fun well that was ner there was so much drama it was back and forth you don't live for the drama of these finishes what do you have a pulse let me check this thing what is this it's not there no it's not there it's gone are you kidding me I know to tell you folks when I saw this play I was like oh my goodness and then Harbaugh's like we're going for two oh oh what like man we would have got one more play one more play this is what I ask people what more do you want out of the Baltimore Ravens they they did everything that you were supposed to do they found a way to fight themselves back on the road in the first game of the year guys are making plays Lamar's doing everything likely in particular guy who is the Raven leading receiver on the night yeah there it is on the NFL Social account there on the X account out by an inch indeed so but I mean like let's remember this he has a couple of big catches first one in fact to start the drive right which was an 11pl Drive almost 80 yards to get them down within Striking Distance uh and then he goes out with what looks to be a fairly significant injury based on the pain he was in here's that first catch he had a few more on the drive yeah so look the final drive they do a great job derck Henry's not in this situation they wanted to go with uh justice Hill but Lamar did everything he needed to do utilize his legs scramble get out of bounds they were working that huh say it again leading rusher on the night no question um using that right Sidelines look they they attack the right Sidelines every time Isaiah likely came on strong last year and we were just talking about it off air about Mark Andrews once they get him going in the floow of the game Baltimore is going to be tough but what a catch he by Rashad bitman not a lot of targets no not a lot of opportunities name numbers called makes a play and how about Lamar Jackson was 0 for four on deep passes until that final drive in that completion of baitman when they finally connected he was really good on this drive and this is the play we thought all right man a tough way to in the night for Isa likely and back he comes in the biggest of spots just an inch that's two plays they had two chances there to score they didn't connect here again you have Justus heel blocking Chris Jones what a what a job there to give Lamar some time and that was a great throw that was a good throw I mean there's certainly some throws Lamar would like back here but for the most part he executed at a very high level uh on that drive and there it is I mean the toe on the white it's almost as if the cleat was still that that front cleat was still on the green but the toe extends over that foot front CLE and so that was out of [Music] bounds look at the face it just tells it all a toe says yes yeah but but what I will say this you saw the the Crim Dela Crim of the AFC tonight yeah I mean you saw how explosive the Chiefs could be you saw how dominant the Ravens can be once they got back to their running game and the play action pass and guys were starting to come open they again they're still trying to figure out what they want to do they have offensive line issues they're trying to figure out how they want to utilize Derrick Henry and still use Lamar I think down the stretch they're going to be very tough to deal with but this is what you're going to see in the AFC you got to find a way to to to Really yeah how are you going to stop the Chiefs when they get uh Hollywood Brown back right I mean right there was so much space in this offense with just Xavier worthy out there who had three touches two touchdowns three touches two touchdowns like that that's that's why you I mean we talk about the speed I mean it played yeah it played for Xavier worthy then you start talking about adding that in with Maris Hollywood Brown look Rashid rice was fantastic in this particularly first half he was all over the place in this game at seven catches over 100 yards were the we put that in the scrimmage yards column because he obvious had the rushing touchdown was his first touch then had a couple thing about it Travis Kel didn't really get really much yeah right and so there's going to games where he's going to get a ton of catches as well as they get going again I think this offense is kind of what we thought about when they drafted and they they they picked up Hollywood Brown and free agency you're going to have a ton of room and space look at this I mean put your foot in the ground up the numbers and the speed blur and then here again another Crossing route we know the Chiefs love that speed deadly on those Crossing they they're just finding ways to get guys going Pastor Mahomes look at their little Peak oh you you don't want to cover him speed wide open now that was that's a coverage breakdown on somebody's part right I mean look it's great he got into the end zone but Marlon Humphrey was expecting a little bit of help there push him to the sideline and look at the cheetah boy rolling yeah you going to race him maybe uh but Worthy's night was fantastic I I thought it was interesting you know we talking about Travis Kelce not having a you know huge impact at least in the in the stat sheet we'll go back and and watch you know where where he made some other plays that didn't show up on the Statue but three catches 34 yards Noah gray who had just signed the the contract extension right before we the game happened same three catches 37 yards there I think what it's telling us here is there's more that they can rely on this year which was the huge talking point going into this well that was the emphasis of the Chiefs is to get better offensively right um last year they had they kind of went and got some guys receivers and thought it would work out but then they they made an effort to go out and get faster to go out and get more explosiv to go out and get guys that fit what they want to do and now you're going to see this offense with Patrick Mahomes continue to Blossom this is only week one I don't think we've ever seen a Chiefs team look a certain way week one and then at the end of the year look the same way they find a way to grow and that's what scary you don't know what the potential of this offense can be right I mean it really can be anything at this point and guess what they're still able to run the football efficiently and effectively like they wanted to yeah Pacho 45 yards on 15 carries but then you throw in the possibility of Xavier worthy getting it on a on an end round a reverse or uh you know a sweep of some sort and man that's dangerous right that's another thing you gotta add to the defensive playbook and and all that coming up uh for the Chiefs as they continue this season as we continue on NFL game day final the Mercedes-Benz postgame we're going to get it out to John John Harbaugh uh talking following this close loss okay I appreciate you guys being out here U good hardfought football game uh very exciting football game a lot of a lot of lot of back and forth uh I'm proud of the way our guys played you know I I think the way we fought the way we competed uh the the challenges that we face just by the situation the game and all the things going on around the game and obviously the challenge that uh our opponent present which is a great opponent and uh and then the the adversity throughout the course of the game is a challenge I thought our guys uh you know met met all those things all those setbacks at times and uh and uh and fought like crazy to overcome it you know and looked like we had an opportunity there to to to tie the game up or try to win it with a two-point conversion so uh it didn't happen at the end but uh prob of the way the guys fought we're only going to get better from here on out and I'm looking forward to that I'm really looking forward to getting back to work next week and getting ready for the Raiders John just starting with obviously Isaiah just was huge for you guys all the night and you batt back to get on the field that last possession what did you see out of him what you tell him after coming so close oh I think Isaiah played just a great football game a courageous game I made so many plays especially down the stretch play after play I put Lamar obviously in the same category all those guys I mean those guys were making plays and fighting the offensive line I thought did a heck of a job out there a lot of question marks that you know the pundits and the prognosticators had about the offensive line saying that with that offensive line we couldn't do anything and uh to see the way they went out there and played against that defense I thought was pretty impressive and that's a challenge especially in this environment communication and there's going there were there were problems on both sides uh but uh I thought Isaiah played a great football game I was proud of him and a lot of other guys too what are kind of emotions though at the end of the game when you feel like okay you've tied the game and then you're told I don't really thought I'm we going to talk about emotions you know you're disappointed you you thought I mean I don't know what it looked like on the replay so I can't say but uh really couldn't tell on the big screen you guys probably had a better Viewpoint of it so what yeah they put a thing out that they said they were going to call that uh differently I think understanding how differently we were the first offensive series of the season with that and I think they saw probably everybody watching it it'll be interesting to see if they call it the same way the whole season and I'll challenge them to call the same way they called it tonight the whole season so hopefully they'll be consistent about that lar has called Kansas City his CP tonight feel about his late drive and just G you confidence moving forward if you play them again I thought his late Drive was great and I thought he had some other good drives in there and some great conversions in there so uh uh we'll be looking forward to the Raiders you know we've got to get ready for the for the Raiders and that'll be a big challenge for us in our in our own home stadium a home opener so that's what we'll be getting ready for how much was communication [Music] okay so now add one more W to Patrick mahomes's column in this clash of the MVPs five wins now for the momes Le Chiefs against the Lamar Le Ravens in this head-to-head battle uh I mean look M we mentioned this a number of times in our pregame show on Game Day kickoff Mahomes has been at his best when his best has been required in these situations and he was again tonight um I mean just typical I mean look 20 to 28 291 yard had the early interception right but I mean everything you wanted from the best player in football you continue to see especially in moments like these well well to me it was a situational awareness that he had right a certain situations he found a way to get the job done he knew exactly where to go with the ball Rasheed rice was working roquan Smith and whoever else was on the middle this play here just a nice easy check down get the ball out of your hands and let your Playmakers make plays look how quick he's trying to get the ball out of his hands he understands hey they're playing a certain type of coverage and we need to make plays Chris C talked about the robber coverage there again now I'm going to sit back and hold by time cuz this is a third and what this was like a third and 12 in order to get it he understood how to play every situation here Step Up find your guy I mean he just made these are third Downs that we're watching right now where he's find getting the ball to the open guy right now and finding a way to get there getting through his reads again sees a sees the safety not getting over the top that little Peak yeah the little Peak to see make just to make sure you're where you're supposed to be those are those are the things that that really make him the best of the best right it's that he can extend plays and improvise when he needs to but also that he can
