all right guys at this point it can't get much worse for stellantis man the national highway traffic safety administration has just recently issued a notification for a recall of 1.2 million Ram 1500s between the years of 2019 2021 through 2024 why you may be asking because of a software malfunction and not just any software malfunction but the type of software malfunction that can disable your anti-lock breaking system and then further disable your electronic stability control system so worst come the worst you could be in your Ram 1500 lose your anti-lock breaking system which could then cause you to lose your stability control system so you have no brakes and no stability and guess what I just purchased that's right A Ram 1500 T-Rex it doesn't get any worse man but let's go ahead and get into it what's up guys it's your boy knockout 360 here with another video man so you can tell him in a house that makes us a house Vlog you know it's going down and come around let's get into it I've got car content car shows car reviews car meets anything and everything car related happens on this channel so if you into that make sure that you stick around for everyone else hit that subscribe Button as well as that notification Bell so that you know what's coming out and when it's coming out so let's go ahead and get into it man the National Highway uh traffic safety administration this is coming from USA Today so this is a reputable website the national highway traffic safety administration uh has recalled a notification uh has a recall notification for 1.2 million 2019 and 2021 through 2024 Ram 1500 yeah yeah that's right 1.2 million okay um in the US from Chrysler's parent company stanes for software malfunction now normally when you think software malfunction you think you know uh the UK connect screen is messing up you know your car play isn't working your headlights flicker on and off something you know simple like that something that's not catastrophic well that wouldn't be the stellantis way the software malfunction can cause the anti-lock braking system ABS control module to disabled the electronic stability control system if the driver operates this vehicle with the disabled electronic stability control system it can increase the risk of a crash yeah no no traction uh little to no electronic braking system yeah I would imagine that could increase the risk of a crash uh in addition the automobile company Stellan said they're also recalling 7,299 of its Mopar ABS used as replacement parts in the recall vehicles um FCA at the moment is unaware of any related injuries or accidents as of right now so if you see uh your boy knockout go down for a little while and it's because of my T-rex you know what happened here and your boy's going to get filthy rich but um this just came as of recently here uh nearly 1.5 million so uh a little over probably 1.3 million have been um recalled some sites are saying 1.5 some sites are saying 1.3 but um if an individual's car is a effect that the indicator lights will be illuminated during the vehicle startup uh dealers will have to update the software at no cost yeah no it better be at no cost so take it down to your local dealership have them take a look at it man but ultimately uh the company added that the brakes would still work if that happened but us safety standards require electronic stability control to work in All Phases of driving uh so the anti-lock breaking system software that could potentially shut down the stability control so it's one system that malun functions that could end up shutting down the other system so you could have breaking ability but you could lose your stability control and as a result they've got a 1.5 million or 1.3 million uh vehicle recall on the Ram 1500 specifically a lot of people are saying that this has everything to do with the fact that you know a lot of these cars were rushed off the you know the manufacturing plant it was just a matter of getting them out ASAP you know what I'm saying uh let me put up this video here and see what this lady is talking about Chrysler's parent company Atlantis is recalling nearly 1.5 million Ram 1500 pickup trucks due to a software bug the company said the problem could mistakenly disable the vehicle's electronic stability control system which helps with steering the recall includes models from 2019 and 2021 through 2024 santis says it is not aware of any crashes or injuries from the software problem boom so a lot of people in the comments are saying that's a quality control issue that's a uh production issue that's a rushing these cars off the lot just to get them onto the dealership lot issue as well trying to make as much money off of these cars as possible and I can't blame them because that's what it seems like I mean it seems like uh it's like uh one of those things where of all the systems in the world that you want to go wrong now to my understanding your brakes are still going to work so don't think that you know you're going to be doing 70 80 90 miles hour on the road and your abs goes out and then your electronic stability control goes out and then you're you know up shit's creek that's not necessarily the case to my understanding you're is still going to work it's just the software portion of it you're going to see the light for the electronic stability control um malfunctioning right so if you're on the charger or Challenger you know the first thing we do when we're racing is we get rid of the ESC right we we disable that completely but you'll still see the light that says ESC off that's what it'll look like in a ram to my understanding it'll say ESC off or ESC I don't know era issue something like that that'll pop up on your um you know your did driver interface display um and then at that point I mean I guess your stability is gone you know you still have breakes but you know like I know once you turn ESC off it's basically you your tires and you know gravity at that point um and I'm assuming that's what would happen here 2019 2021 through 2024 so if you happen to buy 2020 in between those years you're straight you're good don't even worry about this if you bought a 2018 the year before this started you're good um 2025 with the 3 l hurricane you straight you good but if you happen to buy 19 21 or 24 you're screwed and there's a chance that this could uh go off at any moment here take it to your dealership get them to replace it man but ultimately I mean on cars and trucks that are this expensive you don't expect something this catastrophic to happen like I'm okay with I remember when I bought my um my first charger in 2015 you know what I'm saying I remember having issues with the navigation because like a dumbass I decided to purchase the navigation package instead of just going with the carplay and at that time I don't think they even had carplay in the 2015s but something was wrong with my navigation I took it to the dealership they took care of it I dropped it off update the software boom uh even with my 2020 Scat Pack wide body you guys know I had issues with the wheel bearings for some reason and they were clicking every time I would stop and turn and all that stuff took it to the dealership they actually didn't fix it but they basically told me that it was going of those things like it's just going to you know it's going to take care of itself it's going to correct itself over time so for like 3,000 to 6,000 mil I had to just deal with the clicking and then it eventually went away didn't have that issue with my 23 Hellcat thus far um but at no point did I ever have any issues that was like catastrophic to the point that my brake light was going off and my electronic stability light was going off like this right here I mean this is the kind of stuff where it's like I don't want to drive this unless all of this is squared away like taking care care of ASAP like U you know with us knowing cars we know that when the electronic stability control is off it's basically the driver in the car at that point right there's no electronics whatsoever that's governing you or slowing you down or controlling the car it's just you in the car but for most of us that's completely fine because that's what we want we don't want anything electrical or electronic slowing us down and you know limiting the power of our car so it's fine for us but for the average consumer you could imagine and he just bought a 2024 brand new Final Edition T-Rex and he gets in his truck one day and you know he's doing 80 90 100 because that's what we do in those cars um and he sees the ESC sign go off because he's got no traction at that point or he sees his brake light ABS light go off that could scare the out of somebody you know what I mean uh I would imagine it probably scared the out of me if I was in my T-Rex and I'm doing 80 90 100 um take that back 60 70 right cuz that's illegal in the state of North Carolina anything over 70 is illegal but no if I'm doing high speeds in a T-Rex and I see the ESC light go off and I see the ABS light go off I'd probably pull over and see what the was going on you know what I'm saying but apparently it's just a Dodge issue right just a Dodge issue just or Ram issue rather stellantis issue that's just what happens when stellantis builds cars they give you cars that are probably 90% complete and then they want you to pay a a 90% markup on these cars you know what I'm say saying and this is the same company that's going to go fully electric this time next year with their most powerful car to date right the Dodge Charger um SRT Daytona Banshee is set to be the most powerful car that Dodge has ever built it's going to be 100% electric and you know they expect for you to believe that all of the Kinks are going to be worked out and everything's going to be good well we'll see about that but uh for everybody out there that owns a 2015 oh I'm sorry a 2019 a 2021 through 24 Ram 1500 if you wake up one day and you see your ESC is off or your ABS light is on take it to the dealership have them check it out have them upgrade the software or modify the software for free of course and then um you should be straight and going about your business but this is just what happens when um you know you buy cars from stellantis sadly but you know it is what it is and I guess we come to expect it at this point it's been your boy knockout 360 I'm go ahead and get out of here man peace
