and it's a real honor to welcome Peter Capaldi to our stranger estudio tonight hello pizza where are you I'm not bad at all how are you hear me I can hear your lighting clear can you hear me yeah oh I like your guitars in the background you play music at home has that been keeping you sane play we that's why I come up here we do oh nice good choices and have you been you okay good yeah I mean that you know we are very very fortunate my life's basically it's largely on people that spend avoiding people anybody watching what I do is I just stay at home I would say also those personal work but it's just I actually find it now you know I'm meeting more people that I wouldn't normally because it's County really hype business going on because they know when you are know that you a so I suddenly find that just sweet yeah so nice thing is now I think that's a thing it's going to reconnect and a lot people that you know lost weirdly that kind of isolation is almost kind of it is making a better connection with people a lot of time I think as well yeah absolutely yeah you've picked someone really special because when I when I asked you if you wanted to come on board it was lovely because you got back in touch they said could I you don't read something and I was like absolutely what we do what you're going to read could you tell us a little bit about why you why you picked this particular or throwing piece really well this is something from the late great wonderful American novelist can't Vonnegut can't wanna go I thought us five and lots of other incredible books but he was also very well known as somebody who would be asked to go along to graduation ceremonies and colleges and even pep talks to the difference he was a great humanist like you know he'd been through the war he was really wise and I just want to read a little extract and it's really about volume things I think we're you know it seems so clearly not that who's really important or Society other people who are doing all this work for us you know obviously the people that the frontline with the NHS but you know the bad man is the bus drivers and policemen and firemen of the teachers all the teachers were still out there we're teaching our key workers kids that just amazing though so lucky to have them it's good that we we see that they are they really important people in our society so here we are this is a couple every graduation pep talk ever given as ended with without my father's brother Alex funk a harvard-educated insurance agent in genomics who was well mannered and why uncle Alex one of the things that he want objectionable about human beings was that they so rarely noticed it they were happy he himself did its best to acknowledge it one time we could be drinking lemonade in the shade with an apple tree to sponsor one colonics within today so I hope that you will be the same for the rest of you will know things are going smoothly and then say let that be the motto of your class this is a nice what is now that's one favor I've asked you now I ask you enough I asked it not only of the graduates but if everyone parents and teachers as well I want to show of hands after I ask this book how many of you attitude any or excited crowd hold up you can speak now Danya pads and say the name of that teacher someone else and tell me what that teacher did for you all done if this isn't nice that was brilliant thank you so so so much really appreciate you you've taken the time to do that for us and maybe we should do this every week oh god I'm not sure about that and listen it's really nice is where I've just heard this is love this is coming from Derek and he is a box for blood bike scotland's you're a volunteer charlie group who provide a free service to the NHS and Fife making sure the Bloods getting around to to people you know and institutions desperate situations as well so big shout to him and all his colleagues as well thank you very much for sending that and and Peter thank you so much for your time and take care and yeah we'll speak to you soon you take care thank you Wow bye bye
