welcome back everybody to the next episode of sports talk with Hawk I am Hawk welcome in welcome to a beautiful Wednesday afternoon evening whatever it may be for you depending on which time zone you are in welcome in to the podcast we are going to look well I think what we're going to do is we're going to just keep running down the training camp depth charts we're going to be looking at the AFC North today looking at where we're at right now we have relatively let's see here we're sitting at the what is this sth I believe yes seven we got about another month we got about five weeks so we got 15 more podcasts before we get into the regular season because I'll do a uh everyday podcast especially the first week of college football super excited about that uh I know there's a lot of a lot of you out there that do not really care for college football like I said if you don't care for college football then don't complain about anything that happens in the NFL because it's going to happen in college first um the play Styles schemes um it's happening in college before it gets to the NFL that's where the transformation is happening and now with the new super conferences the five main power conferences that there are really uh really truly the Big Four ACC Big 10 Big 12 and the SEC really with those with those four at this point that's that's really who's running college football but we got about 15 more podcasts before we get into the um everyday podcast that we'll be doing through the week which remember to remind you is Tuesday through Saturday with a small little pick podcast Sunday morning where I'm going to do um Hawks I think what we're going to do is we're going to do power five uh in instead of a pick six I think we're going to do the Hawks power five that way each week I'm either above or below 500 that's you know that's my goal and then I'm also going to give you some of the fantasy stuff uh at as well so college football will start doing everyday podcasts as we get into it and obviously get into the regular season so the AFC North let's jump straight in here I already had an introduction don't need to prolong this let's jump into what we really want to see and learn and find out about which are who are the players that potentially you're going to hear once now you'll hear their name now it may be butchered it may sound nothing like what it's supposed to say ah sorry I had to take a drink maybe nothing like what you know it actually is but here it once now and then once when they actually take the field in week 13 that's your potential so where we're at especially with these teams the Baltimore Ravens primarily their third string Corner could definitely be playing in week number 10 week 12 uh they could be playing their six string running back which isn't even on the depth chart week five who knows I mean the way things go uh so so we're going to go with h let's see how do we want to split this up you know what we're going to go Let's do let's do Ohio in one and then we'll do the Ravens and Steelers and the others so let's open up with the Cincinnati Bengals and then we'll close it out with the Cleveland Browns and then Friday's podcast will be Ravens and Steelers all right let's jump into it Cincinnati Bengals currently have four quarterbacks on their depth chart Joe burrow Jake Browning Logan Woodside Rocky Lombardi then you got the running backs this is where I think they really will struggle reason for that is I don't think starting running back Zack Moss is actually a starting running back I believe he is a great two one of the best twos in the league I will give him that but I do not see him as a lead back I think he's going to struggle backing him up is Chase Brown trayon Williams and then Chris Evans wide receivers here we go we got Jamar Chase T Higgins Andre iOS I I Hold On hold on hold on let me try to read this iosivas there we go Andre iosivas then we got Germaine B Burton Trenton Irwin Charlie Jones hakee Butler kwami Lasser Kendrick prior their tight ends are Mike gaseki Drew sample Tanner Hudson left tackle is orando Brown Jr with Jackson camon backing him up and then Devin Cochran being the third string currently cell volton and Jason uh Jackson Kirkland are the left guards Ted Kos Trey Hill Nate Gillum your three centers Alex Kappa Cody Ford Eric Miller are your right guards your right tackles Trent Brown amarius Mim Deon Smith that is your right tackles offensively for me the only hole is going to be running back and and it's not necessarily A a hole as far as they got to figure out how to fill it it's just will the production be there enough to take just just a little bit of pressure off of Joe burough let's be honest Joe hasn't had healthy Seasons so to assume that it's just going to be great when he really has had back-to-back years that have been not the best I mean you got the Super Bowl year I get that okay I get that but the injuries are are really piling up here let's just be honest the injuries are piling up okay their defense is a 43 led by Sam hubard miles Murphy and Cedric Johnson there are your left ends now your defensive tackles I like it you got Sheldon rankins and BJ Hill Zack Carter and Jay two feet McKinley Jackson and Chris Jenkins Jr those are your six defensive tackles currently Trey Hendrickson is your right end with Joseph asai and Jeff Gunter as the backups linebackers are Logan Wilson Germaine Pratt AEM Doug Davis Gaither now they do not have a lot of depth at linebacker your backups are are Devin Harper Aaron Casey shakka Hayward and Joe Bach really with linebackers getting hurt more and more I would say this potentially is the biggest hole on the defense the secondary doesn't look bad you got cam Taylor Brit at one corner you got Jordan battle at safety Gino stone at safety GJ uh DJ Turner II at the other Corner Mike Hilton is the Nickelback Jaylen Davis Dia Hill Nate Brooks are all backup Corners Von Bell and Tyson Anderson or sorry Tyron Anderson are the backup safeties so truthfully when it comes down to it truthfully Cincinnati doesn't look bad uh there linebacker secondary bother me their kicker definitely doesn't Evan mcferson he's been a rocket ever since coming in they have three punters on the team right now though Brad Robbins Austin mcnamer and Ryan rro so um I don't know what they're planning on doing hey maybe they're going to do a punt pass kick competition to see who gets the punter job I don't know but I will say this running back on offense is very weak I don't like Zach Moss he was here in Indie you know the the bandwagon guys or I guess the the the blue colored glasses fans were like he's awesome he's great we should resign him why why the guy is a lot like he reminds me a lot of uh o Landis Gary he reminds me a ton of O Landis Gary um he can break out for 1200 yards he could it's not really what he is though you're not going to get the cons consistency I think that's where it's going to struggle linebacker and secondary for the Bengals the the line is fine the front four are good but honestly that back seven linebackers are okay but that secondary could be a little shaky all right let's jump North straight up Interstate 75 Interstate 77 and all the way up here we go I guess technically it's 71 71 runs through the middle don't ask me how interstates why interstates work the way they do 77s on the east side 75s on the west side and 71 runs straight up the middle whatever anyway so let's take a route straight up 71 to Cleveland Ohio and the Cleveland Browns all right so quarterback unfortunately for Cleveland fans this hasn't changed nor will it starting DeShaun Watson then we got jamus Winston Tyler Huntley and dorion Thompson Robinson other wise known as DT your running backs Nick chub got to stay healthy Jerome Ford good back Pierre strong Deontay Foreman depth very good depth at the running back position rers Amari Cooper Jerry Judy Elijah Moore okay then we got David Bell Jamari thrash Cedric Tillman you've got a really soft okay because it's young and old David Bell Jamari thrash young Cedric Tilman young Cooper older Jerry Judy older I like this wide receiver room right now it's a very good wide receiver room your tight end is David and joku backing him up is Jordan Atkins then Mitchell pageant then you've got your left tackle jerck Willis Jr James Hudson backs him up left guard Joel bonio Michael Dunn backs him up Ethan Pock Luke W uh let's see whiper backs him up Wyatt tell is Your Right Guard Zack Zer out of Michigan is your backup Jack Conlin that's your right tackle then you got dayward Jones backing him up they got a little bit of depth on the offensive line first string second string their offensive line is really good their head coach is really good their receiving core is really good their running back is really good the depth at running back is good even though Nick chub has really caught an injury bug as of late DeShaun Watson is a wild card so that's where I'm going to put the weakness on the offense Deshawn Watson to me is the weakness the wild card and the way everything could potentially work or not work they also run a 43 defense starred and studded and steeped in its concrete barriers the way that these guys play is run by Miles Garrett that is who this defense runs through miles Garrett your starting Left End Dalvin Tomlinson big pickup is your one of your defensive tackles Shelby Harris is the other one zarius Smith the other rushing end on the right side you got Maurice hunt and Quinton Jefferson as your backup defensive tackles you got Alex Wright Young Gun as a backup for an end you got agbo oroku as the other end then you got your linebackers Jeremiah not even going to try to butcher this aasu car yeah so so we're just going to say J okay simple as it gets J you got another linebacker Jordan Hicks and then Devin Bush your backups there are Mohamad Dante and Nathaniel Watson then you have a defensive back named Denzel Ward who I believe is very underrated his backup is khif halassi then you've got Grant delpit very good safety Juan Thornhill once again a good safety Martin Emerson Jr and Greg Nome are your other two B uh cornerbacks then you got Justin Harper senior miles Harden as your two backup Corners Rodney McLoud and Ronnie Hickman are your backup safeties you currently have two kickers on this team Dustin Hopkins and Kade York and then borquez as the hunter all in all I think the Browns on paper look better than the Bengals but I believe the Browns because of last year level off do I think they're going to drop off a cliff absolutely not I believe Kevin stefansky is too good of a coach and I believe they have too many weapons I really do excuse me having to keep drinking throats drying out quick to today uh so really Cleveland's weakness being DeShaun Watson is what I happens to they got some holes on defense kind of but not really they aren't as glaring as Cincinnati by any stretch of the imagination I like where the Cleveland team is at based off of the fact that they went to the playoffs last year when they really shouldn't have I think they come back to earth I believe they go 8 and N more or less and I think Cincinnati if Joe burrow is healthy will be fighting with the Ravens for the division lead but they'll get in on the wild card that is my guess as of right now obviously my official guest will come out at the end of August so there we go Cincinnati Bengals Cleveland Browns to AFC North foes they really don't like each other the games have been really good between these two teams recently so once again looking forward to that but I think right now that's kind of kind of where we're at right now I think Cleveland on paper is better but I think Cincinnati will be better as the season moves on all right that is it for this episode definitely a little bit shorter decided to try to keep these a little bit lower make it easier to listen to since it is just going down depth charts and we're just going down the depth charts and kind of making comments along the way trying to make it as simple as possible so I am happy we are looking at 20 minutes right now so let's close this out with a final thought there is a certain aspect of control that we all love to have we love to be able to control our destiny our Legacy we're happy to be able to control the TV remote the light switch here's what happens or I should say when you get control of something you shouldn't how do you respond do you get upset do you do you decide something or that a cause isn't worth it when something bucks up against you 32 teams the NFL this is something I was thinking about roughly onethird of the teams automatically to most don't have any shot of going to the Super Bowl little bit less we'll go 32 out of 32 teams 10 are assumed to not even have a shot not even an outside shot parody helps this the the salary cap helps this but you still got to go play the game and I think at the end of the day when everything comes down to it you still got to play the game you still got to win your one-on-one matchup you still got to trust your teammates to be able to win the game right now there's a lot of teammates we've heard of a lot of scuffles at Camp between different [Music] teams the reality is these guys got to have their backs it's training camp really I temper flaring because of heat and whatnot slightly understand but like there's no reason to get chippy in training camp joint practices there there's really not it doesn't mean anything you're just playing against somebody that isn't just there to pretend they are working on stuff the same as you are working on stuff and that's what makes it different so the reality check is this these scuffles and skirmishes you hear in practice take note of them because it doesn't necessarily represent a solid team more than somebody who's just trying to cause a problem really what it comes down to and there's been quite a few I think there's already been three training camps couples so it's it's been a couple it's been a couple how about we just go to work do what we need to do and get the job done guys I appreciate you stopping by today thank you so much for listening hopefully you have a great
