I do wanna take you live to New Orleans, Louisiana this morning. This is on interstate 10 at the Twin bridge. This is right there between uh, New Orleans and the North shore. You can see the wind starting to pick up, the rain is coming down. You see the waves starting to get a little chopped to them and this is just the beginning of the storm. Really just the outer bands getting into New Orleans. We're gonna see more and more of that as the storm approaches landfall later today. Again, this is hurricane Francine. A category one storm winds are 90 miles an hour. It's probably gonna stay around that intensity as it approaches landfall again. By around 7 p.m. we'll see the main core of the storm come on shore and then through the night and into tomorrow, the storm's gonna continue to the north. That's gonna bring it into the Memphis area tomorrow into tomorrow night. That's when we will feel some impacts from Francine. So I wanna show you the hour by hour radar. It does look like the rest of today will be dry. Really doesn't look like we'll start to see any impacts until late tonight. May even early tomorrow morning. This is 6 a.m. tomorrow. That's when we'll start to see that first outer band of Francine come in of the rain and the higher wind gusts and once the rain starts, it's gonna be with us for a while. Lunchtime. Still seeing rain. Now, we're to three o'clock, we're getting some heavier bands of rain. That's likely when we'll see our higher wind gusts too as the center of the storm approaches. Still seeing rain through dinner time tomorrow into tomorrow night, the showers continue and while the rain won't be as heavy on Friday, it looks like we'll at least see some light rain showers off and on for at least the first part of Friday. So we've got a good 24 hours or so that we're gonna be dealing with heavy rainfall and that is gonna add up 2 to 4 inches, at least maybe 4 to 6 in some parts of the mid south. Just depending on where the heaviest access of rain sets up. All of that coming down in one day could lead to some flooding and some ponding on the roadways and you might see those creeks and local streams rise just a little bit. The wind gust also something we're gonna watch tomorrow morning. Not too bad gusts around 20 but as we go through the day into tomorrow afternoon again as that center of the storm approaches, that's when we'll see the wind gusts pick up to 3545 maybe even a gust or two as high as 50 miles an hour. Tomorrow. Again today, the weather's nice. 84 in Memphis right now it's 85 in Forest City, 84 in Tunica. We will see more clouds come in today and the rain will arrive late tonight. Probably more so tomorrow morning, but really all day tomorrow, we'll be dealing with rain, high wind gusts. Both of those will impact your day. That's why we're calling it a weather impact day. It's highlighted in red because that rain and wind is gonna basically make you forget any outdoor plants, a few lighter showers for Friday. Now, the weekend does look mostly dry. There's a chance of a shower or two Saturday or Sunday. I think most of the weekend will be dry as temperatures climb back to the eighties.
