as a dedicated fan of elen hilderbrand's books I must admit that I was thrilled to see the perfect couple adapted into a Netflix series having read the book time back in 2018 I was eagerly anticipating how the story would unfold on screen and while there were certainly differences between the two versions I found both activating in their own ways and viewers can't get enough of the Intriguing plot twists in the Netflix mystery drama the perfect couple and there's a growing curiosity among them to delve deeper into the original book that inspired the series and the perfect couple the plot unfolds as a youthful dual prepar for their nuptials but their joyous event takes an unexpected turn when a guest at their wedding meets an untimely and unfortunate demise and a Lyn hilderbrand's book came out for readers on June 19th 2018 but its Netflix version wasn't premiered until September 5th 2024 in simpler terms both Ean hilderbrand's novel the perfect couple and the Netflix ad at patience sheare similar main plot yet they exhibit substantial the stations and in the series it's Amilia and Benji who are set to get married but of a novel The Character getting married is Celeste instead as a movie gor recounting my experience I must say that this film mirrors its TV counterpart in an unsettling manner much like the series the protagonist Celeste discovers her maate of Honor Merit lifeless on the Sandy Shore to add fuel to the fire the best man shooter has inexplicably vanished from sight um following a series of Recollections um we learn that shooter has been absent uh due to his strong feelings for Celeste um on the day of their wedding uh Celeste was prepared to flee with him and start a new life together by eloping um so in the series there was an evident attraction between the character shooter and Amelia similar to a real life spark however they romantic connection as depicted was notably less prominent behind me than it was in the original novel and then there a significant aspect of the series contributing to both the development and conclusion when add's motive for killing Meritt was disclosed revolved their own merits affair with Benji's dad tag and her subsequent pregnancy with his uh child um the romance between tag and Meritt initially blossomed intensely but as their wedding approached tag began to grow disinterested towards Meritt however a shocking Revelation unfolded when she told them she was pregnant to his surprise he showed no desire whatsoever for her the baby or the pregnancy situation and uh in the novel tag tries to bride merit with all the money she desires to silence her and distance himself from her however in the series their affection for each other appears genuine until her death suggesting a slightly altered portrayal of their relationship between the adaptation and the original content a key element shared by both the novel and series revolves around the climactic part the manner of Merritt's death and the identity of her killer uh in the Tali series the perfect couple it is unveil that Abby resorted to a heinous act by poisoning Merritt and subsequently drowning her in the ocean this was done with the malicious intent of acquiring an inheritance from Abby father-in-law tag following Merritt's demise uh however Merritt's death in the book and aby's intentions uh differ greatly um in the novel it comes to light that aby's spouse Thomas as he's known in the series was involved romantically uh with a woman named Isabelle uh who goes by featherway in uh another context in the book Abby discovered that her husband was having an affair with featherly determined to act upon this knowledge yet unwilling to harm her Abby concocted a plan she laced a glass of water with a sedative intending for it to render featherly unconscious temporarily that unwittingly featherly provided a drug glass of water to Merit the evening prior to their wedding thus affecting Meritt senses as I head towards the ocean searching for the precious ring tag had given me the Allure of the drugs proves too strong in a moment of weakness I said that the big of telling they were succumb sinking beneath the waves until the water claims me forever and I was aspected of their books so in the book Merritt's death was a complete accident and no one wanted to kill her whatsoever uh we really see her Abby had no malice for merit and never intended to take her to the Sea uh to harm her also fly wasn't aware that the water she provided to Merit was contained any drugs as a keen Observer I found it fascinating how the book and the series portrayed merits demise although the reasons leading to her tragic end varied significantly the perfect couple is streaming on Netflix
