hi I finished another Arc it comes out on the
19th of September and it's Elizabeth strout's latest tell me everything and we are back in the
world of Lucy Barton um but this time it's not predominantly about Lucy we're still in Maine
um Lucy and William are still living in Maine and her friendship with Bob Burgess has continued
uh because they meet regularly to go on walks uh Lucy and Bob because Bob is still hiding the
fact that he smokes from his wife Margaret so when he's with Lucy they go off and have so he
can have a crafty cigarette um now in this one Bob introduces Lucy to Olive kitteridge I've
not read any of the olive kitteridge books I've got I've now got one on my TBR bookshelf
um so I'll get around to reading that at some time and Olive invites Lucy to visit her because
she's got a story to tell her and this is what this book partly is it's Lucy and Olive sharing
stories about people whose lives are unrecorded um it's sharing stories sharing gossip but also in this novel you have
got you could say it's Bob's story it looks as though the burgess boys is another
book I need to try and find so I can find out a little bit more about Bob before he met
Lucy not that it's important for this book um we focus a lot about upon Bob in this
story because he takes on the case um defending a young chap say it's young this
this chap called matt Beach who is accused of murdering his mother his mother's gone missing
she's found and he's accused of murdering her so we learn a lot about Bob in this story
and he is a man who doesn't know his own value he he he just has no idea of how other
people relate to him and he's someone I would love to sit and have a chat with I really would
so in in one way you've got the s like the gossipy novel Olive and Lucy sharing stories you've got
Bob's story um you know you learn a lot about Bob in this you really do learn a lot about Bob
in this story and he's you know defending this guy as well Matt Beach so you've got that
stories going on and then you've got other characters because I mean the book is called tell
me everything and everybody tells us everything and you find that as in real life people's lives
interact and affect others sometimes it's a quiet read you you're meeting if if you've read the Lucy
Barton series which I have you you're meeting old friends again and it's a novel about love missed
opportunities friendship loneliness and growing old and I I enjoyed it I really did enjoy it I
loved getting back into the swing of this this area in Maine again loved getting to walking side
by side with Lucy and Bob and Olive it first time I'd met Olive um I'm not sure about her I think I
need to find as I said I've now got the book Olive kitteridge on my shelf I I'm not sure whether
she's a character I really took to um maybe if when I get around to reading Olive kitteridge I'll
I'll change my opinion but um I'm not quite sure about her but Lucy and Bob I adored so comes out
on the 19th of September happy reading take care
