many college football teams through with non-conference some teams wrapping up non-conference play this week and other teams in the SEC putting it on the back burner until welcoming a lower Echelon FCS team in what November but we've got your week four picks ready right here from the Hawkeye of the storm including Iowa and Rutgers in just a little bit but first we start in the Big Ten with a matchup between two undefeated teams in Maryland and Michigan we know the story lines here once again Maryland off to the hot start they finished the year strong in a bowl game last year Ebbs and flows we talked during our game preview for Iowa Rutgers yesterday we talked about how Talia tagavailoa struggled against Iowa at this point in the season this is kind of a repeat of last year with a chance to really make a national statement this year it's going to be even a tougher task because they're on the road at Michigan Michigan favored by 16 and a half I actually like Michigan to win and do cover that number at home Duke in Kansas two basketball Blue Bloods both of which are undefeated and 11AM game Kansas favored by seven and a half I like Kansas to win they've put up a lot of points again including against the likes of Houston and West Virginia I think Kansas wins this game but Duke covers they've shown the ability to play defense winning at Northwestern Duke covers the seven and a half but Kansas wins straight up Baylor and Iowa State the Cyclones favored by two and a half a bit disrespectful to Baylor I don't know what Iowa state has done that's been very impressive besides just squeaking by in Iowa City I like Baylor to win this game I like Baylor 2 cover don't underestimate the uh fans there at Jack Trice Stadium though because uh being here names the Iowa State fans are excited right now about the season and part of it's I think getting off the schneid of the cyhawks series and their shortcomings there but I do believe Baylor comes into town wins and covers the number Clemson and Wake Forest the Tigers favored by seven and a half I don't have any uh confidence in Wake Forest even at home this feels very similar to that Iowa Maryland game last year in the Big Ten it seems like a little bit too much hype around what wake has done they haven't really beat anybody they struggled against Liberty last week I like Clemson to win and to cover the number Minnesota Michigan State Minnesota favor by three in East Lansing a bit of an overreaction I believe to what was just a weird game out at Washington for the Spartans last week I like MSU to win this game at home Minnesota's look good but again have they played anybody with a pulse not really I like the Spartans to win this game Kansas State and OU Kansas State this is a weird line to me oau scores a ton of points Kansas state has not looked particularly good they lose to Tulane last week and yet OU's favored at home by just 12 and a half I feel like this line stinks smells bad smells really bad in the words of Elaine Bennis but I will take OU nonetheless I'll take them straight up I'll take him against the spread Notre Dame and North Carolina the Tar Heels favored by just one and a half at home Notre Dame's looked very subpar just squeaking by California last week they lost to Marshall week prior I think UNC wins this game and they'll cover the one and a half at home Florida and Tennessee Florida's been kind of up and down they you know they lose to Kentucky but they had opened the season with a big upset over Utah I like Tennessee to win this game straight up Tennessee favored by 10 and a half I think Florida will keep it close enough I think it'll be a single digit Victory Florida covers the number Oregon and Washington State the Ducks favored by six and a half at outson stadium in Eugene I like Oregon to win this game by at least a touchdown they cover the number and win this game Arkansas and Texas A M Texas A M um after the kind of weird start to their season losing to Appalachian State they come back beat Miami I like Texas A M to win this game Arkansas struggled mightily last week against Missouri State I like a m to win this game and to cover the two and a half Wisconsin and Ohio State I think this is over reaction to Wisconsin's bad performance against Wazoo I like Wisconsin to cover the number I don't think they go into the Horseshoe and win I think Ohio State wins but boy to think that they're gonna be able to put up enough points to win by 20 or more right now the spread is at 18 and a half I just don't see how uh Wisconsin's defense allows that although you know maybe I'll eat those words given Ohio State's skill position talent I do like Wisconsin to cover Ohio State to win the game and USC Oregon State these two teams with a common opponent much different Tales of those two games USC dominating Fresno State and Oregon State struggling against the Bulldogs I like USC to win this game they'll win it by at least two scores they cover the number easily up in Corvallis and finally it's the Hawkeyes and the Rutgers Scarlet Knights this game was what started around a 35 for the over under now that number has moved below 34. this is going to be potentially historically low uh total right now Iowa favored on the road by seven and a half I think that number's a bit too large once again I'll take Iowa's opponent Rutgers against that number I do think Iowa wins this game final score Iowa 14 Rutgers 10. I think it's a close game heading into the fourth quarter Rutgers will have a chance late but I just don't see how they're really going to score points and I'm even struggling to come up with 10 points for the Scarlet Knights but Iowa holding Nevada down to zero last week at some point you're going to give up some points and I do think Iowa produces a special teams or defensive score Terry Roberts had one that was called back at pick six Terry Roberts had another interception that might have come back for six had he stayed on his feet against Iowa State and Cooper to Jean had a pick six early in the game last week that he drop they've been very close they blocked some punts they've had safeties they'll produce more defensive and special team scores which I said yesterday is the key to victory in this game of Razer thin margins again this game Iowa and Rutgers will begin at 6 PM 6 10 p.m Central Time on FS1 so join me on Saturday for Iowa post game with from the Hawkeye of the storm and then we'll be live with Coach Don Patterson Sunday night at 7 as we recap a big game in Piscataway between the Hawks and the Knights
