Nottingham Forest 1 Wolves 1 - Liam Keen and Nathan Judah analysis

[Music] hello I'm Nathan Judo I'm here with the wol reporter is Mr Liam Keane Liam not in the forest one wolver Hampton W was one first point of the Season hanging on a little bit towards the end you got to say but you know at least they've got the first point of the Season yeah I think we discussed it just up there a second ago I feel like wolves will probably be happier with that point than Forest will be um on the balance of the game albe it Forest didn't create a lot of clearcut chances and the ones they did obviously scored one and wolves managed to deal with with the others Sam Johnson making quite a good save um from a wood header uh in that second half as well so yeah I think wolves will be slightly happier because they had to survive a bit of an onslaught um a couple of names to mention Tom before he came off with cramp did very very well I thought um and Craig Dawson who played the 90 minutes today was was probably was his better player I thought he was he was excellent and particularly that those last few minutes you need someone a bit of a presence a leader win winning headers in in the box and when when balls are coming in and it's tough and it's dogged and you need someone to step up and I thought you did that yeah uh look we were wondering who the goalkeeper was going to be today to start to start the game and it was Sam Johnston and Forest scored early and you've got to think that he'll be disappointed with his pie in the goal as wi totty yeah the cross comes in and of all players in the in the forest team to leave free from a set piece Chris Wood is the last one to leave free from a set piece um surely surely I know I know that's the one person you have to mark you know where he's going to be exactly ghosts in at the um at the far post um totty gets caught underneath it tries to react and um he can do very little really to get anywhere near chriswood the header itself he quite tame considering back AC yeah going back across quite tame considering the space and time that he did have um and to me it looks like goes through Johnson a little bit I think he um would have seen it late definitely but I think he could have done better with it so he'll be disappointed however I did feel he he redeemed himself with um there was a free kick safe from Morgan W in the first half uh that's second safe in wooden second half was really a big one um an overall decent enough uh debut for the goalkeeper who is sort of beding in um couple of errors with the ball at his feet but nothing too dramatic so um okay steady enough three bookings in the first half and really a referee who who struggled to get control of the game you felt that Matas K was probably bubbling under at that stage where he looked threatening but at the same time you go into halftime you think this could go either way there was a big incident in that second half wasn't there where there was a handall we all thought it was a hand ball the referee who I thought was P throughout really for both sides had the whistle in his mouth was just about to blow doesn't V looks at it doesn't get overturned but I think we both think that if the referee gives that and Gary O'Neil was absolutely Furious that it wasn't given they're not going to overturn it that would have been a penalty for ws and then could be talking about a very different result yeah um obviously with going into this season they're trying to be more lenient when it comes to those situations um officiating and from v v standpoint um which I think is a good thing for the game I think there was there was some silly ones last season that were given um however there were last season there were some silly ones that weren't given that should have been um that to me that was definitely given last season that was definitely given last season that one and that to me that's penalty I think I know it's on the back of the back of the elbow but it's still changing the fly of the ball more I think it's more his handy to be honest I mean it's as the ball's coming over his shoulder Dawson's making the run on wood to try and get towards it his hand comes out way to the side way above him catches him I I think get flush on the handle I might be wrong but it's certainly from a very obvious handall position um and you're right Simon Hooper whistle looks we're just about to blow you saw literally doing this looks this way and puts the whistle down and runs as the game is playing on wolves go absolutely apoplectic Gary O'Neil is losing it on the sidelines he gets booked for his troubles second yellow card of the Season second card of the season in three Premier League games which is not uh not ideal I believe it's trying to keep up with Gomez yeah yeah I believe it's three for for a touchline ban um so so what he's got 30 Yeah well yeah ex games exactly um it to me it's one of those that if you're following wols you think it's a penalty following Forest you probably think it's not but I think it's a penalty um at the same time look the last 15 20 minutes was a little bit hairy scary 10 minutes of injury time as well and in the Midfield I felt they lost the battle they lost a little bit of their shape you know Mari Lina xia Gomez I don't think have have got into their their stride yet this season Tommy durl came in helped things up a lot we saw Andre make his debut as well I thought Andre actually did relatively well um coming on in the 85th minute so he had with 10 minutes ah of time surprisingly had 15 minutes of FO to play um and actually thought he broke up the game quite well at the time when wolves really needed it um so I think he did okay um agree with you Doyle come off the bench was probably wol bestman Fielder and he came on what the 59th was it I think it was9 um probably was the best midfielder on the day J Gomez doesn't look up to speed at the moment he's I think he's struggling a little bit um he he seems to be just a step off it behind the the pace game Mari Lina is working his socks off I thought actually did quite well first half but same as the he did against Chelsea he did it again today he's charging beyond the play he getting so far forward at times that wall was are so leing such a massive Gap so open in Midfield he did it again today and it was a couple times wol got lucky when for were breaking forward um that's my biggest concern and he was absolutely out on his feet at the end because he's he's putting so much effort in I do think there needs to be slightly more discipline tot gomz left back today yeah um and Ry at nor left WI what do you make of that yeah um a nor was definitely better definitely more involved in the game had a decent enough uh game from an attacking standpoint totty had a difficult first half in in some respects less um glaring errors but just looks fragile at the moment looks like there's an error coming looks like there's going to be a Mis misplaced pass something going wrong I think he was better second half um he he he didn't have an impact on wolves aside from you know the the um the goal itself didn't have an impact on wolves potentially losing the game but I don't think he was necessarily helping W get over the line at the same time if that makes sense um he's not quite in form at the moment and I think he's I think he's a very good footballer but he's just not quite there youngr lson didn't really get into the game today did he no disappointed with him really because um he just looked very isolated um it wasn't even necessarily the physical battle because he just hold his own in that in that regard he he just went through the motions just could not get into the game um couple of times the ball came into him didn't hold it up well enough couple times he came into his feet and very heavy touches losing the ball too easily um just a little bit off the pace J Daniel pent not in the squad today and we fully expect them not to be wolves players come the start of next week pents for certain um unless anything last minute goes wrong but that will that will go through Al shabab 5 million uh yeah 5 million uh pounds uh LLY that'll be Jose S is one that is creeping closer to a Saudi move with their window closed on Monday um wasn't involved today uh yeah believe he made himself unavailable um with injury whether that is um you know accurate we'll uh we we wait to S to speak to G afterwards but um yeah we don't expect Jose to be here we expect it to be Johnson Bentley and King but let's see what happens between now and but the good news is wolves are
