I listen to every Toby Keith album and I do mean every and I have figured out which are the best hang best I've known him were kids ATO I know it's a tough job Toby put out 19 official albums six greatest hits albums and my mom's favorite his Christmas album married little Christmas and yeah let's face it it sucks knowing that we won't get any more songs from this legendary country singer himself but I put in the work for you my dear listener I mean who am I kidding I would have done it anyway this was great fun some of these records have already been in my general rotation but others not so much and boy was this fun to hear everything Toby Keith has so without further Ado let's find out the top 10 best Toby Keith albums in order let's go what happened number 10 dream Walkin 1998 Toby Keith's albums are kind of like pizza even when they're just okay they're still pretty damn good and this is especially true for Toby's fourth album Dream walking the biggest hit here is the title song Dream walking just general easygo 9s Country Fair it's really [Music] great but there are some other solid songs on this album too my favorite is I'm so happy I can't stop crying maybe I could come [Music] B yeah no surprise sting was featured on the song and I also love sting but it's a fantastic tune that blends humor with Keith's brilliant storytelling that we all grew to love another one kind of in that vein is double wide Paradise it's just solid I mean sure there were bigger and better things to come but if I was stuck with just this album on a deserted island I'd be fine for a few years and then I'd probably have to retire to dream walking number nine pull my chain 2001 did your family ever have that quote unquote fun ant the one who drank way too much Boon's Farm Strawberry Wine and told dirty jokes she doesn't take life too seriously and always goes for those walks where she comes back smelling a bit funny yeah pull my chain is kind of the fun ant of Toby's [Music] career because the big one here of course is I want to talk about me the silly kind of talk rap song about a motor mouth girlfriend who doesn't let Toby get a word in and this song is only something Toby could pull off although I'm not sure he pulled off that gold too but hey people love the track the song Hit number one on the billboard hot country songs chart and what I really love about this song is the music video give it a watch it's just a blast I want to talk about me I want to talk about me want to talk about it makes you miss the old days of fun music videos being produced with all the hit tracks and then there's I'm just talking about tonight an Ode to keeping things casual definitely a big hit for him in the early 2000s and it was one of his early party anthems I'm talking hang out I'm P my chain was released in August 2001 and it's a time capsule to another world so if today's depressing world ever gets you down this album is a nice reminder it's really not that serious Number Eight Blue Moon 1996 Blue Moon might be Toby's most mellow album it's made more for driving around at night than pounding red Solo cups but we'll get there but it fills a valuable space in Toby's work because it shows how well he can pull out those heartstrings when he wants to the song does that blue moon ever shine is a classic Toby ballad do that [Music] BL a woman's touch is a great slow burner with some Spanish flare Kermit showed us that It's Not Easy Being Green what's so amazing that keeps a stargazing but here Toby teaches us that it's not easy being blue either number seven Clancy's Tavern 2011 2011 was kind of a weird time in country music everything was getting bigger the hooks the stadiums heck even the singers it was all getting so serious so how did Toby respond to the inflation of country music well by making his least serious album of his career and one of the best lany's Tavern might be Toby's funniest album sure there's the famously laugh out loud Red Solo Cup which I don't know if any of you got to see him at a live show but man that song was a blast proed but it wasn't the only quality song that was also pretty funny there's also Beers Ago a tune kind of based on a dad joke but it's also reflective and a great song and we spend what a little bit of money we had on WI of course don't think Toby's letting up on the patriotism here the opening song made in America makes that pretty clear but the album's dedication to partying and downright fun makes the message very clear we defend our freedoms abroad so we can party hard back home hell yeah number six Honky Tonk University 2005 the year was 2005 it had been over for a decade since Toby's first album his last two were massive but nothing lasts forever so how did Toby deal with the fear of losing his Mojo by attacking those fears head on of course yeah I'm talking about that incredible hit song as good as I once was iin as good as I but I'm as good as I a top five Toby Keith song in my book the song is about an older guy of course but it's hard not to see Toby dealing with those same fears and then proving those wrong with this very song then you of course have the title track where Toby reminisces about his grandma's nightclub where he learned the ins and outs of country music but my second favorite track on this album is she ain't hooked on me no more an incredible duet with the great Merl Haggard she a on me no proving that Toby Keith can really hang with the alltime greats honestly who else but Toby Keith to give us a crash course in country music number five Boom Town 1994 yeah I think Toby's second studio album is his fifth best because it gives us a glimpse into the world that Toby grew up in a world of Honky Tonks oil fields and oldtime country music the song You Ain't Much Fun is a great one written around a joke You Ain't Much Fun Since I Stopped Drinking [Music] drag the tune wasn't even released as a single but now it's one of the most lasting songs from the record you also got who's that man it's a sad song about a man losing his [Music] family seriously every side of Toby Keith is on show here what else could you want sure Toby would reach higher Heights maybe better songs maybe better albums but there is something really special about 1994's Boom Town in a number four shocking y'all 2003 in 2003 Toby Keith was huge he was the voice of country music in a country that loved country music but instead of sitting back and Counting his money Toby hit us with a scorcher sure the fun songs got even more fun like I Love This Bar seriously a top five party song for Toby [Music] this but this album is number four because of the Patriotic ODS like American Soldier Freedom don't come free I'm an American of course 2003 was fresh off the attacks in New York the country tense and it needed fire and that's what the song was it was motivation it was patriotic power then you have some other great songs like Whiskey Girl around it all out what can I even say about this album that it doesn't say itself just go listen to it now whis number three Toby Keith 1993 when you first look at the cover for Toby's debut album Toby Keith you might barely recognize the guy who's that skinny fell with a Dapper outfit is that a perm and it's true the Toby from back then is very different from the one he evolve in the production is is cleaner and a bit cornier and many of the songs lack the raw power that he would develop but there is something special about old Toby too his debut single just look at that should have been a cowboy I should have been a [Music] cboy yeah it's incredible it hit number one on the country charts and it was the biggest sign that this guy was something special then he first shows off his sense of humor with the song close but no guitar and now I'm sitting home just counting the stars I got close but no guitar then there's a little less talk and a lot more action a throwback rock and roll tune straight from Elvis's day yes this album might be the puppy compared to the pitbull that we later see but hey who doesn't love puppies number two Unleashed 2002 in 2001 everything changed the military American life and Toby Keith the attack in New York inspired him to write write the song Courtesy of the Red White and Blue considered by many to be his signature [Music] track sure the song's great but why it's so important is because he was saying what we were all thinking Toby Keith tried to help bring a struggling Nation together and boy I'd say he did it that side of Toby had always been there but here it is at its most ferocious the biggest the baddest and most American Toby but the album isn't just that song of course Toby tackles just about everything here the almost ridiculous beer for your horses is about my two favorite things Justice and drinking could it be any more country we upes evil then you got who's your daddy about the most American love song I can possibly imagine the album isn't the most subtle in fact it almost hit you over the head he lay your pretty little head down but when what's hitting you over the head is some of the most bombastic country music put to tape yep I'm not one to complain Thank You Toby Keith I will be listening to this album forever number one how Do You Like Me Now 1999 did you know Toby Keith's best album was never supposed to exist Toby gave it to his label Mercury records and they hated it so he recorded two more songs but hell they hated those too but rather than give up on the whole record Toby bought the rights and took it to a new label after the first single When Love Fades kind of flopped it seemed like the suits at Mercury may have had it right but Toby begged his new label to swap the single for another song how Do You Like Me Now and yeah the rest is history how do you like me now how Do You Like Me Now how do you like me now now the song and the album is Toby showing us who Toby was going to become this new Toby Keith had two sides there was the sensitive kuner who could put out tender Tunes like when love Fades and also she only gets that way with me and the love is good you see she only gets that but boy Toby also showed he could bring the energy with songs like how do you like me now and Country Comes To Town goes down that's when countryes town the album might not have the hugeness of later records or the corny charm of the earlier ones but more than anything else the album screams this is Toby Keith whether you like it or not and of course the world liked it hell they loved it because Toby Keith is one of the best songwriters country music has ever seene I know I know I know hold your horses I forgot your favorite album didn't I or I put your your least favorite way too high the truth is it's impossible to please everybody and to be honest Toby doesn't really have a Bad album but I'm super curious to find out how my top 10 Stacks up
