really quick for the I'm sorry Stephen me interrupt you but just quickly um you know Hank and I so Hank is Hammer I'm Alex I'm boss man uh we go by these little aliases but really um you know they're just nicknames that we've had since we were kids and uh we've had you know friends and family call us us for for a long time and so uh at the time when we started biscuits in SEC it wasn't necessarily um the easiest thing to to use our our personal names for just different reasons in terms of business so we went with our little monikers and they've stuck ever since um and we've been doing this for for a couple years now we love talking ball we love talking SEC football we're both Texans uh we went to Texas A&M so we add a little bit of that to to the SEC after dark crew yeah that's right yeah some new blood in in the house a little bit but feel free yeah get all the jokes out we've heard them all we can take it so y That's right listen during the offseason um I I wanted to kind of farm for some views and get some downloads just because you know I get paid off click so every now and then I need to do something that get some clicks and I did a video on why Texas A&M should be kicked out of the SEC for Texas Tech and I think that is still getting 30 views a day you know what's funny is that we actually got that sent to us because it you popped up on MSN or something and people started text is this the guy you do the podcast with he said yeah don't worry we know what he's doing yeah fantastic it was amazing it was like Hey I need I need a little bit of a little jet fuel of views and then boom Oh yeah I know what to do let's do Texas A&M and Texas Tech and let them go that's right Steve you know I've been trying to trying to figure out what's like going on like something's kind of off and I noticed that I see I'm looking at your hair you're yeah well it's the week one of the season I figured I wanted to dress up for everybody I'm wearing my Grove Collective quarter zip and I'm not wearing a hat went formal on us nice yeah for real I'm just wearing a white T-shirt I'm this was the 1800s that this would be like somebody showing up in tails with h with with white bow tie stains on my white T-shirt here all right well in honor of our our two new additions to the show we start off with our first it's our game of the week it's our first important game probably the tightest spread that we have uh not your Dame at Texas A&M this is a very very interesting game uh Texas A&M guys you could you guys have probably been talking about Mike Elco I think that was a one of the better hires that you could have made uh for for A&M I was uh I was kind of bummed that he left Duke because I thought maybe he was gonna stick around and actually be the guy that built Duke but um some other guy named uh Steve something um left Duke and went on to the SEC and did some did some pretty cool things um so maybe Mike ELO can do that for you guys um but Notre Dame is is a team that's they're trying to resurrect I I don't know if they're ever going to be successful in doing so but Marcus Freeman is doing everything he can he's a great coach I just think he's not in the best spot to to to win at Notre Dame but again that's GNA be a hardfought game Kyle Field uh gonna be a rockus environment guys what what are you what are y'all seeing on this game what are y'all you know what's what's the main story lines here Hammer you can go first sure um I'm sure yall have seen this I I think the the main storyline uh going into this is the& MD line vers the Notre Dame offensive line so um we've been following this closely obviously because it's it's the week one game but in case anybody wasn't aware Notre Dame lost their starting left tackle or presumed starting left tackle earlier in Camp for the season uh coming off I believe they lost both their left and right tackle to the draft last year so they're replacing a lot they have a guy go down in Camp um I saw earlier today they're they're combin line starts of the offensive line that they're going to run out on Saturday is six so very inexperienced offensive line in a hostile night game environment week one uh against a really talented defensive line of A&M I think obviously bodess well for the Aggie so you know that's something to keep an eye on right with Notre Dame having uh Mike Den brck now as offensive coordinator and Riley Leonard the former Duke quarterback um former quarterback right now under Center for for Notre Dame you know I would think that their offense uh will improve over time you know this year as opposed to what they were last year but uh it's a tough task week one to take a new quarterback a new coordinator a new system with a brand new offensive line on the road so that's the biggest matchup um you know that that you're going to hear about talked uh leading into the game I think uh on the other side you know there's a reason that the spread is tight and the over under's pretty low because I think Notre Dame similar situation with A&M right we've got a new system brand new coaching staff Wegman basically a new starter I mean he's got a handful under his belt but he hadn't been able to stay healthy so uh and Notre Dame's got a great defense so I think it's gonna be a tight game um and probably a fairly you know defensive battle for most of it I think the over unders somewhere in the 40s right now so uh I don't I wouldn't expect a highs scoring game U but I think it should be very you know Smashmouth defensive battle field position field goals things like that yeah and we don't need a prediction just yet because we'll do picks at the bottom of the hour but um whenever you look at this Notre Dame bringing in um Riley Leonard at quarterback the history that Mike Elco has with Riley Leonard at Duke and also at Notre game he was the defensive coordinator before he came down to A&M there's a lot of history in what this game could be now the question is A&M still has a lot of the talent in that best ever recruiting class that they brought in they lost Like Walter Nolan they lost everan Stewart but they still have wigman they still have um moose muhamad they still have pieces I hate that Ruben Owens went down for A&M but I think this might be a situation where A&M kind of overwhelms Notre Dame I'm not saying Notre Dame is bad I think that A&M just has a chance to win this game in my opinion by two to three touchdowns honestly really wow I I hope so I hope that happens we're bit snake so yeah we'll see I mean the fact that this game is at Kyle Field at night I mean A&M has not had a lot of games at Kyle Field at night in the past couple of years just because of you know the way that the seasons have gone and the way that the TV schedules have worked worked out you know late in the season so Kyle Field at night is different you know I'm not going to say it's Baton Rouge at night but it's pretty darn close it's or you know nean Stadium at night it's it's a difficult place to play what's that it's loud it's really loud it's super loud it's definitely at night it's one of the top uh venues in the SEC without a doubt so I think that's why you're seeing you know uh A&M be favored by three in this game there's a lot of newness though in terms of A&M um you've got a lot of train transfers A&M had the third best transfer class I I believe um last in last season cycle so uh they're breaking in a lot of new faces they had a lot of a lot of kids go out and they got a lot of kids coming in so they brought in a lot of talent but that needs to mesh and it needs to mesh very quickly um I'm I'm really interested in a couple things you guys nailed all the the top story lines um so there's the the running backs is an interesting thing for A&M Levon Moss is going to start he was a fourstar big-time recruit he's done a couple things at A&M you know in the past but has had a split time now he's the feature horse so let's see what happens let's see how he does um the A&M offensive line there is Talent across the board on that line but they have not meshed the last two years on the offensive line uh have left Aggies ripping their hair out so let's see how that offensive line performs um and then the other piece is uh is Riley Leonard um his running ability so obviously this you know the six combined starts like Hank said for that Notre Dame offensive line so I'm expecting Riley Leonard to get on out on the edge and A&M has traditionally really struggled with running quarterbacks so Mike Elko with him there I feel pretty confident that he's gonna be able to contain that especially with uh Riley Leonard and his you know knowledge of Leonard having coached him at Duke so I think that uh Mike Elko is gonna be able to contain him but that's something that ANM needs to watch out for and then finally the last thing I'll say is uh the A&M secondary secondary has had Talent uh for many years but they get gashed and they did last year when they played Miami early in the season and they they had it a couple times last year they had a couple kids leave uh and they had demani Richardson graduate and go to the NFL so there's a lot of new faces from the transfer portal that are there um and it's going to be kind of mixing and matching um and A&M fans are certainly going to be interested to see who ends up starting in that secondary and how they perform Notre Dame at Tech A&M the game is at 7:30 Eastern Time on ABC moving on next it's a little bit earlier in the day Miami is traveling to the Florida Gators Cory Burton and this is the situation LinkedIn Billy G5 Billy a lot to say has a lot to say but this could be a game you know after what we saw in Ireland from Florida State if Florida beats Miami all of a sudden G5 Billy LinkedIn Billy has the best football team in the State of Florida yeah that that happened pretty quick huh yeah this is going to be an interesting this is going to be really important uh matchup for uh for LinkedIn Billy so he he's got to uh he's got to understand that he has a chance to really affect the game with graham Merz he's got to figure out a way honestly to uh to win the line of scrimmage to just play a clean connect football game and what I mean by that is a lot of times when you watch Florida you're trying to figure out what the hell they're doing all the time like they have no identity they have no seems like they have no Rhyme or Reason or it's like they're just kind of throwing stuff together and you know it's like they're just I don't know they're just making it up as they go and and so I I think you have to for their team to be successful I think the mindset has to be all right we got to be hyperfocused we've got a super experienced quarterback he can make these guys right he had the highest completion percentage in the in the league um so he has the ability it's just that sometimes when when it's live bullets uh I think sometimes he panics and and things like that and I think that's where he kind of goes wrong but I just I don't know like it's going to be tough cam Ward's going to be a hell of a matchup for them they've got to figure out ways to to limit him in the big plays there um and then they just got to figure out a way to uh to get Mario Chrystal ball right where they want him um where you a chance to kneel the ball and in instead he uh elects to to run it so that's uh that's that's perfect scenario for Florida but in all seriousness they they've got to show that they're able to win win at the line of scrimmage which they should be capable of yeah and and Trevor etian is not GNA be in this game because he's obviously in Athens and Montreal Johnson he got scoped he's going to be out for this game as well so as much as G5 LinkedIn Billy wants to run the football you kind of have a Texas type situation Jeb I I can understand why this line is as close as it is is though because this is going to be the most confusing game at least to try and figure out because Florida I know we've all been down on Florida but they they do have great athletes there they just seem to be kind of all over the place of when they're going to play well and when they're not uh which I'm sure we could just attribute to coaching but Miami does the same thing chrisal man you just never know with Miami they have games where they play really well and games where they're just terrible and it's just I until he puts it all together there I I can't really blame that on Talent so I don't know what's going on there get beat by Middle Tennessee yes and that's I'm saying he can just have the worst games you just don't see coming so I there's just no way to know what they're gonna do so this game's gonna be fun to watch but they like I said I can understand why they have a close line on it because nobody wants to try and pick this it's impossible to pick so if I pick so here's the thing I can guarantee one team to win so if I pick Miami Florida will win if I pick Florida Miami hey that's the reason Becky likes you in pics which by the way Becky is taking part in pcks even though she's not on the show but on her behalf how about that there you go yeah the pumpkin spice Brigade is making an appearance tonight I will so here's what I'm gonna do I'm gonna read her pick so terribly that she's just like screw it I'm I'm gonna jump on she's like Bill O'Reilly is like yes f it I'll do it live yeah we do it live that's that's a win for me yeah I would say on this game uh I will say this one thing so this is breaking within the last I want to say 45 minutes it looks like Montreal Johnson is gonna play Oh interesting so that that could change that's big for Florida yes huge huge so um it depends on how health he is right is he like 60% is he 80% or is he really 100% that that will matter as well he maybe a decoy you know what I mean be in there for pass protection right so so it could matter if if he's you know 80% or 90% And and can play you know close to full speed then that really is big for Florida um hey guys let's get this out of the way real quick right now we got our first cult reference to Texas A&M since you guys come welcome to the show wow it was 5050 it was either going to be Milkman or the cult so yeah refer 20 minutes into the show that's pretty good awesome that's a deep cut that was a deep cut that's good um but so for me this one is a must-win for Florida I mean this schedule is absolutely brutal the first couple you know this this starts the season and then that you know these they got two weeks get Sanford next week um and then they got A&M in week three so you could potentially if you lose this game you could start one and two in the first three games and if that happens Billy Napier's seat is piping High so in my opinion he's got to win this game I I do like the fact that it's at the swamp I wish it was at night for Florida um but you know I I agree like I'm I worry about Miami I I I haven't seen him put it together some games they look amazing and some games they don't I think cam Ward helps obviously like he played you know amazing at Washington State so having him a quarterback I think really does help them they've got Playmakers on the outside uh but another thing about Miami is that they were heavy in the transfer portal again and they brought in a lot of talent no doubt about it you look at at what they brought in Dam Martinez is good yeah there there are some good players they brought in without a doubt but as we've seen over the past couple of years with the transfer portal uh sometimes it takes a little bit for that to mesh you know it's kind of like making a team on the Fly and these kids haven't been in the system for a long time so week one lights are on let's see what happens um but yeah it's GNA be a great game Hey Jake um Clemson is playing against Georgia and the ear early game it's like going in reverse order this is an 11 o' kickoff um as well but Tyler from Spartanburg completely broke Debo Sweeny since you're an Alabama guy I do want that perspective from you oh I love it I can't stand Deo we we have a little hashtag around here says never Dabo and when s retired you know everybody was putting in never Dao never Dao never dbo so I'm glad that he's staying at Clemson and you know especially since he does not care about getting transferred players for some odd reason you know so he can just stay out there enjoy that speaking of his take off yeah yeah we'll get to that in just a second I do want to keep the trains on the track before we get the picks yeah U we will get to that because that is a absolutely fantastic commercial it is Clemson against Georgia can Clemson keep this game close is there a couple of more driving days for Georgia before then I think we'll keep it close for a little bit um defense is pretty good I think it'll I think it'll take Georgia a minute to kind of kind of break through um and and I think they'll you know they have a chance of pulling away late but like I think you'll for for a while you're gonna be like if you take Georgia in the spread you're going to be like oh maybe I shouldn't have done that and then all of a sudden the game ends and you're like okay good be that kind of situation because I mean they're their defense is is going going to be formidable um you I talked to Kevin Butler um on my on my believe in Georgia dog show he's an honorary Captain what's that humble brag humble brag I don't want to dislocate my shoulder patting myself on the back but um he he once kicked a ball 100,000 miles to beat Clemson back in 1984 according to Larry mson measured it so it must be true right man Larry Munson's just fantastic he was especially that's one of that's one of his more famous calls too was that play so but anyway he uh we were talking about that and a lot of people are kind of overlooking Clemson because of dbos Sweeney um I I still think I don't want to give away my pick but it's G to be it's gonna be a tight one I I think for a while and Georgia is just GNA overwhelm them once they kind of figure out how to re you know their new weapons their transfer portal guys not sure right now if etn is going to play um because of a suspension but the running game's gonna be a little yes yeah yeah I mean honestly I've heard that Georgia puts the Ten Commandments on the wall in their facility so the players know what rules to break yeah they have like a checklist like okay um I swear somebody a producer from The Fast and Furious series must have been in town trying to trying to do some recruiting Because I've never seen so many speeding violations in my entire life at Georgia they're family yeah God they are family they are totally family andj you you know but no Carson backck I think is going to have a big game uh Kade kubik I I think will have a a decent game it'll no no no not against that defense no I said decent oh well decent by a team going against Georgia is that what you mean or decent by normal relatively speaking yes okay decent yeah it's like come on they're all top 100 players on Georgia's defense it's gonna be that's gonna be tough SL everybody says this this is Kirby's best defense that he's had yeah this isn't even and saying that with the 21 defense that won the first national championship that averaged six points a game yeah it's pretty insane and it should be three in a row because that Alabama player dropped the ball you don't know what's gonna happen the rest of the game double 07 jump dropped the ball yeah he dropped the ball he dropped the ball GE Georgia was totally flabbergasted after that they couldn't and and and if Georgia would have done taken care of business in that SEC Championship game we would not be subject to Conor stallions we would not be subject to Michigan fans over the last six months this is all George's fault yeah it is yeah it is what the hell it just is I don't even blame Alabama for losing that game against Michigan no I blame Georgia for actually crapping the b in the SEC title game Steve's really on his best behavior yeah it's week it's week one I've got my game face on I'm not wearing a hat I'm ready he's not cussing it's it's 25 minutes in usually we've let about four or five of them fly at this point it's after dark that's what you're supposed to do yeah yeah right yeah that's right but honestly I do like George in this game I do think George is potentially going to go wire to wire as National Title contenders you did a show saying otherwise Steve no I a bold prediction that Miss was going to beat Georgia there there's a little bit of a difference there we talking about here yeah by the way one of the if if anybody's in content which we are all in content if you want some free views if you want some free advice just in your title insinuate that you are going to beat the Georgia Bulldogs and just watch the Beautiful You Come In they'll come out of the woodwork and everywhere and while Georgia Tech is visiting Ireland if you want if you want to uh if you want to chart in Great Britain yes yeah say that George is gonna lose the game because you're gonna get some beautiful yellow jacket views too I charted in Great Britain I was like what happened yeah it's like oh wait they're in Ireland Georgia Tech fans are in Ireland all 17 of them may half that number is Busters family yeah and and and chart on a football chart in Great Britain during soccer season because everybody needs to remember over there football is that football so the numbers actually have to be pretty good to get up to the point where you're popping up on that chart you know you're sitting next to like the Everton evertonian podcast you know the T what is going yeah I like the like the like the continued connection with me on that one the Everton podcast and the Georgia Tech and Georgia and I like it good good stuff I think that I do think that game has to be a tone Setter game for the SEC it has that potential on to the point where if Clemson isn't careful Georgia could just absolutely steamroll over them but there's also a chance that Georgia can come into that game sleepwalking and you end up with a similar game to what it was a couple of years ago they're not sleepwalking they could come in just kind of discombobulated because they have a new a lot of new faces and transfer portal guys and some guys suspended and some guys injured but they ain't sleepwalking you think reget hiring um Mike Bobo and letting Buster fauler out of that building probably probably Kirby's gonna light that locker room on fire right before they walk out there I mean Bobo put a 63 Burger on that same FSU team so yeah I the the big thing that I have a question about uh in this game and I I think it really just speaks to the 13 and a half point spread uh with Georgia favored there's obviously a talent disparity in this game now Clemson Clemson's recruited well you know even though we all can say things about Dabo and the issues with the transfer portal and why he doesn't do it but Clemson still has a lot of Talent on the roster especially on the defensive side of the ball but the question that I've got is you know Kade Club kmck is this five-star quarterback he didn't look that great last year yeah um looked decent but this year you know he's supposed to take that step and he's supposed to grow into that five-star quarterback it'll be his second year in Garrett Riley's offense and the big the big question though to me is I'm looking at this receiver room and I'm just not seeing it to be honest I've seen you know Clemson receivers over the years uh our mom went to Clemson me and Hammer's you know mom went to Clemson and so uh we we keep an eye on that program and this m went to Clemson mom Napoleon Dynamite reference oh oh God and time of death 9 see you guys later yeah that was a good line H but gone to the days of Sammy Watkins and Mike Williams and you know all of those receivers that Justin Ross that walked through there uh and just you know took defenses out and they could take the top off the defense you're looking at this roster and you're not really seeing that maybe somebody breaks out this year but somebody's going to have to step up and I'm looking at that Georgia defense I just don't think that that Clemson has the studs and the horses um that K clck can get the ball to for them to be able to win this game yeah and the last time I think Kirby faced Garrett Riley in a football game I I think Kirby won 65 to7 or something like that yeah probably most boring National Championship ever Cory other than love it who who do we need to watch out for on Georgia I know you said eten is maybe not if he's on the field him for sure have a good game I just don't know what his weapons are Colby young transfer from Miami um Michael Jackson London humph all you know all transfers um I would say ra ra Thomas but we know what happened there Oscar Del Oscar Del uh Ben urk the two tight ends tight ends because we know how much likes the tight ends yep Branson Robinson who's um yeah that dude that dude's good he's built like the Terminator um he's built like a hero action figure um and then Nick chub yeah on steroids um so yeah th those are some guys to watch out for offensively um for now defensively who who are the people that are going to be the um male carriers for that defensive unit this season uh Mikel Williams is going to be in the Nolan Smith role pressuring the quarterback defensive end Edge guy um CJ Allen and railen Wilson the two inside backers are GNA Patrol CJ Allen is doing his best hey Cassidy he's doing his best ran Smith impression um and he's doing pretty good at it uh Malachi Starks as well at the safety position and then um your Corners are gonna they're all going to be kind of a conglomerate of like you know one guy might make a play the next guy the next week might make a play but um yeah it's going to be I I would say and the Freshman to watch out for is KJ Bolton I think he's gonna be somebody that's gonna be um he's gonna turn it on early he's the first kid I think we've ever gotten from Buford that's a little bit a little bit uh hyperbolic but speaking of hyperbole huh speaking of hyper wow Michael Dallas fan and DC Campbell dropped a good one on us is that mcdc did he really actually spell out MC no it's a lot of letters there bud might want to change that mafa can play but I don't know if he's derck Henry no that that player does not against George's defense either big and slow ain't gonna cut it against George's defense yeah smil mundon and Malachi Starks too those two are SM Mund he well if smell mundon play so smell mundon was now we have um about 27 minutes to get through 16 games okay Challen yeah everybody keep that in mind whenever they're giving their breakdown of the game we're g do something a little bit different this time look at that beautiful there you go hammer yeah all right here we go picks uh first game Arkansas Pine Bluff at Arkansas one of the biggest spreads I've ever seen 49 and a half we'll go we'll go in order of the way you see it the viewer sees it on the box so Jake you're gonna lead us off and we'll go snake style so I'll it'll all make sense later am I after Jake or you after Jake no it goes Jake Steve boss man me Jeb and Hammer are we picking against the spread I assume yes spread got it and go uh I am actually picking Arkansas PM Bluff I mean 50 point spread for Arkansas Arkansas I know they you know they had some trouble last year they lost KJ Jefferson did they have enough horses and and they did bring in you know Bobby patrino but is he gonna make a difference is he going to be able to score you know put up points with these guys I don't think they're gonna get 50 and if Arkansas Pine BL just gets a field goal they're not going to cover the spread at all so give me Arkansas P Bluff yeah I would think um along those lines but one thing that tells me is that t and green um is going to be pretty good and I expect Arkansas's offense to score a little bit and that defense is going to be pretty good as well so look for a special team touchdown or two in this game and that is going to be how Arkansas covers this line Boss Man Boss Man uh okay so I'm gonna go Arkansas Pine Bluff is as well um I I do think that there's a chance that Arkansas could cover that spread just based on Bobby patrino being the offensive coordinator you know that guy's you never know he can go off uh for a ton of points any day but looking at Arkansas's roster at this point I don't think that they can cover that spread yeah I agree I I just think 49 and a half is way too much because I think Arkansas Pine Bluff will get a touchdown on the JV on the JV Squad in the JV game so that'll that'll ruin the spread so I'm taking I'm taking Pine Bluff yeah I'm trying to gain a game on you guys right now that's the reason I took I rolled the dice on this so you're going for the two-o conversion in the first quarter yes got it yes I'm gonna do that later in this so I get it full strategy cotton no there's not really much I can add to that I there's some of these spreads I'm going to uh to take and just see what happens but this is not one of them I'm I'm going to pick Pine Bluff in this one hammer same here that that's too big of a line I don't trust Arkansas yet I got I got to see something from them and not that I know anything about Arkansas Pine Bluff but 49 and a half is too big for me all right Hammer dust off that brain you're going right back to it Temple at Oklahoma Big Time spread here too Temple traveling uh to Norman to kick off the season Friday night Friday night so I don't know too much about Oklahoma but Hammer give it to me yeah I've got temple in this similar thought process as the the last game 43 and half is just a big line I I could see Oklahoma covering but I don't trust what we've seen so far out of Jackson Arnold with his turnover issues and The Limited action we've seen so to think that he's going to come out and you know hang 50 because I think you know Temple can maybe score whatever a field goal maybe a touchdown uh I'm not believing in that yet so I'll take temple to cover yeah I'm gonna kind of agree with you I mean I don't think Oklahoma's going to have much trouble in this game but at the same time a lot of that offense is fairly new I I think they're going to take a little time to get it together I don't think they're coming out just dominating this game as well as they probably could especially if it was later in the season so I'm gonna take temple to just cover yeah I'm I'm in no way shaper for him pick and Temple to win this game but I do think they will they will lose by less than 43 and a half I I just don't I just don't know Oklahoma Oklahoma's going to have to score 55 to keep this thing above the spread and I just don't think they can do that and I think Temple can can at least slow the game down enough to where they can't get that far ahead so give me the give me the owls boss man um just for the sake of uh going against you guys what the hell I'll just pick Oklahoma trying to steal a game yeah yeah I try to steal a game why not I actually agree with most of what you guys are saying I don't trust Jackson Arnold yet um I know he's I think he's a great QB you know the ceiling is the roof as Michael Jordan would say for um for Jackson Arnold but uh I just got to see it I know he's got some turnover issues um however whatever I think he's gonna have a heck of a game he's gonna come out uh gunslinging and and cover that spread yeah and also from the last game Becky is taking Arkansas Pine Bluff she called them PB and J in that game um but this Oklahoma game I'm gonna take temp Becky is taking Temple I think that Oklahoma is going to have trouble scoring more than 43 points because I do think Temple's going to get a touchdown at some point in this game Jake yeah I agree Stephen I think Temple can can score a touchdown and maybe get a field goal be 10 points for them and and a 43 and a half spread is kind of kind of big to cover so we're me Cassy both are taking Temple as well all right I think that quarterback and um for Temple is kurtt Warner's kid oh if I'm not mistaken know like EJ Warner something like that some yeah okay they can make a movie about him too possibly it's a great a fantastic movie okay my uh my P brain just figured out that the order of these picks um and and how they flow based on the spreadsheet it goes across um yeah so we're going to jump back up to Murray State and then we're going to get back on and then go that regular order here it's going to jump a minute before I get back on track um so Murray State travels to Missouri 46 and a half Point dogs Murray State the racers Jake can they cover that I'm taking them to cover again 46 and a half spread is is a lot and I mean anything can happen especially week one so give me Murray State and Cassy is picking Murray State as well um I'm going to take Missouri in this game I really like the quarterback at Missouri there offensive coordinator is um actually Kell Moore's brother um he calls a really good game we saw at the end of the year they were really good at running those outside Zone plays and those stretch plays that Elijah drink Witch is kind of known for I think Missouri's gonna win the game Becky though is going to take the Murray State Racers and I was wrong Cassy did Pit Missouri my bad good job boss man uh I'm going to take missou as well I like Brady cook Luther Burton that offense is huming they lost Lo Cody I like to call him Cody Shredder because he was shredding defenses last year um just like teage Mutant Ninja Tur oh that's right uh so yeah I'm gonna take missou in this one um they're gonna be breaking in a new running back but uh I think they'll cover that spread even though it's a lot yeah lots of Firepower here at missou um you know they they've they can they can put points up in bunches I trust them to be able to cover a spread like this unlike Oklahoma uh and then uh Cory shraer as I called him because I'm for some reason I've got some weird form of Dyslexia where I see a name and I just create a name in my mind I did it with Kiren drones I called him Caleb for my entire show until I realized it I was like ah screw it'll be fun if I just leave it so that's why why you're an irrational fan that's why I won irrational fan of the Week from Genia Tech and they said that's called content baby that's right they said the internet in my mom's basement wasn't working properly yeah so so give me missou actually on this show we kind of get that we understand where they're coming from yeah uh no I think I think Missouri uh you know they only lost a couple games last year I don't see a lot of people really picking them to go to the playoffs as much this year I think they might feel a little bit disrespected and they are a team that can score a lot I think they come out swinging just to kind of make a statement so I'm taking Missouri to cover that same here yep I uh all the reasons y'all said I like Missouri's offense the OC quarterback good good weapons at wide out I think they can cover the spread so I'll take missou all right Hammer stay with it Clemson Georgia minus 13 and a half we talked about the game a little bit in depth how do you see it shaking out I'll take Georgia to cover um I liked what you said earlier Corey I think Clemson defensively will be good and will keep this thing pretty close I just I don't see on offense Clemson being able to figure out the Georgia defense so I like Georgia to cover this this spread and and get the season uh started off right oh yeah no and I agree I think Georgia covers and I don't think it's gonna be as close as everybody says it is I'm gon be honest with you I think Georgia comes out and pretty much dominates this game maybe it starts a little slow but it it won't end that way yeah I think it I think unless Georgia comes out fumbling bumbling stumbling um this game will be worst case scenario two touchdowns um and best case scenario probably four touchdowns uh kind of like what we kind of like what we saw with Georgia Georgia Oregon uh a year ago or no two years ago at this point where they just came out and it was like 49 to nothing like in the uh after the first possession so um give me give me the Bulldogs here Carson Beck's gonna have a huge game get off to a slow start but he'll end up having a huge game all right uh yes I also think that Georgia is going to cover the spread uh Rick and Bonnie I saw your comment I think it's possible you never know uh first game of the season uh maybe uh I think it says clinson um but I'm not taking Clon to cover the spread Clon sucks they're they're in Southern Indiana they're a D3 school I think I'm gonna create them on NCAA football 25 there you go but yeah I'm taking I'm Georgia to cover the spread uh like you were talking about or earlier Corey I think uh Clemson probably keeps it close for about three quarters and then I think uh Georgia pulls away late and covers the spread out a boy I think a good game for Clemson like after this when Georgia walks into the locker room feeling good about themselves is them looking up at the scoreboard and it's 31 to 14 to where they just get beat by 17 points I think this has a chance more likely to get ugly on the Georgia thing than it actually to be a close game I think 38 to1 might be the way this game shakes out give me the Georgia Bulldogs and Becky is also saying goaga Hell yeah yeah we're picking Georgia as well I mean that defense and what else can you say about it it's going to be really a special unit and I just don't think Clinton has the Firepower on offense right now to to stay with uh Georgia so give us uh Georgia all right Jake stay with it here vek travels to Vandy Vandy actually has a fixed scoreboard so no Scoreboard on a crane no dust bowl they actually they toured the media through the seats and so it is finished they are ready Vandy State agid doors the Vandy State agid doors New Look agid doors welcome the Virginia Tech hokes who are 13 and a half Point favorites into Nashville Jake I I don't know much about you know Tech right now and I know Vandy has a complet new new roster so uh have a lot of they have a lot of experience well you know but I'm actually GNA take Vandy to uh to cover the spread and I'm actually gonna pick the upset give me oh straight up you're going straight up hey I went straight up with Georgia Tech last week and that worked out well so true um I'm going to take Vandy to cover not to win um I think this game is a seven to 10-point game for votch vk's a good football team they're going to be one of the teams that compete for the um ACC Championship the all Coast Conference Championship and um Becky also is going I do believe with the agie state the Vandy State agie doors there we go there we go boss man I'm gonna take Virginia Tech to cover this spread um little known fact uh boss man and Hammer have some Virginia Roots uh part part of our life we grew up in Charlottesville so um we we know a lot of Virginia fans and a lot of Virginia Tech fans so we we know this rival rivalry well um Virginia Tech uh I think they've got a great team this year I think that they're gonna be in the top half of the ACC uh Kyon drones their quarterback is one of the best athletes in the ACC um and I think they're starting to get it back going again in black blackburg um on the other side Vandy uh I just don't believe in him I don't believe in Diego Pavia um I think he's a decent quarter back but at the at the moment I just really don't see uh much success for Vandy this year again so give me Virginia Tech to cover let me tell you a little bit about Diego Pavia how much time we got now uh Diego Pavia is really accurate he's good on he's good on the ground but he can't he can't throw it deep and so a wrestler they're yeah he's a wrestler they're gon they're going to have to get creative in how they move the ball and I think they do I think they have the right the right two guys the The X Factor here for Vandy is actually not a player it's Jerry kill um and he is uh you know they're Clark Le's calling the defense like a lot of changes have gone in vandy's favor I think worst case scenario they cover this thing but I've been calling my shot this whole freaking offseason so I'm gonna stick with it I'm gonna take Vandy I would take either Vandy on the spread or if you're really bold take Vandy on the money line oh outright two outright two guys taking oh my goodness yeah I don't know if I can do thatal fan of the Week for nothing I I'm kind of with Jake I don't know a whole lot about Virginia Tech other than I remember their defense was pretty stacked and I think it's gonna be pretty good again this year which makes me worry a little bit for Vandy now Vandy I just don't know because it's a rebuilt team so we'll we'll see what happens I've been hearing what uh what Cory's been telling us about it it sounds great but we have to wait and see it on the field I am going to go ahead and take Vandy to cover the spread I think that they will at least keep this close I'm not going to take them outright hurt him all right Chattanooga traveling to Tennessee how is this game a 38 and a half point spread that's seems a little low to me seems a little tight it's his first well not his first start but first year starting so you got to give him a little bit of leeway to get into the you know into the Rhythm Hammer feels tied to me I I I'll take Tennessee to cover I I think yeah you know hypo runs a high-powered fast-paced offense he's gonna want Nico to show out in his first start so I think Tennessee will cover this spread oh yeah I think we'll have 40 points by halftime but you're right no this is this is one where I think uh niik really really wants to come out and play Big because he played well last year in the Citrus Bowl it was a great game against Iowa against iow the defense is going from Iowa down to Chattanooga right but he also ran he had some great throws but he ran most of those touchdowns in I think he wants to come out and show that he can throw these uh these deep balls and these pretty passes and and complete a bunch of them so I'm looking for him to have a great game I think Tennessee covers the Sprint hell yeah I'm I'm with you there Tennessee I think this is a very very easy cover um for for Tennessee because it's so low I I think they have 45 points by the mid by Midway through the third quarter I think they get I think they dip into the 50s so unless Chattanooga plans on pulling a Geor State I I think this would be a pretty easy cover why' you have to say that yeah I feel like we're all jinxing ourselves by saying this um oh it's a tight spread and Tennessee is gonna cover this but I I do feel like Tennessee is gonna cover this it's a Josh hypo offense we saw what Nico could do like Stephen said against an Iowa defense um I know there were some opt outs with the bowl game and everything but uh you know Nico kind of burst onto the scene so I I like all the weapons he's got around him he's got Brew McCoy coming back from injury he's got squirrel white I mean he's just got weapons all over the field uh on offense and you know this is Chattanooga so I'm not worried about Tennessee's defense give me uh give me the balls to cover yeah it's Tennessee all day give me the BS as well Becky says she is taking the real UT there you go true we uh we're taking Tennessee as well and you know Tennessee a few years ago put up 56 points I think against Alabama and Alabama's loaded with Talent [ __ ] don't have that type of talent so it's going to be it's going to be a blood bath yeah all right uh our next game for the sake of time all of us except Hammer are picking Texas Hammer State your case purely a principal play I am not gonna pick Texas to cover the spread as an Aggie uh that's all the analysis I can give that's all you need sometimes right this one might be a principal one for me so Jake I'm Gonna Let You start off Miami Two and a Half Point favorites on the road against the the fighting G5 billies you know we you keeping score at home we talked about Miami in this Florida game and U you know to me this feels like a game that Florida's got to win because we talked about that that last five stretch they have and they need this game to you know win this game to possibly be bow eligible but I just don't know if Florida can do it and both teams really are a show me type team to see what they can do but I think Miami can cover cover this and I mean would it been a low spread they probably win by like a three and I'm I'm going with um home team on this one um so I'm going with the for theator since the game is in the swamp Becky doing the hand gesture she's going to take the U oh Becky's actually participating live now we're getting closer guys she's doing hand signals now she's missing it I know you are missing it Becky sleep yeah well I'll do that then too and do the hand signal down the Gators uh I'm taking them at home because it's a home game that's why I'm taking the Gators I think they cover the spread uh I think grah Merz in the second year uh I think he's gonna look a lot better than he did last year he had some games where he looked great some games where he didn't um but yeah I'm going to take Florida uh they really need this win bad like I said it's a must win so give me the Gators boss man two things don't ever do this because people get their feelings hurt around here um team here because it's the home team um they'll be better up front uh they'll have a hard time stopping cam Ward but ultimately I don't think Miami is gonna have enough Firepower uh to overtake the gator here uh so they're going to be one step closer to bowl eligibility it's going to be a tough road but I think they get this one I don't know I I think on paper I think Miami is the slightly better team it's just like I said they're so inconsistent you never know what's going to happen and I know taking the home team is probably the safe play here but I want Florida to lose eight games ODU is I I don't know anything about Old Dominion I'll I'll I'll I just know that I know they're the monarchs that's about all I can give you um so which which by the way the colleges that like the G5 schools in Virginia between the James Madison dukes and the Old Dominion monarchs they might as well just be wearing red coats at this point I mean weren't for the come on we literally fought a war too I mean they have turkeys as a mascot they have Cavaliers with Sabers that's British yeah they're trying to tell us something here so mascot is basically Matthew MCC um yeah I think I had OBU to cover this um South Carolina brand new quarterback don't know what to expect from Sellers and I don't know anything about odu's team this year but I know in years past they've beaten Virginia Tech I think they beaten Virginia somewhere along the line so they're at least pesky so I'll take the points in that game with ODU all right Jeb I'm I'm with you on that one South Carolina was just rough last year and I I just don't have I don't have faith in them right now especially you know I mean they've lost a lot of pieces I I don't know what they're going to be so honestly I'm just gonna take OD you to cover on this until South Carolina proves they can actually win with this team yeah I I I hope South South Carolina does not make a liar out of me here um I said for the previous pick yeah I'm not stupid I'm going to pick the home team here I am I'm stupid I'm gonna pick the home team uh pick a South Carolina 20 and a half I think they win by three touchdowns it'll be a weird cover it'll be one of those I don't know how they covered but they did and that's how it's gonna that's how it's going to shake out uh I'm gonna take ODU to cover in this one um again we've got that Virginia connection ODU uh folks want to look it up they took down Virginia Tech uh twice in the last four or I think it's five years so two wins over Virginia Tech they have split with Virginia Tech in their alltime series um these teams like that in Virginia are known for taking down the big guys uh Virginia has lost to William uh William and Mary and I believe JMU um in the last decade so uh ODU and the teams like those of Virginia they usually play up and play well this is out South Carolina so that makes it difficult but again I I don't exactly know uh what South Carolina is this year I'm very interested to see Lora sers play uh and see what his connection is like uh with Nichols Harbor um who we really haven't seen a lot of but he's got a ton of talent so but still give me OD to you to cover um everybody is talking about Lenor Sellers and all that of what South Carolina can be but the story in this game and the reason that South Carolina is going to cover this game is rocket Sanders um so give me South Carolina in this game and Becky as well she is going with the Cox yeah real mature back good job family show here Becky family show can't take anywhere Hammer I agree with you you know uh ODU is pesy that like you said last year they they played JMU really close I think they lost about three to them and and U they played I think they lost to um uh you know Georgia State and a few other guys but uh but they really pesky team I think they cover this I'm taking OD you Cassy is taking South Carolina all right Jake stick stick with it here snake style East Kentucky at Mississippi State thought maybe that was going to be unanimous but no it's um Jake yeah I just I just don't know what Mississippi state has and and 26 and a half points oh that's that's a lot for a team that's has been down for several years now so give me e Kentucky um State's going to score Jeff lebby is going to score that's what that offense does now the question is can they stop them enough to where the lead stretches out to four touchdowns I think that does happen against the Eastern Kentucky Kels um and Becky is taking the puppy dogs as well Cass he did too I agree I'll take uh I'll take state to cover in this one uh I don't think we need to go into it too much so state to cover yeah Eastern Kentucky is not great either so I'm taking state they're going to score Eastern ky's probably not and Bama is the unanimous one by the way that was the unanimous game yeah so Bama's unanimous um I think all of us are picking Bama because Bama's gonna Bama so let's go to let's go to hammer and boss man we'll let you two go first we'll go in a little bit different order on this one k us off Boss Man start us out you want me to okay I'll go um okay so I saw somebody the comments say that A&M is hitting uh minus three on a lot of sites now um so they're favored by three in this game I think uh if it's three I think that it's a push um if it's uh two and a half if that's where we're at at game time um then I think A&M covers covers it I do think the Notre Dame's defense is really good um and it's gonna be interesting to see if A&M has enough but I I trust in Conor Wegman I think that kid has a lot of talent um and the fact that it's in Kyle Field at night is what pushes it over the edge for me I think the he win by a field goal all right Hammer yeah I like um a in to cover I think it's should be a really close game uh I think the X Factor here especially with Notre Dame defense being the the strength of their team um with the questions at offensive line I think the fact that uh you know A&M's bringing in a new staff obviously with with Colin Klein from Kansas State who did a lot of really nice things there um I think getting Notre Dame opening weak is helpful because obviously you can go back and look at you know his Kansas State film but it'll be different with different weapons um in a different team so I think that'll give A&M a slight Edge um in a in a very close game but I'll take A&M to win and cover Jeb this is the one where I'm actually gonna be conturing I know everybody's like an A&M and I do too for the most part but and I want to point out in past years I have not been one of them to get sucked into that oh this is Notre Dame's year and they're finally back or that crap but this year I'm kind of buying it a little bit I think Notre Dame's going to be good this year I think they come out a little more ready in this first game and actually cover this and win yeah I like I like A&M here I like the Aggies um I like the attitude I like the culture being built with uh with Mike Elco I think this is going to be a really good hard fought game I think Notre Dame wins by six and I'm I'm I'm really a big fan of Conor Wegman I think he's finally got a real real Coach now for for his development no you said Notre Dame wins by six because you've got um Texas did I mean did I say Notre Dame yeah oh sorry I meant Texas A&M see that's that's that I yeah okay no no no no no no no no Texas ADM it's gonna win by six yes um Conor Wegman yeah Conor Wegman does not play for Notre Dame just so you know uh in case you're wondering but he has finally has a real Coach I think Texas A&M figures out a little bit um under Mike Elco and they get a multiple score win against Notre Dame in Kyle Field Saturday night and Becky she's going the other way it's A House Divided she's taking the pumpkin spice Brigade to pick pull off the win against Texas A&M say that story later guys we uh we we're we're picking A&M uh and I'm With You Stephen I see this as a 10 plus game you know I I do think A&M kind of R Mal ELO is going to be a lot better and that was a great hire so uh I'm really high on him so give me test A&M to like the 2015 year that Old Miss was there they put like 70 points on back-to-back weeks Hugh freeze likes to run up the score and I think he's going to run it up a little bit bit on Alama A&M and B&M is is my pick in that one to I think he'll run it up yeah Southern Miss at Kentucky 27 and a half points Jake start us off here uh I you know I'm picking Southern Miss I just don't know what Kentucky has this year um but Southern Miss is kind of a greedy team and um you know so I'm you know 28 I think they keep it close it might be like a 31 to 14 type game but I think that's the missing cover um I'm going to go with the home team Kentucky to pull off the win when I figure they are going to score 35 38 points can they hold Texas a or or Southern Miss and less than 10 I think they'll be able to do that and Becky in this game is taking the mustard buzzards mustard buzzards boss man uh I agree with you Jake um I'm going with Southern Miss uh to cover the spread I think Kentucky gets an easy win in um but I think 27 and a half for Kentucky um just watching their offense over the last couple years they're breaking in another new offensive coordinator um so I'm gonna take Southern Miss to cover the spread and I'm taking Kentucky at the at the grocery bag um I I think they're I think they're good enough to hold Southern Miss to seven points and I think they'll they'll figure out even with the new offensive coordinator they'll figure out with uh Brock Vandergriff how to put up 35 3 six points something like that so I think they'll cover barely but they do cover and no and I'm I'm back with them I don't have the faith in Kentucky actually running up score like that I think they'll win they'll they'll be fine and they've got a lot of things they've got to figure out and work out I think they'll do it but I just don't think they're gonna run up the score on this teame so no I'm taking Southern Miss to cover Hammer as am I I'll take Southern Miss new quarterback and Brock Vandergriff new OC like bunch of youall already mentioned so just too many points for me to give um Kentucky right now so I'll take Southern Miss to cover all right Hammer keep it rolling last game it is uh I believe this is the night cap right Yep this is night the lior Day game yeah yeah so this is a weekend all right yeah I thought it was Sunday it's Monday it's it's not Saturday it's it's after that it is Sunday because it's when I'm driving home so I got to get home in time for this game yeah it's it's one of those days that's not Saturday so um USC charman ultrasoft comes into um the the cherry tomato face family they come try to invade the family uh LSU is four and a half Point favorites Hammer keep it rolling I this is I'm really excited for this game because I'm I'm I got a lot of questions about both of these teams I'm just going to role with LSU and the SEC against a I guess well now they're big 10 but formerly Pack 12 team uh so I'll take LSU to win and cover but very interested to see how both quarterbacks do I know USC's got a revamped coaching staff on the defensive side so uh maybe that that shows up but I'm skeptical so I'll take LSU to to win and cover yeah I'm kind of with you I'm I'm not gonna believe USC's defense does anything until I see it because it was so bad and I I'm sure they've been working on it I you know we'll see how it goes but I think both these teams score pretty well LSU's got the better defense I'm definitely taking them to win and four and a half points I'll go ahead and take them to cover that yeah I'm taking LSU here I just I don't I don't believe yet in the USC Sharman soft defensive scheme um I think Lincoln Riley is as good as as good as they get as far as offensive stuff um but Caleb Williams is playing for the Bears and I I just I just there's too many unknowns here if it was any other team I I would probably go with USC um but I'm g go LSU here I I think up front they're gonna they're going to win this thing and and really pull this one out uh I'm I'm super interested in this game I feel like it's gonna be fun to watch Garett nesme um with those that you know the weapons they have on offense for LSU um on the opposite side you've got uh I think his name is Miller Moss if I've got that right right the the quarterback for USC um who they're going to be breaking in a new QB over there um taking over for kale Williams um I think that uh I think I'm the only one that took I'm realizing I like changed some of my picks as I'm looking at the sheet too so I'm gonna have to go Ahad and fix those I I you know did a game time decision here tonight on a couple but uh for this this one I I think I'm actually gonna take USC to cover the spread and I think I'm gonna take him to win outright um I think people are I I know that that USC has a Sherman soft defense like you guys have said I I agree with that they do have some Talent over there maybe though they've got a new defensive coordinator and maybe they finally start to figure it out uh LSU's defense frankly isn't that good LSU's defense was not the LSU defenses that we've seen in the past uh last year um they got gashed by multiple teams especially in the secondary and I don't trust that secondary yet and I know what Lincoln Riley's offenses can do and so I'm pretty worried about that LSU back in uh as we're looking at us C's offense so I'm going to take USC um I was on the SEC preview on locked on and Matt mcana was on there as well and he was talking about this game and he mentioned that LSU might be about to man up and run the football even though you have Garrett nus meire and you're going to have SK skill position and kind of shorten the game kind of take the air out of the football a little bit and if that happens in that charman extra soft defense that Lincoln Riley is known for I I I I just think that LSU might have the advantage but the one thing you don't do is ever trust Brian Kelly in a big game yeah so but I'm gonna take LSU because I'm an idiot I think I'm an IDI yeah I'm an idiot too because we're both taking LSU I just I feel like LSU you know is going to turn the corner this year defensively and uh USC does have a really high-powered offense with Lincoln Raleigh but I think LSU gets enough stops here to you know to win this game yeah LSU's offensive line wins the game yeah yeah just spot on spot
