Just last month, the company recalled 71 boar's head and old country products made between May 10th and July 29th due to a Listeria outbreak. Let's turn out to Casey Baylor. She joins us live this morning, Casey that recall included meats made here in Virginia. Some of those products were tied to a plant in Central Virginia. Now, this recall is something we've been telling you about for weeks. According to the centers for disease control and prevention, three people have died from the Listeria outbreak. One of them claiming the life of 88 year old Gunter Morgenstein. That's according to his family. Now, Morganstein family says he's from Germany or grew up in Germany and is a Holocaust survivor. Garon says he never would have imagined this is how his father would die, always ate lunch, meat, always bores head, we're all still in shock for all of the things you know, that he's seen and been through in his life to, uh, come to that, you know, much meat. And Ashley Garon says he and his family plan to take legal action against the company. Now, Casey, what is Boar's head's response this morning? Now, Ashley, they didn't respond to this death spec specifically, but they did respond to other recent deaths saying in a statement, quote, we deeply regret the impact this recall has had on affected families. No word can fully express our sympathies and the sincere and deep hurt we feel for those who have suffered losses or endured illness. Meanwhile, the Morgenstein family is now working to tell others not to eat or purchase Boar's head deli meat.
