what's going on everyone Chris from picks.com here with your free pick in the Illinois vs Kansas week two college football matchup going down Saturday September 7th 2024 just a reminder if you haven't already make sure you're subscribe to our Channel and smash that thumbs up and if you're looking for my Best Bets the games that I love including my daily $19 best bet head on over to pick dogs.com and click the premium picks tab at the top of the page but let's get to this one between Illinois and Kansas and uh you know it should be actually fairly interesting matchup you know Kansas obviously a team that was on the rise last season they got you know Jaylen Daniels back at quarterback so there's some continuity there for Kansas and this is a Kansas j-hawks team that in their opener took out lyndenwood 48-3 on the other side Illinois beat up on Eastern Illinois 45 nothing they got Luke Alm at quarterback as well so two teams with some solid continuity here but the thing for me that stands out is that you know even though there's not a whole lot that we can really take away from you know two power conference programs taking on FCS opposition one thing that did stand out to me for Kansas being a much better team than lyndenwood they didn't look all that great Kansas did in that game I mean they had a 27 point second quarter that proved to really be the difference but outside of that Kansas only scored a touchdown in each of the other three quarters they didn't have more than one real runaway quarter like I said they outscored lyndenwood 7even nothing in the first they outscored him 7 nothing in the third and 7 to3 in the fourth so for me there's just not a whole lot to be excited about when you see something like that maybe Kansas was looking ahead to Illinois you know maybe you could say the same for for Illinois against Eastern Illinois but the thing for me it's stood out was that Illinois just came out flying right out of the gate against uh against the Panthers and you know I think that Illinois got to take advantage of at least competitive spots when they can because I don't know how much I'm going to love this Illinois team once they get into Big 10 conference play because I think there's just so much you know of an increase in Talent with the additions in terms of the conference alignment and just how good the good teams in the Big 10 already were so like I said I just I can't necessarily you know be all that excited about Illinois's projections for the future but I think in this spot they can be fairly competitive you know five and a half for me feels like a lot I think this Line's already on the move towards Illinois I've seen I think a couple of four and a halfs pop up so I would hop on it while you can but I think to me this is a field goal game I think that you know I think uh Kansas could potentially win this game on the road for sure but I could see something like 27 24 here you know 30 27 24 21 something like that so I can I can see you know Kansas pulling out the win but I could just see it as a three-point game so I'm going to take Illinois here plus the three and a half excuse me plus the five and a half in this one maybe able to take it down three and a half we'll see how it goes but I'm going to take illino and the points in this one and that's going to be my free pick but just a reminder if you haven't already make sure you're subscribed to our Channel and smash that thumbs up and if you're looking for my Best Bets you can find those a pick dogs premium why your pick dogs check out our betting tools they're 100% free they're the best betting tools in the business and tools that you want to make sure that you have in your back pocket when you're making your Best Bets for the day's action thanks for watching see you guys soon
