremiah love to get 30 offensive snaps and he's and we plan on him getting maybe you know 16 18 carries how are we making up the difference okay here it is at wide receiver because again he he just the ability those boom plays you know what I mean like those those touchdown type plays and that's that's what it is is getting guys on the field as much as possible who create those sort of Boom plays those touchdown plays the explosive play rate that you see often talked about look I talked for two years that and someone else mentioned it earlier I apologize I I didn't start up when I saw it Michael Park says Jay Alvin kic Wills Jay love I could I could absolutely absolutely see that but they underutilized Chris Tyree for two years and two different offensive coordinators now you've got a completely different kind of offensive coordinator I.E an experienced one with with a system of his own who I you know who obvious also just came from LSU where they have a lot of good athletes down there as well and um they could have been doing this going all the way back to when Brian Kelly was here when Chris Tyre Tyree was a freshman and sophomore it didn't just have to be you know Kiren Williams out there being the main running back especially considering the state of the wide receiver room they could have had Chris Tyrie on the field in a lot of different capacities and this this gives Notre Dame now the wide receiver room should be in a much better place this year but this still just gives Notre Dame a better chance options as you said it yeah it gives you more options and it gives Jeremiah love more options as well to to get him out there on the field and be a contributor and be a real differen maker on Saturdays yeah what I talked about with Vince yesterday was the the way I kind of think about it is I don't think it's an issue to have quote unquote too many wide receivers or running backs or skill position players because if you're Mike denrock what are you doing you're literally finding okay I have this pool of players how can I come up with different combinations of putting them on the field right like are we gonna see a love FAS on Chris Mitchell package are we gonna see you know what I mean that's what I think the fun that you can get into by introducing more things that someone like Jeremiah Love can do is it allows Personnel packages to just be different and and honestly more Elite in my opinion just having guys on the field who could absolutely burn the turf in terms of their speed Michael Park said day and night I I I thought he said three dog night there for a second but that's um now I lost my train of thought how about Jeremiah love you know he he went into some depth about how he's splitting time between the two positions running back and wide receiver for the most part I've been receivers for like the past two days this is my second day um but I've also been at running back too like I meet like I text coach D and you know just to ask about if there anything new going on in the room like new plays or anything like that and I watch film at running back too so I'm not necessarily necessarily missing out on anything because I already have a foundation and and running back and it's not that hard like if a new play comes in all I got to do is just you know contact coach what's what's going on with this play and it's usually only like one or two new plays that come in like every once in a while and then a receiver um I've been with them a lot just trying to learn all the routes and I think the plan right now is to just get me a foundation and receiver so as when we get closer to the season if they want to they can throw in a Packers for me and I don't what I'm all right so there you heard him uh you know discussing how he is his splitting his time do you see any downside to this I guess no because it's it's not like again that Jeremiah Love is Like Your Premier back like they have two to three running backs and it is very clear that they are going to use them based on Personnel packaging um what they are good at right like like if if if we know that some guys are better pass blockers some guys are better between the tackle runs some guys are more you know off tackle Runners like these running backs are going to be splitting the load regardless so right so it's not like you're asking audri esime to go take you know reps at wide receiver you're a premier running back you know the guy that's going to give you you know at least probably 75% of the workload it's just not the same with Jeremiah Love and and again it's about getting him on the field as much as possible whether that's running back reps wide receiver reps they just want they they believe it's like it's like pitchers who have a pitch count like right when they get between 90 and 100 managers know it's time to get him out Notre Dame Mike Den Brock the offensive staff says hey we see Jeremiah love as an x amount of guy you know guy that we need to get him on the field x amount of place and so to me there's no downside it doesn't really matter if it's the label is running back the label is wide receiver I just want him on the field and so this is what gives him the best opportunity to be on the field as much as possible yeah and I love the fact and you've talked about this before it's different when you're doing this in the spring compared to when you're doing it in Fall training camp like this if this was the first time they were doing it and it was training camp you know like in the getting ready for the season that's different this this gives them an opportunity to see what he can do you know this is is really there's just way more leniency it's more relaxed an air happens it's like all right we can work there no pressure that's right in the fall it's like well this doesn't work we're canning it because it's game week we don't have time to waste exactly on stuff that's not working essentially and this gives him a great base of knowledge depth of knowledge again of not just going out and running you know like a play or two you know like Tobias merwether when he was a freshman would talk about how like when they would put him out there on the field he had like especially early on they had just like a set handful of things that he would go out there and do he wasn't necessarily learning the whole Playbook you know he got more of it as the as the season went along but it wasn't the whole play you know this this gives Jeremiah Love a chance to be fully involved in the offense and you know like you were talking like put him next to to Jordan fison out there put the two of them out there together stack alignment and a slot and good luck trying to tail both of them as they go different directions exactly say good luck safeties figuring out figuring out who you're going after you know and then you got big Jaden Thomas doing like a 10 yard in route off of them right over the middle right like it's just it seems like this is some of the stuff that like we we wanted to see more of last year and they're they're starting it this season kind of in where go I was thinking Top Gun you know like two Jets diverging out there and the bogey got to figure out which way they're going to go exactly but that's how it is that's exactly right like two literally it's like him and fath like that that would just have me drooling the the opportunity to to line those guys up right next to each other that's over under how many times we see that over the course of the season I hope at least once a game yeah I mean you were talking about the the number of touches you know I don't know that it's necessarily number of is it number of touches or just plays Play Count snap count being on the field for x amount of plays right right but but as he was saying there there is obviously still a place for him out of the back field as well this just gets him another chance to get on the field and and I mean the comparison with Chris Tyrie is there because they waited until kind of almost until it was too late I'll be curious to see like what happens with Chris Tyrie at Virginia this year and you know like what kind of role he has like is he is he carrying the ball again you know like is he I've got a feeling he's gonna be more than just a wide receiver he's gonna be like what we're talking about just getting a guy the ball no matter how you get it to him right just figure out how to get him the ball and Josh says really hope we see more 21 personnel and I mean if this sticks with Jeremiah love we would theoretically see a lot of 21 Personnel right like yeah like you said maybe you know at least 15 snaps a game or something like you know depending on where he lines up and and all that kind of stuff so big opportunity for that jadarian price though we're going to talk more in detail about here in a minute is you know we saw what he could do actually carrying the ball in the in the sunbowl Mulla talked about some of the differences between price and love Jeremiah is more like as a perimeter receiver type guy I mean Jeremiah could probably I Ain going to say probably he could play he could play receiver you know on on a supremely high level um JD is I won't say he's a more traditional back I mean he's he can he got more running back Nuance to him he is really good catching the ball he can run routes I would say the the big difference between them Jeremiah is really Twitchy I mean that type right there although jeremi although JD has that type of ability too Jeremiah might have a step on him as far as that's concerned and again more of the um in the perimeter in space running routes you know is where Jeremiah is really really Elite if I've never mentioned it before I like listening to D McCulla talk he's a good speaker I know I very like straight to it doesn't dance around any of your questions like gives you ton of stuff to talk about I remember there were a couple guys like after he got introduced you know we were doing like the the press conferences they were like it came away you know talking about oh man he just likes to hear himself talk and you know Pat himself on the back and it's like are you listening to what he's actually talking about because there's a lot of good stuff in there that he's talking about so and it's look look at where they are two years later since he's been in the room it's it's not just patter you know it's there's actual of substance to us to it yep that's right so I thought the the main thing there the the most compelling thing that that was said there was like the the twitchiness and that's like what a wide receiver is is the twitchiness and that's kind of what I was trying to get at earlier and I think that's the perfect word for it when I was talking about you know getting in and out of cuts getting you know to top speed out of a cut like that's what twitchiness um is all about and I think it was funny like he basically was like yeah Jeremiah Love could be a running back he could be a wide receiver he could be you know what I mean he's just that type of guy who seems like he's just a football guy you know just like an overall athlete and that bodess well for Jeremiah love you know why because they're always gonna find a spot for him right and like that exactly and that's why they're doing this right find a spot for him to get him on the field more find a spot and get him even more spots essentially so um it's cool to see D McCulla be so upfront about what these guys are good at or not and I wouldn't say bad at but just better at in comparison than the other ones like he basically was like you know jadarian is is more of your standard typical running back right like he is he is what we consider a running back so it's just it's cool to hear um and it's just it's it's fun to see how all these different running backs bring something to the table and they're all going to have different responsibilities you know on a game- to game basis yeah as Tommy said say he's cross training not moving positions that's exactly right he's he's still doing both right now oops tried to click that out of there I like you know like when you hear him talk about the twitchiness as well and like what it it got me thinking even more about you know was it was it um Michael who's made the Alvin chimra comparison yes and Ryan was talking about Ricky Waters Waters was obviously a little bit thicker and there still room for you know Jeremiah love you know to to put on some more muscle and and stuff like that but like that was like Waters was just I I don't know I realize Waters was before your time but like he and you know Ismael were together and you know like that whole group back there in the late 80s and and early 90s and I know you know Waters like came out of Notre Dame you know thinking like that he was underutilized but he obviously made a very good pro career out of it even though it was with the 49 ERS I don't see Brenton here right now but I mean you'd like just again another really Twitchy type running back who could do a lot of different things Ricky Waters and Alvin chimra and and those type guys just you know like the springiness the tigeress you know in in h those guys have Isaiah Pacho type yeah as well yep that's a good one I like that too because Isaiah Pacho fits his frame a little bit more he's he's not he's definitely under 200 lbs Alvin chra surprisingly weighs like 215 I had to look it up he's a little bit shorter than love but he's he's 215 so yeah I like I think he's he's a lot like Isaiah Peko he's NFL 215 like I wonder what he was in college you know like at this stage in college you know was he closer to where love is right now maybe I think he might be a little bit taller than love if I'm if I'm thinking right you know so Michael says he loves the versatility doesn't tip your hand with position groupings you could have two running backs two wide receivers as a group but in actuality it's that's kind of what I was getting at earlier where like you line them up at at wide receiver in the slot okay motion him to the Back Field see what we got right okay line up with two running backs motion love out to the slot it's it's you're literally like like Michael said you're creating two different Personnel groupings on the field at with one guy basically yeah that's right I really liked that comment yeah that's a good one Joe asked how I got my mic microphone through security well fortunately we Charter so I don't have to worry about that there's a lot of things they do have like a security screening and stuff like that but it's nowhere near you know like the x-rays and all that stuff that you go through when uh when you're uh going through the actual airport Michael says his hometown is Albany a lot of giant well I imagine there's a lot of Giants fans here we're still in New York but he said training camp was here for 15 years boo they told us there was word going around that supposedly we you know don't walk around downtown you know Albany and all this different stuff it's like it's like I think every bigger city is like that you know it's like oh don't walk around but you know you look out and there's like people going to work and the whole thing and went out especially New York there's everyone everywhere that's right Tyler said you think uh water still holds a record for rushing TDS in a Super Bowl I believe five against the Chargers I think he's still running for touchdowns after after that one almost what I guess 30 years later something like that David asked how do you think that Virginia will try to use Tyrie as a poor man's Percy Harin what do you think about that I do actually I don't think it'll be to the quite same extent because wasn't Percy Harvin like a return man as well I think so yeah I don't I don't think they're going to ask Tyrie to do all of that but I I do think they're gonna ask him to do quite a bit um and and that had to be you know I don't want to dig up old memories but that had to be tyree's biggest kind of complaint like he just didn't get the ball enough he didn't get enough touches right like he didn't whether he was at running back wide receiver and what we said you know probably should a combination of the both he just wasn't getting enough touches and I think that's what ultimately Virginia is going to provide him is way more touches he he will be a premier player in that offense well that's we were talking about touches or or total plays early ear and Brian Brian NY said touches we were saying plays I think it's hard to say like pass plays are hard because like you just don't know what read you're going to get running is obviously easy you're just handing it to the guy so yeah like that's it but like I still think the ability to line up in a play and even if the play isn't going to love maybe he draws you know attention or coverage and then someone else gets open I still count that as him being you know even though he didn't touch it the play him being on the field and a and a part of that play allowed for another you know allowed the play to be successful for other reasons potentially yeah exactly usma 87 asks how the back is doing said he just got here the back is better and like I've actually I can't believe you went to practice yesterday I didn't know you did all that before you went on the plane with the women's team no I you should you could have borrowed the scooter to get around uh I said when I met actually basically I have to sleep on my stomach because of the POS like I can't sleep on my back when I try to sleep on my back is when it starts pinching and stuff like that sleep on my stomach it is I've done that the last two nights and it's helped it settle um where it's toughest again is like when I try to sit down and do work that's when it starts especially after being up for a while too yeah so I have to get up I've had to get up and and kind of keep moving around a lot let me check my steps here right now I've got over 15,000 steps in today doing some some different stuff you know so it's like I said it's actually good in terms of the fact that it's it's better for me to stay up it's just that sometimes it's hard to like stay on my feet but it's definitely doing a lot better today than it was two days ago let's put it that way I can actually tolerate sitting down right now I just hope that it holds up through the weekend got to hold up for three more days if you've ever had a herniated disc I mean you know what I'm talking about it's just it's not a lot of fun that's what I'm dealing with Andre says as long as we can get our speed players in space I think that's going to help us out with all aspects yep of the offense that's the name of the game 10 four this is what and if we're going to get real real here for a second this is I I forgot to bring this up yesterday with Vince and I's gonna get real real okay this is the Marcus Freeman difference in my opinion players like Jeremiah Love jadarian price Jordan Faison this is what has held back Notre Dame against teams like Alabama Clemson Etc in previous playoff appearances um New Year's six Bowl appearances is guys just these teams have other guys on the field who are just athletic and when they get the ball in space they're going to they're going to start cooking and I didn't feel like Brian Kelly had those sort of recruits and we finally starting to see the infiltration of Marcus Freeman recruits you know trick trickling in onto the field and then you introduce someone like Mike denrock and you have a good scheme around it I just feel like this is the best that this offense has the most potential I felt in an offense in a good amount of time and look I haven't you know watched any 88 8990 those Lou Holtz offenses granted they were obviously run differently but when they had Waters and Rocket Ismael and those guy like they were they were lining up in a lot of different places you know like you know like one go look at Rocket Ismail lining up as a flanker in a three-point stance it's kind of hilarious looking back at it now but you saw them you saw them lining up in a full house backfield you saw them lining up as receivers they they had that kind of skill set and you saw them lining up in different places in order to get them out there on the field together and like that's that's the goal get the best players out there on the field and I think that this does nothing but give them a chance to do more of that so I think it's nothing but a good thing octavus says sleeping on your back isn't good for you and don't like don't they try to tell you that sleeping on your back is better for you than sleeping on your stomach like I've heard that nothing's good for you anymore yeah what is good for you EX right I'm just gonna go down the Larry David route what is good for you Jesse are you ready for Rapid Fire let's do this all right we've got more running back talk coming up here as we open up rapid fire so D McCulla we heard from him already talking a little bit about Jeremiah Love and jorian price and he was asked if price is ready to be a lead back and here's his response well I mean it it under me what's what's the lead back you know so all all the guys continue to play as far as I'm concerned what we did with jadarian last year was 100% on plan it was we did not have to stress him he was coming off of his coming off of an Achilles there was no need in our room to say look we got to get we got to load this guy all I wanted him to do get bring him along the right way put him in position to be successful so for for himself and for us to feel confident in his um long-term development but then not overstressing as Achilles we didn't need all right so there you go is jadarian price ready to be a lead back was the question does price need to be no Notre Dame's lead back not with not no not with the combination that they have right now and they don't have an a estimate and that's okay you don't need that right like if you can accomplish you know Mission with one audri or you know three guys named jadarian um Jeremiah Love and Jabron pain then it's all the same right like I don't and especially in terms of today's game of keeping guys fresh um injury free why put a lot of stress on guys when you can again you know you know kind of divvy out the share a little bit so I think it speaks to their depth right like they don't have to they don't have to say this guy is our lead running back because he is Head and Shoulders better than two and three on the depth chart I think it's a good thing that you have a bunch of guys that are you know relatively close in Talent level because again you don't have to rely on one guy well and he started off like with me what is a lead back because they do have so many different jobs for these guys now it sometimes it feels like there are some situations where they could pair that back but at the same time like just look at two years ago when it was audri EST May and Logan Diggs like who was who was the lead back because it it seemed like more you know Logan Diggs was but audri ese was the one who ended up leading the team in rushing by the time it was all said and done but there were times where you were going okay now why isn't estimate in there or there were times when you're going why isn't Diggs in there more you know what I mean so last year became a much more obvious situation where audri esime was the guy but but he needed to be the guy because I think that that is what the room dictated based on who else was there jadarian price was coming back from that Achilles injury that de McCulla was talking about and I completely agree based on the makeup of this room I don't think there necessarily needs to be uh you know a lead guy this season because I think that that that there are with the skill sets that they have And the fact I just think that we're going to see potentially a lot of all of them again and in the fact that Jeremiah Love is being used as a receiver is just going to sort of complement that it's going to get more guys on the field not just him you know on the field in in in a different position it's going to get more guys on the field I think overall yeah I agree and and it it's not only is it gonna get more guys on the field but it's going to give them a better opportunity for those explosive rate plays those plays that we talking about exactly so we got to talk to uh special teams coordinator SL safties coach Marty baji yesterday as well and he shared some of his thoughts on Marshall transfer Jaden Harrison not only returning kickoffs but contributing to special teams across the board as well the same thing kind of you know that we explained to him with with Devon Ford you know who now has moved to safety but he had kind of been an off returner or the returner at Penn State at the previous school and then all of a sudden we realized what he can do and we wanted to uh you know get him involved in more and more scheme that we could in different uh positions so I think Jaden has been awesome you know he come in and he had even said you know I've never even done the front line or or backline kickoff return drills I've always been the returner and so you know it's a it's a privilege to get to be the punt returner kick returner at Notre name so you're going to go through you know My Philosophy is you're going to make sure those guys see that you're going to learn all the techniques and all the work they're putting in and so uh he's already he comes up to my office a lot you know he's very uh you know there's no ego there and so um I think it's just going to help him you know be able to contribute more than just a returner you know label so you've got a wide receiver body in Jaden Harrison versus Devin Ford a running back body you know that that Marty Biagi was talking about there who did it last year so do you do you buy or sell the idea of your primary kickoff return man being on multiple special teams units as well I buy it because he's not going to be utilized as a premier player in the offense or defense anywhere so again how can we get a guy that is Uber talented and and it sounds like too uber hungry the guy just wants to be on the field as much as possible hey coach you know I know I'm returning kicks but you know how else can I be utilized I feel like I'm a great player elsewhere you know I'd love to be you know on this special team this special team Etc so to me that's something you have to love and again it to me it feels like you know we feel like this guy is very good at this specific thing how can we get him more opportunities to be on the field in terms of you know special teams because it's not like he's being pulled for offensive or defensive duties his main responsibility is special team so how do we fill him up as much as possible more special teams yeah exactly and I like I like the the idea that they're for the second year in a row that they're going out and they're they've got a guy who can contribute across the board at special teams okay you know like you said you might not necessarily be at the top of the two deep in terms of playing wide receiver but you can fill a million roles and you can be good at at all of them you know not not a a jack of all trades master of none but you can be good across the board just like Devin Ford you know was was really good across the board and all the Special Teams units he played on last year and you had a guy like Bo Bower who used to do a lot of that obviously you know like those kind of guys can be very valuable for you it's a it's a very good use of a scholarship in the way since they brought in Marty Bon that's a really good point like fully utilizing a scholarship player as well yeah exactly since they brought him in you know they've gone out and they've they've tried to bring in guys who can you know not just be a a starter on offense or defense but can be big-time special teams players across the board you know on all different units over the last couple years so I really like the the the philosophy and the fact that that they're that they're going that route so I like it a lot so Rhino Monta Forte and Andrew cross are battling this spring to be Notre Dame's Long Snapper I don't know if you knew about the Long Snapper battle that was going on during spring camp scaling 1 to 10 how into a spring Long Snapper battle are you um I'll put this at a two out of 10 I it is the least of my concerns I I fully guarantee they will find someone who can put that ball right on the money baby and again it it is in the grand scheme of things it's like the least thought about thing it's just at this point it's automatic it's not a problem until it's a problem right so like I'm cool this is what I like about John kristofic this guy is always mowing moan Against the Grain man he's like 19 like John would be if they could put Long Snapper cam out there apparently Jon would be all over the Long Snapper competition uh Monta forde by the way stands a robust 5 foot7 if you Google Rhino Mona for and look him up a a 5 foot s potential long but these guys both got out there a little bit last year in some reserve duty they were both out there um cross I think is over six foot tall he's a little bit different he's he's almost like more of a wide receiver build out there doing you know some uh long snapping didn't you one of your college teammates was not a very big guy that was your College Long Snapper right yeah he was um when I first got there um it's funny one of my one of the guys that became the longest like as a freshman the whole goal was how do we make the travel team you know like how it's everyone dresses for home games how can you make the travel team and so there was a linebacker with me and he was kind of an undersized linebacker he was he was like a you know like a will linebacker kind of in our defense but he taught himself how to long snap because he wanted to make the travel roster and we were having issues with our Long Snapper and he was like you know I I did it in high school a little bit and he started practicing practicing and he made the travel team and he he was he he got more opportunities because he was a Long Snapper right and yeah they were basically like if you have to be on the bus for long snapping we're gonna we're going to put you on the depth chart at linebacker we're GNA put you on the depth chart at special teams and so he got more opportunities because he you know he figured out how to long snap hey I long snapped in high school I should have like back then it was like you know they were trying to you know like like spin the ball you know like yeah spin the ball I wish we would have had like guys who could actually help us because like coaches knew nothing Co like High School coaches especially 35 36 however however many years ago they knew nothing about how to help out a special teams guy we had a guy from we had like a you know a uh exchange student from Norway who was the kicker and like everyone was in awe because he could actually kick soccer style whereas you know the other guy we had was like this traditional you know straight on Rick Dempsey type kicker you know he had everything but the flat foot you know and that kind of thing so nobody knew anything about special teams back then Andre is in love with your Cubs gear chess it's a it's a reminder that this show needs to end no later than 7:30 because I will be watching first pitch Andre also wants to know if you're worried about the April transfer portal if we are I mean I think that they're probably going to be some transfers how worried about it I'm not overly worried right now I mean somebody's going to transfer the question is going to be who I mean I don't think I don't think we can spend too much time worrying about that because the other side of it is Notre Dame can always go out and into the transfer portal and bring some other guys in after you know April and bring them in this summer as well so not I'm not I'm not overly concerned about it if I went scale of 1 to 10 probably just go a two how about you um yeah I'll go with a you know what I'll be different a three okay DK DK throwing a little jab at you he said talking running backs did you ever look one in the eye or just watch them run by um okay DK first thing I have I all I'll answer this question arrogantly and then I'll answer this question truthfully I had over 300 career tackles baby no one was getting past me okay and second of all the only guys that sucked to tackle there were guy there were running backs who who were like ran with their head up right but then there were these there was a couple specific guys they would just they were just muscle balls and they'd put their head down and just try to spear you in the chest those were the guys that I did not enjoy you basically had a concussion at end of every game that guy from Riley when I you were a sophomore he was was his name Hart Something Mike Mike Hart yep he was a muscle ball I remember him I found something for DK though um I'm gonna put it here in the chat you can uh when you get bored sometime just uh take a look at that video oh boy Jesse's Thro is high school hle l in the chat baby where where is this show gone we need to reel this back in I don't know what just happened here Jesse Jesse Jesse tried to relive like some some Youth Sports Glory the last time he was in town and his girlfriend uh totally told him he was basically without saying it said he was an idiot so the times have passed yes okay fill in the blank it's blank that Hannah Hado has 157 steals this season while Friday's Notre name opponent Oregon state has 153 steals as a team it's insane and it's insane that it still hasn't gotten her ACC player of the year it hasn't gotten her on National Player of the Year finalist list Etc she's one of the she is the best defensive guard in the entire country and it seems to be going under the radar for some reason and I I think the only reason is that she's a freshman and I I just I really don't understand the lack of you know giving her her credit in terms of being one of the best all-around players if not one of the best defensive guards in the entire women's game I mean she continues to lead the nation in steals but like the fact that she has 157 as a team Oregon statea has 153 is just just nuts to me and they're you know they're they're a pretty good defensive team obviously their defensive style is other than what hers has I think it's a good M you know it's it's like as I look at this matchup this weekend it's it's good for Notre Dame because Oregon state ranks 329th in the nation in uh turnover margin so I think that that is you know that that bodess really well for Notre Dame and Hannah H doggo but like to your point about the national accolades I mean she is a first team AP All-American which is significant like the fact that she's not up for the national Player of the Year like you I think it's completely bogus and I I also like get astounded that you know like I keep hearing you know some of these National people talking about you know some of the upand cominging stars of the game and I always hear like ju guu Watkins come up but like they're not bringing up Hanah head dog go readily which is just amazing to me considering she is a first team All-American and everything else that she has done so far and the fact that everyone you know everyone new who sees her play Raves about her play but I think all that kind of gets taken care of as you make make the Deep Run into the tournament I think Juju Watkins has gotten a little bit more hype because there is a difference between playing in in a market like Los Angeles and being you know ranked where they are in the nation versus you know playing in the Midwest for Notre Dame even though Notre Dame is a you know obviously a national school I think that there's I think there's a difference I think that that has helped Juju Watkins and obviously the fact that people keep talking about Paige Beckers not buers sorry or buckers sorry Jesse and Vince Paige Beckers playing for Yukon helps as well you're going to get a lot of extra hype there I think this is a good question which was more criminal audri not being a a semi-finalist for the do or Hannah hadalo not being a finalist for National player of the year I think it's more criminal that audri was not because he had been around for an extra year like he had already established a body of work in his first year as a starter as a sophomore and establish himself as a legitimate running back and then doing what he did last year like I I think I think it's I yeah I think it's completely criminal that that audric wasn't a a a even a semifinalist for the do Walker dude had like over thousand yards and the mo like just touchdowns Galore but hey what do we know right I was looking at my watch it it because a notification was going off I know Salty's not here but salty was kind of giving me a hard time for looking at my watch before for anyone who has an Apple Watch you know like when you get like an alert goes off on your watch you tend to look at it right away if you fill your watch vibrate so you're just you know that guy always on demand the people are texting I don't know about demand yeah all right so there's been some chatter this week about the women's tournament moving to neutral sites uh for the first and second round games of the NCAA tournament rather than been hosting like they have done forever do you buy or sell the idea of the women's tournament going to neutral sites complete cell complete sell the women need and again I I'm not trying to you know give a comparison to the men's game but the women need neutral sites to start you know it it's what draws fans in uh or sorry they need the the the the team the one through four seats the ability to host because that's what's going to get you know butts and seats in those first round games on a random day you know Thursday or whatever at 2 o'clock it's just let's let's let this Caitlyn Clark effect wear off before we start making rash decisions because the women's game is on an apex right now you don't need to start making rash decisions about a generational player that is going to be exiting you know college basketball here soon and I know there's ju guu Watkins and there's the Hannah H doos and Etc but again I don't want to make a rash decision on a sport that I really think has you know not been struggling in the past but it's you don't see nearly as many sellout games in the first round of women's games than you do men's games and that's just the the point of it let's look at Monday afternoon as an example because Notre Dame hosted Old Miss Monday afternoon in a in a 2:30 or was it I guess it was a two o'clock game Saturday was the 2:15 220 game Saturday was a sellout awesome environment you know awesome crowd Monday still awesome crowd still awesome environment but there were like 2,000 fewer people in the seats because it was a Monday afternoon right game and now if you're you know if you're playing that at a neutral site say you're playing that in Indianapolis for example I I don't know that you're you you're probably going to be at least 2,000 fans lighter than than what you had at purcel Pavilion the women's game is just not in a place yet where you can do that they're they're in a place though you have seen steady growth like everyone you know Raves about Caitlyn Clark I would still argue that a lot of the growth of the women's game you know like Skyler Diggins was a huge impact that's been what 10 12 years ago at this point since I guess gosh even more than that since she showed up it's been like 15 16 since she showed up 10 12 since she finished but my point was arque agumba W hitting those shots like remember AR k agba w went from hitting back-to-back shots gamewinners you know in the you know those buzzer beaters in the final four she was on Dancing With the Stars like what women's college basketball player has been on a national show like that you know and like that to me that's kind of really been a kind of the point of growth for the women's game like it has really exploded now obviously Caitlyn Clark has taking it to another level but I just don't think that there is enough overall support for it that they can afford yet to go to the neutral sites you need more stars like you need you know like these young players like hogo and Watkins and all these others and that what's good for the women's game is the fact that you have these players for four years unlike the men's game where you know you you've still got one and done and all that that kind of stuff but I don't think the women's game is in a place yet where they can afford to do that is more compelling argument to me let the men move away from neutral games and allow them to host the first two rounds I think there should be listen in in in the men's game where there is a much more parity and much more upsets between seeds you know four through 12 I would say I think it's fair to say that the teams that earn the right to be a top four seed deserve the comfortability of playing those first two rounds at home to avoid some of these potential upsets and I know that that's what all Marsh Madness is all about but to me and this this gets into one of my I told you I think last week or two weeks ago when Marsh Manis started I have my issues with the 64 format the 60 team format 64 team format because it's essentially throwing the entire regular season away and allowing them to just go at it and and especially with the the the nil and the transfer portal the difference the talent difference between these seeds is so much smaller now that I believe it is Ben official so that some of these teams earn the right to homec court advantage I don't know about that like I'd like to see what the crowd sizes are I know that but like it's just such a game of chance once you get to the 64 on the men's side it's the men are playing in bigger Arenas though and that's what I know not you know they don't always sell out these first and second round games but at the same time you're bringing in a lot of different teams you know so the crowds are sort of shuffling in and out you know that kind of thing it just it feels like they wouldn't do it because of the fact that they have an opportunity basically to sell more tickets by playing in these neutral sit bigger Arenas yeah well and then you do the day pass thing right it's you're not there specifically for one team you're in for the entire day you're seeing you know games one through four that are going to be run at that region in that Arena and so like again that's the money that's what it's about and that's why the women have host games because it gets them more money more seats uh the men they can sell out Arenas so they're not going to have the neutral sites Tyler Robinson's the guy who's just load of fun at parties he says uh basketball is boring it was ruined when they said players can't run into the stands to fight with fans man uh Tyler's over there doing keg stands and you know like waiting for the neighbor to to show up and and ask for a you know an extra red Solo cup and he's like what what are you talking about Solo Cup you Chuck get out of here hockey's the worst of the worst all right and I'm gonna start some fights that's right Joe said how about change the days so they are not playing on a Monday it's easier to take Thursday and Friday off instead of I mean I I agree with that as well and the women's I don't know what precipitates these changes but every few years they Slide the days back and forth you know like when they're playing because I we had played they had played the same format you know Thursday Thursday Saturday Friday Sunday as the men the last couple years and now we're back to they pushed it back so they start on Friday and they're playing on Mondays Mondays doesn't do anyone any good I think if I had to guess it's Pro you know it's it's a TV thing you know because they figure oh you get the extra day on Monday I think they'll probably gauge you know what the uh what the TV audiences look like but I mean if everything works out this weekend they're going to have Iowa and LSU playing in a standalone game Monday night at seven o'clock in the Elite 8 for a you know the winner going to the final four so I think that ESPN probably likes those Hots you know like you because because what what what dictates all decisions in whatever order you want to put it money and TV and they're essentially tied together that's that's where all the decisions are made they're doing the dance together yep so at least one men sweet 16 game is going to tip off after 10 o'clock tonight and tomorrow night as well longtime sports radio host and First Take contributor Chris madg Russo is ticked off about March Madness games starting after 10 o'clock are you with him or against him I'm 100% with him and and here's here's where I will kind of give leniency right I don't mind if it's a West Coast and you got a Full Slate one game after the next boom boom boom boom but when you're doing this crap where you're only putting one game in the noon slot one game in the three o'clock slot one game in the six o'clock slot and then all a sudden it's like five games after 800 PM like what are we doing that's yeah that's the crazy part to me I don't care if you have maybe one game that starts that late but when you got like three four games all starting between 8 and 10 p.m. it's like why are we not spacing this out a little bit better and I realized there are more games in the opening weekend and you are starting games at noon and there are few you know there are only four games today four games tomorrow for the sweet 16 but if you can start games at noon last week why can't you start games at five o'clock this weekend so that you so that you're not tipping off after 10 because here's what's going to happen as of right now only one game is scheduled to to tip off after 10:00 but the other game is scheduled to tip off at 940 how many times does that 940 game actually tip off on time so that game is more likely to tip off to start that's exactly right that that game is the N9 what's scheduled for 940 is probably going to tip off closer to 10 and the 10 o'clock game is probably going to tip off closer to 10:30 it's nuts I mean you're all in a situation where basketball granted its March Madness and everything else so you've got a better chance of getting eyeballs but basketball is still you know the the the second tier sport in comparison to football in terms of what people want to watch so why are you tipping off after 10 o'clock when you know I realize okay you know West Coast all that get more eyeballs but I mean the numbers have shown like fewer people on the west coast actually pay attention and the people on the East Coast are trying to stay up all night if they want to watch it I don't know so I'm completely I guess we all just need to move to California or Arizona is what I guess so is there a men's sweet 16 game you're most interested in either today or tomorrow um today I would say Illinois and Iowa State I think Yukon and North Carolina are going to handle their business um in terms of tomorrow I am really interested in that North Carolina uh State and Marquette game I want to see I think Inc state has obviously you know gone way further than expected a lot of people thought hey ACC Championship great are you still pushing your chips in on the wolf pack right now ah this is where I'm kind of this is where my foot's in the ground a little bit but I think tomorrow's games are actually really great compared to today's I think North Carolina State marquette's a good game I think Gonzaga and is a great game I think Duke and Houston is going to be a great game and then I'm curious to see can kraton do it right can they can they go on to the elite eight again so I like tomorrow's slate way better but I'm most interested in that North Carolina State game Yukon San Diego State tonight rematch of last year's National Championship Game you know that that that classic rivalry San Diego State's gonna get stomped worse than they did last year it's I don't think San Diego State is nearly as good as they were last season I think defensively but they're not going to be able to keep up offensively with UK yeah I mean everyone's been all in on Yukon this year and I I was I just I wasn't really buying it going into the tournament but after watching watch them play I know man but you know like I also watched them go to Allen Fieldhouse and get their butts kicked by Kansas back in December I realized you know things a lot of things can change over the span of three months but that was still kind of the impression that I had of Yukon I guess but I'm just I've told you this before I put up $25 bet on who I thought would be the each region winner so the final four teams all of my final four teams are still in it so I just that's what I'm rooting for is my final four teams to make it to through this [Music] weekend uh tomorrow though Purdue and Gonzaga is the one that interests me because I think I think I think Purdue takes care of business there they are probably going to the going to the final four and I had them as my my first number one seed out so definitely Qing on on that they have they' played better than I thought so far Tyler wants to know who you've gotten your Frozen for um I'm hoping Notre Dame well they're done so that's not gonna happen is Michigan still in it they're always a good betting favorite as well isn't there a Minnesota team that's always really good too um I can't think of who it is let's you know what I'm gonna look it up right now Frozen 4 I want to see who who is all still left 19 minutes AG go um Denver's always a good bet yeah give me uh Minnesota that's that was my original pick Minnesota I'm gonna end it there all right good enough that fulfills our uh hockey obligation for the year thank you for coming that fill in the blank baseball's opening day taking place on the same day as the start of the sweet 16 is blank is pure awesomeness first thing I did this morning is I texted woke up and I texted one of my good buddies and I said hey happy opening day and happy Sweet 16 we're gonna have a good day today and I have work off tomorrow three-day weekend holiday weekend this is my last obligation before all of the fun starts and then the sweet 16 just tipped off the Cubs are about to throw first pitch it is greatness but it makes no sense to me it makes no sense to me why didn't baseball just start yesterday no instead of today give me all of it in the same day and they're playing all these late afternoon games they that's why they're doing want to collect games that's why they're doing it they're putting all these games before the sweet 16 they think they think more people are going to watch as a result I'm I'm sorry I think it's another baseball marketing blunder to me I think they should have started yesterday played all day I see your point but I'm gonna I'm not gonna let you Rain on My Parade John makes a better point because it's you know it's still march and John said baseball should start in April I don't disagree with that either I mean it's still been like in the 30s here this week it's chilly here in Albany as well not quite 30s I think it was like 40s all day long I think we're supposed to get a little bit more Sunshine weather.com um where's DK when you need him I'm sure he knows the weather over an R neck of the woods it is a solid let's see here Cleveland Ohio 44 degrees it actually felt better today though um Sunshine was out so like it was like a not did baseball used to start on Monday like I always thought it did for some reason I don't know maybe it's just the weirdness of the calendar because like Easter is a little bit earlier this year for for that matter so have a good Friday have a good Easter we might be here on Saturday we're still kicking this whole thing around Vince is semi committed to being here on Saturday if the Notre Dame women win tomorrow what say you Jesse will you commit to a Saturday show um are you gonna are you gonna commit to a weekend of heathness the the the chances are slim I will be visiting other people's families for Easter oh that's right you have like you have girlfriend family visitations to do because because of Easter that is correct all right Vince doesn't have to worry about traveling I am already traveling so um quick show of hands there's there's over 100 people watching live right now quick show of hands who who would show up maybe around noon or 11:00 am Saturday if we did a live show that's what I want to know not seeing a lot of votes right now so I say you either say oh there's one DK said thumbs up I will you got another one yes John said yes all right we've got I'm sure if you got if you posted it and you told Brian to post it I think you get enough traffic Joe especially especially if the women win and you can give a little preview into what we would expect to be you know a South Carolina rematch to go to the final four that's true get some live Insight from the man himself all right David David giving the Thumbs Up DJ said he doubts it Tyler is in there so all right we're kicking it around I think maybe I need to put a poll up on the Champions lounge do like a full-fledged there you go vote see how it goes because we haven't you know we've like I said we've toyed with the idea we don't have an exact time or anything Tyler Robinson is thumbs uping right now Jason is in so all right well we're considering it we'll let you know on the Champions lounge if it's going to happen and we'll tweet something out probably as well Jesse enjoy the Cubs tonight hopefully they come through for you hopefully it works out and um thank you we don't talk to you Saturday we will talk to you Monday after a weekend of basketball and baseball and everything else enjoy it hit the like button and of course listen on your podcast platforms we do always appreciate it have a great weekend talk to you later ition Sports Talk
