Jordan Wicks talks Idolizing Jon Lester, Chicago Cubs Bond, MLB The Show Character & Mt. Rushmore

[Music] all right man so I got to ask you just growing up who was some of your favorite baseball players my favorite baseball player ever was uh Chipper Jones growing up I was a big uh John Lester fan uh I was a big Mike Miner fan when he was with the Braves love Mike Miner um yeah those are some of my guys I love it so you know I do the Mount Rushmore question on the spot if you put four pitches on the Mount Rushmore your four so my four pitchers are going to be Nolan Ryan Sandy kofax um oh [Music] man we're going to go Tom glavin Lefty got to got got to go Lefty there yeah yeah got to oh man and we going to go sa young got award named after him got to put him on there got to put him on there love it love it so if you could take one at from a pitcher or let's say you can take one pitch and add it to your Arsenal what pitch would you want to take from a legend and add it to your Arsenal oh you got to go Nolan Ryan's fastball gotta go Nolan Ryan F intimidating okay I like I like that I like that so you know I think this Cubs scene has a lot of potential this year right a mixture of young and um vets as well so what do you see in this team man obviously Health everybody needs to be healthy but just going forward for the SC what are you seeing them man I see a great Bond we got a good uh we got a good connection in the locker room got a lot of team chemistry um so I think you know that take us a long way and we got a we got a really good mix of veterans and young guys so I'm I'm really excited about this season I love it I love it so MLB to show the video game oh yeah I got to ask you it's the first time you start yourself on a video game what did you think man it was crazy I grew up playing that game and so you know to have myself on it was was crazy um we got to get him to add my change up on there though my gu still don't have a change up which is crazy my only main pitch you know so we're trying to get that ated but yeah it was awesome all right cool cool cool so I got to ask you man I noticed your glove over there I like to have people show off their gear man if you don't mind so what kind of glove you uses if you mind showing it off yeah we got the um Nike right here uh went blue and red for the Cubs um got a nice mix of it like the black it's subtle but the red and the blue give it a nice pop so it's nice that head is nice I like that I like that last question if you could take one battle from the past that you never faced from a past generation who would be the one B you want to face oh it have to be Chipper Jones have to have to want to face Chipper Jones Legend I love that I love it man well I appreciate time thank you so much bro man [Music]
