she was the original first lady of football and since parting ways with former Inland manager Sor and Erikson Lancy doolo has graced our screens on shows like Strictly Come Dancing Celebrity Big Brother and celebrity Master Chef and now she's back challenging herself once again this time on Celebrity cooking school and she means business you don't know where I came from man I came from nothing nothing the streets can you do me a favor can you start to be as quiet as possible and focus what you're doing I want to get this down and concentrate please keep your voice down I know it's my last chance I'm not confident but I don't want to leave Nancy you're feeling the pressure I do feel in the pressure yes I would not mess with this lady Nancy deolo ladies and [Applause] gentlemen good [Applause] morning even even you're laughing at that well yes definitely I'm laughy of course with I'm just watching um I can't believe it the boys were terrible yeah that has always they do do you do a lot of cooking at home oh yes as you can see it's my your nose is growing um I don't make an is of this I was say I'm I'm working for the lobby restorators so I one thing I learned from this that I have to keep going to go to the restaurants that's and um but I can just manage the basic things but I never I never said that I'm great cook and um you're Italian show you well this all this things in Italian doesn't matter is the fact it is that I do love food I eat well but I I don't have the passion that's and everything else if you don't really enjoy doing something and cooking is Art I so I no I do prefer somebody's doing for me or if is necessarily I can make something something yes I'm interested to know whether your family sort of take the Mickey out of you for not being able to cook or do they um have a go at you yes but yes but actually my father was keep say to my mother she did insist she has to be teaching me more um you know but I always had somebody was cooking and uh even what I was shared during the university somebody else was cooking for me so I always had a new dear um something about surviving about so yes I could learn even because I had my mother was a fantastic cook even my father too so it is in Italian du you the fact that the meals are very important especially go Yourself by fresh ingredients and I don't mind to go food shopping that's what I do like but um you just don't like cooking like cooking you I'm with you now I mean you were first thrust into the spotlight here when you first started dating Fen and we've called you before the first lady of football Did you ever imagine the reaction that that the general public would have towards uh you when you when you were thrust into the Limelight no of course not but um that was huge impact um that's why we're still talking as well um and um because we've been told and he been told special V was how they call the The Impossible job to be to be the U the national Co the England B but but the attention uh we were not prepared uh but I realized this much long even before to get to get in because since I was at the airport and I actually when I learn about about the news it was coming I was in New York for my business trip and he called me we're supposed to know four of us four people between England and Italy so he he form Me From Italy and said well I signed the contract but is absolutely secret but I'm going to are you com so he said oh I'm coming I'm coming back tomorrow because he said I'm going to go and make a trip to London 10 minutes after the Daily Mail was on the phone I mean MI6 cannot be quick that course I don't know they had a my tellon number was there exactly 10 minutes so we're the correspondent of the daily man we want to ask and I said what are you talking about of course H got the phone but even worse the the evening I flew back to Rome the correspondent was sat next to me there were two people I mean I was traveling with my brother on the other side because I went there was a journalist there were journalist that's incredible so I had immediately such IDE what could happen and I could not believe it it was this well and of course it's it's a relationship that that we saw a lot of in those 10 years and you know you both were all over the place weren't you in terms of press and publicity but you've spoken to him since he spoke openly about his his cancer diagnosis haven't you how was it a surprise to you when he was so open about it no um um I knew knew I I learned a year ago when he when he was diagnosis and I know was a serious but I I could imagine this was public when I I was very pleased that he decide to go public because for me it's a it's he received such incredible support and I I I think he made the right decision I was shocked when I learned the first time that it was serious Hill um but I learned from the uh from the press that he had a year I mean as a year is bankr so I'm now this intensity this I it was so seriously know I didn't know and I'm but I'm I'm glad that he um he decide to to you know I do believe in miracles I know is a terrible it's a terrible one and at least you have to trying to and the energies of people can really make a difference genuine one the the real support ones uh and then at least you have a to enjoy as much as possible what life get because is someone that loves lives loves everything and I I find so difficult to cope with a I know the idea that you know that you have a year to go or and then I do hope this whatever you know it's not 90 minutes yet as they were saying football so until that there is always things can change and go and see him um um yes I'm going to I'm going to try to go to see him yes I will be probably for for his birthday or later on yes I'm good to see him and yeah you you can hear it in your voice it's still something that well it's um you know love story has been it's been one of the important one of the two important love stories of my life and I don't know how many you can get in life and that will stay for me forever for us it's a part of my life and it's been so as you said we've been so impact in the public which is a part of this British history in a way um and we've been everywhere that because was not make us happy um but because you have to adjust your life or something that everything is is is out there um um so it's something that one very terrible is the fact that the Past coming again into your present and is already been fragile time for me um losing my mother um so it's um it's a very emotional it's emotional time but but we do appreciate you coming on to talk about it and when you do next speak to him please do send him our loveely happy to see you again
